Went last night with 10 of my friends for an absolutely amazing dining experience. Mike the manager is a true gem from his recommendations, to his attention to detail, to his friendly disposition we were WOWed. Everything we ate was unbelievably delicious but the best of the best was: the Bacon appetizer, cognac shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, marinated shell steak and the pork chop. Never ate here before not my type of food but I've had multiple people rave about their Mac and cheese. My mom had to go to a meeting there tonight and I finally had her grab some for takeout to bring me. Let me say I usually hate every Mac and cheese at restaurants but this one is AMAZING! This was my second Dine-in experience during the pandemic and Paces for the most part seems to take the current condition seriously. Everyone who's ever dined in a "Dark wood" steak house knows the spacing between tables is minimized to pack the people in. Of course this would be a bad practice in today's environment. My rough calculation based on previous visits is that capacity was down to about 50%. In addition, the spacing between our four-top and an adjacent six top, about six feet, also has a plastic partition wall further disrupting potential cross contamination. The staff was all masked and they had a digital menu option to minimize sources of cross-contamination. For all of this the bar is a no-go area for me. It's too small and patrons to bellicose (like is all bars) to believe that microbes aren't free-flowing between the imbibers. I assume everyone's comfort level will be different. Now as for the food. I always go for the Ribeye steak, because it's the king of the steaks. And I've had the Ribeye at Pace's many times before and and Think i have written about a miss on the aging or cook quality here or there. But this time was spot on. A well aged steak, with great marbling cooked perfectly to order that just melted in your mouth. The Slab Bacon appetizer was also on point with it's combination of sweet and saltiness just filling your palate. I'm not sure where and my next Dine-in experience will be, but Pace's created something nice in midst of this hugely strange time. I'll remember this next time I need to "get my meat on" even post Pandemic. Which can't come soon enough!! read more

Haven't been here in like ten years and won't be back prob for another ten or maybe never. I remember this place being subpar and once again, it was subpar. Went here with my gf since insignia had a wedding going on and I was hangry... we ordered a bottle of wine, baked clams, two filets, Mac and cheese, and creamed corn. The baked clams were ginormous... almost like unappetizingly large. It tasted like stuffing? Idk... I'm about a nice, whole body clam with a crispy breadcrumb crunch.. fail... the filets that we ordered ... I was so mad but I didn't even care at this point, were completely over cooked. Who the hell wants a petit filet cooked medium well... they also tasted old? I know they pride themselves on the dry aged preparation, but the steak in general, just tasted old. The Mac and cheese had those small noodles everyone loves! But again, missing something.. like melt cheese or something On it with some breadcrumbs and bake it... creamed corn was super sweet.... idk. Not impressed at all.. Also, the place needs a facelift, it smelled like a musty basement. The music playing, I felt like someone was gonna come in and legit "wack" us, Hahahah. Just a scene and not one I plan on revisiting. Get new carpet and friggin redo the place, there are many more steakhouses competing and this place sadly is at the bottom. They did a good job with the whole Covid protocol, I felt safe and that part was fine. We had a bunch of food left over none in which we wrapped and our bill was $200. Not something I was happy about spending with the less than satisfactory meal we ate. Wait staff was attentive. read more

Amazing filet mignon & service. We rented the upstairs party room. Waiters were spot on and food was delicious as usual. It was slightly chilly upstairs so I kept my jacket on, no biggie. We had to valet park no choice that was the only downside. read more

My spouse and a friend of ours enjoyed an incredible evening out at Paces Steakhouse. The ambiance was a throw back to an 1800 city brick steak house. This fine established was packed and not an empty table in sight. Our servers Taylor and Katy were engaging, courteous and well versed with the complete menue to include wine and food pairing. Every portion of the meal from salads with house made dressings, to fresh Bluepoint Oysters to mouth watering steaks that require nothing but a knife and fork and an appetite. If you are looking for a delightful evening and a damn good steak with excellent service Pace is the spot. read more

The food it's very good here. When you are seated. You are handed a menu immediately before your butt hits the chair! If you start having a conversation with the people you are with you are interrupted until you finally order. It is a wonderful steakhouse and very highly priced but sometimes Pace's can make you feel if you are going through a drive-thru. Pac's should sliw down their Pace:) read more

We're from Chicago and eat all the best steaks all the time. Paces is right up there with many high end Chicago steakhouses. Definitely better than Gibsons. The steaks were cooked perfectly and their flavor was outstanding. Only issue we had was the oysters Rockefeller had broken shell in one oyster. The rest of the food was great. The service was outstanding and better than many Chicago steakhouses. Will definitely return when in the area and craving steaks. read more

I was really happy with my experience at Pace's. We started with the Waygu meatballs which were very tender and flavorful. I ordered the petite filet which was cooked perfectly but could have used more flavor, maybe I should have got a sauce to top it with. The Mac & cheese was excellent and so creamy. I also really loved the creamed spinach. I thought it was great that they offer a salad with meals, I have never been to a more upscale steak house that offered that without charge. Finally, we had the lava cake for dessert and it was phenomenal. Definitely will be back. The service was really great and professional as well. read more

This is an outstanding gem! I live near a famous steakhouse that has a good reputation, but I think Pace's blows it away! The steaks have more flavor and the portion size for the sides are very generous. The service was attentive and aim to please. Came here for my boyfriends birthday dinner. I was surprised to see how dressed down it was for a steakhouse. We ordered the bacon slab for appetizer-it had a smoky taste to it, it was just alright. For dinners we both got the filet mignon then split the garlic mashed potatoes, mushrooms and creamed corn for sides. I got the combo with shrimp tho and the shrimp was very flavorful-a tad salty tho. My bf was very impressed with the steak. He said it was cooked to perfection. It takes a lot to impress me with steak as I'm not much of a steak eater-I thought it was okay. We both thought the mushrooms lacked in flavor and def wouldn't get them again. The corn and mashed potatoes were awesome tho. We ordered a glass of wine with dinner but they arrived long after our dinner did so that was annoying but otherwise the service was awesome. He got the creme brûlée for dessert and said it's in the top two creme brûlée's he's ever had. read more

I wish I can give them more than 5 stars. I had my daughters 1st Birthday there. Not only did we have to postpone it because I had covid. They did it last minute with no questions asked. The Manager Michael was so amazing and helpful. The food was so good and there were so many options to choose from. Being a bartender myself I know how hard it is, to manage a bar, tables and a party. Well the bartender was so on point and the drinks were amazing. My servers were so good, that several of my guests came to me to rave about them. Just amazing service all around. They allowed me to set up early and did not rush me out. We were able to get a reservation on a Saturday night. I had the salmon stuffed with crap meat and my friend had NY shell steak and lobster tail. The atmosphere was intimate and the wait staff was very attentive to our needs. The food and drinks were well prepared and the service was excellent. The restaurant adhered to the Covid restrictions. 3 of us went for lunch yesterday.... Menu looks nice but food was mediocre. Onion soup had too much cheese, couldn't enjoy! 2 of us had the sirloin steak. Mine had to be sent back (wasnt cooked as requested). It came back burnt! The mixed veggies were dry (cooked previous day). Gross! Very good steakhouse, expensive as all steakhouses seem to be, but with large portions. Meals are meat only with sides a la carte $7 - $9 each. Sat at the bar with a few friends for some drinks and steaks. Everything was spectacular as always and the owner checked in a few times and also bought us an after dinner drink which is a great touch this day and age. Sweet potato good, sautéed spinach undercooked . I was asked how I wanted mu steak cooked I said black and blue the waiter said no problem. When I received my steak it was medium rare. I decided to eat it and not complain. The waiter came over and asked me how I liked my steak, I told him it was okay but I wanted it black and blue. He got mad at me and replied but you're eating it and I didn't see him the rest of the night. The servers were really good and polite. When we wanted our check someone else gave us the check. Went for a steak dinner the other night and had a porterhouse for two. Ordered it medium rare and it came fully rare- even raw in some pieces. I sent back a couple of pieces to be cooked through further but it came back burnt. Two pieces of the steak we had tasted so rancid my boyfriend and I had to spit it out. Pace's Steakhouse has become the Go-to Steakhouse for my Wife and I. The parking is a little tight but the Valet will park the car for you and save the troubles. DO NOT Park in the supermarket lot and walk over, they will tow the cars! Pace's has some of the best steaks at much more reasonable prices than a Blackstone's or Insignia. I personally go for the Marinated Porterhouse, it's a big steak but I don't eat it all the time, so when I do, it's the Porterhouse. My wife like the smaller steaks and will usually go for a Filet or petit Filet. I am a bit of a Baked Clam snob and really like the ones here at Paces (give them a try), dinner always starts with a nice salad and we usually order some sautéed onions and the MUST HAVE Macaroni and Cheese as sides. The portion is plenty for the two of us to share (although I would eat it all myself). The steak is always cooked perfectly to my medium rare request and my wife to medium. I like to use a little of Pace's own steak sauce, it gives a nice flavor with the sautéed onions. We don't usually have any room left for dessert, so I cannot comment on it. Pace's Steak house is a great place for people who want a high end steak dinner and a much more reasonable price. read more

I came here for a work dinner. It is beautiful inside. Valet parking which is helpful. Full bar and they even had someone playing music while we waited for everyone to arrive. We had a really good time. Peach Martinis were excellent. Bartender was very sweet. The food was also excellent. A few people had the pork chops and the few that didn't ..can't wait to come back to try them. My steak was not chewy at all and cooked perfectly. Sides were hot and had flavor. Great wine selection and knowledgeable staff. We are thinking of coming back for our Holiday work dinner soon! So I recommend this place for sure ! read more
