Horrible customer service! The employee who took our order apparently hates his life. For this reason, he hates his job and hates interacting with customers. We popped in during rush hour to kill some time in hopes of a more peaceful drive home. We asked if they have any kids' meals available, despite not seeing one on the menu. I really like their burgers. They're excellent even without the sauce which I never get. Service is usually pretty good. They are very friendly. The only drawback would be that the one in Kyle is never very clean. Usually the trash cans are full to the top. I eat at P. Terry and usually would give 5 stars. The French fries were somewhat warm.... Not hot. The location at 33rd and Lamar I never can get internet connection. Other P.Terry's I usually can. Went to where I ordered and asked them for password. The lady who took my order couldn't help me and what looked like the manager came up and he told me to reboot my phone which I did but knew it wouldn't help! Disappointing! As a visiting Californian, this was recommended to me by a local bartender and I'm so glad I followed through. I'd compare it to In-n-Out. Decent prices for decently made food. I did recently go vegetarian but, before that this was my favorite burger place. LOL. They are usually pretty busy but hey, just means they're good, right? I love their fries!!! Their burgers' lettuce is usually kinda soggy so I just say "no lettuce plz" but, sometimes they put it on anyways. It's fine though, still good. Not exceptionaly savory more on the bland to sweet side. No mustard apparently availabe and no seasoning on the grey meat but I'll probably visit again since it wasn't terrible and the price was excellent. The potential "Wouldn't go back" derailer was that when I tried to speak to the lane attendant he didn't respond because he had his ear buds in listening to his music. Stopped for lunch before heading into work for myself and a co-worker. Ordered 2 signature burgers, double doubles, and a cookie each. Was very clear but the clerk was struggling with the English language. Needless to say, went to work, handed out the burger, left mine for after as was too late to eat. Terry's and how beloved it was in Austin, we just had to make a stop at one of its many locations during our vacation to the city. Austin has so much to offer and P. Terry's is the fast food burger of choice, according to the experts, so we just HAD to try it for ourselves. We drove to one of the more popular locations on a Tuesday evening at around 6:30pm and there were already plenty of customers inside, but there were also still plenty of tables left. First, we loved the look of this P. Terry's, with its retro diner/restaurant decor. It really gave it a homey, local feel. As for the menu, it's simple - all natural burgers, freshly cut french fries and drinks. If you're here early enough then you'll be able to order from the breakfast menu too. I ended up with the Double w/ cheese combo ($7.60) and my wife ordered the Cheeseburger combo ($6.50), both came with fries and a drink. The verdict? Juicy, tasty burgers for sure. The fact that mine came with 2 patties and perfectly melted cheese on both, it was even juicier. The fries were good as well. We love when fries are freshly cut and you can definitely tell when they are. We ended up upgrading our drinks to a root beer float and strawberry milkshake. I can't speak for the float as I didn't get to try it, but the shake was a bit on the sweeter side. There was a sign that indicated that the milkshakes were "real", which was very vague, but it felt sweeter than your typical "real" ice cream with milk shake. The restaurant was very clean and well kept too with a parking lot on the outside. I was in this location of P Terry's today on N Lamar and there were two homeless men in the establishment. What was most shocking was one of the men had his pants pulled down at the front counter and his genitals hanging out! When I approached the counter to ask the young woman to look at this guy ....She just shrugged her shoulders. I asked to speak with a manager who came out and advised me that she has called the police several times. Poor thing tried to confront him but he would not leave until he was given food and a drink. I don't think this is going to solve the problem as they keep coming back! The other one was just sitting at a table waiting for his handout. I am sorry, but this is ridiculous and disgusting! Does the owner know that their staff is unable to deal with this problem? I don't blame the poor girl as I am sure she was frightened of these two guys because I certainly was and not very inviting to have lunch here. Unfortunately, I along with several other paying customers and their children we all walked out as a result! Definitely one of the most over hyped places in Austin and/or Houston. Starting about a week before I headed over to Midwestern part of Texas, this was in the top 5 places recommended, even hearing the elusive "it's better than in-n-out". I was definitely disappointed. The burger was a standard Costco Angus Pattie, with a standard mark up, the French fries I threw away after two bites, and the chocolate shake was standard Hershey syrup mixed in as a "chocolate drink" not as a milkshake. The place was very busy with a line around the block (at 3pm) so it seems other people do throroughly enjoy this place, I'm just not one of them. Angus beef, im assuming 80/20, meat is 2 thin patties but plenty juicy. Okay crust too. The meat needed to be saltier. It was seasoned fine otherwise, But PLEASE salt this burger. Still a good flavor bc they cook them consistently well. The bun was nothing special, fluffy but not buttered or toasted. The sauce was not strong. Barely can taste it seriously. The lettuce was a good amount, big pieces and the pickles are good. The cheese was mostly melted, and it went alright with it. This is a good burger. But it really needs one of these missing flavors to take it to the finish line.You have to add their crispy bacon, jalepenos, something stronger because the salt, the bun, and the sauce cannot carry it to the finish.
