Taking a stroll in Pacific Beach and trying to enjoy some local flavors. This seemed like a PB staple so I figured checking this out, especially with the sign of "Home of America's Best Mocha." Here has my experience: AMBIANCE Parking: Welcome to Pacific Beach! Street parking is available, but depending on the day and time, finding a spot can be an adventure of its own. Give yourself some extra time, especially on the weekends. Do public transportation if you can. Seating: Limited seating both indoor and outdoor. Room for maybe 20 people. Vibes: Welcome to PB. What's cool is that you're a few steps away from Crystal Pier and the beach, then you got your PB things from local beach goers to some fun random events. The spot itself is nothing too flashy. It has your nice pop music playing with some photos of their drinks and their accolades. Good for a grab and go but if you need a break from the heat, this is a chill (no pun intended). FOOD/DRINKS Funky Monkey Mocha (Recommend) This was good. What's not to love - banana, peanut butter, and chocolate. Fich mocha with a nice fruity sweetness of banana and that nutty taste from the peanuts. A fun and desert like drink that gives you a good caffeine kick. CUSTOMER SERVICE Great! Down-to-earth and welcoming. The menu was overwhelming but I had helpful service. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good coffee, reasonable prices, and a fun selection that gives this little PB coffee shop its identity. Unfortunately I came at the same time a health inspector was there. The owner seemed very nice, but was preoccupied with the inspection. I ordered a 16 oz hot blondie mocha, but the iced version was prepared. I let the owner know and he apologized and made the hot version. However, it was a 12 versus the 16 oz I paid for. The coffee was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. Next time I'm in the area, I'll give the shop another try and hopefully there won't be any distractions! read more

Great spot near the beach! The coffee is excellent, and the guy was super friendly. I had a latte that was smooth and perfectly made. The cozy, laid-back atmosphere with ocean views makes it a perfect place to relax. They also have tasty pastries, muffins and bagels! Great coffee selection! They have Turkish and Vietnamese coffee which I thought was cool. They also have so many flavors for their mochas which I don't see at most places. I got the Orange Almond Mocha which was good. Not too sweet, but honestly didn't have much of a coffee taste. The orange chocolate was delicious! Coffee shop in PB. They have a variety of iced teas, matcha drinks, and of course mochas! They also have gelato and lots of desserts (cheesecake, baklava, etc.). I got the rose vanilla matcha. Pretty drink and it was pretty good! Not the strongest matcha flavor but you could definitely taste the rose. Service was very friendly! Terrible taste. I tried iced latte, and after I sipped it, as the taste was too horrible, I asked the owner to exchange it with iced coffee. It was further horrible taste again and I had to discard it into the trash box. The worst taste was likely due to 1) beans not properly stored, 2) too much water relative to the amount of coffee beans, and 3) not a fresh coffee but rather it was from a few days ago.
