Wow I can't believe I didn't update this review earlier. Shame on me. I've dined here a handful of times during COVID and the staff is fantastic. I don't know why I had such a poor experience that one day but it clearly was an off day. Since that day, I've had nothing but impeccable service, and delicious food. What makes all GAR restaurants stand out is their ability to modify and accommodate any and all food items to fit every diners' needs. In regards to Covid, Ozzies does an incredible job at socially distanced seating, outdoor dining, efficient & safe to go orders, and all around fantastic service and food. If you're looking for a Covid Conscious restaurant, here's the place to be! I typically order the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. The shrimp are large Butterfly Shrimp in a delectable light spicy tomato sauce. The portion is large enough for me to have another dinner and I love the fact that their pasta is freshly made in house. You can certainly taste a difference. I've also on many occasion ordered the Salmon and the following starters: Arancini, Tex Mex Eggrolls, and Lobster Bisque. All of these items are delicious and I really enjoy the menu at this GAR establishment. If you're looking for an exceptional experience, look no further, GAR is the way to go! read more

It's been a while since we have been here... in general I love the GAR group and each location has things that are great and some that we'll need a bit of work If I was going to base my rating just in good they would get a 4. These folks should get a 5 but there were some issues that lost the star. First issue is one of special requests. They make their cesar salad with romaine and kale. Unfortunately I restrict my vitamin k due to my blood thinners... kale and other dark greens like spinach I try snd avoid do as yo not mess up my meds... assuring me they can do just romaine we ordered... unfortunately our salad had some kale mixed in... we choose to pick out those pieces as opposed to sending it back. We did tell the waiter and the manager then stopped. We told her we were working around the bits as opposed to sending it back... however for those that order with allergies double snd triple check when you order... luckily my issue while medical won't kill her if I eat it. My second issue is on the pasta... we ordered the shrimp and lobster fra diavolo. We like things spicy and on this dish we will typically add a dash of Tabasco. Unfortunately we were told they don't have but had crystal hot sauce I believe... a totally different taste... while I didn't then ask my husband comment he would bet the bar has as a Bloody Mary would use Tabasco... if this matters to you ... bring your own or check at the bar. So why the three? Service and table placement. We were sat at a two top booth which I initially excepted. However things came out so fast there wasn't room on the table to finish our salad. They weren't crowded so could have easily sat us at a larger booth . As it was Easter I didn't request on being sat but the pace of the meal makes that booth two small when things come out right after one another. It also seemed like once the manager came over yo talk yo us that was basically the last we saw if our waiter... no one asked if I wanted another soda or a glass of wine... my husband asked about port as he enjoys that after dinner and was told they didn't have any which is fine but there was no suggestion about any other after dinner drinks... Last issue was the women's restroom. I did tell front host staff the problem. The door on the handicap stall won't close easily... to get it shut do I could lock it I had to slam it shut... hopefully they will adjust the doors to make the stall easily usable by those who need it. My issues are in my legs so I could slam it but most can't! So taking everything the rating from food to service to issues in the rest room they all took a hit on the stars! read more

Decent American food, but kinda overpriced. There's nothing unique about Ozzie's in my opinion. But their rolls are pretty good. Unfortunately I'm TRYING to get my abs back so I couldn't indulge in the rolls like I usually do. Gotta cut out bread rolls to remove the belly rolls, ya know? I got the pasta with veggies and chicken and thought it was good. Just not worth the money because I can cook the same thing for 1/5 the cost. Service was excellent though!! It took a long time to get our food... maybe a half an hour - 45 min and the restaurant was quite empty. Had to ask for our waiter. Then our food started to show up. He thought we had already gotten served so he wasn't keeping an eye out! I politely asked him to let the manager know. I got the bill and he had not let the manager know, and was trying to ignore the fact -I asked him to do so!! I asked him to talk to the manager, and he offered to send a manager to our table but I said not to. ( my in-laws were with us). He sent the manager anyways. The manager apologized and took two out 5 entrées off of our bill which was excellent service. I still tipped him close to the original amount! Staples: Brick chicken - love the lemony sauce, brings all the flavors together. This is one of the GAR offerings that is in their portfolio. As expected, the food and service are solid. We ordered the fried calamari, ozzie rolls, lobster & shrimp fra diavolo, drunken ribeye, and the white chocolate bread pudding. Normally calamari can be quite rubbery and bouncy, but this calamari was surprisingly tender and didn't give much resistance to a normal bite. The crust maintained some integrity with the pool of marinara sauce at the bottom of the plate, all well seasoned. I've tried the rolls at Artie's, and they are the same of course; crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The butter accompaniment is always a nice touch that enhances the eating experience. The lobster and shrimp fra diavolo was quite tasty as well, again, the crustaceans were not overcooked and right on the money with the texture and flavor. The ribeye was good as well, but it was slightly grizzled with excess fat and a slightly overseasoned to my tastes but I'm being picky at this point. I would absolutely come here again and try their huge variety as it seems GAR execution and service is consistently on point. read more

I know I know. I can't believe I'm here docking a star. Ozzie's has always been a fav of mine but they are no longer consistent and for that, I must make an update after all these years. My favorites are still the salmon, hanger steak, and crazy lasagna. I most recently ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Fra Diavolo pasta to switch it up and it was simply not good. It's a pretty dish, but the pasta sauce was bland and not spicy at all. Rao's marinara is better than this. Not to mention for $30, my shrimp was not deveined and the lobster was overcooked. Very much enjoyed my first time at Ozzie's. Had the Ozzie bread and arancini as starters. The mango martinis tasted so delicious just wished it was filled to the top! Been here numerous times with my family and boyfriend. This place never disappoints and everyone is always feeling happy and full. I absolutely love the free bread they give out in the beginning of the meal and the butter is so yummyyyyy. My favorite dishes to get is the shrimp pasta! This dish is always my go to dish, because its flavorful and i LOVE shrimp. Another favorite of mine is the crazy lasagna. IT IS SO CHEESEY AND SO GOOD. Food is almost always 5-star, but they are getting obnoxious with seating parties of 6-8 people which what it takes for our family dinner. I called and requested one of the tables on the upper platform for our party of 7. They refused and insisted on jamming us into a booth. They used to let us sit up there but apparently all the upper tables are now 4 tops, and they would not budge. An even larger family got jammed into the booth next to us, and they were practically spilling into the walkway. My steak was cooked perfectly, but I could barely cut it without elbowing my daughter. This wkend our kids ordered from the kids menu and got chocolate milk, the bar tender used the alcohol stirrer to mix in the chocolate into their milk, so I sent them back, but I find it weird that had I not observed this, that staff actually believed this is normal practice and believe this to be safe. read more

All the Great American Restaurants impress me. They're a bit pricey for what you get but it's always been good quality food and drinks. I LOVE their jambalaya pasta (more like Cajun pasta) and I get it practically every time. Recently, I tried their warm goat cheese & spiced pecan salad and it was very good. I've missed restaurant dining! I came here for a family dinner the other evening, and thought Ozzie's did a great job adapting its service to COVID, including the proper spacing of indoor tables. Service in general was also very friendly and food came quickly, solid choice for dinner in Fairfax Corner when you're craving a bit of American Italian. We had the calamari appetizer to start, which was a crowd favorite. The onion straws are a tasty addition to this dish! I had the lobster & shrimp fra diavolo, which came with what I thought was a very generous portion of both shrimp and lobster. My favorite part of this dish may have been the pasta itself, which was very well cooked and paired very well with the spicy sauce! For dessert, we shared the warm flourless chocolate waffle. You can't really go wrong with anything chocolate in my book, but wow! Good thing the waffle wasn't too big, or else I would've well exceeded my sugar quota for the day. I broke my keto diet for their ozzy rolls... and it was worth it. Was in the area to see a private movie screening at cinemark and came here on a sunday afternoon with a group of 7. We picked Ozzie's because they were large enough to host a big party. Outdoor seating is also available and spacious. Indoors is distanced as well and the waiters/host are attentive and courteous. The interior has high ceilings with picture frames and murals on the wall with an old school americana vibe. Fancy enough for a business lunch, without being too expensive. Menus are QR code based, so be sure to ask for the code if they forget to give you the code. Our party ordered 3 baskets of rolls. I thought it was going to be overkill since i don't like bread very much (b/c gluten sensitivity/keto). I was wrong. I ate half the basket myself and could have finished it if I didn't have to share. Eat roll is the size of my palm. 2 bites and its gone. The texture is soft, pillowy and chewy similar to the texture of a fresh Krispy Kreme doughnut. Each basket is served with a honey butter of some sort. Very tasty. Totally worth the hype. I got the slow roasted beef dip, and switched my side of fries for broccolini. Bread was sturdy enough to hold the sandwich and soft enough that it didn't cut up the top of my mouth. The beef was tender and medium rare. It would have been even better if there were some caramelized onions and cole slaw... but a girl can dream. The broccolini was surprisingly really good. Buttery and garlicky! A little pricey (around $20?) but not terrible considering it was a sit-down restaurant. Overall A. My friends got the crab cake, fried chicken sandwich and brunch burger. They all enjoyed their dishes. The waiter was patient and down to earth, and offered to give us individual bills which was very thoughtful. Bathrooms were clean. They had paper towels, hand dryers, and also facial tissues which was a nice touch. Parking is free with a spacious open lot, since it's located in an outdoor shopping plaza. And ... you can specifically reserve an outdoor spot via RESY. Regarding the menu, several very tasty items to choose from. The family members with me enjoyed the Wood Grilled Hanger Steak (which was cooked to perfection) and Linguini & Shrimp Fra Diavolo. I was looking for something a bit simpler, so I went with the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich ... and I was quite pleased with my selection. The chicken was lightly breaded and very tender ... dressed well with lettuce, mayo, and mustard. Yum! As always, the wait staff was very professional and courteous. Wow, what a rare find!! Took our daughter to lunch before leaving her for college, and found Ozzie's. We were greeting and seated immediately. Our servers were young, polite, and extremely attentative. The husband ordered the burger, I had the Charleston chicken salad, and my daughter had the chicken parmasean. Everything was freshly prepared and presented with class. Dessert, oh my, this topped the rating with fresh made whip cream (it looked like ice cream), woe, delicious homemade apple pie! Our waiter didn't know what bottled water was and then refused to serve our table when asked for sparkling bottled water. Is that even legal? He said "we don't have that" and I simply told him that they certainly do, and to check for it. He never returned to the table and no other wait staff attended to our table for over 30 minutes. We are big tippers and big spenders, but this is the first time in my entire life I have seen a waiter completely melt down when asked politely for sparkling bottled water. It's not my fault your wait staff doesn't know what bottled water is. Shockingly poor service. Will not be returning here or to any other location in this restaurant group again. A few ordered drinks to which they all loved, however, they were quite small. Ozzie Rolls (5/5) - The infamous warm rolls with whipped butter. Words cannot describe how good these are. They have a thin every so slightly crisp crust with the fluffiest most delicious warm center. The whipped butter just completes everything. Charleston Salad (5/5) - I subbed the fried chicken for grilled chicken which was still delicious. The dressing was just the right about (I hate when my salads are drowning in dressing), all the components complimented each other. I usually don't like raisins/cranberries in my salads, but these added just the right amount of sweetness. The candied pecans are the true shining ingredient in this salad. The delicious toasted nuttiness mixed with the candied sweetness - it just hits the mark. I would definitely return to Ozzie's for another occasion. read more

We went on Christmas eve around lunch time amd were pleasantly surprized that they were open. However, because it was a Sunday, they had a brunch menu going on until 3 PM. We should've read the detail on their website because we were really looking forward to their lunch menu. Nonetheless, I had ordered a salmon dish with my salad which was a part of their brunch menu and my salmon was cooked to perfection. I truly enjoyed my salmon and salad dish and would definitely order this dish again. The Ozzie balls or fried pieces of dough covered in cinnamon sugar served with they whipped butter. I personally could've done without the cinnamon sugar dusting but they were still good. That's all I've got. read more
