The burger was ok. The fries, not so much. I don't know why the fries at these places (In N Out for ex) are so terrible. I think the best thing about P Terry's are the shakes. The wait was also a turn off. They only had one line open and this was on a Friday night which I'm sure they should know is one of the busiest times. This one is drive thru only, so no place to sit which was fine this time. Solid fast food burger joint in the area with some rockin' lemonade. The burgers are tasty but I think I'm an In N' Out girl. But I seriously cannot knock this place because they had fast service, friendly staff and delicious fries that we ate on the way home. My girlfriend and I decided to try this out for dinner tonight and we both agreed that the prices were right although the service was not. We pulled up, and the lady who took our order seemed to be very rude, impatient, and like she just overall didn't want to be there she told us how much our order was, so while we waited to get out food we made sure we had exact change. Then when we pulled up to get out food, our total was completely different then what we were told. The man who gave us our food (Andrew) was also very rude and seemed like he was just rushing us. We asked for a lot of mayo for our fries, and he gave us each one little thing, then seemed to get distracted when we checked it. Definitely not happy with the service we got tonight. P Terry's is very simple food. They have a limited menu, and nothing too special about them. But, I'm very okay with that. The prices are great, and their burgers are never greasy. I feel satisfied after I eat here, not like I need a 5 hour nap. This location always has nice employees, I've never had a negative experience. I love this place! read more

Ok - can a fast food burger really be 5 stars? I dunno. But we frequent this P Terry's! So I'm I'm rating based on what it is... a fast food burger; and this one is one of our more favorites. I'm always impressed with how quickly they get people through the drive through (note: this location is drive through only). They've gotten our order correct EVERY SINGLE TIME, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I always get a burger on a wheat bun with pickles, onion and jalapenos. Jalapeno lovers - the jalapenos they add here are all chopped up and evenly spread over the burger perfectly; do not deny yourself this deliciousness. read more

I love me some P. Terry's!! After our first visit a number of months ago, we wised up and now only order the double. We can't be bothered with the single. I have a pet peeve when it comes to going to burger places. I hate when the cheese and veggies on your burger feel like they just got removed from the refrigerator. the cheese in my burger was cold and stiff/not melted and the other ingredients made the whole burger cold except for meat. This place is awesome. The menu is very basic, but in a good way as it means they can focus on doing what they do really well. Their burgers are good, and their fries are amaaaaaaazing. Their milkshakes are great, though I always order a black and white shake (vanilla with chocolate syrup), as double chocolate is way too much chocolate for me. Food and service was excellent tonight. They were quick to take and delivery my order and did so courteously. My fries were hot and fresh out of the fryer. My burger was juicy and had great flavor and my drink had just the right amount of ice. I have never understood the appeal of P. Terry's, which is expanding rapidly in northwest Austin. The food is ok - I would say it's a Short Stop burger with Steak n' Shake fries. Nothing particularly special about it, and the menu options are ridiculously limited. However, I will say that the restaurants look very nice, and this location is no exception. Plus they are very fast, which of course is a huge deal during rush hour. I would go here before I would go to the national chains (except for In n Out and perhaps local restaurants like Whataburger and Short Stop), but that's really all I can say about it. read more

I really liked my first experience at P. Terry's! The burger was relatively simple but it was really good. The meat and their special sauce really brought out the flavors. The fries portion is big enough for two people to share (if you would like, personally I like my own). The fries were crispy and seasoned well too. Our 1st visit. Greasy cheesey burger. Thin patty. Good flavor. 4 combos- 2 single burgers, 1 double burger, and a chicken burger for $27.00. That's about a dollar or 2 cheaper than Whataburger, but the burgers are considerably smaller. I'm not a big fan of the natural cut fries. I mean everything was good, but that's just it. I eat here fairly often as its cheap, good, and nearby. The burgers are always good, even if they go a little heavy on the lettuce sometimes. Their jalapeños are really good on a burger, too! The fries are a mood thing - sometime I love 'em and sometimes I hate 'em. They're the skinnier, more "I actually come from a potato, fried in oil" type of fries than say, McDonalds. For the price, you can't beat it. Most places charge the same price as a P. Terrys combo just for a burger. read more

So now I know why they are so cheap- $5.60 for a Cheesburger Meal. I was very disappointed when i went here for the first time. I could have gotten the same thing- BUT MUCH BIGGER- at Whataburger, Mooneys, and other burger joints. The burgers were VERY SMALL, and they tasted like something I made at home. They never cease to amaze me with thier lack of incompetency. Every time I go there they ALWAYS seem to get my order wrong, even after I ask them to repeat my order multiple times. How can you guys not get an order correct, even when asked to repeat the order at the cashier and the food pick up? Look - I don't pretend to understand this location at all, but I'm still in love with the chain. They spent some serious coin to drop a drive-thru only location near a recently failed drive-thru only Elevation Burger, oh, and dropped a zillion ton steel sign/roof/decoration over top to help you never forget it exists. Amazing burger, fries, and - hey - maybe even a shake at a ridiculously low price for what you are getting. Always clean, always fresh, always fast. They sent me coupons to replace the badly-made burger I received and the next two I bought were awesome! This site is prime, management addressed a previous issue I had and compensated for it. They quickly built their quality back up overall.

P terrys is a decent burger joint. I've tried almost every noteworthy burger place in austin. The fries here are kind of like mighty fine but they're good. The fries are kind of thin and shiveled and aren't good for take out. The burger is good but the meat to veggie ration is bad. The lettuce and tomato are huge compared to the meat so the burger may be kind of cold. I like the bacon and cheese burger because it's really juicy and good. read more

Update: SO impressed with their customer service!!!!!! Someone saw my previous review and made sure to make things right. They gave me a free meal as incentive to give it another chance, which was much better. Although the fries were still not warm, everything else was perfect! The quality of customer care has changed my opinion drastically and I have officially become a P. Terry's fan :) I moved to Austin recently and finally took the plunge to try the famous P. Terry's burger! I came during an "off" time and was the only car in line, so the following makes sense... I pulled up to the window and my food was ready immediately. I was impressed w/ the speed, until I actually tried it a few seconds later. The fries were good enough that I bet they're normally great, but these were cold and clearly had been sitting around for a long time. Then I got home to eat the cheeseburger. Overall it was good, but there was literally twice as much lettuce as there was burger, just one, thin, small tomato, and I'm not sure if they even put the sauce on it or not, even though I asked for everything. I could barely taste the beef and cheese over all the lettuce, so once I evened it out, the burger was really good. I think this place has great potential, but unfortunately, some laziness made for a lackluster meal. Not sure if I'll go back to give it another try or not. read more

I usually like P Terry's, but I have never tried this location and ordered a burger and fries after the lunch rush (2:00). Fries were limp and greasy, unlike any P/ Terry's I have had. Burger was OK. The last time I came to this location before they finally told me the veggie burger has cheese was a mess. They mixed up the orders and it took forever. Made a family outing less pleasant. The veggie burger isn't very good and it has cheese in it, which means there is nothing vegans or people who don't eat dairy and meat for other reasons can have here except fries. Very weird for such an "Austin" joint. I've lived in Austin my entire life and most of the chains and old school places I eat at have options now. Why bother offering a veggie burger that people who don't or can't eat dairy can't have? The excuses about being afraid of mix-ups are silly and the even worse excuse is that the veggie patty is so tasty that people will revolt if they switch it. I've eaten probably a hundred different veggie patties in my life and P. Terry's is unremarkable. They could nix the dairy and it would be the same or maybe better. Even if it sucked, my family would still probably eat here just because it's close by, but we haven't in years because those of us who don't eat cheese and meat don't enjoy fries as a meal. read more
