I ordered the American breakfast with two eggs over medium, turkey sausage, and blueberry pancake. I opted not to get the potatoes or grits as I knew I would have more food than I could eat anyway. Not wrong. There were two large sausage patties and the pancake was ENORMOUS! It came with warm blueberry compote and a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top. The pancake was also filled with ripe, flavorful blueberries. So delicious, but unfortunately couldn't finish it. The turkey sausage was pretty flavorless. I opted to only eat one ... just not satisfying. I had heard quite a lot about OY! from my brunch enthusiast friends of mine so I decided to give it a try for myself. **QUICK AND DIRTY** General : Open parking lot in a small plaza so no issue here. There is no reservation system here so it is strictly first come , first serve. This I found extremely frustrating because I was coming from the city and by the time I got to the host table , the wait was northwards of 30 minutes at about 12pm on a Sunday. Ambiance and Setup: Oy is set up like your run of the mill breakfast and lunch establishment. It's super casual with a kitchen in tree back, it's close knit and super laid back so no need to get overly dressed to come here. Think glorified IHOP. After eventually getting seated, o was swiftly greeted by my server who was nice enough and took my order which came out no more than 10 minutes after I ordered which was much to my delight after such a long wait. Food : Oy is know for its array of pancakes that came in all sorts of sizes and all sorts of toppings and assortments. I ended up going with another famous dish of theirs ; the challah French toast casserole. This marvel is literally a French toast casserole topped with caramel syrup. Most breakfast entrees come in small or regular size choices , in which I opted for the large and got a Philly cheese steak Omelette to accompany it. This amazing omelette is a combo of 3 eggs , green peppers , steak meat , mushrooms , and topped with queso. Everything was quite serviceable and delicious , I can't say I was disappointed with any of it. Although I came for the French toast casserole , the omelette stole the show as it was both unique and delicious. It was truly executed to perfection. Conclusion : I cannot say conclusively that Oy lived to the hype of raving reviews I received from friends , but it definitely did not disappoint and although I was dismayed with the lack of order to their current seating system, the dining experience made me a happy man. Also hoped to get a lot more chocolate based on the name but there were just a few chocolate and white chocolate chips ...they probably should've name d it Chocolate Chip Pancake. We were a table of 2 that waited over an hour, watching several couples be seated who arrived 30 minutes after us. Three people were taken inside with the "hostess" asking them what their name was. I like Oy!!! After reading all the reviews of my fellow Yelpers, I was excited to try this place! We arrived around 11ish for brunch, there were only 2 other people dining in, so we took our time to review the menu thoroughly. Prices were a little steep, but we finally settled on a couple of omelettes ( no table service ). I order The Diet, which is a 6 egg omelet, it includes ham, bacon, steak, mushrooms & onion, its cover in queso & my friend order the Philly cheese steak omelette with a side of toast. Everything was really good,my omelette was load with meat, but it was more then we could eat at one setting. So we ended up taking the rest to go. The menu includes burgers and loaded fries, also pancakes and omelettes.... The cashier says they serve all items, all day! So yes, you can have a burger for breakfast if you like. They also have Arden's Garden beverages at this place. On my way out my friend noticed the French toast plate, they were huge... Oy! is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot that opened in Vinings in July 2015. It's located in the same small strip as Marlow's Tavern. When it's busy, parking can be hard to come by, so you may have to hover and circle. The business has quickly become popular. This place is known for its "extreme" 12-inch buttermilk pancakes, giant omelettes, burgers, "Mountain of Fries," and massive desserts. Definitely not the place for smart or healthy eating, but rather a place where one's eyes widen and jaw drops at the sight of the kitchen's over-the-top, waistband-expanding serving sizes. Pictures do more justice than words. Oy! offers a half-dozen pancake varieties that run about $11 for one pancake, $13 for two, and $15 for three. There are upwards of 10 omelettes including chili cheese, bacon cheeseburger, and Philly cheesesteak varieties. Those run about $12-13 each. Burgers are in the $9-15 range and most fry orders will set you back about $10-11 each. Desserts include sundaes, cookies, milkshakes, malts, and more. The sundae (~$10) is huge at 38 ounces. It's in your best interest to share. It's not until you cut and bite into the pancake that you discover there are bacon bits inside too. This pancake didn't blow me away, but fans of bacon will probably like it. The Cinna-Yum pancake is pretty much like a dessert. Think of a Cinnabon, but in pancake form. I think the original Cinnabon is better, but Oy's pancake variation isn't bad either. This pancake comes with plenty of icing. Pour over maple syrup and caramel sauce and you've got something truly decadent. Mama Sherry's Specialties are terrific. I recommend the Challah & Egg Souffle. It's fluffy, eggy, and cheesy. Delicious and comforting to the last bite. The Challah French Toast is pretty good too. It's a lighter, more airy version of traditional French toast. Softer and not as dense. It comes with a good bit of powdered sugar. The Mountain of Fries are just that -- a piled-high mound of smooth, crispy, thick-cut fries. They're topped with a variety of ingredients. I enjoyed the Cincy Fries way more than the Loco Fries. It's hard to go wrong with all that savory chili (there's lots), chopped white onion, and melty cheddar. Warm and hearty. The Loco Fries are okay. I thought the salsa, guac, and sour cream made the fries unnecessarily wet/soggy. In general, I think the overindulgent yummies here are A-OK. They're certainly not things I could eat with any regularity, however, unless I want to be making doctor's appointments too. Service is very good. Inside, the opening dining room is simple and casual. I guesstimate there's enough table seating for roughly 50 customers. There's a semi-open kitchen, small bar, TVs, a self-serve drink station, and a takeout line. The space is naturally well lit from the storefront's multiple tall windows. Oy! is possibly the least applicable description for this spot. Depending on the language, it will almost always have either a positive or negative connotation. This restaurant is so average, it's hard to have any emotion about it. The only area where I might see the name being applicable is portion sizes. I'll admit, I came here strictly based on the positive Yelp reviews and an overwhelming desire to try something new for lunch, and it wasn't bad. Part I: Taking Responsibility. Despite the overwhelmingly slow service, they did take responsibility for it and even were kind enough to comp part of the bill as their own initiative. Part II: Cheese Soufflé? I saw that being noted as a common item to get here and decided to follow the lead. I don't think it was a disappointing decision, but the soufflé was so overwhelmingly fatty and unhealthy, I couldn't quite finish it. Perhaps it wasn't the right choice for me personally. It was just too much fat, although someone might appreciate it. Even the small portion was large, so portions are generous and the cook himself was kind enough to let me know that it's filling for one person. Part III: The Menu that's just kinda there. I was so looking forward to my visit. The other reviews, good and bad, made the place sound so good. I was a little disappointed. The sweet tea was water and sugar, very little tea flavor. The sourdough toast was cold and would not melt butter. My Bride's first steak was way overcooked. BUT! The service was fantastic!! Our beautiful server made the Bride's meal right. My Cheeseburger omelette with Jalepeno's was beyond compare. She Loved her potato latke and the eggs were cooked to perfection both times. We sat at the bar and went from a 20min wait to immediate seating. The portions are huge and options are limited. Pancakes, fries, burgers , bacon and eggs with side of self serve coffee or milkshake. Anything you get will be on large portions. For me personally I can't say I'd return I'm not big on buttery omlets and I don't need an 8' or 14' pancake. However definitely good service and a nice option for those who are pancake lovers. Small pancake $4.98, fruit 3.99, bottled water $4 half omlette $8 .. large portions are like $10-13. Eggs any style is like $3.50 and Turkey bacon about the same. We decided to order from here since my son has a life-threatening dairy allergy, and has always been able to eat at Jewish bakeries safely, since the bread generally doesn't contain dairy. We ordered the challah bread French toast, (and asked for the caramel on the side, since we weren't sure if it was dairy free.) I also made sure to write "dairy allergy" in the request section. When we picked up the order, my husband said our son has a life-threatening dairy allergy, asked the lady at the counter if the caramel sauce contained dairy, and she said she didn't know, but they use smuckers brand(it contains dairy). So we take the food home, and realize they forgot to give us one of the giant pancakes we ordered, and there was no syrup or sauces of any kind in the order at all. Ok, fine- we weren't going to use it anyway. The receipt on the bag said "dairy allergy" so I thought maybe they just left the sauces out bc of that. Anyways, my eggs are kind of cold, and the cheese on them is rubbery. I can't say anything about my pancake, because it wasn't there! My husbands eggs were also gross, but the pancake and home fries were good. Now. The French toast. My son took one bite, and had an IMMEDIATE allergic reaction. His throat started closing, and he threw up. We immediately gave him Benadryl, and are currently waiting with the epi pen ready in case it progresses. So for anyone with allergies, or who keeps Kosher, I would avoid this place. They are definitely putting dairy in the challah bread. The receipt and order both were clearly marked dairy allergy, and we even told them it was life-threatening, and they did nothing. I noticed all the good reviews of this place are from years ago, so I think they sold it to some people who give no f's about the original recipes or people with dietary concerns. I was very excited to try this place after seeing the pics and reading the reviews. It's a cool little place. The decor is unique and so is the restaurant. I came for lunch and the place was almost empty. I asked for a lunch suggestion and was told to try the burger. It was very average to me. I really didn't like the bone chip that I found in it. I thought for a moment I chipped my tooth. Other than that the burger was a little bland. The steak fries were all various sizes so they were all various degrees of over and undercooked. One weekend here recently, the little family and I decided to go grab a bite for lunch. I was craving a burger and nobody seemed to object. Intent on trying out a new place, I jumped on Yelp and did a quick search. This place "Oy" popped up. It was only a few miles away and had great reviews--so we decided to give it a try. They seem to have a very popular breakfast/brunch--but apparently, their burgers are the biz as well. To make a long story short, the hubs and I both ordered the "Juicy Lucy" burger and it was fantastic. Oy makes their burgers out of a mixture of brisket, short rib and certified angus beef. The burger was seasoned perfectly...but the standout....is that it's stuffed with cheese. Like, it's inside of the that nice juicy thick patty. We also ordered what they call a "mountain of fries"--and it is indeed a mountain. We all were very happy with our lunch that day, and we plan on going back for brunch to try the pancakes they serve that are as big as a medium pizza--seriously. If you're in the Atlanta area, I'd suggest you give Oy a try...because, why not? read more

Customer service: 3 stars: neither great nor bad, the times I've dined in I had to do the waitress' job, request refills when it obvious my coffee mug or glass is empty, request napkins when it's obvious there is none and I'm going to need them, request clean cutlery when it should be obvious I need clean cutlery. Request empty creamers and sugar packets to be removed from the table when it was small mountain of debris. I hate we didn't dine at first watch 2 minutes from there. Sorry guys, I wanted to like you but you fell very short today. We were barely greeted, had to grab our own silverware, we're offered no water. They just offer no customer service, period. If you're okay with that cool, but I'm not. I feel like that's apart of the dining experience and frankly what we're paying for (including tipping). Given we did come on the Monday following Christmas day, so maybe they were short on staff...
