Unfortunately, today was a very different experience. It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, even though the bar wasn't busy. I ordered an Old Cuban Old Fashioned, one of my favorites, and was surprised to see the bartender use his hands instead of tongs to put the ice into the glass. I ended up sending the drink back because the glass was dirty. The second drink was made by another bartender, and again, I noticed him using his hands instead of tongs to handle the ice. The food was still great, but after today's experience, I'll definitely be paying much closer attention to how my drinks are prepared. I've always had a great experience at Finka, which is why today was especially disappointing. I hope this was just an off day and not a change in their usual standards.

The tea itself was good and the pearls soft though I did notice the pearls themselves to have an almost crumbly texture to it which was a bit odd and to be honest not in a good way considering one has to pay extra for it. We had heard a lot about the Master Chicken Steak at Kung Fu Chicken - FIU, so we had to give it a…read moretry--and it definitely lived up to the hype! The Master Chicken Steak is basically a fried chicken breast/cutlet that is perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and not greasy at all. The chicken itself is flavorful and delicious. There are several flavors and sauces to choose from, but since I love spicy food, I went with the Szechuan Mala Powder. It was so tasty and had a great spicy, numbing kick! Personally, I prefer the Mala powder over the sauce because it gives the chicken a stronger, more concentrated flavor without making it soggy. The price is also very reasonable, especially considering the portion and quality. We ordered it as takeout, and I was really impressed that even after taking it home, the chicken was still crispy, juicy, and delicious. That's always a big plus for fried chicken! Next time, we're going to try the Savory Garlic Powder at another Kung Fu Chicken location closer to our house. Can't wait to see how that flavor compares!

I like that there were so many sauce options. The chicken was good and the best part was it was not greasy, which made it easy to eat a lot of. I preferred the chicken fingers to the big kick leg, and the wrap was pretty tasty. I didn't get to try the sandwich, but it looked so good. I'll definitely try this again if I come across it. The portions are perfect for a date night or for ordering several things to try and share. Just keep in mind that some of the appetizers, like the bao buns and tacos, come with two pieces, so plan accordingly if you're with a larger group. The service was great, and overall we really enjoyed the food. My only disappointment was the iced tea. They confirmed it was the powdered Lipton iced tea, which I found a little overpriced for what it was. It was also extremely sweet and overly concentrated, like way too much powder had been added. With everything else being so fresh and delicious, the tea just didn't match the quality of the rest of the meal. One word of caution if you sit outside when it's raining: the patio has coverings that do a pretty good job of keeping the rain out, even when it's coming in sideways. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a spot where water had collected or was getting through above my seat. I had been sitting there perfectly dry when suddenly a stream of water came pouring directly down on me and basically gave me an unexpected shower. My freshly done hair did not survive! Aside from that unfortunate surprise, the food and service were excellent. I would definitely come back, although next time I'll be checking the weather before choosing my table!

The evening started well with great drinks and dumplings. When ordering, I explained my cheese allergy and requested risotto without cheese, confirming that cream was okay when asked. After taking our orders, our server returned to say the chef wouldn't accommodate the request because it would change the texture. I repeatedly explained that I understood the texture would be different and was completely fine with that. Given what I'd seen in the video, I found this refusal especially hard to understand. I asked several times for reconsideration and insisted on speaking with the chef directly. Despite our server going back to him more than once, the answer remained no, and he never spoke with us--even when passing our table. When I requested the general manager, I learned she was also our server. I was shocked that she couldn't resolve the issue or clarify whether refusing modifications was the owner's policy. My parents and I canceled our entrées and left very disappointed. What bothered me most was having to insist repeatedly without getting a direct conversation or an explanation beyond texture. We arrived excited and left feeling unheard.
