Food: As you would expect from a steakhouse and supper club, the menu is extensive, with plenty of appetizers, steaks, seafood, and even pizza. We started with cocktails. I ordered the Sangria special, while others had the Mint Margarita and the Peachy Keen Smash. All of them were very good, with delicious flavor profiles and enough alcohol to let you know you were having a real cocktail. For an appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, finished with hot honey and pomegranate seeds. They were delicious. Crispy just the way we like them, served hot, and generously portioned. There were plenty of great entrée choices, and we settled on the Lamb Chops for me, because if lamb is on the menu, I'm probably ordering it, the "Best in Wisconsin" Pork Chops, and the Scallop Cacciatore. Each entrée came with a nice house salad and warm bread. The lamb was excellent, heavily seasoned with rosemary, nicely charred, and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The roasted potatoes and carrots were also very good. The pork chops really were some of the best we've ever had at a restaurant. Both the broiled and breaded versions were excellent, and it was hard to pick a favorite. The Scallop Cacciatore was also good. They used quality scallops and seared them nicely without overcooking them. The pasta sauce, however, had more red pepper flakes than my wife preferred. She loves scallops but isn't a fan of spicy food, so this probably wasn't the best choice for her. We wanted dessert, so we made sure to leave room and took plenty of leftovers home. The Brandy Alexander was made perfectly. They use scooped ice cream rather than soft serve, which gave the drink a thicker texture with a few small chunks of ice cream. The tiramisu was also excellent. It was served at room temperature, had a distinct coffee flavor, and wasn't overly sweet. A very nice finish to an excellent meal. Service: We received excellent service throughout the entire evening. From the moment we arrived and for the next couple of hours, we were consistently well attended to. Everything was well timed, from the water and cocktails to the entrées and dessert. The service was efficient without ever making us feel rushed. Since they asked whether we were celebrating a special occasion, they surprised me with a complimentary strawberry cake for my birthday. Our server was friendly, efficient, and helpful throughout the evening. Thanks, Patty! The manager also stopped by a couple of times to check on us, which was a nice touch. Atmosphere: It's a beautiful setting. The woodwork, windows, lighting, and overall design are all very well done. The restaurant feels polished and well cared for without making you feel like you need to dress especially fancy to enjoy it. There was one thing that detracted from the otherwise beautiful atmosphere for me. A couple of televisions over the bar are visible from parts of the dining room. That's not something I expect during a fine-dining experience, and I found them distracting. On our next visit, I'll ask for a table where the TVs are either out of view or less noticeable. Overall, this was an excellent experience. Aside from the television issue, it was a lovely evening with outstanding food and service. Johnny's definitely exceeded my expectations, and it's a place we'd be happy to return to.

We chose to sit outside because the restaurant was very cold inside, but the outdoor seating area had so many flowers that we were constantly bothered by bugs and flies. It was also difficult to enjoy our meal with the smoking area located so close to the outdoor tables. One definite positive was the Brewers shuttle to American Family Field. Our driver was friendly, professional, and very safe. We truly appreciated that service. Unfortunately, we have also noticed that takeout pizza orders seem to be made with fewer ingredients. During our previous visit, we ordered extra cheese on our takeout pizza but clearly did not receive it. It came with tomato bisque but I advised that I would take it home, so I'll write about that a little later. The plate arrived quickly. It was one of those large, shallow bowls and was filled with a LOT of marinara. The plate was cool to the touch and, sure enough, my pasta and shrimp (I tried both) were barely warm. I advised my server of such and asked that it be wrapped up to take home. I finished my rose, paid my bill, and left. I heated up the food at home. This actually gave me a chance to study the food in better light, as restaurants are always too dim for my eyes. The raviolis were HUGE - these giant circles of pasta with tiny filled centers that reminded me of depictions of flying saucers. In all honesty, they looked utterly silly. There was so much pasta, and very little filling. The filling was supposed to be mushroom and cheese, but I could only taste the creamy cheese. Why you have to use cheese for a mushroom ravioli, I have no idea. As I indicated before, there was a LOT of sauce - far more than was needed. It was PEPPERY, to the point where, by the time I was done with the pasta and shrimp, I wanted nothing more to do with the sauce. I don't tolerate pepper or hot peppers (they aren't related) very well. Why there was so much pepper is anyone's guess. I heated up the tomato bisque the next day. It was very tasty, although it, too, was somewhat peppery (but not like the marinara). For a bisque, it was lumpy. I'll go back sometime, but they need some work in a few areas.

The restaurant was busy, but that didn't slow down our amazing server, Kayla C. She was so kind, funny, and attentive. Such a gem! She checked in on us throughout the meal, kept our drinks full, and made sure everyone was enjoying their food. We started with appetizers, including the famous onion strings, which definitely lived up to the hype. Next came fresh salads and plenty of warm breadsticks. Kayla was happy to customize the salads for family members with different dressing preferences, which we really appreciated. The entrees were so good and very generously portioned. The menu has a great variety, making it easy for everyone in our group to find something they enjoyed. One family member brought in a bakery cake for the birthday celebration, and Kayla even offered to have it sliced for us, which was such a thoughtful touch (even though she was a bit disappointed that she missed singing "Happy Birthday!")! I've tried most of the menu items, with the exception of the lasagna, and everything has been very good. They also serve a delicious sangria. This year, I finally tried their cannoli, and I was blown away by how good it was. It's not quite as good as one that's freshly filled to order, but it's surprisingly close. If you order the Italian sausage sandwich, be sure to add the grilled onions and peppers. While you're at it, don't miss the giardiniera from the condiment table. It adds just the right amount of flavor and heat. The staff who work these events are always super friendly and do a terrific job.

For an appetizer I couldn't decide between the wood fired breadsticks or the veal & beef meatballs, so I got both, and went with the bianca pizza for my entree, adding mild Italian sausage to it. The wood fired breadsticks were meh. Unfortunately, I didn't taste any of the herb mix that they were supposed to be brushed with. The meatballs, on the other hand, were flavorful and delicate. If I were to do an appetizer next time I visit I would consider the meatballs and pass on the breadsticks. The bianca pizza was outstanding. The sauce was initially a little runny, so I had to let it firm up a bit before picking up a slice, but it was worth the wait. The crust had fantastic chew and was a stark contrast to the harder breadsticks. This is something I would gladly get again.
