Dog all the way and a side of fries

***BEST HOTDOG IN NORTH CAROLINA*** Old school, tiny little place with dogs that hit 5 stars. Fries were hot and crispy, and the service was awesome.

I was craving a hotdog and clearly were so many others as this place was busy! A lot of the area seems to come here for a good classic hot dog and after having my first bite, I see why. The bun was so buttery and toasted, and the chili and cheese topped it off! There's limited indoor seating as well as outdoor, but don't let that stop you from trying this spot. They have a great rating and only accept cash so make sure you come prepared. I will definitely be back the next time I'm craving a hot dog.

Stopped in between the holidays and this place hit exactly what I was looking for. Classic hot dogs done right -- toasted bun, solid chili, and that perfect snap when you bite in. Grabbed an apple pie and a cold Pepsi and ate outside on a sunny afternoon, could not have asked for better. What really stood out was the staff. I called ahead just to make sure they were open, and they were just as friendly on the phone as they were in person. You can tell they take pride in the little things and treat everyone like a regular. Heads up: cash only, so come prepared. Worth it. I will absolutely be back.

I made a quick stop at the mall and needed a quick bite. I didn't want any mall food and found PB's takeout out on Yelp being close by. Fortunately I had cash on my as the reviews warned this was cash only. A little hole in the wall that can easily be missed so make sure your GPS is on. This is a small building with no tables or chairs inside. They do have some seating at a little counter, otherwise there's a few picnic tables outside. The burgers looked tempting but I went for the classic hotdog: mustard, onions, chili, and slaw. And the best was the buns were well toasted. I wish the chili had a little more seasoning but it was just plain hotdog chili. I'd definitely stop by here for a quick bite and have already recommended to friends. Quick, cheap, and good.

Today is National Hot Dog Day, so of course I headed to the best hot dog joint in town . I ordered my usual, a dog with mustard, chili, and onions - perfect! Of course, you don't need a national day to enjoy the food here.

PBs will forever be one of my favorites! The buttered and grilled buns, the toasty hotdogs, and the incredible wings (they take 20 mins but are worth it) will always be my go to! Service is fast & kind! Small location and only takes cash!

A lot of people says that PB's Takeout has the best hot dogs in the city. I would put them in my top 5 but not the top. The hotdog is all beef and good. The chili and slaw are homemade is a plus. The buns are toasted but if you are getting it to go you never get the full benefit of that because it is wrapped in parchment paper and that makes the bread soggy. They are also cash only as well so keep that in mind. Great spot though and they are always busy but fast service as well.

This fast food hotdog place was mentioned in the April Our State Magazine on best 12 places in North Carolina. Winston-Salem was favored by the hot dog guy. Who has eaten dogs in 43 states over 12 years. So far he has visited 775 places. So back to my review I wanted to try it out. It is across the street from Food Lion on Stratford Road in W-S. IMO I was disappointed that to me it was just average. Dog with slaw, chili with fries on the side with Cheerwine on the rocks. Plus the soda was in a small paper container. Meal came to a tad over $10. So hey or hay everyone has their own opinion where how like their dog. Try it out. 3 1/2 stars overall

It's a little spot on Hawthorne that serves up some of the best hot dogs and burgers in town! The only down fall( for me) is that they only take cash, so if your a person whose like me who doesnt always carry cash on them, then You'll need to make an additional stop by an atm or bank, other than that they're delicious with all your favorite add ons to your bruger or hot dog, making every bite just right. While their hot dogs and burgers are the stars, they do offer other options too. Seating is limited-- small sit in area inside and a few picnic tables outside, so plan ahead, especially during the lunch rush. Parking is shared with neighboring businesses, but trust me, it's worth the effort, but again, Just don't forget to bring cash--If you're looking for a quick, satisfying lunch that hits the spot, PB Takeout is the place to be.

2 Hot Dog Special, Regular (which means all the way, no onions)

As a teacher on summer break, I have some free time during June and July. Last summer my husband and I somehow ended up on our very own "Tour de Frank" in Winston Salem and surrounding areas. The one hotdog that topped our list was PB's, therefore our kid-free date night last night was sitting at the counter/window of PB's chowing down on a delicious 2 Hot Dog Combo with crispy crinkle cut fries and a Diet Dr. Pepper. The hot dogs are so so good. As other reviews mentioned, they're not messy! I can't stand a hotdog that falls apart, drips on me, or I have to eat with a fork. This one holds up and is so tasty! Honestly, I also love the fries. They are frozen, and probably from the local food service distributor that many around here use, but dang if they aren't good. Hot and crispy, dunked in ketchup...you can't beat it! We sat inside this time and enjoyed thumbing through the "Our State" magazine article about a man's "hotdog tour"-his very own Tour de Frank. If you're in the area, give this place a try. It's worth it!

We were in the area and had seen many positive reviews for P.B's and decided to stop in for lunch. We had driven by before and knew how tiny it was. With just about 15 barstools and counters lining the interior walls there was a short line of customers waiting to place their orders at the counter. The menu is simple and consists of hotdogs, burgers, tots and wings. We inquired if their chili had beans and since it didn't my wife and I both decided to order a hotdog "all the way" with modifications. She ordered hers with no mustard and I ordered mine with no slaw. I also ordered tots with mine. Our total was less than $10. As others have said they are a cash only establishment. We waited a few minutes until our order number was called and went outside. We decided to have a seat at one of the two picnic tables. We both thought the hotdogs were okay but nothing special. However, they did hit the spot. If you are looking for fast, cheap, and easy, P.B's is a good choice. With chili, onions, slaw and mustard the "all the way" has the makings for a yummy lunch. This place has been an establishment in the Ardmore area for many years and certainly has a following. They are reasonably priced, provide quick service and are relatively easy in and out. They do not have a drive through but the time was just about the same. This is virtually no comparison to most sit down restaurants but it is however, a great place to grab a quick bite. My wife also inquired if their corndogs were hand dipped after spotting them on the menu but was told they were frozen.

I'm so glad we did, because this might honestly be one of the best hot dogs in Winston. I got two dogs with ketchup, mustard, and onions, and my husband got two all the way (Carolina style). Everything was delicious. The line was a little long, but it moved quickly, and the food came out fast too, which I appreciated. The hot dogs themselves were top-tier in flavor, but I have to talk about the buns. The buns were perfectly toasted with butter you could actually taste, and it made all the difference. Seriously, I'm still thinking about these hot dogs. We'll definitely be back, and I'd recommend them to anyone who loves a good hot dog.

And don't sleep on the smoke sausages. They are beef as well and so juicy. You get a choice of 5 toppings but I always get spicy mustard, texas pete hot sauce and grilled onions. You can get it split or whole. And did I mention how affordable it is? The only negative I can give is no fries, the combo comes with chips and a canned soda. You can upgrade to a glass soda for an extra $1. Give them a try and let me know what you think.
