Way better experience than the last time I tried P Terrys! Ordered a few double cheeseburgers, fries, and drinks for the family. Paid and drove around. The food arrived fast and hot. Overall way better food than the other location I tried and will be back if my family is with me. The liked it. Very similar feel to in n out...

Landed in Austin pretty late around 11 and was hungry so decided to swing by P Terry's because where else would we go?! It's a Texas staple and wanted to try it out. Ended up going through the drive through and ordering: *cheeseburger - this burger was not bad - ended up getting it without tomatoes and lettuce but with grilled onions and enjoyed it. Not the best but not bad for a late night fast food burger *fries - these are fresh and crispy and not gonna lie I loved these!!! Overall good experience!

We love P. Terry's. The burgers are simple and classic. The ingredients are fresh and local. This means we can eat a burger and not feel like crap afterwards. The French fries are always hit or miss based on the cook, time of day, etc. they can be a bit softer, or rock hard, or anywhere in between. It's definitely their most inconsistent cook experience. The milkshakes are a treat every now and again and they're always perfect and classically simple. All in all, there's really nothing bad to say. If you want a burger and fries and you've been going to in-n-out or whattaburger then you're going to LOVE p. Terry's. This location is our goto. My dog Bruce always tags along and we (I) yell "BURGER BOYS!" before getting in the car. They're always so excited to see Bruce and always have a treat for him. The real reason he likes going. The employees at this particular location are always so friendly, somehow more so than any other location. If you're in the area, stop on by.

Setting/Service The staff here is very nice and personable. Only downside to this location is that there is only outdoor seating. Food: I ordered the double cheeseburger with grilled onions and a cookie. The burger had nice flavor and good balance of ingredients. The beef tastes fresh and gets the classic smash burger taste. The cookie was pretty great too. Interesting, buttery flavor and soft. Impressive that they make these in-house. Overall: This place has solid food. But when you factor in the price, it's impressive at what you get vs what you paid for. Both items came out to a total of less than $6.

    Very cheap

Very cheap but I don't think I would come back again. Veggie burger was wack. Only plus was rootbeer shake - they use root beer soda and vanilla shake.

First time ever having p terry's! Great restaurant with fresh fries and a good tasting burger! Better than any other fast food chain I've been to!

Solid burgers and great fries and shakes

Not sure what all the hype is about. It is a good burger, just not great. The fries and milk shakes are very good. Very friendly staff. Would come back as it is a solid burger.

this was initially going to be a 5 star service review but very quickly went downhill. a week ago, my car caught on fire in the drive through, and the employees and manager working that night handled it amazingly and helped put my car out. i had to leave it in the parking lot due to that fact, i let them know it might be a few days to a week till i could tow it and i was guaranteed both then AND on saturday that my car wouldn't be touched and that no one would tow it. on thursday i came to get my car, and it had been towed. i tried to get an answer from the staff working who gave me zero empathy, answers, or kindness. after being directly told my car would be fine, they broke their word and towed it. after leaving and later trying to call the restaurant to find out the towing information, i was told "i could come to the restaurant myself" and find it, to which i said "i do not HAVE a car because you towed it" to which they essentially told me that that's not their problem. i asked if they could simply step outside for 10 seconds to read me the number to which they responded "no we're busy". this has been one of the most horrible weeks of my life, and initially, i had all the praise for this staff in how they've helped their neighbor. unfortunately, the rest of the staff seem to lack any slightest trace of kindness, empathy, or respect. you have made my horrific week even more horrific. thank you pterrys, for the additional headaches, tears, and $300 charge to get my BURNT car out of impound!

Ask the Community - P. Terry's Burger Stand

Hi, it says they have vegan options, but it looks like all their items contain dairy. Even the veggie patty. Any vegan options?

Our current vegan items are: Fries, Lemonade, and Soft Drinks. We're working on more vegan offerings, but we don't have a definite release date set yet. I hope this helps answer your question!

First of all it gets extremely busy, I mean drive thru line to the street.. so for this reason I opted for indoor dining... Customer service was great! Yes it was busy, there were hardly seats available, but the staff was working.. they were polite and patient... The menu is pretty straightforward... chicken fingers! I tried the number 1... the chicken fingers are - good size. It comes with slaw, Texas toast and fries.... The slaw is good! Fries were fries but they were also good.. I did not try the Texas toast... but the chicken... Let's talk about this soft crispy chicken tender, that was fried to perfection.. one bite of this chicken and there is a burst of flavor... flavor that tells you this chicken was well seasoned.. these chicken fingers were huge so I could only have 1 1/2... But yes the flavor is there... We don't have this chain where I'm from, so I'm Glad I tried this while visiting Austin. Try it!

Outside of Chick-fil-A, Cane's is another southern franchise masterpiece. I always order the Box: a four-piece chicken tender combo with one Cane's sauce, cole slaw, crinkle cut fries & a buttery Texas toast. The Cane's menu keeps it simple--tenders or a chicken sandwich. No overwhelming, complicated orders here. I love the crinkle-cut fries and chicken tenders as they're always both lightly salted, soft and fluffy in the inside with a perfect crisp on the outside. Some people may think Cane's is dry--and sure, every day is different--but most of the time? It's perfect.

I studied their website before we went as a review session and they have a section with ingredients and options for food allergies and special diets. I got there prepared and the owner was there and I found out that website hasn't been updated in about 2 years. Many things have changed, but not their website. Our go-to Meati Sandwich is no longer on the menu. But I must say I love the new place. Bold, clean, awesome. Other than that, not too much has changed; they still have a lot of mouthwatering items on the menu... and my family can only eat one burger on the menu. We're allium-free vegetarians and there's alliums in sauces and certain proteins used. Thankfully, we were speaking to one of the co-owners and he was super helpful and patient with us, even looking up ingredients and letting us double check. He is aware of the Jain diet. They also have a kids menu and we actually ordered off of one for the first time for the kids (just a simplified version of the regular burgers), We ended up ordering: MISSION BURGER ($16.95): a classic burger with 2 Impossible patties. Having said that, the patties were super thin and smooshed flat. The guys got this burger. Took out onions and subbed out the house sauce with ketchup and mustard. JR MISSION BURGER ($12.95): same as the regular with only 1 of the smooshed impossible patties. My sister and I got this. A very good burger and it's such a nostalgic feeling eating a burger (that I didn't make myself for once). The burger was perfectly filling but I could definitely also eat a regular Mission with no issues since the patties are smooshed down. KIDS' CHEESEBURGER W/ FRIES (1 with a gluten-free bun), both $11.99 so no additional cost for GF: both my kids got this with nothing added in other than cheese and the smooshed impossible patty. The saddest looking burgers BUT they ate it! The gluten-free bun is a bit... flattened, but my kid ate half of it there and finished it on the car ride out of Austin. Then asked for another one. In fact, he's still asking for another one and it's been almost 2 weeks. My other kid (picky, no allergies) likes it as well, but didn't finish and not as much as her brother. But she definitely loved the fries. SMALL FRIES ($3.50): almost every order of burgers came with a side of fries. These are perfect, stayed delicious, and were perfectly seasoned. If you are gluten-sensitive or have a wheat allergy, do know they use a shared fryer for ALL their fried items. My kid with the food allergies couldn't eat them, just to be safe. COOKIES AND CREAM MILKSHAKE ($11.95): This is made with their soft serve and regular Oreo cookies. SO GOOD. My daughter and my vegan sister got one each. Not too sweet, hit the spot perfectly. I would like to suggest they offer a gluten-free version made with GF Oreos if they can figure out how to significantly eliminate cross contamination... or just use only GF Oreos. VANILLA SOFT SERVE ($3.99): fun fact - these are lentil protein based! Got this for my kid with the food allergies (he's allergic to wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, avocado, pineapple, kiwi) who prefers real dairy and he ate almost the entire cup! It's a pretty hefty serving. I had a taste and it's pretty good. Very close to the dairy version. We were thrilled with our visit. Everything tasted great! I loved how there isn't an additional cost for a gluten free bun (it's a little wonky shaped... irregularly flattened on top). My food allergy kid asked me to make him a burger because he misses the one he got here and he specifically requested for buns with a round top so it's apparently a sore spot with him. I also love how I could actually talk to someone and make well informed decisions on what we could order... and we ordered everything we could have (aside from desserts). I'm a bit sad Mission Burger is so far away, but I guess it just means we'll have to stop by Austin when we're in Texas again. Thank you for another amazing experience!

FREE Chocolate Chip Cookie - The cookies are definitely great--no crazy standout, but they had a distinct oat flavor. I can imagine sea salt would enhance the flavor even more. I love chocolate chip, though... and FREE is the best seasoning. Mushroom Truffle - We agreed to split these burgers 50/50, and bro zoned out while eating; I got like 1/4 of it. Hopefully that emphasizes how much he enjoyed this burger. The first thing I noticed was that the patty wasn't as thick. I do like their burgers and how they're medium-rare, but this one was much more packed with mushrooms, per the burger style. If it had the B&B patty, this would've been my favorite. Hold up--I did not know this was an Impossible patty. Not bad, but it does explain the difference in flavor. Still, it paired exceptionally well with the mushrooms. Black & Blue - Very deep flavors. I didn't like it as much as the Mushroom Truffle. In fact, I felt like this was way too saucy. The blue cheese didn't hold the show as much as the rest of the burger, and I'm a sucker for blue cheese. Like, inject Penicillin straight into my soul; obsessed. Anyways, it was just okay. My BFF and I agreed that these burgers are TENDER. Like, "didn't have to chew; it was a soft slush in my mouth" tender. Anyways, the sauce on both of these was on point--the first bite was a very obvious banger of flavors. Okay. I lied; these are ALL Impossible patties. Instantly changed the game because these were very well executed. On the way out, one of the workers (perhaps the owner) asked for our feedback. Apparently, many of these burgers are new menu items, and we got to hear a bit of their backstory (and got another FREE cookie). Some of the loveliest people I've met. I really love what they're doing here, and I'm glad they moved just 15 minutes away from our location. Wishing them the best!
