This Italian restaurant is in the heart of Oconomowoc. I had high hopes for dinner because I had…read morewanted to try this restaurant for awhile. The service from the time we arrived till the end of dinner was perfect. Rob, our server was attentive and polite. The ambiance was lovely as well. I love a restaurant with white tablecloths and lights on the table. We were seated at a window with a view of the lake. The wine list was extensive. As was the cocktail menu. My martini was perfect. As was my husband's Manhattan. We ordered the meatballs as a anti-pasta starter. That's where things started to go wrong.. the meatball was to be made of short ribs, peas, and rice. There was a tiny speck of short rib. One. Tiny. Speck. It was all rice. My husbands dish was amazing. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. It was probably the worst I've ever had. Rubbery and lacking flavor. I normally love eggplant Parmesan. How can you screw this up? They knew we were there for our anniversary. Not one person mentioned it, until we did. Rob did bring us a complimentary dessert, which was very sweet. Overall, I would not return. Maybe for a lunch, but not for dinner.

Okay, Su Lago... we see you Just wow--across the board…read more The building itself is stunning, perfectly situated right on Lac La Belle Lake and serving up all the dreamy lake-country vibes. Inside, the décor is clearly intentional, with thoughtful details that make the space feel warm, elevated, and inviting. The service was outstanding. We had a fairly large group (around 10 people), and not once did anyone go without water, drinks, or a friendly check-in to make sure everything was perfect. Truly attentive without feeling overbearing. If you're an Italian food lover, this is absolutely the place. Pasta, bread, steak--they have it all, and nothing disappointed. And the cheese wheel?! You don't need a trip to Italy for that experience. Watching my son's noodles get coated in rich, melty cheese tableside was both delicious and memorable--an experience all on its own. Su Lago delivers on atmosphere, service, and food. We'll definitely be back.

A great choice if you are craving Italian food with a nice ambiance. As mentioned by other…read morereviewers, it can get crowded and reservations are definitely a better idea then chancing a walk-in. All of the servers that we have ever had here have been really, really nice as well as well informed as to the menu. The lasagna here is PHENOMENAL!! My wife and I usually order different dishes so that we can try new things, but here we always both order the lasagna. A typical night for us looks like an order of the bruschetta as an app, two lasagna entrees...and maybe a few vodka sodas and captain and diets to wash things down :) I have also tried the pizza a few times, and it is good...but the heart in my stomach is in love with the lasagna.

We tried a cranberry and apple salad with scallops. The scallops were the best part. The beer list was more interesting than the wine list, but they did have several wines available by the glass. 4/5 Service: Both the bartender and Andrea our server were very attentive 4.5/5 Ambience: huge parking lot surrounding the restaurant. There was apparently a birthday party for a six-year-old with some very wild children running about. Once they left, the place was much more pleasant. 3.5/5

Their front patio is very welcoming and has plenty of seating. We opted for inside however, as it was a tad chilly during our visit. The inside is welcoming too though: rustic like bar area, big dining room, and an open kitchen. Shout out Scott for taking care of us- what and friendly guy, with attentive service. Not to mention he knew everything on that menu like the back of his hand. Big fan of both my gin martini, and my blackened grouper entree. And let me tell ya it was a tough pick because there are tons of delicious-sounding options here. But in the end, that grouper was perfect. It came atop of multigrain rice, roasted red peppers, spinach, black beans, and mushrooms. Plus the roasted red pepper cream sauce was chefs kiss. Everyone else at the table also cleared their plates: thin crust pizza, short ribs, and sea scallop risotto. Clearly you can't go wrong here. Definitely a bit on the pricey side in my opinion, but I suppose you do get what you pay for!
