This is the first time my husband and I were able to have a date night in months. Decided to eat here, didn't have a reservation so we knew there would be a wait. Was told 45 minutes, and they asked if we wanted to leave a number to text when the table was ready. We said yes, but ended up waiting inside instead. About a half an hour in, the hostess starts telling a coworker while pointing at us, "why leave a number to text if you're just going to sit here " while snickering. I'm sure she thought we couldn't hear, but my mom ears picked it up. I was so angry - there's no need to say anything at all. Terrible customer service, and I wanted to just leave. Knowing that there would be a wait anywhere we went, we stayed. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the food was good, but will not frequent this establishment again. Sitting in the parking lot in our car waiting for our 7:30pm table. It is almost 8:00pm. The problem is that due to the pandemic there is reduced seating, but unlike other restaurants, when you make a reservation they don't tell you there is a time limit. Consequently, people are not leaving in a timely manner. Mongolian Beef was awful; it was cold, super dry, and very hard to chew; it seemed like it had been over-cooked and dried out from overheating. Will not be ordering that dish in the future. We've been going here for years, but they've changed for the worse. Pan fried potstickers tasted very off, the chicken pad Thai was very wet and not as tasty as we've gotten before. Solid food, absolutely inefficient take-out ordering process. It took about 15-mins to place my order over phone (with two lengthy holds) and required two complete articulations of my order. The curbside pickup is an appreciated feature, but it took 35-mins for them to walk the *completed* order to my car. And there was no more than 4 cars in cue. I would have gone inside but I had my young kids. I know times are tough, but this was egregious inefficiency and a major time waster -- either do the pickup feature in a reasonable timeframe, or don't offer it. Will not come back. read more

Another example of a chain restaurant that has literally 13 tables available, but, my partner and I have to wait 8 minutes for the bus boys to clear another table to appease their seating system. This irritation came after being seated at the first table that so wobbly, we couldn't rest a drink on it. No apologies and no sense of urgency from the hostesses. The food is tasty. But, no lunch menu on Saturdays. If you can get through the idiocy of their seating system - at 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, mind you - the food is good - for a chain. Crab won-tons are yum. read more

Irina was our server and did a wonDerful job of keeping us on track to eat and get to tHe garden at our dEsignated time. We had pork egg rolls first, twisted whIskey sours, the salmon, fried shrimp rice, crispy rice shrimp, Kung pow shrimp and Mongolian beef. All came hot and delicious! Nice size portions. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! What was once a solid and delicious choice for Chinese, P.FChangs has drifted into corporate mediocrity. Tonight we ordered carry out. Easy enough, right? Some of the worst Chinese I've had in a long time. I will say that when you pick up they make a good point to ensure you have everything you ordered. The goodness stopped there. The portion sizes have become minute, which is rather a ripoff when you are paying $15-$20 an entre. We had the Mongolian Beef, which I used to love from this place. This order was so overcooked, it tasted like shoe leather. There was no discernible sauce in there, either, just some scallions. Nobody wanted seconds and it was difficult to eat. Second, I ordered the orange peel chicken, because it was my son's favorite dish. Orange peels must be at a premium, because there were hardly any in the dish. Instead, there were three slices of actual orange, something I have never experienced prior. Instead of succulent pieces of chicken, the dish now features cubes that are breaded and fried. The dish had very little flavor. My son did not want seconds. Then there was the side of asparagus. A decent deal at $3.50, the dish contained two or three asparagus tips, the rest was stalks. What are they doing with those tips I wonder, because they are not in this dish. This is not the first time I've experienced this with this dish. Time to branch out and find a new Chinese place on the North Shore, Yet, P.F. Change continues to pack it in, maybe because there is such a lack of good Chinese in the area. read more

The drinks were great along with the pot sticker appetizer but we were whole heartily disappointed in our main dishes. The fire grilled short ribs were five small pieces in a mound of rice. The meat was no bigger than an appetizer and the dish cost us $30. The second dish that was spicy chicken came out breaded. No where on the menu did it state it was breaded and no where on the menu did it say that if you order the short ribs you'll be ripped off. I was so excited to go out to dinner and so disappointed as to what was out in front of us. I don't mind paying money for a good dinner but this was very disappointing. I used to LOVE PF Chang's. Not sure what happened to this restaurant or if they are under new management. I came here for my birthday with my family. I told the girl over the phone that it was my birthday when making the reservation. I had 14 people. We were seated against the back wall by the windows which was great because I didn't want to be in the center of the restaurant give how large my party was. We had 2 servers who apparently didn't like each other because they did not hide that AT ALL. Our drink orders were taken and then both servers disappeared for 15-20 mins. Then one of the guys came with drinks for half the table. The other half sat there with no drinks for another 5-10 mins or so. After the drinks were served, they 2 gentleman walked away again and we couldn't locate them to order appetizers. My cousin had to go to the front desk to ask where our servers were. They finally came after another 15 mins and we ordered appetizers and the main course because they would probably disappear again. The food wasn't back. They did make some mistakes with soups and some entrees but nothing to complain about, the food runner quickly took care of everything. Best part- they forgot to sing me happy birthday. When my aunt walked over to tell the server, he apologized and said he forgot. I'll be back here just with a small party and not for a special occasion. read more

Okay, so I used to absolutely love this place. I mean it was my favorite americanized chinese place since forever. I went yesterday for lunch and the food quality just went down the drain. I'm sorry, I was truly disappointed and I used to never have an off experience here. First of all, the hot and sour soup was not hot like it used to be, the flavors were so bland, like what happened to the heat? Where was the spice? Also, it got cool in like 2 minutes which I also didn't like. I feel like the pot they used to bring it in kept it much hotter. Okay, so I decided to get the mangolian beef as my lunch portion because that was always a winner in my book. It now had an option for fried rice. Let's start with the beef, it used to be so much better, the slices were cut up better, these ones I had were huge, chunky and overly chewy. Furthermore, that was not fried rice that I was served. That was simple white rice that had soy sauce on it and no flavor at all, where were the veggies, where was the pieces of egg, that was not fried rice and they also up charge you for fried rice. I should have stuck to my normal brown rice and called it a day. Also, those crab ragoons I used to rave about, most were missing half their filling, where is the crab? They were tiny and not filled enough with the glorious stuff they used to have. Our server was nice and the atmosphere still remains nice so they get two stars for that, but I'm sad that one of my favorite americanized chinese places went so down the hill food quality wise since I used to tell everyone to come here. It's not authentic Asian. It's P.F. Chang's! We like their food, indoor ambience and wait staff a whole lot. The Northbrook location is lovely inside, with a warm, open, airy, comfortable feeling of Prairie Style updated Asian tea house mountain ranch home, similar actually to Wildfire in Glenview. Their outdoor eating area views the Northbrook Court west parking lot and Lake Cook road. Lettuce wraps. All dumplings, when pan-fried. Spare ribs. Mongolian Beef. Beef with Broccoli. Chang's Signature Rice. Brown rice. (Add your favourite here) All delicious! Their full bar is extravagantly huge and an enjoyable place to both drink and eat. Many good beers: local, craft, imported, on tap and in bottles and cans. Wines are fine. The only dessert we like is their chocolate cake, the Great Wall of Chocolate, which is indeed overwhelmingly chain restaurant huge and imposing and fudgey. Everything but their lunch specials is a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. Some time ago they repurposed most of their bussers, which has led to dirty tables and seating upon arrival, stacks of dishes crowding table throughout one's meal and overworked wait staff. I would have preferred to give 3.5 stars but I'll give them the benifit of the doubt as I think 3 is too low for them. I'm a regular at of Changs across the country and this is one of the locations I like the most. Staff is usually very friendly and the service is on point. An ideal dinner after shopping at northbrook court since its in the same parking lot. Not too many restaurants attached to the mall and Id much rather do the PF Changs over the stir crazy that's actually in the mall. The Changs spicy chicken is one of the safest bets on the menu. It us a bit spicy but you can ask them to dumb it down a bit. I prefer it spicy. The Mongolian beef is also excellent and their fried rice is awesome. If you come before you can get a lunch special which will actually include fried rice. I hate that I have to drop and extra $10 if I want fried rice on the side instead of the white or brown rice they serve. The white or brown rice they give out is pretty bad. I'm not sure how someone can mess up rice so often but it always comes out Dry and crunchy with no taste at all. So if your gonna go might as well shell out the extra $10 and enjoy your meal. For the appetizer I actually prefer the vegetarian lettuce wraps over the chicken lettuce wraps. Definitely worth a look. I have also had the ahi tuna tartar which I wouldn't recommend as it's missing some flavor. They need to add more to it bring some flavor out. Here is another place I have a hard time passing when I drive on Lake Cook Road! All the years I have been coming here, my go to meal is: Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps Mongolian Beef Really no reason to order anything else. Their Lettuce wraps are one of the very best apps you can get. Every time I have had them, they have been great! My reason for not doing five stars: Really don't know the rest of the menu, and it's a little pricey. Will tell you this though, in the summer its a great place to eat outside. That is worth an extra .5 star So 4.5 stars is my rating! Also on a side note, I like the beef enough, I found the copy cat version and make it at home twice a month. read more

Dang. Northbrook has better food quality than Woodfield! But their service doesn't compare to wfd. I have to say, best egg drop soup I've ever had in my life! Hands down, even better than other PF locations. Also best crab fried rice. Hugeeee lumps of crab in almost every bite, plus I could actually taste the sriracha (cough cough, woodfield wtf). The hostess was kind of rude, and our waitress literally held the Chinese takeout box up to her chest while holding a plate and scraping the left-overs into a box. I am officially a fan. I had always heard the rave reviews of PF Chang's but hadn't been there... until yesterday. We went there for a work lunch and wow, I was impressed. Sure, the food is slightly Americanized but it is done really well. For our appetizers, we ordered the lettuce wraps with chicken. It was truly unique and I liked the ability to flavor the sauce myself, adding spice to my particular taste. We also had the fried greenbean dish. They were great and the dipping sauce was excellent. For my entree, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I have been on a bit of a pineapple kick lately so it sounded like a safe bet. I was impressed. The flavors were all perfect and the density of the sauce didn't leave my chicken soggy, like many other places. I also tried a bit of the kung pow chicken my coworker ordered. It was equally as delicious. In both cases, the chicken was cooked perfectly. The service was great. We had the cutest dimpled cheek waiter who seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. He was knowledgeable about the menu, gracious and thoughtful in his interaction with us, and our meal was perfectly timed. I will be back! read more

So, we had been out all day car shopping. We were quite a ways from home. The weather was questionable and we were tired. We were relieved to find P. F. Chang's in the circular drive of Northbrook Court Mall. We just wanted a good, hot meal that we could enjoy before retiring for the evening. I had the combination Signature House Lo Mein. My guest had the Lobster and Shrimp Rice. She ordered the rice thinking it would be spicy, but it wasn't. We had to request hot chili paste to spice things up a bit. With a good mixing we spiced up both the noodles and the rice. So be sure to indicate that you want your spicy foods spicy. I can say, though, the food was good as usual. The service was ok, had to wait a bit for our server to come around but other than that the visit went well. I want to add this about this location, it is not as romantic as some of the others. This one had patio seating and was more of family oriented dining. The level of service was comparable to its environment but definitely not all P. F. Chang's can be considered equal. read more

Been there numerous times, yet management today is beyond poor. I was there and the police were called due to a couple of guests not getting along. The management was non-existent until the police arrived. it is a sad day when we need to call police and waste our tax dollars on events like this. I emailed corporate and no response? humm, that says a lot about their support too. 3 weeks later, no response from Corporate or Local management?
