Nice restaurant, good service but the food wasn't good. Appetizer of lettuce wraps was decent in taste and portion but our main entree lacked in flavor. We had the shrimp and steak and unfortunately the shrimp was breaded, a bit too overly breaded and the steak didn't have any flavor to it. We also ordered some sort of sweet chicken but it wasn't something I'd come back and dine there for. Their sides are either white or brown rice and it's a decent amount which you could share with others. Overall I don't believe the quality of food is worth the price or the trip to the restaurant, which is disappointing seeing as it's such a popular named restaurant. read more

A couple of my relatives are patrons here. They brought me along with them one day. It was a weekday afternoon, and the place wasn't bursting at the seams. We were able to park our car without a hitch in front of the entrance. There was a small number of people who were eating inside when we arrived. We were seated right away by the hostess who ushered us to our table but she was running into a bad day, as likely as not. Unluckily, that was something that we hadn't prepared for prior to facing her. She acted wooden and unrelenting. As someone who's the first in line to welcome guests and deal with them, hospitality is constantly expected from her even if the guest wasn't able to hear once or twice what she was asking her. One could always repeat in a calm and sunny demeanor. This is just a note.   Moving on to the food, my relatives have a taste for the hot and sour soup and the Mongolian beef to boot... I don't. I found the broth overly tangy and salty, and the beef was slightly tough. The BBQ spare ribs that we had tasted average. A forkful of their crispy green beans caught a sprinkling of my interest though, especially when immersed into its sauce on the side. They were crispened just the right way. The chicken lettuce wrap is a signature dish by them. Every nibble of it was out-and-out capital which I would definitely recommend for new customers to try. I could have a more exciting fried rice in other Chinese restaurants, but the lo mein here was very palatable... not oily at all. I could also get some more of it next time. There is a bar inside the restaurant. The large dining area is spick and span. You could feel an inviting ambience from their warm decors. This place is very ideal for big groups or families. Their ladies' room is comparatively tidy, too. The service was a tad slow-moving, but our server was polite and helpful. There was already a different hostess when we paid for our bill, and she was apparently much more gracious than the other. The cost of every order that we had was appropriate for some and for the rest, they could improve the dishes for us to get the most value of what we pay for. The portions were enough. I wouldn't go out of my way just to turn up here. I'd give this restaurant another chance if I am in the neighborhood, or after I'm done shopping in the mall. read more

Haven't been to P.F.Chang's since the pandemic set in, but we always liked it in the past so we stopped by there today around 1:15. Place was almost empty so we thought great, service will be quick. But when we stepped to the desk, the hostess asked for our telephone number, and we said thanks but we don't like to give that out. She said she needed it to make a reservation, so we asked why we needed a reservation since there were dozens of open tables. She replied they were for the time being a "reservations only" restaurant so she couldn't seat us without our phone number so she could input it, make a reservation, and seat us! I laughed, said "no wonder there's no one here" and we left. True story. read more

We normally come to P.F Chang's during their happy hour special so this review might be a little bias. The service we get is not bad but it's not great, it's just ok. Nothing wrong with that, I can't recall ever having a bad experience. We normally get the ginger beer, lettuce wraps, a couple spicy tuna rolls and the calamari. After it's all set and done we walk out of there full and the bill is no more than $30 bucks! I can't really complain! Their happy hour runs until 6:00pm so make sure to be on time! read more

Met an old friend at this P.F. Changs for happy hour. We sat at the bar near the TV so we could watch the Cubs game. (They won this one...) Let's start with the perplexing. There is not a lot of room to get by the hostess station to enter the bar. The staff seems to congregate there without noticing you when you try to pass. In fairness, they were watching the game. But, they shouldn't block the way to the bar; they should be more observant of their patrons trying to get past them; but more than that, they should pay enough attention to what goes on around them - like someone almost having to raise their voice to get them to move enough to let you by. I'm afraid that colored the rest of my evening. They had a number of specials for happy hour. I had a Revolution IPA. Together we ordered three appetizers off the happy hour menu, (1) lettuce wraps, (2) chicken satay and (3) spicy tuna rolls. They were all quite good. But, I can't get by the initial experience of trying to get in. Note to management - watch your staff. Even if we think our Cubbies might actually make the playoffs, you have customers. I have only been here once before, and the one word that summed up that visit was... drum roll, please... salty. Flash forward to 2012. That adjective still holds true, and the other part of the experience that stuck (besides quality friendses time) was the flightyness of the waitress. Yes, it was a busy, crowded Sunday night, but why wait until 3 out of the 4 of us are done with the soup to come back and take dinner orders? We tried to catch our waitress' attention a couple times throughout the meal too, and she wasn't very conscientious or attentive. At the end of dinner, a couple of us asked for takeout boxes; after several minutes, the waitress brought a stack of to-go cartons and a couple paper bags on a tray, plopped them down by our table side and went to refill the water glasses at the next table. What? Only when she saw us beginning to pack our leftovers ourselves did she come over and all of a sudden offer to do it for us. That was weird. Speaking of weird, you will not find any salt shakers on the table, though you shouldn't need it imho, as the food itself is already extremely salty. One of my dining mates requested salt, and it was brought out in a little sauce cup. Does PF Chang's only carry salt in bulk because I think so. I ordered the half Cantonese duck, and while it was initially tasty, I was dying of thirst from the saltiness of the meat and sauce that was all over the plate. I took a group of people from work here. After waiting a while to get a waitress, she took our drink order, but never came back. We thought she quit or was fired, couldn't tell. The manager came out and said he's serve us and took our orders. We repeated drink orders and then our drinks showed up. We thought things would get better. We were wrong. We never really saw this manager serve us again because the Bulls coach came and must have been more important, so we were relegated to some random servers. It took about 15 minutes to get appetizers, they were ok. I tried some summer special with duck, but it tasted more like my grass in my yard. When I could catch a waitress, we asked about our soups they forgot. Then we waited forever for our meals. Could have waited longer. I had the Changs special and it was the first chinese food I've ever had with tomatoes and cucumbers!!! It wasn't spicy, but was sweet. I'm guessing this is fake Chinese. While all this is going on we got to Watch Thibs get catered by the manager. Nice. BTW, when we received our meals it was 7 or 8. 8th was lost. When we were done we received the 8th. Another case of unacceptable customer service. Stopped in after being at Northbrook Court and walked out after sitting at the bar for 10 minutes without seeing a single employee behind the bar. There were other patrons at the bar, eating and dining. And the restaurant had a fair amount of people. Isn't the bar the most profitable section of a restaurant? So, where was the bar tender? More importantly, the manager making sure sections of the restaurant were being attended to? I understand the staff shortages due to the pandemic, and I am not one to demand immediate service, but no one to be seen behind the bar in over 10 minutes is unacceptable. read more

Because of my work schedule, I eat here at least 5 days a week. I've had every dish and drink at least twice and the food is always fast and on point. I'm on a first name basis with all of the staff, it's like they're my second family. They bust their buns Everytime im there and I couldn't imagine NOT having the staff and management in my life. I love PF Chang's, but had never been to this location until a friend set-up a dinner here for a bunch of people coming in to town. Wow. This one is like a crack den! I was about ten minutes early and literally saw at least 20 people come in for take away and another 30 come in for reservartions. Those without were relegated to a "20-30 minute wait" and this place is big - it was 7:00 and the place was jammed! Once seated, our waiter was great and didn't rush us while we caught up with each other. We ended up with a bottle of wine and some shared appetizers and entrees and loved them all. He even suggested the great wall of chocolate could be split among the 5 of us and we happily agreed! Totally different vibe than the one downtown and the one in Lombard - I would definitely go back and I wished I lived near one because I never thought about take away at this place! read more

I am a fan to an extent. The food portions are huge and the price is reasonable. The menu has a lot of variety. Oh and the deserts are very very tasty. Lunch deals are great too. Under 10 dollars for a soup and a entree. You get a choice of hot and sour or the egg drop soup, I prefer the egg drop since I don't do spicy. I've tried the sesame chicken and the honey chicken. I think that the honey one taste better if you like your meat sweet, which is what I prefer. However, with the sesame chicken you get a lot of vegetables, which I also love. Oh and for the main dishes you can get either brown or white rice, good option to give to people. The servers are always very friendly, however, it was a tad slow last time, especially with bringing the check to us. This is not a fancy meal by any means, nor are the dishes extremely full of amazing flavor... But if you are hungry and want some Chinese, I think you will leave happy. read more

In between i spoke to two waitresses (one in training) and two managers. One of the managers thought it was a joke and tried to play it off. This will be the last time I come here. First time here. Prob last time here. Food was mostly way too sweet. It's like they put sugar in everything. The only enjoyable thing there was the company I was with. We were celebrating a birthday. But if I were to recommend something, the only thing I liked was the red curry coconut with rice and the lettuce wraps were alright. Haven't been here since Pre-pandemic and was very disappointed. The vegetable Lo mein was mostly noodles, few vegetables, and no taste. The honey chicken was served cool, not close to hot. The Kung pao chicken was way too spicy, the chicken over cooked and dry. Almost inedible. We asked for potsticker sauce where it used to be prepared at the table..they didn't do this and served us teriyaki sauce in a bowl. Definitely not the same quality and ingredients we are used to. We complained to the server who said they get a lot of complaints. Wow. We have been very happy with Chef Ping in Rolling Meadows where they never miss a beat and every single dish is spectacular. We will be going there now. Such a shame. Oh and we had to remind the server three times for more water, to bring forks and plates for the dessert. We have loved P.F. Chang's for many years and were really looking forward to our dinner last night. What a huge disappointment. The lettuce wraps were still delicious although the iceberg lettuce was dripping with water. But it was downhill after that. The Mongolian beef was so tough that I had to ask for a knife to cut it Even then it was very difficult to chew. The scallions were the worst of the very top of the onion and the overall flavor of the dish was disappointing. The Singapore noodles came out cold. I had the waitress take them back to the kitchen. They came back hot but the noodles themselves were chewy, the dish was overly spicy (and we love spicy!) and there were just a few tiny shrimp and some small pieces of overcooked chicken. The waitress talked to the chef after I told her he really needed to know about the terrible quality of the meat and she came back and said he offered to give us a free dessert. No thank you! We tried eating the leftovers we brought home but ended up throwing them all away. I do not plan to go back. read more

I will never order from here again...The nasty hostess at the front would not allow my family to dine in because my infant child had to sit in the booster seat provided by the restaurant and not allow the stroller in. My daughter is too small to sit in the booster seat and always sits in her stroller when my husband and I dine out. This is the first time we were faced with such harassment. Eh...as someone who generally scoffs at Amercanized food (which is what you'll find in any major chain, be it Italian, Mexican, etc.), I didn't have high hopes for PF Chang's. The place itself was nice and roomy, and we got a second glass of our drinks before anyone was even halfway done with their first. This turned out to be a strategic move by our waiter, as he was MIA until the food came, and again when we wanted our check at the end. I ordered the honey crispy chicken based on other Yelper's recommendations, but I didn't really get the "crispy" part. It was more soggy with a sad fried coating, but the sauce was good. They offered a choice of white or brown rice which I found refreshing, and the brown rice was all right (I'm not a fan of it in general, but I had been eating white rice daily at dinner). Overall, I just don't think it's worth the price, and I won't be going here on my own dollar. read more

PF Chang's is about as consistent as it gets. You can eat at one anywhere and get the same product. Hopefully, you like the food or you are SOL. I had no expectation of authentic Chinese food, but it you are craving Chimerican food, this is the place to go. Nice decor (the same in all restaurants), good cocktails and excellent choices of fish and veggies in addition to beef, this is the place to go. I was craving something familiar ala California as I was homesick from eating at a lousy hotel. It worked like a charm. I had come here a few years ago when my family had recently moved into the area, and we had had a pretty uninspiring experience. I just gave it another try with my mom before seeing a movie at AMC in Northbrook Court, and now I see why people love it so much. We were seated immediately around 6:00 pm on a Tuesday night, outside in beautiful 70-degree weather. We ordered some drinks, and while they initially told my mom they didn't have what she was looking for (San Pellegrino), they offered her soda water instead... Then the waiter came out with some San P. he had found after all! I enjoyed my bottomless Diet Coke. We ordered the vegetarian lettuce wraps as an appetizer, and followed the waiter's advice to mix some chili paste into the soy sauce and put that on the wraps. So, so good. And thus I have been indoctrinated into the PF Chang Lettuce Wrap cult. For our entrees, I ordered the coconut curry vegetables, while my mom got the Singapore Street Noodles. Both of us had trouble stopping, even though we felt stuffed... It tasted so amazing. Mine was fresh and zesty, and the brown rice gave it extra body and flavor. The tofu especially was silky and soaked up the coconut curry sauce amazingly. I had half of it for lunch the next day... and it was just as good. I take back every ambivalent reaction I've ever had to hearing someone mention PF Chang's. Yay! I'm a fan. PS - They offer free valet parking, if there are no spots near the restaurant entrance! One of my daughter's faves, I usually pass but wanted to indulge her.Went later on a Sunday night so crowding was not an issue. Nice location, friendly staff, we received great service from Joe, highly recommend him. Don't linger though because he is leaving town June 2015. I also appreciated the fact that they were open until 10pm because I was running late from a meeting. We started with the lettuce wraps and wontons, split a large bottle Sapporo with the wife, which ends up being a $5 beer each way. PF is generous with the lemonade for the kids, always putting another one in front of them. My wife and I split the Thailand noodle which was actually pretty good. Joe even hooked us up with a wall of chocolate cake for my birthday, what a guy! Joe is trying to win Bears tickets so he can go see a game before he moves away (he has never been). So I received a promotional mailer from PF Changs for a weekday dinner special and we trooped in one fine Wednesday evening. Like many of their other locations the place was busy but we were quickly seated. Super hungry after a long day, we ordered a new item on their menu - Cauliflower Tempura. Just one word for this dish - AWESOME! The plate size was perfect as an appetizer to be shared between two. The florets were perfectly fried and then tossed in a delicate sweet & spicy sauce. Make sure to give this a try. For mains we shared a portion of Vegetable Fried Rice. The chef was sure generous with the ingredients and for that I would like to appreciate! We had asked for the dish to be done spicy but it was not, am thinking they would pay better attention next time. I also got the free entree order of Long Life Noodles & Prawns. Taste wise it was superb and the prawns had an excellent crunch. My qualm however was that the prawns were fried Shell On, which is certainly not my taste. I wish the menu or our server pointed that. I ended up having to remove the shells myself, in the process lost out on a lot of that amazing coating. The one thing that kept me excited about this dish were the flavors otherwise. Ordered for pick up on Xmas eve for a 5 pm pick up. When we arrived at 5, we called to let them know we were there. Nobody answered the phone. So I walked in. Restaurant full of angry people waiting on their orders. No social distancing, but the staff was in utter chaos. I asked and they said they were working on it. 45 minutes later after voicing my displeasure they finally brought it out of the kitchen And then, the food. The Mongolian beef was dried out, the dinner for 6 had enuf soup for 2 people, and the only thing that was hot was the white rice. Obviously our food was sitting there for a while and nobody bothered to bag it. Never again will I order take out from them. In this pandemic, you would think they would try harder. I hate writing bad reviews on Yelp. Most of the time, I will say nothing at all and chalk a bad meal up to someone's "off" day. I ordered 2 lunch bowls for pickup from Northbrook yesterday. The Mongolian beef was probably the worst I have ever had in my life. The beef was incredibly dry and tough- almost as if it had been cooked a LONG time before my pickup and then microwaved several times for good measure. There were about 2 pieces I was able to chew all the way through- the rest I had to spit out. And maybe I still wouldn't be writing this if there was any taste (or tasty sauce) to at least embellish the shoe leather being presented in my bowl as beef. I also ordered the crispy honey shrimp bowl. The "tangy honey sauce" was like toxic sweet and sour sauce, and because if was poured heavy-handedly over the "lightly battered" shrimp, it was congealed mush by the time I got it home (only 15 minutes after pick up). At least I could chew the shrimp but even the neighborhood Chinese places know to pack the sauce separately when it goes on a breaded item! Even with all of this, I might have let it go- but this is the second time I have had unchewable beef here- and they are expensive! $16 per lunch bowl- thank goodness I didn't get the entrees at $24 and $20, respectively. Wow, this food is straight hot garbage. I ordered a chicken pad Thai and it's an oily mess. It doesn't even taste like pad Thai, it tastes like noodles with oil. My wife got food poisoning at a PF Chang's about 10 years ago and has refused to go back. Finally, we convinced her to give it another shot. So tonight we got take out. I think it will be another 20 before she agrees to go back. If ever. First, we'd ordered the wonton soup with no pork. So the wonton soup arrived without...wontons. I don't know if they simply forgot the wontons, or didn't include them because they all have pork. If the latter, the order taker may have mentioned it. That's not so bad. It gets worse. My wife bit into her broccoli beef and felt a sharp object. Here is a picture. Can you imagine if she'd swallowed it? I called to complain and the manager explained that it was from the scrubbie, the hard metal brush they use to clean the pots. Apparently this one broke off and the washer didn't rinse the pot well enough to get rid of it. The manager was very nice and apologetic, as I'd expect him to be, and comped that item and the soup. And the rest of the food? Marginal. Small portions. Over-priced. I would give it 3 stars if not for the scrubbie. read more

Ok...I know people like to knock chains, but I love P.F. Chang's. They are the only real chain that I like coming back to. The dynamite shrimp is amazing...along with the lettuce wraps with chicken. Just great texture and nice and light. The shrimp and lobster fried rice was such a hit. I was worried it was gonna be fishy but it wasn't at all . And it had s little sauce to it so it didn't feel dry . The sechauan beef was really really good but the ratio of the meat to veggies was a bit off. We had a ton of veggies left over. Pepper chicken was also very good. Street noodles was the only thing i didn't care for...but the parents really enjoyed it. Overall a great meal with good service . read more

Placed an online order and the wait time was 2 hours which I gave them. When I called to ask for pick up they didn't have the decency to tell me the order wasn't ready so I waited outside for 10 minutes more. Finally went inside to be told that it would be a " wait" with a nonchalant employee up front not even answering me properly. Sadly I had pre paid for the order so had to wait it out. Worse possible service and this is when they weren't busy. Can learn a few lessons on costumer service. Employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. read more
