Been dying to go here, I met my husband here for the first time/first date and was so happy to see the layout of the place is the same. The decor is beautiful with vibrant artwork/displays. Looking forward to trying a margarita in the future, they looked good but I was headed into work. Had the carne asada-beef was tough but flavorful, salsa was fresh. It was ok but not great. However, I really loved their wings!! Tender, well spiced, juicy goodness. I'd come back for those and try something different next time. read more

We've come twice to Azul, first time finding it by chance before a game at Centerville Bank Stadium. My kids have been begging to go back so we went again after a game. Service was a bit slow our second time, but we had the most delicious food which made up for it. The chips and guac are to die for. My husband got a chicken quesadilla, which you think is just a quesadilla but there's something about it that makes you drool!! I got the grilled mahi tacos which were absolutely delicious and beautiful. It came with Spanish rice and beans, which had great flavor. My son got a burrito and was very happy with that. It also came with chips, guac, salsa and sour cream. My daughter got the Americano burger, both times we went, and had been waiting a year to get it again. It did not disappoint. She said it's the best burger she's ever had. Really delicious and I can't wait to go back again and try some more stuff!! Also the decor is so fun and festive. I really enjoy Azul!! read more

This place is such an upgrade on the tired old Irish pub that used to sit here along the highway. You gotta get the Molcajete and attempt to eat the entire thing yourself. It's like a Mexican-themed David Cronenberg body horror experience, but still very much recommended! read more

I ordered a burrito and my fiancé order the birria tacos. The birria meat wasn't seasoned well. The drinks were strong which was the best part of the meal. If you're from Pawtucket/RI It was the Old Ground Round that was then Murphy's and is now Azul! First and foremost- it's decorated very nice inside. Think bright colors- a real nod to traditional Mexican heritage. Spacious and clean. Saturday night, 6pm. The parking lot was packed and smelt of sizzling meat. No wait inside though. Our waiter Alex was attentive, nice and got our order 100% correct. The host checked in on us twice as well. Kudos for the customer service. The margaritas were large (even the small) and there were a few options. I stuck to my fruity strawberry with sugar rim. Wish it was a little more fruity than boozy but that's just me. The food: My husband and daughter both ordered birria tacos. No complaints- they dug in. My son had a kids cheese quesadilla meal with fries. large portion! Also, their fries are tasty! They tasted like your favorite mom and pop burger place. I went with the chorizo tacos but i did ask for some cheese on them. Tasty! The refried bean was salty and delicious. The rice needed some flavoring but I added in a little of my daughters consume and salt with a hint of lime. My family walked away and we agreed, we would come back to Azul! read more

Very warm and welcoming when you first enter. The decor and ambiance is typical upscale Mexican restaurant. We were greeted by a very kind gentleman and shown to a table. We finally ordered drinks after waiting almost 15 minutes and then he immediately came back and took our food orders. We had to ask for water refills and we're not told about the extra charges for chips and dip. My husband requested extra tortillas and there was a surcharge for that as well. The food was not anything to write home about, standard rice and beans accompanied my Carnitas. This restaurant is very inviting with the wall art decor, the lighting choices, our server was very attentive, the food was really good, we had tacos 3 types very fresh we had the 3 combo fajitas very fresh the beef is skirt steak, so it tends to be a little rough, however it was still very tasty, the churros were yummy and the drinks were also pretty good. Beautiful decor can't make up for slow service and an over priced menu. One martini, one cantarito, chips, salsa, queso dip and a cheese quesadilla $63.00, before gratuity. That is just wild to me. The queso dip was so greasy I was scooping the excess grease out with a spoon. They came with floppy corn tortillas? I had may two bites, not worth $17, two dollars more than what's printed on the menu. Our serve hardly made contact with our table even though we were seated right next to the server station. Overall, with so many other authentic Mexican grills in the area, I'd rather have good food than a fancy wall made of fake flowers to look at. read more

Azul recently opened over here and so I went in for lunch over the weekend. I got the queso fundito and a quesadilla. The service was very friendly though a bit slow. And everyone there was so nice. It was decorated so cute that I could see coming here for dinner. I probably wouldn't go in for lunch again because it was on the expensive side for what we got. Getting one appetizer and one entrée with a soda was over $50. Which was a lot for lunch. The music was great, albeit super loud. We were one of the only tables there and could barely hear each other over how loud they keep the music.. All said and done I would definitely go back depending on what I'd order. Food is OK but no detectable spiciness to be found anywhere. Great for granny's sensitive tummy but we like a little heat and nothing we ordered had it. Portions are a bit skimpy - especially considering the prices (most entrees are $24 to $38). Music is way too loud (all reggaeton). Not sure how blasting Bad Bunny is conducive to pricey dining. We picked the cheapest things on the menu, had only 1 soda (no booze), and an order of chips and (ultra-mild) salsa (no refills offered) which they charge for while at every other local place they're free and unlimited. The bill was $80 with tip. Great option if you're staying in the attached hotel, but otherwise the owners may need to consider improving the value, portion size, and vibe (and maybe invest in a couple jalapeños?). read more

Usually I'm batting close to 1000% when it comes to recognizing cringe factor. I see these prices and can't imagine they will stay in business for a long time. Al pastor taco's for 17.99?? Burrito's for 17.00?? Fajitas for 26.99??All seem quite high, This is not South Park Ave in New York. I may be wrong about this place but these prices don't seem to fit the market. Central Falls has plenty of Mexican food restaurants at prices much more reasonable. Usually a restaurant has items to get into the menu, here it's high on basically everything. Azul Tequila Bar & Mexican Grill opened recently at the Hampton Inn in Pawtucket. Formerly Murphy's Law, Azul serves up a variety of Mexican American dishes & items, as well as a variety of cocktails, margaritas, tequila, beer and wine. The place offers ample tables and booths and seating up at the bar. The place has plenty of flatscreen TVs and day of the dead artwork/murals. The prices are moderate high. I stopped by Azul Tequila Bar for Friday dinner recently. I was seated up at the bar and given a menu. The bartenders were nonstop very busy and it took a while to place my order. I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos ($18.99 plus tax) and Chips & Salsa ($4.50 plus tax) to start. The basket of crunchy chips were served warm with a pureed mild spicy tomato salsa, pretty good. The entrée took about 30 minutes to be served. The three quesabirria tacos were very hot to the touch, filled with stewed beef & melted cheese, topped with cilantro, consume provided for dipping & lime wedges on the side. I did chew on a fatty piece in one of the tacos, otherwise good. The Mexican rice (soft) & soft refried beans with cheese were served in separate smaller bowls, pretty standard. I finished all of the food and requested the check since the bartenders were going nonstop at making drinks and I needed to head home. The check was $25.37 with tax and before tip. Overall, dinner at Azul was pretty good considering the place was very busy on a Friday night. There was also a convention going on in nearby PVD too. read more

The best thing about this restaurant was the decorations. The worst thing was having a 20% gratuity added to a party of 2 especially when the bill was less than $100 We came in and it was practically empty, yet our server was really inattentive and it took more than 10 minutes for us to get our drinks. Food was decent enough, the serving of mole sauce I got for my mole left a lot to be desired. I still for the life of me cannot understand why a 20% gratuity was added for a party of 2. I've worked in the restaurant industry for a long while and have never seen something as insane as that. Truly a one and done type of experience, seriously not worth the price. read more

I mean when you drive by this place you don't expect much - sort of an industrial chain Mexican vibe - but that's not their fault - hooked to a hotel and a former Ground Round there's only so much you can do on the outside. Inside is good - bright and good music vibe - there aren't a lot of dark romantic Mexican places so I'm. Glad this place doesn't try - but so far - the standout is the food. Tried the Cocinita Pibil and it was really impressive - I've had this dish in a Myan village and I've made it myself from a recipe given to me from someone who's mother only speaks maya - so there's a lot of variability in the flavor - sort of like mole - but the tenderness was spectacular and the habanero salsa (you need to ask for) is amazing. Not hot enough on the tongue but don't wipe your eyes with it. Overall a surprisingly positive Mexican food experience. read more

I've been to Azul twice, once with family and once by myself. The decor is simple but classic, and the "Blue" theme is cohesive and pleasant. The music- reggaeton primarily- was fitting, but a little too loud for a pleasant sit down restaurant experience. I surmise it fits their bar area better, though. The staff is attentive and friendly, though they do tend to hustle you along somewhat especially if you're taking up a table and not having alcohol (as was the case for me both times I went). The food is the star here. Fresh, flavorful, authentic, hot, and unique recipes. I ordered two varieties of tacos, and other people in my party got the Chile Relleno and a Burrito. Everything was delicious! Value is a sticking point for Azul, though. Without alcohol, my party of 3 surpassed $80 the first time we went without a fancy appetizer... just chips and salsa, which they charge about $4 for when everyone else provides them for free. When I went back myself, drinking water and skipping appetizer entirely, I still spent $25. And the portions are a little small across the board to justify that kind of price. The greatest sin of Azul is their commitment to mild food. In what I can only assume is a swing at mass appeal, they simply do not have a spicy offering. The food is delicious, but if you're looking for heat, there isn't much to find. Overall, a nice enough treat, but a questionable value, definitely intended more as a bar than a restaurant. If you must get Mexican food in Pawtucket, you can do a lot worse, but your money could go a lot further elsewhere. read more

CHECK YOUR BILL. Family of 3 met up with 3 more families to celebrate a birthday. Server Brian was attentive but food was a little slow to arrive & an extra beer was added to the table 'our mistake...no charge' HOWEVER...when checking my bill at end of the night we over overcharged for the extra beer, 2 extra children's drink an an extra chips and salsa. I brought it to Brians attention who told me it was added from our friends bill. Having discussed it later with friends, we were all overcharged. Mine was an extra of $22 then add 20% gratuity & tax. read more

The music is so loud in hear people have to yell just to hear each other. The food was not even good for the price. You have to pay for chips. The service was alright. We could see our server just talking to his friends and didn't even notice we were waiting for him. It has nice decorations but it feels like you were paying more for the experience than the food. We just finished our second meal at Azul. (We were staying at the hotel while visiting family. ) The first night had guacamole, chips, salsa and two Mexicana salads-one with beef and the other with chicken. Both were delicious. Today for lunch we spit a caesar salad and taquitos. Again a great meal. Fresh and crispy lettuces, good flavor for all dishes. I do agree with one reviewer saying it's not very spicy. Very expensive for a cuisine based around rice and beans. I had the crispy jumbo wings that were neither crispy nor jumbo for $16. Two bucks a wing is a bit over the top. The taste is unique however. Portions are meager for the "big city prices!" Service is ok. If you want to enjoy your dinner, I recommend bringing ear plugs and talk to your friends via text! The music was so loud we ate as quickly as possible to get out! I think they need to lower their prices and/or up the portion size as well as turn down the music volume. They also charge for chips and salsa x now that's a first. I really like Mexican food, but for these prices I'll go elsewhere. The bar is right on top of the dining room and there is no escaping the volume of the music or rowdy drinkers. When we went, there was an especially loud couple who had clearly been overserved, arguing at the bar throughout our entire meal. The manager apologized but having big screens all around the bar are going to attract that kind of crowd and will never make for a comfortable dining experience in such an open space.. The margaritas are ok. The food was on the bland side and way overpriced for the portion sizes. It's unforgivable to charge for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant! AZUL will be in big trouble when Banditos opens on Armistice Blvd. read more
