Avoid This Place I had a very bad experience at Oxnard Tires New and Used. The owner tried to charge me $50 just for a simple tire patch, which is completely unreasonable. When I questioned it, he lied and claimed there was "wear and tear" on my tire to justify the price, even though that had nothing to do with the puncture. 5/18/24 DO NOT RECOMMEND Hi yelpers! I don't yelp to often but need to get into the habit of it more because some businesses make solving issues a bit more of a headache and stressful. I came here because of another shops bad service. Right away had what I needed. Gave me a discount so thank you guy at front. But deep down I feel they could've been worth less. HOWEVER, it's just near the end of my service. One of the specialist throws the tire 1-2 feet away into my vehicle. Shocking. 20 minutes later now the reality is hitting. Then, I called the man at the front after being in shock. Called explaining what I experienced as a customer. In the end they said they cannot help me resolve this. Used tires are usually fine, as long as you check the date. If they're too old, some shops won't rotate them. They'll tell you they aren't allow to mount tires over seven years old. Of course, just like almost everything else, expiration date recommendations are at best simply based on correlational data and aren't hard and fast rules that need to be strictly followed. read more

I called to see how much it costs to patch a tire, he said depends on type of car you have. Keep in mind that has nothing to do with patching. I asked is it based on type of tire or value of car, he said both laughing. I said how does size of tire matter when all you do is take off tire and put "bandage" instead(it doesn't matter he just leaving space up to up charge) Bad service, attitude response, once he found out I had more of an expensive car the price doubled. Don't trust this, tire plus is 10-15$ takes 5 minutes..patch is 20-30$ takes 15. I don't care about price I just don't like when people think there cleaver. With all the construction going on near my home, I knew that it was only a matter of time before a nail found its way into my tire. I called Van Nuys Tire before I headed over there to make sure that they were still open for the day and asked if they had time to see me. My tire could not be patched but fortunately they had a single tire for a reasonable price. I paid cash, got a receipt, and was out of there in about 15 minutes tops. The next day, I was getting ready to leave and saw that my 'new' tire was completely flat. I was so stressed coz I had to be somewhere in a couple hours and don't know how to put on a spare. Luckily my BF was able to help me and also offered to take my car back to Van Nuys Tire so that I wouldn't be late. The guys at the shop recognized my car and didn't hassle my BF for the cash receipt or anything... they apologized for the inconvenience and swapped the tire out. If you need a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am service, come on over the Van Nuys tire. My boyfriend had a flat tire which needed to be replaced and friends recommended we come here for a good, new-used tire and good service. They were right! Friendly Staff, took a good look at the wheel and the tire was replaced quickly -- maybe in 15 or so minutes once the new one was chosen. The only strange thing to me is that they didn't have the correct lug nuts for the tire, so we had to go to an Auto shop to buy them and bring them back. Luckily, that didn't take too long on a weekday so I can't imagine what that would be like on a weekend. Leave the wife and the kids at home since the waiting area is four, fold-able metal chairs outside the office where you pay. No water or any beverage situation as you wait, this is the real deal. At least there's a gender neutral bathroom. All in all, very satisfied with the new tire -- it looks great! read more
