They gave me clear, experience‑based guidance on what service was actually necessary, offered solid maintenance advice, and even saved me money by steering me away from work that didn't need to be done. My buddy and I were on a 3 day 1000+ mile ride when, due to being an absolute amazing rider and using the front tire to the maximum (or stupidly thinking it was still good to go after 10k miles), I wore through it to the cords on day 2. Showed up unannounced to Ozzie's and without hesitation they put me in front of the other work, tossed a tire on, and didn't absolutely pillage me on the price. What a pleasure to be able to write a positive review! After being treated by a BMW dealer in the Sacramento area like I was not worth their time I was referred to Ozzie's. I called and spoke with Jessee where I told him about my recent experience and frustration. Jessee treated me like I was a friend he had know his whole life. I bought the bike over the phone and drove to Chico to pick it up the next day. Upon my arrive I was greeted by Jessee who had all documents ready for my signature. We live up in Trinity County and so it was a toss-up whether to take our BMWs to Medford or Chico for servicing but many years ago, we heard great stuff about Ozzie's and went their direction. We never looked back. From the first time I rolled in on my 1150 RT and met the crew, I was impressed. Ozzie was still alive then and he was the epitome of an Old World, Old School businessman. He said there was only one way to do the right thing and that's how Ozzie's operates. Fast forward to a recent trip to Ozzie's for my husband's 1200c Phoenix. He removed our dog Buf's sidecar and trailered the bike down. While waiting for it, he biked around Bidwell Park with Buf and they both loved it. (The whole town is really cool.) They were back home by early evening. The next day, Jessee (Ozzie's grandson who is now in charge) called to say David, the mechanic who worked on the Phoenix, found a shim in the parts cleaner. It goes in the rear-end of the bike. There was no mention of any other solution than for David to drive up, pick up the Phoenix, take it back to Chico, install the shim and then drive it back up. Imagine that! By comparison, a friend has a Harley that sat most of the summer of 2020 in the Redding HD dealership waiting for replacement of custom throttle cables they installed that did not work at all. HD kept trying to ding him for charges for their screw-ups! When David arrived to pick up the Phoenix, Buf was elated! She was quite a star at the shop where they are solid dog people. David strapped down the Phoenix and was scratching Buf prior to departure when I got the idea to send my RT down for a tune-up. It would help defray some of the costs of them coming for the Phoenix and I usually wait too long before servicing my bike, anyway. Why not take advantage of the free pick-up and delivery? (I must admit though Buf was not at all pleased to see David drive away with her bike.) The turnaround for both bikes was just a day or two and this time, Jessee brought them back. We kept telling him how impressed we were. Since only Ozzie's works on our bikes, we wouldn't have known what caused a problem with the missing shim. But Ozzie's would know. And OZZIE would know. I'm pretty sure he still keeps his twinkling eyes looking down on his beloved shop. No wonder riders routinely drive hundreds of miles to patronize Ozzie's. We do, happily. And Buf was enchanted to have our third Ozzie's guy arrive at our cabin. (#1 was Billy. Years ago, he rode up after work to install a part that had been back-ordered. We did reward him for his effort, but he didn't have to do it.) One last thing: I've been in a fair number of bike shops over the decades and have never been treated better--which for me means like one of the guys, not some oddity or someone to be ignored because I'm a woman. Ozzie's customer service is legendary and people really do come from hundreds of miles to visit this BMW Motorad dealership for sales and service. Sadly, Ozzie passed away several years ago now but his wife Emmi, grandson Jesse, Mike & The Mechanics, and the rest of the staff have kept the shop going based on Ozzie's original values: customer first, no BS, fair prices. Now in my second decade of having my machines serviced here, I've traveled 200+ miles every time. I live 90 minutes away from Ozzies but after receiving ridiculous service quotes from my local BMW dealer to service my K1200LT, I made the trip north and so glad I did. Ozzie's is an "old school" type shop and not a foo-foo nose-turned-up boutique. The mechanics are available to you and actually invite you into their shop to explain what they are doing. You aren't dealing through a Service Advisor (salesman). Mechanic "Mike" was simply great, calling me to explain what he was finding, and then even called me the day after I took it home to make certain I was happy. Now, servicing my LT is not cheap, but Ozzie's went above and beyond for me, and I felt their charges were reasonable, and less costly than the BMW boutique nearby. I have been riding my RT since 2012. I bought it at A&S which is just down the road, but had always heard good things about Ozzie's shop. While A&S does good work, and has about anything you might want for your bike, I often felt 'lost in the shuffle' of the mega-dealer mentality. So, when I had a rare free day, I rode to Chico to check this shop out. Ozzie's is exactly what most of the reviews here have stated. It is a small family run business that still subscribes to the personal customer service we all wish we could get everywhere. I had the pleasure to talk to Ozzie himself several times before he passed, and each time was a pleasure. His grandson Jessie has the shop now, and the customer service has remained steady. They treat me so well that, time willing, I will travel the 80 miles to Chico for my motor service needs rather than the 10 minute drive to A&S. Ozzie and his shop is a legend among BMW enthusiasts. I have personally known Ozzie since 1982, and he always goes above and beyond when it comes to service. I know stories about Ozzie where... someone called his shop needing a part. They were broken down, over 50 miles from Ozzie's shop. Ozzie didn't have the replacement part in stock. Ozzie's solution? He took the part off of a BRAND NEW motorcycle he had for sale, and DROVE it out to them, and installed it. You cannot beat service or reputation like that. To this day, I have a 1985 K100 RT BMW motorcycle. Parts are always in stock - for a 25-yr old motorcycle. I know many BMW riders who travel over 100 miles to get their tune-ups and service at Ozzies. Because they trust him. For those who might complain that "this shop is a joke" because the hours are not posted in the window? Because this shop was closed at the exact minute you needed something? Shame on you. read more

I live a couple of hours from the closest BMW shop, which is Ozzie's, so a tuneup for my RT is a rarity. Last time I was there was many years ago. However, when I had a mysterious oil leak last year after an oil change at the Redding Kawasaki shop & they couldn't figure it out, I called Ozzie's. Lilly suggested I ordered a new oil cap (it was a piece of crap Wunderlich with BMW logo, which fell off; the cap did not fit well) and the internal neck, and it's been fine ever since, but the bike sure did need servicing. I finally got down there a few days ago, arriving at closing so the bike would be cold next morning. Realizing they had a big job and that I really needed to get out of there next day, Ozzie's tag-teamed my bike with two mechanics. As before, they were pro, friendly, knowledgeable and my bike runs like a dream once again. Nowhere, and I mean nowhere, have I run across a BMer rider who has had anything but great things to say about the shop. Too bad Hans pitched a fit, but he never experienced Ozzie's when they're open. He should just stay in the bay area, I guess. One more thing about Ozzie's: Unlike a lot of bike shops, they treat women well. No pandering; none of that, "Sure you can ride a big bike like this?" and crap like that. read more

Ozzie's rocks! I was on vacation broke down stuck in the middle of nowhere, 90 mile tow to Ozzie's. Called Ozzie's to let them know I was coming, might arrive after hours, would it be ok to leave my bike out front. They said that's fine, and advised me on the finer points of BMW bike towing as they've seen bikes arrive improperly strapped down, causing additional damage. I arrive well after hours, shop mechanic was just driving out of the parking lot. Calls Ozzie (he did not have the keys) and he drives over from his house to unlock the shop and pull my bike in. Ozzie drives me to a nearby hotel and gets me a 20% discount. They get my bike up and running first thing in the AM, allowing me to salvage the rest of my vacation. Ozzie's a class act. We need little shops like this around, please support them. I suspect BMW isn't to keen on the mom and pop shops anymore. Not every BMW shop needs to be a "superstore". I had my 2016 S1000XR in for service earlier this week and was really impressed with this shop. First off they were able to get me in with very short notice; (I live closer to the Reno dealer but their next appointment was 6 weeks out, for a 2 hour job!) Jesse took great care of my needs and caught something I missed on an accessory install. BMW shops like this are too few and far between these days; substance, knowledge and competence over glitzy showrooms and pushy salespeople! I'll be back! read more

This outfit is a joke. You would think that a premier brnad like BMW keeps better taps on their dealer since they represent the brand. I suffered a clutch failure last weekend and needed to get towed. The nearest dealer was this one. The first thing I needed to know was their opening days and hours. Their website does not list them, calling them you end up with a generic message: You have reached 530 bla bla, please leave a message" When we got there, there were no hours posted on the building or door. Figuring that this unprofessionalism will most likely extend to their work, I decided to get my bike towed all the way to the Bay area. At least here we have dealers that deserve that name. read more

I'm not going to leave a long review...just gotta confirm what everyone says here. Fuel pump went out on a road trip. Called Chris, got towed in. Chris and Jesse worked a fuel pump replacement into a complete packed service schedule and had me back on the road in 4-5 hours while I waited at Starbucks across the street. These guys are great. The hourly is 75.00 a lot less than the 90.00 I pay at home in Hollywood. Jesse and the mechanic stayed an hour after closing to make sure my k1200r was put back together and in working order. Update- called again, spoke with someone else, and since they cannot get the tires I want, they did the install, and are interested in finding out how the tires wear and last. Their hours show no respect for the working man, closing at 5 on weekdays. But I went in anyway, and the young guy behind the counter didn't understand replacing rear tire only- adventure bike riders often replace rear tires twice as fast as front, and they don't need to be the same brand or exact style. Then he says he must replace the tube as well, good or bad. A month later I called to see if they had a set of tires that I want based on reviews. They don't carry them, their distributor doesn't carry them, and if I buy them from revzilla they won't 'feel comfortable" installing them. Same guy. read more

After they worked on my BMW/2 I noticed an unusual noise emanating from the engine/transmission and Mike, their lead mechanic, offered come by my house while visiting relatives near by and suggested what he thought it was (which turned out to be nothing major) now "IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAT THAT" does it? Never have I had better or even comparable service from anyone, any place for any reason. They went so far out of their way to make me happy, I now consider the 4.5 hour one way trip from my home immaterial, and wouldn't think of trusting my wheels to anyone else. Since that first visit, I have heard numerous and only glowing accolades from others (in the know) regarding Ozzie's. And, Chico rocks too. Great town with spectacular riding opportunities. A service/vacation if you will. Look. You don't stay in business 30 plus years operating as Hans has suggested. Sorry Hans. Bad call. read more

There's a range of views here, and I can see how they would all be true. Ozzies is basically a family-run business, and like any family, they kinda run things by their own rules, so a lot depends on who you are dealing with at the moment. Likewise I have had some great experiences there, and some pretty outrageously unprofessional ones as well (and we all know which ones really stick with us the most)! For example, the legendary Ozzie himself is getting on in years, and probably oughta retire, but obviously never will. So in the meantime, some days you might get a guy who is very personable and helpful, and other days someone who will lecture you (and I mean LECTURE) on how things are done in GERMANY (and by extension, how presumably, you, the customer, are not maintaining YOUR german-made machine to HIS standards... LOL)! And Ozzie isn't the only one there with that attitude! So it's a quirky place and Ozzie is sorta the last of a breed. But Chico is a small town and his shop is the only BMW cycle dealer for miles, short of Sacramento and A&S Cycle there (who BTW, are quite good), and it's not like there are a lot of other local options... yet! I have no doubt about their mechanics, its the overall attitude and erratic "customer service" thats the issue, and If I have no other choice, will reluctantly take my chances there. But minor stuff like batteries, lube and tires, there are competent alternatives in town as well, that are less, um, unpredictable. Otherwise, if you have deep pockets and don't mind surrendering your machine and your dignity to the "authorities" at Ozzies, you'll do fine! read more

My first experience with Ozzie's was in 2008, when a friend and I were riding to Bellingham, WA to catch the AK Maritime Ferry, Columbia, to Alaska. We were on I-5 when I noticed he was no longer behind me. In the distance, I saw him pushing his new 1200GS along the shoulder. He called BMW and they said someone was coming from Ozzie's to tow us. He didn't think they were going to have the part and that we wouldn't make the AK ferry. When the tow arrived, it was none other than Ozzie Auer himself. He loaded both our bikes on the trailer. Amazingly, they had the 1200GS part, and we were back on the road in a few hours, and at our first stop in Oregon that same night. Have had my motorcycles serviced there and order parts, though I live 400 miles away. Excellent customer service in that everyone working there loves what they are doing. They love the brand, the sport, have the expertise and can talk to customers in laymen's terms. It is an excellent shop. read more

I purchased a used BMW motorcycle from a friend last summer. The prior owner did a lot of his own work, so I did not know what was needed. The mechanic at Ozzie's checked it over thoroughly and told me what was needed right away and what I should be aware of in the near future. The safety of the motorcycle rider is a top priority with them, which I really appreciate. I have had some other work done since then and they are consistently thorough, reasonable in cost, and trustworthy. read more

How does one convey the absolutely amazing service I was given right off the street. On some idle Tuesday I get a wild hair up my rear and decide I need an adventure bike. With my wife's work schedule (she's a nurse who works nights.) the only time I have to drive from Redding allows me to arrive about one hour before closing on a Friday afternoon. The team at Ozzie's gives no pressure, and go over everything about the 1200gs adventure, from ESA to how to change the oil if necessary. All this as the clock ticks down toward closing time. Finally I decide to purchase a beautiful 90th anniversary model of the large adventure bike. While I fill out paperwork, the team sets the bike up, even leaving to a store to buy chocolate milk for my kids, who were losing interest in daddy's new toy as the time stretched. As I'm about to leave, well after closing time, we find that our wife's car had been left on, and the battery had died. Jesse tracks down a portable jumper for us... This reviewer got lucky, before I purchased an R 1200 GS Adventure, the subject came up in a conversation with a long-time rider who highly recommended Ozzie's. He knew what he was talking about, Ozzie's is a smaller dealership with owners and staff ready to have a conversation and with a deep, deep range of knowledge. Large corporate dealerships have their place, but if you like to talk about your bike rather than the weather or the stock market, this is an excellent place to go. Ozzie's sucks. It's too small, they don't offer drinks and snacks, they're out in BFE! The hours aren't posted, they don't carry a lot of gear, inside is old and outdated, the chairs aren't leather, they only have a few bikes on the floor, I didn't like the color scheme in the bathroom, I saw a smudged fingerprint on the window, the toilet paper wasn't scented, oh please! All these lame asses can do is fix your bike better (a lot better) than anyone around. Worth the drive if all you want is your baby done right. read more

I bought my S1000R here but I was visiting the shop for months before I even made that purchase. Everyone here is extremely friendly and interested in helping you as a person, not just as a customer. Chris has stayed late, after business hours, to accommodate my work schedule. Also, the service cost for my motorcycle was literally 50% of what other BMW dealers were offering.
