What happened to the food in PF Chang's in Fairfax? I ordered Kung Pao chicken that had large, lumpy chunks of deep-fried chicken meat, a handful of peanuts, and scarcely any sauce!! What happened to the lovely stir-fried dish with a nice covering of brown sauce and plenty of peanuts I usually get? This dish was dry and crunchy. Awful. Please, someone tell the chef to correct this. I have to think twice before going back. Prices are as high as ever but the quality of the food has gone down. read more

We placed an online order for fried rice with chicken to go and the site said it would be 25 minutes. After the 25 minutes, we arrived there and the person in the take out section did not acknowledge us and seemed to be putting food in the take out shelf. There were people waiting for their order and one guy told us he had been waiting for one hour. When we asked her if our food was ready she sighed, rolled her eyes and seemed like she didn't want to be bothered. She just said what was your order and name and before we could finish she said it's not ready it'll probably be another 30 minutes and walked away. Extremely rude and unprofessional, we decided to ask a waiter if we could speak to the manager and he said she's handling carry out. We were pretty shocked that we were dealing with the manager considering how bad her customer service was. She came back and apologized to another guy and acted all friendly and we asked her again if she checked our order and she just said it's not ready. We asked her how long it will be and she said I don't know with an attitude in her voice. We told her to cancel because we had enough of her. She said she would and we went to the hostess to ask for the name and number of the district manager. The hostess told us yes she's rude and she can try to help us so we told her our situation and she said she would go check in the kitchen. She came back with our order and apologize about the delay. She was friendly and respectful and honestly feel very sorry she has to deal with that type of manager. By the way, another waiter told us once again the manager is rude and not helpful and gave us her name, Dawn. If the online order experience was terrible, I would hate to find out what it would be like if we had gone in person. read more

I only really go to PF Chang's because I really like their sushi rolls, but I don't know, this one is just blah. Doesn't really impress me much. I came today at about 2:30 and there weren't a lot of people there at all. We were seated quickly, had our drink order taken quickly, and place our orders quickly. In and of itself, that's great, but the emplotess were still just blah. We ordered the Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer. I ordered the Lobster Avocado Roll and my friend ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken. The lettuce wraps were great - always a favorite of mine, but they took what I would consider to be an unusually long time to come out. Once the appetizer had been devoured, again, it seem to take a while for the main courses to come out. The lobster roll was was also amazing and I absolutely loved the curry aioli. Where I was the most disappointed wasn't with my food, it was with my friend's food (yes, I tried it). The Crispy Honey Chicken wasn't crispy, it was kind of soggy and overly breaded. When the meal was over, he had literally picked off almost a full plate of breading. It was pretty disappointing. All in all, the meal was fine, loved the appetizer and the lobster roll, but it took too long for the food to come out and the service itself was just mediocre. read more

I'm torn about this place because I found some of their food delicious and some terrible. I typically do delivery, which may have some impact on the food. Highs: Their entree meats are typically cooked well, with just enough tempura batter and sauce. I generally like the sauce flavors. I find their Kung Poa Chicken just the right spice level (moderate spicy) even though it included chili peppers, and not "crazy hot" like you do with some thai dishes that include the red chili pepper. Portions are overall good. I'm not going to say it's "authentic Chinese" food, it's more of a glorified Pei Wei, but way better quality than Panda Express or your typical Chinese take out. Also, they should get a plus for the delivery packaging- it recently came in this sealed bag (perhaps because of Covid-19?) which kept the food warm (and possibly safe from Covid). Lows: rice is consistently hard. I recently had an order that came with white rice along with the entree and I ordered a veggie fried rice on top of that. Both had a hard quality to them. I couldn't even eat the white because it was so hard. They are pricey for their food in general. It's about 17-22 for one entree. I'm someone who LOVES white rice (the rice mixed with the sauce is what I look forward to) so that's a pretty big downside for me personally when I'm paying a little more than the average take out place. Overall: I would give this place 4 stars for the taste and quality of the food, however for $20 an entree (and $12 for rice) I expect more out of the rice. PF Chang's used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant but no longer. I went to this place on Sunday 6/16/2024 and the food was very very salty. The chicken lettuce wrap had 4 pieces of lettuces for 3 people and we asked for more lettuce and they said it would be $1.00 more. It's not about the price but who would serve 4 pieces of lettuces that couldn't hold all the chicken? The lettuce used to be plentiful but it wasn't this time. More over, the waiter had an attitude. He seemed tired and stressed out, didn't pay enough attention to us. I dropped my chopsticks on the floor and asked for another set and he wasn't very happy to get me a new set. It was a terrible food and bad experience overall and I'll probably not go to PF Chang's in the future. read more

I hadn't previously had a good experience at PF Chang's in the past that caused me not to come back, and honestly, this potentially topped the last experience. Tables around us were still dirty throughout the entire hour we were sitting at our own. We needed replacement forks and plates because ours were dirty when we sat down. We waited for our food for about half an hour after the waiter walked up to us and seemed surprised we hadn't received our entrees yet. The service was subpar at best, the majority of the food was lukewarm, and our order came out wrong initially. Overall, this wasn't a TERRIBLE experience, but we won't be coming back to this location in the future. read more

I ordered some food to go. The food was packaged very nicely, sealed multiple times for sanitation, and overall safe from spillage. The quality of food itself was a stretch for decent. I think many fast food, less expensive Chinese options come in better quality, For me the highlight was hot and sour soup. It was quite good, but it was missing the wonton strips. Three of us went there after a movie. (430 pm) There were 6 women ahead of us that were there for happy hour. Turns out this location doesn't have a happy hour so they left. We were sat and given menus, but sat there 15 minutes with zero wait staff visible and not one person coming to our table. There were only 3 other tables occupied and 2 guys sitting at the bar. There is a reason this place has mediocre reviews. The food is average at best. The salmon was tough and over-cooked. Had the consistency of pre-cooked frozen salmon that was warmed up. The ambience is typical chain restaurant style. The service is atrocious. Took over 2.5 hours for dinner -- most of that time spent waiting. We waited an excessive amount of time for entrees to come out and then again for dessert. We even had to wait a long time for the check after asking for it. Also the place was never full during our time there. Water was left empty several times and not refilled until prompted. One of the servers spilled soup on one of our guests and didn't apologize. The server also tried to wipe up the spill but left the table a sticky mess. When we told another server what happened, several other servers came by to apologize and properly clean up the mess and later the server who spilled the soup came back to apologize and said, "Dessert is definitely on us." That was a nice gesture but not expected. We ordered two desserts including one for a birthday guest and both of them showed up on our bill. Our main server also told us that she took one of the appetizers off our bill but we were still charged for it. ??? They did give us an extra bowl of soup free to make up for spilling it and they gave us one free appetizer that was "extra from the kitchen and didn't want it to go to waste". They also gave us some coupons at the end of the meal for a free appetizer with the next meal (if we actually would want to come back). I think our main server did the best she could trying to make good of an overall bad experience but I would never willingly come back to this restaurant. read more

To-go order; however, I had time to check out the setting. 1. Ambiance: The interior of this restaurant is elegant and neatly kept. The color scheme creates a cozy ambiance. There is a large and beautiful oriental painting above the bar. I really like the round orange lights hanging from the ceiling. It's unique and adds a modernized touch to the restaurant. 2. Food: I had ordered their famous Chicken Lettuce Wrap and Lobster & Shrimp Rice. Both items were scrumptious. The Chicken Lettuce Wrap had ground chicken and water chestnut. I think the chestnut was the outstanding addition that put this meal over the edge. It has a nice crunch, and add a savory taste to this dish. The Lobster & Shrimp Rice was fried rice with deep-fried lobster and shrimp. The crispiness of the lobster and shrimp were fantastic. The fried rice was nicely seasoned as well. 3. Service: The person that took my to-go order was Matthew. He was helpful and friendly. His interactions with other customers were gracious as well. Great customer service. 4. Costs: The Chicken Lettuce Wrap was $9.95 and the Lobster & Shrimp Rice was $17.95. I thought the price was decent given the portion was an abundance. The meals can definitely be shared with another person. 5. Overall Experience: I had a great experience at this restaurant. I really enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service. This restaurant had been one of our favorites for take-out until last year. I'm not sure if the management has changed or the chefs, but the food that we've ordered had become less and less impressive. They cheat on the take-out trays by using those with a raised bottom so that the tray appears to be full. Unfortunately, this past weekend, I ordered Pad Thai and it had fried egg in it (not in others I've ordered) along with some dried shrimp that looked like it was found on a discarded meal, and the noodles didn't have flavor. They must have run out of cooked food when our order came in. It was the WORST-est food I have ever gotten from them. There will be NO MORE orders from us. New Year's Eve I called in an order. I was told it would be 90 mins. I waited 90 mins then went. After 1 1/2 hrs more waiting in the car, I had my order. Tonight I went to pickup my order, and got home, and it was someone else's order, most of which we don't eat. I had placed my order through Grub Hub because originally I was going to have it delivered, I changed it to pickup. Danielle at the restaurant was sorry, and offered to refund my cost. this is Not my first time at the Fairfax Corner location and not the first time with a really bad experience. my family and I went to celebrate an important occasion. We ordered 4 entrees and 3 appetizers. I specifically asked for no peanuts on my dish and brown rice. The Asian noodles were terrible( overcooked )the honey chicken was not good at all, we weren't sure if we ordered doughnuts with honey!! The chicken was missing from the dish. my dish had peanuts, I asked the waiter to please change the plate as I can't eat peanuts. When my food arrived I asked for brown rice. I waited and waited and the order of rice never arrived. When I was almost done with my food , the waiter approached the table to ask if everything was ok now? I asked again for the rice. 5 minutes later she came back and asked for the 3rd time if I wanted brown, white or fried rice!!!! I responded brown please.. the food was not good at all !!! On top of all the above issues, the waiter char us for the wrong order twice !! also the wall chocolate cake tasted old. definitely not a good experience . I picked up some food to go late last night - about 11:00 pm. I've never been to P.F. Chang's before. I ordered at the bar - Kung Pao chicken, spring rolls, and hot and sour soup. I waited about 10 minutes for my food. While I was waiting - I looked around - fairly large dining room and bar - the decor was nice - a modern chinese feel to it. I could see where it would be a nice place to take a date for dinner. I got home and was annoyed to find I had no rice. I did not specifically order any rice - I was assuming the Kung Pao chicken came with rice. And the bartender did not ask me if I wanted to order rice. So I will need to find out next time what the norm is. I got home with my food - all of it was quite good. The soup was delicious, the spring rolls were crisp and not greasy. And the house chinese mustard was potent and strong - providing that oh-so-kick-ass nasal headrush. The Kung Pao chicken was spicy and tasty! Just wish I had some rice to go with it! read more

I ordered online for curbside service and that went well. When I got my order home, the Handmade Pork Dumplings I ordered looked much smaller than normal. For $13, it was a rip off. Additionally, they tasted blander than normal and seemed stale. The photo shows 3 of the 6 that come in an order (I did receive all 6 dumplings). I called to ask if they had permanently changed them. My call was transfered twice and I eventually talked to a manager, Scott. He said that nothing had changed and they were the same size and recipe as always. He didn't offer me anything to compensate for the subpar dumplings. I understand inflation, but I can't justify ordering from them in the future. read more

You come here with your caucasian friends who are scared of real chinese food and think all chinese restaurants serve cats and dogs. I prefer to come here for their lunch menu special because you can pick a dish that comes with soup/salad and rice for $7-$12 bucks. I refuse to pay $12-$15 for the regular dishes when it's usually skimp and not even a real Chinese dish. I will say that the Chicken lettuce wraps are the ish!!!!! I hate mushrooms and they recently told me I couldn't get them without mushrooms anymore because it's premade which I'm sad about. I also like the mongolian beef, pepper steak and kung pao scallops. My favorite part of my meal here are the fried banana spring roll dessert. Think of biting into a crunchy spring roll with the taste of soft sweet banana oozing out with homey drizzled onto the banana. Heaven! Servers are OK, could do a little bit better on quicker service and attentiveness. Food is good and always consistent. I am absolutely floored at the service my family & I received today (12/11/22) at PF Chang's!!! We booked a reservation for a birthday lunch for our daughter. When we walked in, the hostess was super sweet & although we were early, she immediately took us to our booth. They decorated the table which was very cute & totally unexpected. Our server Francesca was absolutely the BEST server we have had all year!!! She went above & beyond to make sure we were comfortable & well taken care of. She also surprised our daughter with a little surprise without us even having to ask if they do anything special. She also treated each us like family! We got an appetizer, alcoholic & non-alcoholic speciality drinks, opt'ed out lunch serving sizes for dinner serving sizes & got dessert so our bill was higher than a normal lunch bill for P.F. Chang's but absolutely worth it! Highly recommend booking a birthday or anniversary reservation for sure! Or even just stopping in for lunch or dinner. We DEFINITELY recommend asking for Francesca but if she is not available Im sure there are other great servers.
