I didn't end up eating anything here but my family did. Food looked just okay but this isn't a culinary destination obviously. We went the other day with our grand daughters as this is one of their favorite places in Door County. The food for the kids was gobbled up very quickly and the adult servings were delicious. My wife had the Philly cheesesteak and I had the Pattymelt. They were delicious! The atmosphere is unique and very entertaining. The food is delivered by train which the kids absolutely love. The service could not be better! They are friendly and very attentive. Our server even made sure to put the figure on the train that the girls asked for! What a wonderful place! Simply overrated. It has good train deco yes and service was good and out servers were kind. The food is the big miss here. I had a "1st Class" $16 walley sandwich which consisted mostly of fried breading and served on a glorified hotdog bun, which the grease quickly soaked through the edges of. I got a gut bomb from the grease before we left the property. My wife's grilled chicken was a poor cut of meat and she was eating around gristle. The Fries were cheap cafeteria quality as were both kids meals. We came for the high ratings of good food and for the train (which only serves folks around the small bar, most of the visitors won't get train service). I expected better, we were disappointed at the quality of food at this price point. One and done for us. read more

First the food that I was served was ok a bit big for my liking but was the most scrumptious food that I have had in a while. The service was fast and we got our food in 20 minutes. There was a waiting line at the door at 10:00 in the morning. But this place is very popular so I don't mind it. The space within the restaurant is a bit small but is very nicely organized. The staff would put these things in the train probably to entertain the kids and it worked. The staff also put a bubble machine on the train and that was also cool. Great atmosphere for kids and their parents, inside and out. The food was good and also quick. The service was excellent. They open early (10am), I would suggest getting here by then if you want a seat at the train that will deliver your food and drinks. We got here at 9:45 and had 2 groups in front of us but they have room for 6 groups by the train. The kids loved every minute of being in the restaurant and playing on the pedal carts outside. read more

Whether or not you have kids this place is a must when you come to Door Co. Although the bar seating would be best (so your food can be delivered on a large scale model train) there are tables in the next room that overlook the tavern area. If your kids have favorite (small) stuffed animals or other favorite small toys, bring them so they can ride the train and help deliver your food On a less enthusiastic note, i cannot recommenced the BBQ pork. Food is nothing overly special but that is not why you come here anyway. We had to wait about 30 minutes but they had so much fun things to do with my nephew while we waited including a swing set and these fun bike things to use. Had a decent bloody mary waiting to. Once seated inside we just had a blast with the train coming around with our waters/food. My nephew had the best time and that is why I would come back if I had kids. I had a salad and it was standard fair. I wish the chicken was cut up I had issues eating that it was such big pieces. Nephew loved his chicken tenders but only got 3 small nuggets. Coming to PC is one of my favorite parts of my visits to door county. The food is amazing and there's really no other place in DC with this kind of character. We love taking the pedal go karts for a spin. HIGHLY recommend any of the soups whenever they're part of the days special - always made from scratch and amazing. The gumbo is to die for. This place was awesome...for my kids. I mean it's best described as one of the best toddler/young kids theme parks in Door County. Go karts, toy train, playgrounds, etc. My kids loved it. We didn't sit inside for the train to deliver food because some family with 7 kids (actually) came right before us and I didn't want to wait 45 minutes so I could keep my 2 year old from trying to derail the train. As others have mentioned, great place to bring the kids. Who wouldn't want their meal delivered on a model train. Be forewarned space is confined when sitting within the train service area. The restaurant is a sandwich/burger kind of place. They make a solid sandwich that generally has good flavor. So much to see & do for the kids. They can ride the pedal carts, shoot hoops, play ping pong, play giant chess, check out the old school bus, see Rosie the pig and the list goes on. There is a winery across the street that the grown-ups can visit while the kids are occupied. Expect a loud atmosphere and quite a few people. Cool place with lots of places for kids to play. Definitely nothing like it where I'm from. The food was good and reasonably priced! We did have to wait quite a bit for a table but they give you a buzzer so you can go enjoy the play areas while you wait. My son loved watching the toys pass by on the train. Went there for the first time today, and got their special which was a bacon mushroom swiss burger, and it turned out really well. We weren't waiting too long on our food and it was really cool that they had a model train bring out the food. I've never seen that before, plus they have a little park in the back for people to hang out and the kids to blow off some energy. Its very cool, and I will definitely be going back!! read more

Been coming here for 11 years. Never a huge fan, we come for the kids. However, it's going downhill. Waited 1 hr to be seated, which is typical, but then they never changed the stuff on the train!! Even when we asked them to change it. It was really boring for the kids. $100 for an experience they didn't deliver on. Food is so-so, fries are meh. Perfect to elder locals, who like to smoke. Plus, be prepared, these people dump their paper product trash in their fire pit. I watched them do it. If you're looking for an overpriced, low class, below average dinning space that under delivers, where people leave their children to run wild without supervision, look no further. read more

This review is purely based on their bar in the separate building and their crazy outdoor yard/hangout area. I got a Fireball/Sprite/Applejuice drink and it was super good. They had a nice big firepit going with chairs all around. The backyard is something out of a horror movie in the best way possible...broken down abandoned bus with windows gone. A pedal bike track, old buildings, a pig pen (with a random pig on a leash which I guess is kind of sad, but hopefully he's happy), basketball court, etc. It's such a strange place! read more

This is one of the most unique restaurants I have ever visited. Catered to kids, your meal is delivered to you on a small toy train that makes its way around the tracks. The main bar of the restaurant represents the northern tip of the thumb of Wisconsin... and depending where you sit will correspond to the city in that part of the Peninsula. When your meal is ready, your server places what you ordered on a train car, yells your city name, and sends the train to your seats where you grab it and eat. Beyond the awesome inside of the restaurant, lies the mysterious and endless playground that is the outside. On the same grounds of the restaurant is several acres of random games, animals, and things to climb on. There's lots of pedal carts, pigs to pet, chickens to look at (and eat, I suppose), basketball, ping pong, billiards, vintage vehicles to climb in, and playgrounds. I'm guessing this is what Neverland Ranch looked like minus Michael Jackson. Definitely a must-see if you're a fan of food and fun. read more

It is probably the only place where it's more appropriate to have kids bellied to to the bar instead of adults. The train that delivers drinks and food to patrons is a lot of fun for children, especially eith all the different toys and characters the bartenders frequently rotate on and off. My Cajun cod sandwich was very impressive--exceeded what I expected. Good fries and kind waitstaff propelled my already enjoyable experience. An awesome place to take kids! It's quite quirky, as it's one large compound. On one side you have PC junction, which is a train themed restaurant that delivers your food via train. Very similar concept to Buffalo Phil's in the Dells or the Choo Choo is Des Plaines, IL . Menu is pretty basic, but all the things we tried were pretty solid (brat, burger, Mac and cheese bites). Across the way from PC junction is their pizza place, pizza czar, which looked really good. They also have an outdoor bar connected to PC junction, so you can just walk up and hang outside with a drink. And there is plenty to see and do outside for the kids. You have a lot of random things back there, such as: a basic playground set up, an old truck converted to a slide, an old classroom, a big wheel dirt track, a basketball hoop, ping pong tables and a life sized cheese table. It's really cool setup, just be prepared to spend quite a bit of time on the grounds if you have kids. read more

Was met by a very unpleasant hostess. She ruined the experience from the start. We were sat at the bar top and the bar stools were very close together so I tried moving one of them to let my self in easier to sit down. She told me I could not touch that seat as it was not mine and then she said she would help me into my seat. She spoke to me like I was a 2 year old and it was very demeaning. The crazy part about it was that no one ever sat next to me using that seat. The couple sitting a few spots down mentioned how tight the seating was and the guy moved the seat I was originally trying to move when they sat down 20 mins later and the hostess said nothing. I was treated unfairly and would not go back because of this. Giving them 2 stars because the food was fast and the environment was fun for the kids. If you travel through Door County with a toddler or young children you must stop at PC Junction. The food won't be the reason you stop, the atmosphere will be. Food gets 2.5-3 stars, sorry. The atmosphere gets 5 for kids. They have a bar that you sit around and a train goes around the tracks and delivers you your food. They also put a bubble machine on the train and other silly characters to entertain your children. My daughter loved it and got so excited every time the train went around. For once I got to eat my lunch in peace but unfortunately it was a plain old cheeseburger. At least I got to watch my daughters face light up in pure excitement and joy every time the train came around - priceless. They have a beautiful outside play place too. There was a swing set and peddle cars that you could ride around. There is also an arcade up a small flight of stairs that would be fun for older children or adults (like us) who want to compete on Extreme Hunter 2 arcade game. Food - average. I had grilled cheese that was well toasted. But my brother thought it was ok. The outside of the restaurant was breathtaking. There was baby chickens that the workers offered to hold the chickens. The workers were very nice and food did not take long considering how many people we had. They have a whole backyard for people to play around in and there was a place like a movie scene. There was a abandoned school but that you can open and close the doors on the bus. The barn had a second floor but it was not to safe if you are not careful. Where do you take two toddler boys on vacation in Door County who happen to love trains? PC Junction!! On our annual Door County Thanksgiving trip, we headed here for an early dinner with my train loving nephews in tow. From the instant we walked in the room, they went wild with excitement as the train brought food and drinks to other patrons. They were seated near the train and watched it intently as it came around the bar. Each time the train rolled by, they wailed and clapped with excitement. Meanwhile, the rest of the family was seated nearby on a table filled with business cards galore. We found it amusing to see what parts of Illinois and Wisconsin former patrons had traveled from. The food is standard bar and children's food fare ranging from pulled pork sandwiches to burgers to chicken fingers. They have a wide selection of custard as well. For the adults, they also serve bottled beer too, so the menu and drinks appeal to all ages. PC Junction's a fun, little place to take kids during a Door County trip. Go here for your child's enjoyment and memories, not for the food. read more

If your kids are into trains, you may enjoy this place, but you should know in advance the food is not up to the usual standards of Door County, even for a casual restaurant. My burger had an unpleasant texture and way too much salt and pepper -- I couldn't even finish it. The atmosphere is nothing special -- if it weren't for the trains running around on elevated tracks, this place would be nothing more than a grimy, dark, nondescript bar and grill. There's limited seating in the area where the train delivers your food; during peak hours, there's a very good chance you won't be seated anywhere near it. Plus, the bathrooms are filthy and there's nowhere to change a baby. Service was inattentive, almost rude. There are so many other great places in Door County for a casual/hamburger meal (for example, Fred and Fuzzy's, Coyote Roadhouse, Bayside Tavern, heck, even J.J.'s), I suggest skipping this place unless your child is a model train fanatic. read more

This is the cutest place I've ever eaten. The train that goes around the counter and brings you your order is just such a hit with the kids. We got there right when they opened so we didn't have to wait to sit at the counter at all. When we were leaving there was a huge wait for the counter, because the experience is so much better getting your food served to you by a toy train. While the food is actually very good, I give this place five full starts because of the outdoor atmosphere. During your wait, you can have your kids play in the play yard which helps everyone's time go by a whole lot quicker. They play yard has peddle carts and, jungle gym, arcade and a large chess board. I've been here twice with friends that have small kids. But I can tell you, my mid-40s self and the other adults in our party are just as mesmerized as the kids are when the train comes around. Food choices are just fine. Service is fast, and of course fun. The seating around the train is a bit crammed (because everyone wants to sit by the train, of course) and my husband with disabilities wasn't able to navigate through the tight spots. But there is more spacious seating to be had elsewhere. read more
