I have no need for this establishment. The fries were soggy, greasy and tasteless. I had to take the yellow lettuce and the mealy tomato off my burger. It was dry. I had to put ketchup on it. It only tasted of cheep Guv-ment cheddar. The shakes tasted like any other fast food shake. The chicken burger was ok. The lettuce and tomato were horrible like the burgers. I've given up on the location closer to my house on mopac, so I decided to check out this one recently and wow, what a difference! Fries were fresh and delicious, and my chicken sandwich was prepared exactly as I ordered. My only complaint is that they are still stingy with the pickles! I don't get it. Everyone that I have talked to has said how great P. Terry's is. I have to disagree.... 1) They don't put much of anything in there burger. Its like tiny peice of lettuce, smallest slice of Tomatoe, perfect burger... NOT! 2) the patties are TINY! 3) Special sauce! What special sauce! It was non-existent! 4) these are quite literally child size burgers for adult size burger prices. If you are going to give tiny burgers at least fill it with enough vegi to make us feel like we got our moneys worth. The fries are ok but I think they are too greasy. Best damn fast food in Austin. If you want a fast food burger and freshly cut fries - you cannot go wrong. Fries are like In-N-Out, but better. Sadly, the NW ATX location is drive-thru only. The hubby and I popped through the drive through late last night for a quick bite to eat after a show. There were a few other cars in the drive through, but from order to the last window, everything went pretty smoothly. I had the chicken burger with no tomato and add pickles combo - the fries were just ok..shoestring but kind of limp and flavorless. I did, however, love my chicken burger. Ground chicken, lots of toppings, good bun. Everything was great. My husband got a burger and said he enjoyed his, but also thought the fries were lacking. I was delighted to see that they had things like banana bread, oatmeal cookies, and an interesting assortment of breakfast items on their menu... it was refreshing. So..three stars it is... I think we'll probably go back at some point to try it out again. read more

My brother and I dropped by for a quick bite around 7PM on a Saturday. There were only two cars ahead of us in line, which was shocking to me! My brother ordered a plain burger with no vegetables and I ordered a regular hamburger combo. We asked for light ice and definitely got that, so that was a plus. My burger was wonderful, with just the right amount of sauce and wonderfully crisp veggies. The meat doesn't have a distinctive taste, but it was cooked well and not as thin as it usually is. It's just about the right size for the price you pay. The fries, however, were limp and incredibly over salted. I couldn't finish more than a few before deciding to just give the rest to my brother, who just requires that his fries are warm. Had my fries been better, I would've rated this much more. If I return, I will just be getting the burger and a drink if I'm thirsty. read more

What can I say, I am a sucker for burgers, the kind that have that homemade taste and these here come close to that. This location is drive thru only. Don't get annoyed by the long line every time you go. People like it that much. The size of these burgers is just right. Not too big to where you feel uncomfortable after eating and not too small. I ordered the double burger combo. I always choose the lemonade. It is freshly made every day. Best lemonade of any fast food restaurant for sure. It is just the right amount of sour and sweet. I like the option of adding onions, pickles, jalapenos, and even bacon. There is a special sauce that adds a unique touch of flavor. This is available on the side if you prefer. It can make the burger a bit runny, keep that in mind. Friends have told me the breakfast sandwich is really good too. I will soon try that and let you all know. The part that is not always consistent in my experience are the fries. I have received some soggy ones which is a violation. However, when they are on point they are really good. The potato skins are tasty when they are fresh and have a bit of a crunch. Great place to stop by for your burger fix. read more

This location is drive-up only, which is a bit of a drag for those of us in the 'hood, but for those of you driving by on 183 this is a good thing...two drive up lanes and no walk-ups keeps things moving quickly! The only reason P.Terry's is getting 4 instead of 5 stars is because their consistency is sometimes hit and miss. But it's a small issue compared to everything that is great about it. Now I know there are other locations all around the Austin area that are awesome too, but this is for the one right off of 183 right down the road from Dunkin Donuts. Keep in mind I've tried burger places like In and Out, HopDoddy and Shake Shack but when it comes to the value you get for your money it's really hard to beat P.Terry's. They make their burgers fresh per order, you can customize them with whatever fixings you like, unlike In and Out..those guys don't even give you bacon or Jalapeño options! You may think their burgers are small but they pack a very big flavor punch that satisfies even the pickiest of burger cravings. I love their serving sizes of fries. They come wrapped in a paper baggie and most of the time they are just between crispy and soggy, which isn't a bad thing because they taste so damn good! You will find yourself scarfing them down pretty fast if you don't watch yourself. They offer your usual fountain drinks, nothing premium like Maine Root or pure cane sodas but they do make a nice lemonade though. I think they must have had new people training yesterday when I went through because the guy taking the order had a hard time getting my fairly simple #3, no cheese with an unsweet tea. I pulled up, paid and while I waited asked if he could throw away an empty cup I had. He seemed very put out/angry and said "No our policy is we can't take your trash." I'd like to suggest they get a trash can to put about window high so people can do that instead of doing what the cashier suggested, being "Park my car and walk my cup to the full sized dumpster." This while there is a line of vehicles waiting that I can't even get around and there is no place to park. Very frustrating! Then I get my food and there was no straw in the bag. Born and raised in California, I'm used to In n Out all-around. People read about it, I'm not the biggest fan. My sisters were raving about P Terry's, and I was thinking you would be a cross between in n out and white castle. Maybe the signage/building? Anyways, after a night of drinking, we ended up at P. Terry's. I did order a burger, lettuce wrapped, and had a few of my sisters rise. OK, this place was pretty darn good. Much better than in and out, especially the fries. A great place for a quick burger and fries. Get green chile on it. The fries are good, likely better than IN N Out and certainly better than any other fast food chain. They have great iced tea and lemonade too. While this isn't a high end burger joint, the burgers are very good and quick to pickup. My first experience with P. Terry's! Unfortunately not a good one. I don't believe I find anything more frustrating than thinking you can trust they get your order correct. I guess you physically need to unwrap each order completely and analyze before you pull away. We simply ordered a #1 a #2 & #3. Pretty simple. No special instructions of any sort. We received three single burger patties with a bun on each. That was it. Each burger was completely cooked beyond well done. No flavor no juices and about the size of a pickle lid. Not sure what everyone's opinion of this chain is. But I can't imagine my experience being that far off from the norm. My 10 year old daughter makes a better burger than this place. Awesome burgers and fries. The only thing I wish they would do is open the 2nd drive thru lane. There's no indoor seating so you have to drive thru. The line is always long because they rarely use the 2nd lane (I've never seen it open and have been here a bunch of times). Pros: * Good coffee, good fries, pretty good burgers, and I like the whole wheat bun option * They're not screwing around with those jalapenos -- they're plenty hot * Reasonably fast Cons: * It's exclusively a drive through and -- every time we've been here -- there have been difficulties placing and hearing back our order (they go real fast). * Their huge, red sign isn't essentially a Jupiter Jump lit with a gigantic, blinking spotlight held up by a ceramic, life-size King Kong. P-Terry's is what a hamburger should be. Simple, quality ingredients and delicious. No elaborate menus or crazy toppings. Right proportion of meat to bun. Not too big, but not too expensive either - get two or double up on the meat. Love the fries too. Went for my "lunch" today (I work the early shift) at 10:00 and got breakfast for the first time. I had an egg burger (no cheese) with ham, breakfast potatoes, and lemonade. The wait was not long at all... Only one car in front of me. And the service was just fine. I liked the sandwich, but the potatoes weren't for me... I like their fries better. Tried P. Terry's for the first time today and have to say I'm not a fan. Their menu is very simplistic, service was great, and the drive through was fast. The burgers are small (think kids burger) and the fries are like shoestring fries. Everything tasted okay and if you like In and Out, you'll probably like P. Terry's. I went there tonight and ordered two orders. Usually my service is OK. But this past time just showed how much it's changed. I went through the drive through and had 2 orders. The first order I repeated and corrected about 5X. My second order was a sprite and fry. They tell me it's $8... they then said they didn't know I said a second order, after I had corrected them twice. I then said 2 more times that the sprite and fry were just on the second order. I then roll up to the window to them confused about my orders. The first one was fine. But the second one they had added a cheeseburger in there. I told them no cheeseburger, just the fry and sprite. I had to repeat myself 4 more times. They gave me my fry and drink and of course the sprite was flat. Very unimpressed on how P. Terry's is changing. You might be growing bigger, but from my perspective you're becoming as bad as McDonalds. read more

Kind of like an In-N-Out but better. They have fresh jalapenos as a side option to put in your burgers, and the fries tastes better than In-N-Out. Super friendly staff - I had a special request for my cheeseburger, but when I received my order, it was wrong, and I had to take my order back to the store. Love this P. Terry's Location. The staff is always kind and helpful. The food is always fresh and easy to order. Really like the fact that I can order a lettuce wrapped cheese burger with or with out all the add on's of the regular burger with a bun. The entire family loves the Fresh Lemonade and the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies are to die for! The cookies are huge and only $1.00! This is a great option for fast food that is not dripping in grease and it is a good value for the dollar. The milkshakes are delicious. Honestly I don't think we have every ordered anything that we have been disappointed in and with a family of 2 adults and 3 kids that is a hard act to follow! I've had a few decent experiences here, which have always been during the day. The last two or three times have been extremely disappointing and I'll probably end up driving to a further p terry just to get better service. For example, last night there was an extremely unpleasant girl taking the orders. She had an attitude, interrupted us multiple times, made us feel annoying just for being there, wasn't listening and would repeat back the wrong thing multiple times. When we got to the window I watched her taking other people's orders and she had the same attitude for each of them. When we finally got our food, our order wasn't correct, she didn't include the sauces or even add them to the order, there were two boxes of lettuce in our bag which we both asked for no lettuce and that part was incredibly strange. Not only that, but the fries were definitely cold and had been sitting in grease for probably a good hour or so. This is the third time at this location that I have gotten stale, nasty, cold fries DRIPPING in grease and oil. My burger wasn't hot, and it was decent at the very best. Pretty awful experience and total waste of money. I would highly recommend going to another p Terry's since they're all over, and this one's service has dropped dramatically within the past couple of months. I've worked fast food before, there is no excuse for being rude to customers in a drive in, especially when all they've done is try to order. The food quality was lower than low and honestly McDonald's would even be a better choice. Really disappointing since this is right down the road from me.
