ABSOLUTELY WORSE EXPERIENCE. Do not purchase an appliance or anything from PC RICHARD & SON. I purchased a 17,000 refrigerator from the PC Richard's in Wayne, NJ from Moe. This refrigerator was purchase back in June. I waited over 2 months to get a 17,000 refrigerator with the front stainless panel missing making it impossible to open the refrigerator. They removed my old refrigerator that was working fine and left me with a refrigerator that was missing a door and not completely installed. I contacted Moe my sales person many times and was told that this matter would be taking care of and I would get compensation for the inconvenience. 5 months later and still not resolved. I took off 2 days work(2 months apart) waiting for the replacement panel and proper installation. Twice they NEVER showed and when I called after waiting until the end of the 5 hour window I was told the panel was damaged (3 damaged panels) I was told by Moe that I would be receiving a phone call by the store manager on the Wayne , NJ store. 5 months later and still waiting! Since I wasn't getting any help from Moe, the store manager and district manager I called my credit card company to hold the payment and filed a claim. After that Moe contacted me to tell me I HAVE to withdraw the credit card hold in order for them to fix my issue. SO I DID because I had no choice if I wanted a complete working refrigerator for my $17,000 that I had spent. In conclusion, I took today off from work again to wait for PC RICHARD to come and install my refrigerator and AGAIN after waiting all day I was told they aren't coming because the panel was DAMAGED (3rd panel) THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - PC RICHARDS I am posting this everywhere because people deserve to know how PC Richards actually operates. About 2 1/2 years ago, I purchased a dryer from PC Richards along with their service agreement. 8 months ago, my dryer stopped drying clothes. They replaced the motherboard. While it temporarily helped, the dryer never truly worked correctly afterward. November 29 - dryer completely lost heat. Service appointment scheduled for December 5. The technician arrived, spent minutes with a flashlight and screwdriver, checked for an error code, and immediately declared, "It's the motherboard again." No real evaluation. No disassembly. December 8 - I received an email stating the part was ordered. By December 13 - no call, no appointment. When I contacted the service department, I was told the part order had been canceled in the notes without notifying me. Their "solution" was a $75 voucher and reordering the part. Important detail: That voucher was later canceled. December 20 - a new technician arrived. The motherboard was NOT the issue. Dryer still didn't work. He admitted the previous tech should have ordered sensors-- only to find out this part is normally stocked on their trucks..but that tech left without replacing and stated they need to be ordered. December 24 (Christmas Eve) - sensors installed. Still not fixed. Thankfully, my husband (an HVAC technician) was home and insisted they actually take the dryer apart instead of blindly chasing error codes. Final diagnosis: The motor was burned out the entire time. Once replaced in January, the dryer worked perfectly. The real issue: * No proper diagnostics * No accountability * Managers hiding behind "protocol" * Techs trained to look only for codes instead of evaluating the appliance * Complete disregard for the customer's time I had to take off EIGHT DAYS OF WORK, yet PC Richards considers this "one occurrence" because they label it "evaluation then repair." Convenient for them. Costly for me. This is no longer the family business it once was. It's a company that sends undertrained technicians, wastes customers' time, cancels promised resolutions, and takes zero responsibility. I will never do business with PC Richards again, and I strongly urge others to think twice before purchasing appliances or service agreements from them. People deserve better. My parents and I have bought everything in our homes for the past 25 years from P.C. Richard's. Everything. The one time we had a problem (this year) we have been met with complete stonewalling. Our LG washer leaks. It leaked from day one. We would have been better off keeping our 22 year old machine which worked fine and never leaked. We have needed to put a tray underneath to catch the water. I am so disappointed. I came to PC RICHARDS not because of their prices or inventory (they're pretty much like everyone else) but because I'd heard about their exemplary service. They advertise this as something they believe in. I would say that I should've known better and stayed where I knew best, at Home Depot and the other appliance place Reno's where we'd done previous business. I will never again purchase anything from PC Richards. Their customer service is subpar and communication skills lacking. We bought a range and microwave there over two weeks ago. The salesman told us, we'd have it in 3 days. 2 and a half weeks later, we're still waiting with a window from 7am-5pm. Meaning either my husband or I will have to take the day off work. To say I'm incensed at this point is an understatement. At this point, I don't have much faith that the goods will arrive at a reasonable time or in tact ...the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. Just following up on my PC Richards debacle. Still don't have a resolution to my broken drip pan which their techs broke when repairing my washer back in February. It is now almost June! Although I was hopeful to have a resolution when speaking to AJ finally. She got the new drip pan sent to my house but was told by the same tech that it was the wrong pan and that we would need an installer not a tech to fix it (although this was the solution they suggested for all these months!!). They said to get the new pan and they would install it. Now they suddenly don't . Get your appliances elsewhere. The service is terrible! read more

Called to have my Maytag washing machine serviced. I knew what the issue was simple clogged drain however could not do the job myself. When the service person came he took his light shined it in side the tube and said oh you need a new agitator without doing a single thing ? The agitator has nothing to do with my issue which was some water leaking from the bottom. I just need someone to clear the drain pump and line. Told me to go purchase a new machine since this one was 7 years old. Also told me I need to purchase a 10 year warranty. Horrible, haphazard installation that cost us time away from our jobs because of their lack of communication and follow thorough. Delivery 'professionals' damaged our property causing gauges the drywall and marked up and scratched our hardwood floors. Worst part is they damaged excessively the item we purchased and installed it faulty! After the 'install', Sandy did not test the item before leaving, as required for dealing with an active gas line. AVOID PC RICHARDS & SON Purchased a Bosch Dishwasher. Prior to making the purchase I confirmed they would be able to deliver by my requested date which they confirmed they would. Literally as long as it takes to enter my payment I was told the date is not available. I had to wait. I love the "There is nothing we can do" response. Today the dishwasher was delivered and installed by PC Richard & Son. After the men departed my home, we ran a cycle on the dishwasher and immediately received error codes indicating there was an issue with the machine draining. Of course now the bottom of the dishwasher is filled with water. After placing a call to PC Richards and being placed on hold over 20 minutes - twice - they decide there is "Nothing they can do" until next Thursday - this is Saturday. So PC Richards has no problem taking your money but after that you are not a priority. How is it ok to charge me for an install that you failed to complete? How are you ok to know a customer purchased an appliance that is absolutely useless now. I should have know better after reading the negative reviews...... never again! read more

I am so disappointed in all my new LG appliances that I bough last August. Today I want to tell you about my stove. The cooktop of the stove is black, they have cast iron grates. The grates have tiny plastic tabs in each of the corner, these tabs fall out and get lost during washing and cleaning the oven.(As shown in the first two pictures) When this happens, the front and the back of the stove where the grates tabs lay, have been getting all scratched. Upon calling P.C.Richard technicians, I have been told that this is not covered under my warranty. I was told to contact LG directly. After 3 calls to LG, I finally received a call back from the Presidential Liaison telling me that the warranty only pertains to manufacture defects only. They do not consider this a manufacture defect that the knobs on their grates fall out and scratch the cooktop. They asked for pictures in which I sent, and still said to me that we can send a technician to look at it, however a flat rate service charge of $500 will be charged. They want me to pay for this service and still not rectify the problem which can be resolved by sending me several plastic tabs, so that when one falls out I can replace it. I was told that they do not replace those tabs, and I need to buy new grates every time a tab falls out. And this is a cosmetic issue and not covered under my warranty. Was once the best. Quickly now became the worst. Upon arriving you'll always be pounced upon by more than several sales people OK I get it that's how they make a living. I always found the sales people there to be quite friendly, and they still are, hence the one star for the sales people What bugs me the worst is that this company prides itself on service and integrity, they sell you quality appliances and insist in suggesting the purchase of extended warranties. The problem is the warranty is meaningless. The service repair people never come when they're supposed to, and in a most recent case after confirming three times that they would be there just never showed up. Making matters worse they never even called to tell us they wouldn't show up Hence the housekeeper was not needed to be there that day this costing me 160 of wasted money In this instance, PC Richards sent out a company by the initials of A and E. This company generally works for the Sears roebuck company with repairs The quality of service is dreadful. No one called all day to let us know that there were any problems. We called once at 1 PM, once at 3 PM, and were told the repair person would infact be there by 5 pm I then call pC Richard ... I'm told repair person will come another day. I asked to speak with a store manager to voice my dissatisfaction with the repair service and was placed on "ignore" for over 4 minutes. I'm done never another item from this company By 6 no one came. No one called and we were basically blown off for 4 more days. Next time I prefer to pay more to an independent smaller retailer for better service read more

So came in to look at some stoves as I noticed they had a tent sale going on. Our sales rep was guiding us around the tent which only had a few stoves in their selection, but we did liked one in particular already. So we went inside to look at some more of the available stoves and we decided to go ahead with the one in the tent sale. Our sales rep explained to us that the tent sale ones are basically display models with maybe minor damage but in good working condition. Our stove has zero damage while there, pictures don't lie. So 3 days after our stove was delivered. The guys delivering the stove, did bump into a few walls that I now gotta fix. But worst of all, the stove got damaged somewhere during transport from the tent sake to our house. ! BIG scratch and dent on top. Now comes the test, the guys hook up the gas stove. The back burner is not working! Great! Those guys didn't care and left me with that broken stove. Now they didn't test the oven part so decided to do this myself as they ran off, click...click...click...nope, not firing up! So now I got a dented and scratched stove where the oven part is not working and a burner not giving a flame. On top of that a BIG hazard as my house started to smell like gas!!! Called up P.C. Richard and Son to get a service tech out here as my house is smelling like gas, told me to call PS&G as they can't make it out there. You caused this issue, you fix this issue! Will write an updated review with how this gets resolved or not later on as I'm still waiting for a service tech to arrive but highly doubt I'll ever buy from them again. UPDATE: almost a 2 weeks have gone by and still have a non functioning stove. The technician got send out last week to determine if this was safe/fixable but apparently there's some wrong parts inside the stove and the scratch/dent is also non fixable. So I am still trying to hear back from Sam or any manager at the store as I called again 2 days ago but am still waiting on a response back. Really frustrating! Will keep you up to date Update: after a 2 week struggle and back and forth going of how to resolve this issue we finally got our broken stove replaced by a new one which currently is working great. Wish this got resolved a little faster without making a numerous amount of phone calls but at the end it did get resolved so thank you PC Richard and Son to stand by your products as advertised! read more

After waiting 10 days for a service call even though after never receiving a promised call for an earlier date ... service for 6.28 was canceled ... on 6.29 at almost 5pm i received a call that this date too was being canceled ... after sharing i had paid someone to actually be in my home waiting now for 2 days it was unacceptable. The guy came at close to 7pm ... tried to repair and indicated new rails were needed. Received on Thursday a call that service was scheduled for Friday between 12 and 5 again had to make arrangements since im also a care giver for my 90 yr old mother. Nobody showed, no calls received but a text that parts were now needed and sometime in the future i will hear back. Gee since i have no freezer in my home i wonder how long it will be to actually get done... and when i will be able to have an ice cream or easily access my dogs food without having to drive 20 miles every other day to get it from my brothers freezer. read more

3 weeks ago I was supposed to have a refrigerator, dish washer, and stove installed. Now, 3 weeks later, the 4th installation crew got the last unit into the kitchen (after the first 3 crews said it could not fit.... only thing is... they aren't qualified to install it..... why did you send them? They popped the valve pulling the old one out (which they left) so now I have a flooded kitchen with 2 refrigerators in it. Your manager Tim was entirely ineffective and couldn't even communicate to the install teams correctly. None of them even knew the situation. Completely useless and I will NEVER use this store again. I will let EVERYONE who will listen know how terrible the service is. There will be a complaint filed and my landlord and I will see you in small claims court for my time off work plus the plumber and damages. Incompetent. read more

This was "by far" the worst customer service experience I have ever had, with any company. The amount of concern that is lacking, towards the customer is mind boggling. I was given a delivery window of between 3:15-6:15pm. At 5:20 I received a call from corporate saying that the delivery truck had broken down earlier in the day and the driver should have called me. Well the driver did not call me, and now the delivery time was to be 8-10pm. I had the choice of the late delivery or to reschedule for 4days later! I ordered a refrigerator! It was emptied in prep for this delivery! How would I wait for 4days?. There was no apology or suggestion of compensation for this extremely late delivery. Well, at 10pm I had heard from no one, still no delivery, and no way to contact anyone since customer service closes at 6pm. I waited until 11pm and went to bed with no delivery. Then at 7:30am the next day( Saturday) I received a call saying that my delivery would be 1pm-3pm that day. I told them what had happened and was told" sorry to hear that". This was infuriating to say the least. So I planned my day around this new time, and low & behold I get a call from the delivery driver at 11:25am saying he will be there in 20min! So I had to stop what I was doing, as I had been 25min from home because I believed I had at least, until 1pm to be home. This clown show that you call a delivery service should really be looked into for this level of incompetence. I will never suggest PC Richard to anyone ever again. read more

Purchased an apartment-sized refrigerator (as a back-up for my custom built-in on order from another in my kitchen). These models were surprisingly hard to find as many new residents have moved into this area from New York. I went to Home Depot and Lowe's first. All tried to up-sell rather than locate what I actually needed. Decided to try PC Richard in Wayne. BEST decision ever!! The salesman, Jamal was very knowledgable, gave me his full attention, was honest and located what I wanted. It was not in stock but he took the time to find out when it would be delivered and called me the day it arrived!! He put a lot of effort into a relatively small purchase. Almost a year later (while the high-end appliance store still had not resolved my other refrigerator issue ... another story in itself). the back-up broke. I contacted Jamal at PC Richard. He was polite and professional and looked up my records. It was still under warrant for another eight days. He immediately arranged for a service call (to see if it could be repaired (it could not). The service company was also very professional, calling prior to visit and arrived exactly on time. They explained a lot about various refrigerator models and parts, helpful advice for future reference. Another good experience. Jamal followed after the service call and escalated replacing the appliance as he understood I now had two broken refrigerators. I had to select a slightly different model but the store manager approved the transaction without hesitation. They also later offered me (I didn't even have to ask!) a small credit as the delivery service missed their delivery appointment. It was such a pleasure to deal with Jamal, the Store Manager and all the sales and service team at this location that I must say I will go here for EVERYTHING in the future. Don't be fooled by the nice greetings! My daughter & I went to the store in Wayne NJ last Sat. For a particular LG Washer 400 Series. They did not have one in that store, but once floor model in Jersey City store .My son picked the machine up on Jersey city store He hooked it up, tested at and I was upstairs reading the paperwork . Their was a pink slip attached that stated it was returned from another buyer because it was damaged !! Sure enough I went and looked at it , and it has several dents on the side, one was a large dent . PC Richards would not give me it least 300 dollars off , for a 1300 dollar machine . The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I came in to replace my IPad mini, and didn't want to deal with the mall. All of the sales staff wore masks and were very Covid conscious, so I felt very safe. Besides the prices were reasonable on a number of different items. Our salesman Dilip was very helpful and very patient while we narrowed our search. Given the stores huge selection we did not want to be hasty. Dilip was even kind enough to proved us with water during the process. Sam then proceeded to finalize the deal with a price that just couldn't be beat. Sam was kind, patient and very detailed.
