As soon as I saw pictures of the wood fire pizzas with fresh mozzarella, I knew I had to go, and I was not disappointed. It was a beautiful day, so the garage doors were open, so it was like eating al fresco. To start, I ordered a very refreshing drink called Honey and Lemon, and my husband ordered a st. Bernardus wit beer, that was so delicious that if it wasn't for the price, I would've ordered one too. For the appetizer, we ordered Argentinian shrimp with crispy bread, which was a special that day. It was amazing, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. And for our entré we both got pizzas, I ordered the Margherita, and my husband ordered the holy trinity, they were both equally delicious. With that wood fire oven flavor, the ingredients were good quality, and the pancetta was so good that I kept stealing them from his pizza. Overall, the experience was amazing. Why would you burn that pie? We had a couple of pies and unfortunately both were burnt to a point the char flavor takes over. Not to mention carcinogens and the fact this should not be a "thing". The manager explained that they "run their oven at 800 degrees so they do get a bit of char" but as you'll see in these images it is far more than just a bit. Rest of the menu was good, but should be expanded into some entrees I believe. We got a second round of replacement pies, same char situation. My mom and I are visiting my sister who goes to Lehigh this weekend, so we made a reservation at PA House for dinner. We started with the cacio e Pepe fries which were delicious as well as the baby gem Caesar. The salad was more of a wedge in our opinion and could've been tossed in the dressing rather than just topped with it, but it still had good flavor. We shared the bee sting pizza and the special pizza of the night which was a Buffalo chicken pizza both with gluten free crust. The bee sting was definitely the favorite as the Buffalo chicken did not seem to have any cheese on it and was more of a flatbread. When I asked for more ranch on the side to dip my pizza into, the waitress told me that they couldn't do that which was weird since the Buffalo chicken pizza was topped with ranch. The gluten free crust was the best part of the pizza in our opinion as there were not enough toppings or cheese on either pizza. The ambiance was very vibey and seemed to transport us to a place that didn't quite feel like central PA. read more

First, let me tell you how nice the staff is here. I met a friend whom I had not seen in 20 years. Not realizing reservations were recommended, they told us we could sit at a high top and that we'd be good for about an hour and a half. They got super busy! But we're kind enough to let us stay until the very last minute. Great people. Now, you want to know about the business...well, service was great. Helpful and attentive. The food, whoa, also great. I got a pizza and it was amazing. Wood fired deliciousness. My friend got a burger and he said it was a very good burger. The menu seems small, but I'll definitely be back to try some other things. I really wanted this place to be more than it is. They got off to a good start and it should be a five star. But it's not unfortunately. Best thing on the menu are the cacio e pepe fries. Everything else is good but nothing in the food really wants to make you come back. It's a good place for a casual first date or meeting some fiends but it's not a regular go-to. When the garage doors are closed the noise level is high so conversation is a challenge. They have lots of staff but everyone looks harried running around and because there are so many of them it's pretty distracting, We are within walking distance and was hoping this would become our neighborhood "Cheers", but you get the feeling that the owners "don't" want to know your name. read more

Such a cool spot in Hellertown, I can't recommend it enough for a casual lunch or dinner. The pizza I've tried has been phenomenal and ingredients always fresh. Now the burrata is on a whole other level, I think it's the best the Lehigh Valley has to offer. Service has always been great, both at the bar or at a table. Just tried PA House in Hellertown and the food and drinks are amazing! I had That Pear Drink (pictured), my wife had Honey& Lemon and an Espresso Martini (also pictured). Every drink was delicious. For food we had Zucchini pizza (sorry, I forgot to take a pictures of the food!) and my daughter had the Bibb Caesar salad, and truffle fries. The service was bar none! Menus was varied enough to have something for most everyone, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice, especially considering it is a former automotive garage. A few opportunities to improve are to have entrees arrive simultaneously, and at peak quality, for all diners in a party; our three entrees arrived over a ten minute span - not ideal. Second, clear the table when all diners are finished; we had 2/3 of plates on table until just before we departed. Third, it is very noisy when busy and hard to converse so some acoustic adjustments would be nice. read more

Driving past every day watching this new restaurant while under construction, we couldn't wait for it to open. Today was our first time visiting there with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. The building was transformed into a beautiful, well decorated and laid out restaurant. The staff was fantastic, especially Sean, our server. He was very attentive to our needs and checked in on us frequently. The table ordered a variety of pizzas and salads all of which looked great and was very good. I ordered a burger and there was a mixup in my temperature which they would have rectified immediately for me if I wanted to, but choose not to. I'll try it again, next time we go. What surprised us the most was my wife's martini. It came out just the way she ordered it however the glass was very small. And then the surprise came at the price point of $14. The beers that came out were not filled up all the way to the top. Paying the premium pricing is OK as long as you get what you pay for. My recommendation is to enjoy a beverage somewhere else first. Definitely a great place to check out just be mindful of the pricing. I gave it a 3-star because it's not a good value for what you get. We don't know how food tastes like because it never served. The waiter only came back to apologize after we brought the issue to them. In reality, it should have been the manager to apologize not the waiter. As a local who lives 5 mins away from this restaurant, they will never get my business again. The crust itself is very good and the ingredients are high-quality, but the pizzas themselves have always fallen flat (in my opinion) when it comes to flavor (I have tried three different pies to give them a full chance). The pies are always under seasoned or lacking something to take it to the next level - they are disappointingly bland. Given the prices, I was expecting to be more "wowed" for a personal-sized pizza. Pizza, a drink, and a dessert each came to $50/person x 2 plus the $20 tip. A $120 pizza date night is simply not worth the repeat, in my opinion, when I enjoy the pizza that we make at home more. The desserts were also disappointing - they were fairly small and lacking cohesion. I will say that the ambience of this place is very nice, and the wait staff is always wonderful. The drinks are very good, but (justifiably) pricey. I enjoyed the coffee trailer and sitting out by the river. read more

Very good place! We came on a Saturday night with no reservations and got seated outside immediately which was nice. I got the old fashioned drink which was very tasty and one of the best I had in a while. We split the roasted cauliflower appetizer which was tasty. You could taste the grill on the cauliflower and the red sauce pulled the dish together. The cauliflower were in big chunks which was only the down side- cut it up more & add some cheese (it would be really good). But overall it was a nice refresh from greasy and fried food. My fiancé got the margarita pizza and I got the gluten free fun guy pizza- both were very flavorful and crispy. The gluten free pizza is one of the best doughs I have had. The texture is really good!!!! Just for that reason I am definitely coming back. I do wish they had red chili flakes or a little kick on the fun guy pizza but it was still good, just felt like it was missing a little heat. Definitely recommend and will be back. As a transplanted New Yorker, I've eaten in dozens of fine restaurants. My husband and I had nearly given up on finding a local restaurant that was more than just ok. Enter Pa House. This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in years. The menu is varied, with options for the vegans and the carnivores. All of our dishes were perfectly cooked with quality ingredients and were delicious. We had the burata and the caccio e Pepe fries to start. The burrata was fresh and oh so dreamy creamy, accompanied by slices of crusty bread and a side of perfectly seasoned grape tomatoes. The fries cooked crispy and tender, with that unique flavoring were substantial. Next, we shared the arugula, pear, Pom salad, where we were able to sub out the goat cheese for shaved Parm. Finally, the Artichoke and Spinach 12" pizza - the thin slightly charred crust and yet billowy edges were sublime. We were stuffed, we were happy! But wait-dessert! Limoncello cheesecake with pistachio purée (we took home) and perfectly cooked fritelli (think Zeppole) dusted with powdered sugar and served with chocolate ganache dipping sauce left us over the moon with delight. The prices with coffee, drinks, and tip fared about $150 - for us WORTH EVERY PENNY. Reservations a must. A bit noisy as it fills up. We will be back oh yessirree! read more

However, the pizza was severely undercooked and overly doughy. I had to heat it up on a pizza stone at home to make it enjoyable. We are not from the area, but pulled of local restaurants, and this one sounded good. There were four in our group, and the hostess could not accommodate us because of reservations. However, there is bar seating, so we took that option. There are only 10 seats at the bar. It is cozy, but comfortable. We each ordered some mixed cocktails. They had an expensive list to offer. Our bartender was quick and attentive, and the drinks were excellent. He reminded us of a young Leo DiCaprio. The other bartenders were attentive and nice. We ordered the cheese tray, which was really nice given that many cheese trays do not offer a decent portion. One person in our group ordered the pizza and shared with us. It was excellent. The rest of us ordered salads, which were tasty and unique. The tuna and chicken that we added on top was perfectly cooked. Wish this place were closer to us back in New Jersey but it's nice to know in case we're up in that area again. read more

I had heard mixed reviews about the PA House, so thought I'd check it out for myself. I made reservations for five and we were seated promptly and on time. Our waitperson seemed a little clueless and initially walked away until we mentioned that we wanted to order drinks. My wife and sister ordered wine and I ordered a classic martini. After about ten minutes, our drinks arrived and my wife burst out laughing at the small size of my martini. It isn't an exaggeration to say it was slightly larger than a thimble. In fact, it is the smallest martini I've ever been served at the price point. After a few minutes, our waitperson returned and took our orders. Our appetizers arrived about 15 minutes later and the beet and goat cheese salad was quite good. After we finished our appetizer, we waited for our dinner, and in fact continued to wait for 45 minutes. During this time the table next to us was seated and served. The waitperson kept ignoring us in spite of the fact that we tried to get their attention. I finally had to get up from the table and ask when we could expect our dinner. Without apology, we were told there was a backup in the kitchen which was a little suspicious since others were served and the restaurant wasn't even full. After another 10 minutes, we were served our meals. My wife and sons were happy with their pizzas (S.O.P., Margherita, and Holy Trinity) and my sister and I were pleased with the hamburger. My wife pointed out that the pizza crust was great and overall much better than described in previous reviews. She did note that while it was good, it was not as good as pizza at Molinari's (a previous place we frequented). My hamburger was cooked as ordered (medium) and quite flavorful. After we finished our meals, the waitperson brought the check, then ignored us again until we got up from the table and handed our credit card to them since we spent considerably more time there already than we expected. Given the price point and vibe, I expected better service, especially when the restaurant was not at full capacity and appeared very well-staffed. One other oddity was the owner and his family (or someone who we believe to be the owner) sat two tables away from us and he even got up and made his own drink at the bar. While I recognize he was there with his family, it was clear things weren't going well, and I am a little surprised he seemed oblivious to the issues around him. It is clear to me that the restaurant is poorly managed (or unmanaged), and I am surprised that a manager or senior staff person didn't come speak to us given our experience. We didn't make a fuss, but the waitperson clearly knew that we (and others) weren't getting good service, yet seemed unable or unwilling to address the issues. Overall, we were very disappointed with the service, but the food was very good. The atmosphere is hip and casual, and the place does have potential, but has a lot to work through to get things right, especially at the price point in Hellertown. We will visit again in a few months and see if things get better, I'll update my review after a second visit. read more

This is a terrific new addition to the Lehigh Valley restaurant scene. We had an excellent dinner. We made a reservation as others have suggested...it was, after all, Saturday night. We were seated promptly. The interior is all black and with accents of blond wood which makes it very modern and attractive. Some nice plants and well placed mirrors warm up the decor. The Pizza oven is bright red and awesome! There are garage style doors that open to the patio/parking area. I suspect it is wonderful on a summer evening. Our server, Hope, was attentive but did not intrude...just perfect and our food was served promptly. In fact, we were in and out in 45 min. Prices are reasonable...two pizzas, one glass of wine, salad and tip under $70. So...how was the food? My husband loved his margarita pizza and we both enjoyed the arugula salad with its sweet and tangy dressing. My pizza was the eggplant pizza. Crust is really nice...chewy yet pillowy. Red sauce is outstanding...just the right amount of sweetness. But the eggplant was disappointing. Chewy and just blah. Pizza could also use more of the carmelized onions too and more rosemary. So, I don't recommend that pizza. But there is plenty on the menu and I would like to come back and try more. Kudos to the owners for such a fun new place. Oh, and restrooms are all-gender and they have excellent Aesop soap products and nice paper towels. Also, restroom was very clean which is hard to do on a busy Saturday night. read more
