I think that the food is OK, however my husband got food poising and refuses to go back. Prices are a little high.

Been here a handful of times and it's been good every time. The prices represent good value for the most part. The steaks are maybe a dollar or two more than what I would expect for what I'm getting, but it's not a big deal. The chicken fried steak is a gonga deal. If you live on the far east side of Tucson (Vail pretty much), it's probably worth the drive. If you're passing through around dinner time, it's worth checking out for sure. read more

Another so-so Mexican restaurant with some American fare mixed in. Not really impressive or unique, and definitely over-priced. Again, people are crammed in elbow-to-elbow making conversations difficult. Been here twice as locals and we still can't quote a single meal or menu item we were impressed with. That says a lot right there. If it's just food we'll go fast food in a drive thru, and that's where this place should be. It's just not extraordinary by any means. We definitely do not intend to take out of state family to these routine menu operations. Not sure why this place has high reviews. That makes me feel sorry for those people tastebuds because they may have never tasted delicious food before. The fried pickles were good. Everything else was edible, and the meals were only consumed because we hadn't eaten all day due to traveling. The food actually reminds me of frozen food heated up. Went here on the recommendation of the hotel clerk after a very long day of driving. It was 8:30p and many of the local places were closed. This place is a gem. Not much to look at but friendly staff and clean. The steaks are their specialty and we were not disappointed. Cooked to order, tender and perfectly seasoned. Loved this bar. Came into town to RV for a long weekend and looked for a nice bar/restaurant within walking distance. The place is a total dive (old school decor, no flow, dark) but that's what we like. The customer service was superb. We were greeted right away at one of the high top tables at the bar and the bartender, Emily, was on point. Friendly, attentive - without being overbearing- and made amazing cocktails. Fresh baked rolls and homemade beans before our dinner were awesome! My son made himself two "bean sandwiches" and enjoyed it tremendously. BBQ boneless wings were very tasty. I don't understand the complaints about the prices. The cost of the items were reasonable. And the complimentary rolls were nice, too. To top it off, it was happy hour all day, so if you like to drink come here on Sunday. We ordered pasta dishes, and they were a little bland. traveling across country the restaurant options become extremely limited and the consistency of places becomes questionable so I always whenever try to defer to YELP. And in similar fashion the reviews were on point, the complementary beans and bread were great! We had the ribs which were average at best but the steak and sweet potato fries were awesome. If you order a salad beware the add hard boiled eggs, which is definitely not my style. Dessert was okay but definitely lacked a lot of presentation. As a returning resident to the Benson area, we were not surprised to see a new name on the building when we drove through town. Having seen mixed reviews and feeling adventurous we decided to give it a shot. My wife and I both ordered the green chili burger. I ordered soup. I was in Arizona for work and we stayed in Benson, I'm a huge fan of steak so of course this was on the top of my radar. The service was acceptable and the food was edible. That said the top sirloin had a lot more fat than is acceptable in my book and the salad had red onions which had I known about I would have asked to be left out. Hubby's 8 oz steak was very good! ($15.99) (He let me have a bite!). The ribs I ordered were fine but what my hubby calls Blue hair ribs. (**But we just left BBQ country so we are spolied!) We drove down to Benson to take our 7yo grandson to Kartchner Caverns. For dinner we drove into town, with another restaurant in mind. They were closed so we ended up at Pablo's and what a happy ending for us! From the minute we walked in till we left the experience was great. The staff was all so friendly, and the food was amazing! Our grandson ordered chicken tenders and I definitely do not think they were frozen. They were big tenders, with great breading and perfectly fried. They came with a generous portion of French fries. My husband had the Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies and everything tasted fresh and homemade. I enjoyed a delicious burger and fries. For dessert our grandson had carrot cake which was so good, and then we all shared Dutch apple pie with ice cream. Also tasty! My husband ordered two beers with his meal. So, three generous tasty meals, two beers and two desserts and our bill was about $58 before tip. Worth every penny! This is a small town restaurant with big town food. Seated and waited for 20 min before ordering. The waitress finally came and said, "oh I'm sorry I didn't know you were here". Stopped for the night in benson and asked the lady that was checking us in at the motel where a good place to eat was and she recommended this place ,needless to say we went there on her recommendations and I had the six ounce steak with the baked potato that was not baked it was micro baked! The steak was pretty tough piece of meat ,they did not have any chives ,the iced tea was good. The chicken salad that my wife ordered the chicken was rubbery and cold . Stopped in to place a carry out order two hours before they closed and they advised us they couldn't do it because they had a large table and the cook was too busy. The place wasn't even full. Well, this place needs more reviews! The complimentary bread, butter & pintos are delish. They have a great early bird menu. I got the 6oz sirloin, loaded potato & house salad with blue cheese. It's the little things that impress like red onion & hard boiled egg in the house salad with plenty of carrots & tomatoes. The steak was neat & cooked to order. The baked potato loaded was huge with bacon, cheese, sour cream & butter. I was a happy camper! My husband had the koki fish, veggies & green chili soup. The green chili soup was one of the best soups ever! He liked his meal, loved the soup. We sat in the bar as we like to watch TV and chat up the staff who were lovely and extremely willing to please. Sat down to eat, waitress offered drinks to my husband and I, and ignored my 2 yr old son. She walked away before I could order him a drink. When she came back with our 2 drinks, she left before I could again. After 10 mins of sitting there waiting for the waitress to come take our order, I decided to go up and ask for a water for him. She handed me a to go cup, no ice, no lid. I had to take my son outside to entertain him while we waited for service. Came back in 20 mins later, with no order put in. We walked up and asked how much for the drinks, and they said they were on the house because I think they finally realized their mistake. To top it all off, the lady who took or drink order, her friends came in shortly after us, and she sat them down, took their order, then sat down with them while they ate their food! We ended up going to subway, which was not much better. Disappointed, because my family is from there. But looks like I will NEVER be back to that town ever again. read more

Friendly staff. The restaurant advertised they took no reservations but they gave us reservations for a party of 10. The margaritas were excellent. The ribs were very tasty my husband's ribeye steak was ordered medium and was delicious very tender. Another friend at our table had the ribeye and ordered it medium rare, but it was way too rare for him. Another gal in our party had the chicken fajita and was not satisfied with it all she thought it was frozen chicken patty that was not very tasty it was not the fastest service so sit back enjoy your margarita read more

Had dinner here on a recent trip (January 2014) with the wife. The wife is a vegetarian when we travel, otherwise a vegan. She told the staff this and they were very helpful and accommodating. Sure I have had much better meals, but the food here was good. The best thing here were the Ranch Beans! Next time I am in Benson, I am liable to stop in just for the beans. My daughter and I had a really bad meal here. We both ordered medium-rare steaks. Hers came well-done and mine was too raw to eat. So I sent it back to have some more cooking time. It came back virtually unchanged and inedible.
