I used Oz Movers for my move from Los Angeles to San Diego. During the delivery into my ground floor apartment one of the younger inexperienced movers was attempting to carry a large marble dining table top himself without any assistance. As he walked through the front door he dropped it on the floor resulting in a 1.5" by 1.5" chip on the top edge of the table. When I asked the foreman in charge of the move if the table just cracked he assured me it was wrapped and would be protected. After about 30 minutes, the foreman unwrapped the table and noticed the damage. He asked me if maybe the damage was already present when they picked up the table but I assured him it was not. When he found the pieces that had broken off wrapped in the moving blankets, he acknowledged that the drop had indeed damaged the table top. While setting up my 65" television the following day, I noticed that the screen was covered in fingerprints and that 1/3 of the screen had been shattered as a result of the movers holding it by the glass front. During the unpacking process, I had noticed two of the movers carrying it around and leaning it up against the furniture. The costs of the move was almost $5,000, the cost to replace the table top from Room & Board was a little over $1,600, and the flatscreen tv was recently purchased for $1,100. In total the move and damages amounted to $7,700. When I contacted Oz Movers to let them know about the damage, they explained that they only cover $0.60 per pound regardless of whether the damage was caused by the negligence of their movers. I explained to the claims managers that the movers broke two of the largest and most expensive items and that $0.60 per pound would not only fall short of the cost to repair/replace the items, but that I had been charged more than that simply for moving the two broken items. My claim was submitted on 7/11 and after a 2 phone calls and an email I was advised today 7/22 that I would be getting a check for $300. I cannot express how disappointed I am with Oz Movers for not taking reasonability for the carelessness and negligence of their movers. If you do decide to use them, I would recommend paying extra for premium insurance that covers replacement costs as it is expected that they will break your items. read more

Oz Moving & Storage destroyed $3100 worth of our possessions. Oz improperly packed our TV and the screen was bent and cracked upon delivery. They broke our toddler daughter's bed frame, and crushed the mattress -- all of which were essentially brand new. This was the sloppiest move I have ever seen. Boxes were crushed during transit, and they packed items improperly. I would never use Oz again and I'm in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. The company failed to do its basic job. If I could give them 0 stars I would. What is most sad is that they won't reimburse us for the items because we only had basic insurance. However, this was not a dish or lamp breaking by accident, this was our daughter's bed and our TV completely destroyed by improper packing, which was their responsibility. Added 9/5/23: in response to Nancy's comment, I believe it's important to note that the damages were caused by negligence and the failure of the company to do its basic job (moving possessions safely), not a result of a box falling or other accidents that might require insurance. Hired them for a cross country move from LA to Chicago. They picked up our stuff and everything was great but now they are holding it in a storage facility instead of delivering. Why it is not being driven to Chicago? I have no idea because when I call they are low key rude and give me absolutely no information on when I can expect the delivery. Someone said one date and then someone else told me another date in 3 weeks!? I will edit if the business owner responds or when I receive my delivery. read more

Let me start off by saying, Ingrid, Israel, and the delivery guys are wonderful. They're friendly and very helpful. The owners and the management however suck. I was with them for 5 years and have never felt so cheated in my life! I received my sofa with mouse droppings under the cushions, my mattress was exposed with the shrink wrap ripped in many spots (mind you, I was told it was shrink wrapped and kept in a "mattress box") and on top of that one of my boxes had a moth family happily chewing away at my clothes! They also had the audacity to offer to dump those items for an extra 300-something dollars!! I eventually got them to take them for no additional charge, but are you kidding me?! Such a nightmare experience. This is a poorly run business and I would never recommend them to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

DO NOT USE OZ Crazy everyone! After I posted my experience, I received a call from Oz. They refused to email me after I requested the message in writing. I kid you not, she said, "We were prepared to give you more money because we cannot argue that mistakes happened but now that you have posted on Yelp, 'they' in California have no motivation to give you anything beyond .60 cents for every pound. Damage is already done." I repeated my previous concerns and what the movers said about it being their fault and she said, "they are movers, they will say anything". What!? So, now the problem is the movers are bad at their jobs and cannot be trusted. I asked for at least partial refund of what I paid. We hung up and she never reached out again. I received a check today for .60 cents for every pound. Folks - I received $328.20 for thousands of dollars of damage because I shared my experience on yelp. That is retaliation and it's unethical. I suppose, more than feeling loss, I am disappointed in the lack of integrity and care. Moving is stressful enough - who needs to spend weeks trying to get money to rebuy the stuff that you worked hard to own in the first place? Yuck! Yikes Oz! I am not cashing my check and urge Oz to make a better choice aligned with their owner story on Yelp which focuses on providing good and equitable service. I have used them twice, initially 4 years ago and then again this year. The first experience was pretty uneventful. They were very professional and did a great job. (Hence, the 2nd star) My more recent experience was negative from beginning to end. I had all of my boxes packed except for a few lamps which I paid extra for them to pack, as I figured they would do a better job. After bringing all of my items to my hallway they basically said that it was more than they had estimated and said that they would not transport anything unless I paid an additional $700+. As all of my items were sitting in my apartment hallway and my lease was up that day, I did not have much of a choice. Fast forward to move-in at my new apartment. There was a previous tenant who was moving out on the 3rd of the month and my lease was starting on the 4th of the month. My contract clearly indicated that my delivery was the 4th. The items arrived quicker than they expected and they told me that they would have to deliver on the 3rd and that they could just leave all of my furniture and boxes in the hallway and I could personally move everything in the next day. Fortunately the previous tenant was very accommodating and agreed to move out earlier, otherwise I am not sure what would have happened to my belongings. The team that delivered was also so shady. They told me that the delivery was more than 50 feet from the front door so either they can increase the bill or I can give them that much money in cash for them to pocket and they would not change the invoice. Frankly, they were going to get a larger tip, but they were asking for less than what I was going to give so I just went with it. When I did open my items, the lamps that they did pack all had broken. They literally just threw them in boxes and put no wrapping. They reimburse for pennies on the dollar for that they are worth so I got a check for mere dollars. While this company is cheaper for sure, I do regret using them as they made my move unnecessarily stressful and added over 700 dollars from the original estimate. I really wanted this moving company to be great. They came highly recommended from a friend who used them to move across country twice, so I figured I would give them a shot moving from LA to Nashville. The guy who did the estimate was nice and gave a price a little lower than other quotes I got, so I went with him. He said he estimated a higher box count than we had since it always tends to be higher than you expect come moving day. Well moving day came, and the movers packed up everything, and at the end they said we owed $1500 more than the estimate! I can understand a few hundred more, but $1500 more means you gave a bad estimate! Strike #1. Then when it came time for our stuff to arrive, their estimates were wrong again. The driver called us and said it would come Saturday, then Friday, then Sunday. Well on Sunday afternoon, another local moving company they contracted the job out to called and said they would arrive on Tuesday now. Try spending 4 days with nothing but an air mattress and folding chairs and 2 pets. See how your back feels. Strike #2. When they finally did arrive on Tuesday (hours later than they said they would), we saw the condition of our things...and they were utterly trashed. Most boxes were pretty roughed up and a few were even ripped open with items sticking out! It is such a horrible and gut wrenching feeling seeing your life's possessions treated with such disregard and disrespect. Strike #3. Obviously some items were damaged, including the ones we had them pack! Our big screen tv: smashed. A cherished painting by a local artist: ripped and scuffed. A few wine glasses and picture frames, I can understand. What I don't understand is how they managed to lose an entire wardrobe box full of my clothes! Just vanished into thin air, or so they would have me believe. There were even 2 items that were missing from boxes that arrived. How does that happen?! Strike #4. I filed a claim and received a check for only a fraction of the value of the damaged items. But this was expected since I only purchased the 60 cents per pound insurance. I will say, their claims person was very nice and helpful and they even gave me a little more money than they had to. Probably because they knew how badly they screwed up this move. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more money on a Pod and some local movers. The stress and heartache of dealing with this company is just not worth it. Carlos organized the arrival from NY, to a short term storage, to selecting an exceptional delivery team. He understands "Customer Focused", caring, organized and available for any questions. I would leave zero stars if I could. I had a foreman called Manuel and one other worker. They were extremely slow and took 6 hours to move me out of a one bedroom apartment and another 6 to move me into another one bedroom 20 minutes away. They broke 2 of my furniture items while rebuilding them, they charged me overtime and for 2 hours that they were on break. they were unprofessional and rude as well as unable to converse with me in English. They over charged an obscene amount over 2000. Worst experience moving I have ever had and I have moved 6 times and twice cross country New York to Los Angeles and back for far less money. Please do not waste your time with this company. Oz is the ABSOLUTE WORST. The have zero pride in what they do and couldn't care less that furniture was trashed by them. I had them store my furniture for 6 months and then deliver from LA to San Francisco. Almost all of my furniture arrived damaged, with 2 lamps, a coffee table, and bar cart completely trashed. They used tape directly on the furniture, pulled items apart and put them back together incorrectly. They lost screws and put my dining table back together with screws missing, which I only discovered when I was going over all my furniture on hands and knees, cleaning the mess they made. They also lost a screw for the media console. At least they told me about this one. But seriously, hiding missing hardware??? The movers gouged the wall in my new apartment. Literally rolled furniture up the stairs. They didn't care at all how they handled the furniture. Oz's response is that I elected the 60 cent per pound of furniture insurance, their responsibility was only $325 for furniture that cost over $5,000. I had to pay a different company to remove all the broken furniture. Oz's level of care amounts to malpractice given that moving and storage is their business. They blame the customer for not buying extra insurance, but the point is that one shouldn't have to buy extra insurance! A client should have a reasonable expectation that their furniture would arrive in the same condition in which it departed. One can understand a few scratches here and there, but literally EVERY piece of furniture they moved arrived with some degree of damage, except for my couch by some miracle. The number of items damaged and/or broken include: Bed, nightstand, dresser, floor lamp, desk lamp, bar cart, media console, coffee table, bookcase, dinning table. This is beyond belief. I hate giving bad reviews but in this case I have to. My furniture and boxes were in storage for about 7 months and when I was ready to have my things transported they came from NY to LA. My desk, buffet table, and most of my boxes arrived destroyed. It was like they threw my things off the truck and packed it back up. I chose Oz because both my mother and brother used them for long distance moves. They both had a great experience with the movers. This was not the case with my things. Awful experience. Oz uses third party movers and claims no responsibility for any unsafe behavior on the part of the movers that they contract. At various points throughout the move, we found issues with the care our belongings were given, the professionalism of the team that moved us in, as well as significant oversights in coordination: -Upon their arrival to our apartment, two members of the moving team requested to use our bathroom. I obliged and, to my surprise and alarm, they BOTH proceeded to use the bathroom together at the same time, all while commenting on their feces loud enough for me to hear in the other room. We found this to be disgusting, unsettling, and wholly unprofessional. They also spoke of experiencing a possible UTI and one associate in particular mentioned that they might be pregnant. Please know that I have no issue with movers using our restroom. I take issue with how the bathroom was used and the number of people in it at the same time. It's also concerning that one of the movers was suspecting that they were pregnant while moving heavy boxes/items throughout the day as that could be dangerous. -Later in the day, after waiting for a long time for the crew to arrive up the elevator with another load of our belongings, I went downstairs to see if there might have been a problem. Instead, I found all three members of the team inside a hallway, maskless, and eating lunch, which is unsafe and unacceptable. At no point did they communicate that they were taking a break and them being maskless in our building is a direct violation of our building's COVID safety regulations, as is the case with most if not all buildings these days. On top of this, throughout the day, all members of the moving crew at various points showed complete disregard for COVID safety protocols by not wearing their masks properly and sometimes not at all while loading in items into our apartment, which we again found unprofessional and unsafe. -This move, which consisted of a one-bedroom amount of belongings, took over five and half hours to complete even with amenities such as an elevator, that the movers had full access to, and full use of the building's loading space, where their 18-wheeler was parked freely for the entire load in. -Regarding the care of our items, we found one box with a large hole in it, which had been labeled 'fragile'. At another point during the move, one of the movers banged one of our chairs against our apartment's wall, leaving scratches in the paint. A member of the team also sat on one of these very chairs as they unwrapped other belongings of ours, which is unprofessional. After the move was over and the movers had left, we noticed another one of our items was significantly dented. -After the team left for the day, I was dropping off trash into our floor's trash closet and saw that the movers had left all kinds of cardboard and plastic from the move in the trash closet, filling the area completely so that no other residents, including myself, could enter and dispose of trash. At no point did they ask where to put trash nor communicate to me what they had done with it. -As I counted the numbers of the items coming into our unit, I noticed that one of our items had been stickered twice, which suggests that we had overpaid for at least an item. A few items had also completely lost their stickers all together. They even brought in an item from the moving truck that didn't belong to us and none of our contacts at Oz informed us of what to do with this item for close to a week. -Upon reentering our apartment that day, after the movers had left, I saw that one member of the team had left a knife outside of our front door. (This was very much a pocket knife and not a box cutter, something used by moving professionals.) -Something else that was of concern was the coordination efforts of the Operations Department. When the driver called to confirm the delivery address, he mentioned an old address of ours that we had changed with Oz over two weeks prior. It's concerning that I personally had to update the driver regarding our new address the night before the move. Separately, the Operations Department also had issues contacting our driver and our shipment of belongings was delayed for several days. -When we requested a full refund for the load-in described above, Oz flat out rejected the request and instead gave us $200 to settle the matter, which is close to 11% of the amount we requested back. The Customer Service Department, General Manager, and Owner were all made aware of the above experience and this was the best that they could offer. We hired Oz because we wanted professional movers. What we experienced, however, was significantly lacking in professionalism across the board. read more

Warning: Do NOT use Oz unless you want to end up with broken furniture/items! It really is hit or miss with this company. I used them twice for moving furtinure and the first time was great, but the second time was awful and disorganized. Worst of all, they completely RUINED my boss' $8,000 sofa!!! I got quotes from 3 different moving companies to move stuff from LA to Portland and Oz came back the most affordable. I guess the saying is true: you get what you pay for. Corey was great and came by to do an initial quote and once we approved it, the movers were at my office the very next day packing everything up. Seemed like everything was going great until the a week and a half later I got calls/emails/VMs from 3 different people from Oz telling me 3 different updates regarding my delivery time. VERY disorganized and I'm being told my delivery will happen between a certain window so I make the arrangements and then I get a call from someone else telling me something different.... RED FLAGS going up at this` point.. Fast forward, everything is delivered and all of a sudden my boss is emailing me photos of his very expensive $8,000 sofa completely destroyed. All of the legs are crushed from the move (see attached photos). So extremely disappointed...... Oz takes NO responsibility for this. Allison, the claims manager could care less. All she tells me to do is fill out a claims form and email it to her. I asked her to confirm receipt of it, but never does until I email her 3x to follow up. I called her for an update, no answer. Last week, I get a letter in the mail with a check for $250 even though they say that they are only obligated to pay me $90.00 based on the insurance liability which is a humorous 60cents/per pound. The $250 amount they say is "in the spirit of good." Are you serious? You just ruined an $8,000 piece of furntiure we entrusted to you guys (repairs cost $2,000) and I'm given a $250 check. This whole experience was terrible! From beginning to end, our stuff was treated so poorly. We trusted this company with our most valuables and even had them pack the important stuff. They ended up breaking thousands of dollars worth of items. Then sent us a $300 check. You guys really don't care about the working people who trusted your brand! Moving is hard enough, but literally treating our stuff like crap and then not having integrity? How could anyone work for a place like this? One of their trucks was driving next to me and forced me out of my lane nearly causing an accident. The driver had no remorse for driving so recklessly and even had the nerve to flip me off as he was driving away. Even if they provide a good deal you'll probably have to deal with their insurance company to get your items replaced because they won't survive the move. If you want less reckless drivers on the road, don't give this company business. I left them a complaint with the details of the incident and they provided no follow up. The Oz group in Los Angeles is wonderful! I moved from So Cal to the east coast under some very trying circumstances, and with not much time to do so. I have never used a moving company before, but my friends who moved 6 years ago to the same area used Oz and recommended them. I needed help packing. Cory, Alex, Eduardo, Demetrious, and Steven helped me pack. I was totally stressed out but these guys were so calm and reassuring and made everything bearable. Carlos (the operations manager) also showed up to check on how everything was going. I love these guys! I wanted to have them come along to unpack my stuff, but I knew that was not a possibility. I drove across country (with the critters) and knew I would get there before my stuff did. It arrived a week later, as expected. There were a few "glitches" at the east coast end and I was Not Happy. (Hence the 4 star rating, not 5. For the LA team - 5 stars For the East coast team - 2 stars ...) It was also very early Pacific time, but after a bit, I called Carlos in LA for help. He and I spoke a few times during the day and helped me stay calm. I am not thrilled about the East Coast "unloaders" (there were two of them), but I was and am in touch with Carlos who is dealing with the situation on my behalf. I will not go into all the details here because I want this review to be a testimony to the LA folks. I could not have been more pleased. ***Long distance moving - moving day review *** I met the wizards of moving crew today!! They were really fast but careful about moving the boxes and furnitures. They wrapped the furnitures with blankets nicely so that it doesn't hurt or scratch the furniture or the floor while moving in and out. They were the only company who gave us the most reasonable and reliable quote with no hidden fee. They also offered free one month storage after moving was completed. The workers were respectful and hard working. They work together as a team and it seemed efficient and fast. I am very happy and satisfied with their service today. BEWARE!! The quote I was given was not honored and once they came and loaded the truck they tried to charge us an additional 30% and when we disputed it the foreman became upset and unloaded our items!! After a two hour ordeal we finally got half of our move done but they forgot to move some items we paid for, and part of our everyday stainless steel kitchen cutlery and tablecloths were all missing. I called to inquire and never got a call back. I don't know what kind of "business" these people are running but we definitely got swindled!! read more

Dangerous!!! Where do I start? When they pick up my stuff, the movers are so professional and respectful. I have very high hopes that my moving will be smooth because my move very small. Only bed and 7 boxes! I was totally wrong. At the delivery, the movers are so young and disrespectful to the building and me. They talk to each other and laugh so loud. I can't even hear what I was listening to on my laptop. I also hear their loudness since they were in the hall way. The bigger guy just slammed my boxes on the door so hard which leave a long mark on door. He is very rough with my stuff even in front of me.... At the end, he left my bed UNINSTALLING. The headboard is completely not attached to the bed. ALL THE SCREWS WAS GONE. I was shocked. I have to run after them and tell them to come back and install it. They come back and put only one screw loosely on each side of the headboard and leave again. The bigger guy told me that they will go get more tools and will come back but they never come back. They just leave my bed like in the photos. I called and left a message. No response. I call, leave a message and email Oz moving. Same thing No response. What made me really upset is they also took the rest of my headboard screws. Now my bed is so unstable every time I moved. I think I will have to throw away the headboard. More over before he leave. He was try trying to leave a huge cardboard box in my apartment, saying he won't bring this into his truck. Well, that's your box that you use for packing a queen bed???? Wow. I'm speechless. For the worst, I suspect the larger guy could be identity theft.  I'm paying with a card so he made me write down all my card infos on paper and also took a photo of my ID all together. It's weird because I don't have to do all this on the day that they pick up my stuffs. (I choose to pay with card and I split the payment in half on pick up date and half on delivery date.)  When he left, he took that paper, saying he keeps it as a proof but he already took a picture?? Just so you know if anything happens, I absolutely know where to find you. Oz will have to responsible for this too. He also didn't give me any copy of the receipt. Everything is so shady and not right. I choose to pay with card so I have a proof for myself, but maybe cash will be better option next time..... I just wanna add a little more, when they were unpacking my stuffs, every time that he held the knife I had a bad feeling because I was alone with them. We never know who the delivery crews will be.  But this company chosen junkies to work for them. Young, unprofessional and disrespectful. Also they dont tell you that if u have less that 300 cb ft they still charge u 300. Not sure who i was speaking to but the monotone assured me they didnt care about customers or buisness. Had to leave this review for my fellow yelpers. Please save ur self the time and attitude from those miserable women they have on the phone lines, i was recommended by a friend cause they do last minute jobs. Bait and switch movers was apparently too long a name. Pay attention to the man behind the curtain here because he's gonna double the guaranteed maximum cost like he did for us. Once they started loading our stuff suddenly the estimators guaranteed maximum price was no longer any of those things. The company took zero responsibility for their own estimate and held us and our stuff hostage. We were lucky to have a schedule flexible enough to cancel the move at that point. But the cost to us in inconvenience, their lies and rudeness and the disruption to our little children can't be qualified. Don't use these guys. They are a classic scam. They will estimate and guarantee one price and make you pay another. read more

A friend recommended Oz for my recent cross country move (Southern CA to upstate NY), and I couldn't be happier with how it went. Great communication with the LA office before the move, movers were professional and handled my things with care, and nothing was lost or damaged in transit. I received everything earlier than expected (even though I changed my plans for storage at the last minute), and I ended up paying about 60% less than every other moving company quoted me (with no hidden fees). I couldn't recommend Oz Moving less. From start to finish I had a horrible experience with them, including: the day of moving them being late, then telling me my items were a full $1,000 more than they quoted me initially, my items took a full 21 days to get to me (that's their 12 "calendar days" policy) The delivering movers telling me they were coming on one day, me waiting for them and then calling, only for them to say, actually we're coming tomorrow, our truck broke down. The next day their truck actually broke down, which resulted in me waiting around for them for a full 2 days. And then the final straw- my items looked absolutely beat up when they arrived. There was no care in wrapping them up- it just looked like they were thrown in the back of the truck. Items that were priceless were damaged, like a childhood rocking chair and a table someone hand-made me. And I'm not even going to bother to try and get reimbursed for any damages since they gave me the run around from day one with a fake $150 reimbursement for them being late, while adding another charge of the same amount, thus making the reimbursement $0. The main issue with this company is they don't contract out with quality movers or movers who will be professional and take good care of your stuff. I move frequently (every 10-12 months) and know how stressful it can be to find a quality moving company you can trust. I also have never been upset & shocked enough to post a negative review, until now. Oz Moving is not a company you should trust with your property, regardless of the positive reviews. We selected Oz because of the reviews here...careful what you believe. Moved from Brooklyn, NY to Austin, TX in April 2017. The crew that loaded the truck were great! On time, respectful and gentle with our belongings. The delivery, however, was late and poorly coordinated. Instead of a 8 hour window, the driver provided a 48 hour window. Upon arrival, everything was soaked and the boxes were nearly destroyed! These were BRAND NEW Uhaul boxes, which are designed to be reused. We invested in strong packing materials so our items could be immediately placed in storage as we travel for the next year. When the truck arrived, you will see all the boxes are soaked through, breaking open and crushed. Wardrobe boxes which held thousands of dollars in designer clothes were destroyed, with clothing exposed. We also paid Oz to professionally pack expensive art pieces. The first image is the Oz packed art work, which is obviously soaked through & damaged. We had to peel the packing off and dry the art work with towels. Also, they unwrapped our $8,000 Portuguese platform bed, the entire headboard was dripping wet. I personally had to wipe it dry with the sleeves of my shirt! After informing Oz of the state of our property, they refused to do anything except pay $80 for the trouble. We have had to buy new packing materials and repack all of our property. This took an entire weekend and cost over $200 in new materials. Even after sharing these pictures of the wet property, and pointing out the puddles in the back of the moving truck, OZ refused to admit the boxes were damaged, and claim their contractor company who delivered our property has never had issue. In other words, they don't care about quality or truth. After paying Oz over $2,200 (more expensive than most companies) we expected a quality of care and service that Oz COMPLETELY failed to provide. You have been warned folks, use at your own risk. Oz were great start to finish. They packed everything for my move. About 8 things were broken, out of an entire household of stuff, not a big deal. And several of those things were made of kind of chintzy wood. I would use them again in a heartbeat and would easily recommend them. Also, most moving companies charge extra if the moving truck is a certain distance away from the drop off destination, charge extra for going up a certain amount of stairs, etc etc. Oz doesn't charge extra for anything. A beautiful light fixture was broken and brand new lamp was lost during my move. Since my move was insured, I was assured that I could file a claim and be reimbursed for the cost of my items. Its now been 3 weeks and I've called, emailed and no one has even initiated a claim. When I called I spoke to a representative that told me that she couldn't file the claim for me and that I would have to wait to be contacted. Now 3 weeks later, no luck and no resolve! I am so disappointed by this. I put trust in this company to move my home. I trusted them with items that meant so much to me, and I'm so upset that this is the way my situation is being handled. It's almost as if they have no regard at all - they were paid in full so too bad for me. If you're looking for a reliable company to move your home, perhaps you should consider elsewhere. The stress and discouragement that resulted from me working with Oz Moving & Storage is something I wouldn't want anyone else to experience. read more

LOST HIGHEST VALUE ITEMS We contracted Oz Moving to move us from New York to San Francisco, paying over $6k for the move itself. During the initial moving phase, we were provided no information or given adequate briefing on the company's insurance policy for lost or broken items. Upon receiving delivery of the items in San Francisco, almost $5k worth of items were lost, almost all of which constituted our highest value items (golf clubs, expensive luggage, high-end vacuum cleaner). While the company has provided a settlement, the settlement does not even remotely cover the cost of the lost items, providing only $300 in total. When we called Oz, the settlement team noted that the sales team is supposed to provide upfront information on the insurance coverage and recommend a policy, but our sales rep obfuscated the insurance details and coverage risks during the initial sale process. Upon delivery the delivery team also claimed all boxes were delivered, despite clearly not counting the boxes, and when we raised the issue during delivery, claimed that all items in the truck had been offloaded. The company should have been more forthcoming regarding coverage and risks, and has made very little effort to amend the lost items. read more

I used Oz (Los Angeles) to move to Seattle from San Francisco. Oz people that I dealt with: Ingrid - Customer representative Carlos - Operations Department Manager Pros: 1) Quick and responsive booking process. 2) Quick and efficient movers 3) Reasonable pricing Cons: I was very unhappy with Oz in several instances, but I will only list one of them below. Short version: I had to drive 1 hour in the middle of day to receive unscheduled delivery due to Oz's bad communication. Yet, Oz (Ingrid and Carlos) do not acknowledge their mistake. Long version: 1) In August, Oz gave me a initial delivery time estimate of September 5 - September 7. 2) On September 3, Oz gave me a delivery estimate of September 6, 2019. 3) On September 4, I changed the delivery address, 35 miles away from the original delivery address. Oz asked me to pay $240 extra for the change of address, and I agreed. Oz stated that they would send me an email on September 5 whether the original delivery time frame of September 6, 2019 would hold or not. 4) On September 5, no email from Oz regarding delivery timing. I thought that Oz would contact me on September 6 to confirm the delivery timing. 5) On September 6, I got a call around 1pm from Oz's truck drivers that they would come to my house in an hour. At the time, I was 1 hour away from home. I had to drive 1 hour to get my luggage. 6) I called Ingrid and Carlos to complain about not informing me about the delivery time. I asked them to reduce or waive the $240 that Oz charged me for the change of address since I had to stop what I was doing and drove 1 hour to get home. Carlos refused and threatened me that he would order truckers to go away if I did not pay. He also threatened me that the he would charge me $150 per hour as the movers were waiting. After heated discussions, he agreed that he would refund me $240 if the error was Oz's fault. Thus, I paid $240. 7) As the entire conversation was done by email, I sent Carlos the email thread that indicated Oz's error and asked for refund of $240. 8) Carlos denies their wrongdoing although the email thread clearly indicates Oz's fault. He suggested contacting their customer service if I am not happy. I contacted the customer service a couple times, but they did not reply. read more

This is my 3rd move with Oz Moving, and it will be the LAST. The first two moves -- Los Angeles to the SF Bay Area and Menlo Park to San Jose -- went off without any glitches. The crew was experienced and took great care in my belongings, when packing, moving out of my home, loading and unloading. This past experience was awful! My family moved cross-country from SF Bay Area to Colorado, and paid well over $8,000 to have our items moved (some furnishings partially disassembled), boxes loaded and unloaded, and a handful of items reassembled. Our greatest concern is the lack of respect of our belongings, by the delivery team -- Eden's Moving Services of Colorado -- contracted through Oz Moving Company. Eden has a low level of quality for their work and our belongings -- in comparison to Oz. Many of our furnishings where damaged and broken, beyond repair and use -- I will be filing a claim soon. However, my greatest complaint comes with the lack of reassembly of our furnishings -- which we paid for. Eden had NO TOOLS to put together items, and almost seemed annoyed that I asked them to do so. Eden left our queen bed frame and our desk completely unassembled, blaming Oz for stripping the screws, and trying to convince me that's how the legs on the bed frame were to be positioned (they were inverted for shipping, as discussed with Oz in San Jose.) Needless to say, we had to go buy tools and reassemble the items on our own time + dime -- screws were not stripped, BTW. When I explained this to Oz, Allison B. the Claim's Manager, over the phone and in writing, with Monica O, the Service Agent, urging them to refunded us for the cost of shipping those two items, due to lack of reassembly, and reimburse us for the cost of the tools -- radio silence. Carlos says they've contracted with Eden multiple times and never had a concern. Again, we paid over $8,000 for this service. Lastly, I am posting photos of the damaged boxes, furnishings and the kicker -- my accomplishment gift, a chunky braided twist rug, from Restoration Hardware, priced well over a months rent -- but again this is the reason I feel comfortable with Oz -- NEVER AGAIN! Save yourself furnishings damages, and lost costs -- use UPack. I've had two friends move cross-country -- Texas to Colorado, and another SF Bay Area to Colorado -- with ZERO damages! read more

I have used OZ twice now to move and these guys are great - they know how to get large pieces of furniture into small doorways and stuff - managed several beds, dressers, exercise equipment, etc. Good attitudes, friendly guys. read more
