I've been to Olive for breakfast many times over the last 10+ years. This was the first time I walked over to the bakery. There was plenty of outdoor seating available around 10 on a Saturday morning. I ordered coffee and cinnamon roll. If you want something a bit more grab and go, this spot is easy. It's also right by the boardwalk, I was able to walk with my coffee. There are also lots of cute gifts inside the storefront as well.

Lovely staff and baked goods We fell in love with the smell of this bakery when we stayed in the Airbnb above it

So many tasty options it's hard to decide what to get. Huge Cinnamon Rolls, kolaches, croissants....they're all good. The staff are always friendly and polite as they serve up your order. Inside there are souvenirs, honeys, jams and other neat items to purchase. Always busy but you should be able to grab a table outside to enjoy your delicious treats.

Great spot to stop on a morning stroll. They offer fresh bread, pastries, cookies, coffee, and more importantly cinnamon rolls. I tried a sausage egg cheese kolache and boy was it tasty!! I also grabbed an ice coffee with croissants and sourdough for the road!

I am absolutely OBSESSED with these kolaches. When I first tried them it was genuinely life changing. The bread is so doughy and soft and the cheese melt is perfect. I dream about these. Not to mention this bakery is in a great spot, right next to the beach. The staff is very friendly and kind too. All of their other baked goods look delicious and they have some great sourdough you can take home. I recommend their banana bread latte too.

Great location to grab a coffee, tea, or baked good while walking around the beach. I was craving banana bread and had a hard time finding some, so crazy! All of the banana bread here is Vegan & $3.50. It was delicious! I loved the big walnut pieces on the top. Would definitely be back for a slice of this and try out their coffee, the prices seem fair!

We're in Mission Bay for the weekend and were strolling by the beach. We got hungry and found this place. It was so cute with outdoor seating. We ordered the Cream Cheese everything and Ham, egg & cheese kolache plus house coffee. Everything was served to us hot and tasted yummy. The servers were patient, kind and polite. Would definitely come back here tomorrow morning!

Prices are better than comparable places, but the Italian soda I got was only okay. It tasted a little diluted. They do have small business jams and honey sold here. Conveniently located near Pacific Beach. Outdoor seating available. A little dark inside. Employee was super efficient in taking our order and getting us our drink.

5/11/2026 CHOCO CHIP…read morePISTACHIO COOKIE Wow! This was reeeeally good! It was crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. Lots of chocolate and I think they added toffee in it too. The middle section had pistachio frangipane (or it looked like it) with coarsely chopped pistachios that brought another layer of crunch! Then to top it all off, it had pistachio cream on top of the cookie! I only wish I got another one. CAPPUCCINO It was okay. But love the foam! It was frothy and foamy! PAVLOVA The meringue was a bit too hard and too sweet and the pastry cream was overwhipped. Loved the fresh fig and blueberries though. I was looking forward to eating pavlova and this was very disappointing! KOUIGN AMANN Very buttery and sticky! Crispy on the outside. Every bite was not dry, but chewy. There was this sticky and chewy texture that wasn't unpleasant, yet it wasn't fully flaky like a croissant. But glad it was not dry! The kouign amann was not as tall like others I've tried, but I preferred it this way because it was not dry. The last kouign amann I had from Bread Lounge was dryyyy. But bought mine at a coffee shop too. PAIN AU CHOCOLAT Crispy on the outside, but I must have toasted a bit more, so the outside was a bit more toasted than desired. Inside was good. Good dark chocolate. BUTTER CROISSANT Really buttery, flaky, crispy! Ate it next day, so reheated it in the toaster oven to bring a more crispness all around. Really enjoyed this! Adding butter and jam is so good! LEMON MERINGUE Meringue had a strong eggy smell and flavor, the lemon was tangy, but not enough to rid of the eggy smell and flavor. The tart was hard and almost stale. I took a few bites and threw the rest out. PAIN SUISSE Chocolate flavor. Crispy on the outside, fluffy like a light spongy cake inside. Enjoyed this! CUSTOMER SERVICE Got there early afternoon. There was only one person in front of me. Good service overall. Quick service. Hits and misses of the various pastries I've tried. It will not deter me from trying their pastries though, as the really good ones were really good! Would love to return! Especially for that Choco Chip Pistachio Cookie! This is such a cute shop with inside and outside seating. There is a small amount of seating near the windows but more outside around the back. Went on the holiday weekend and it took about 40 minutes to get through the line (started outside on sidewalk) to get my drink and cake slice. My favorite thing here is the lotus biscoff cheesecake $12. Their biscoff matcha is just okay. Note, they charge $7 for their matcha and then charge additional for biscoff, milk preference and foam. The orange blossom latte is good but very sweet. Their drinks run on the sweet side. Be sure to ask for half sweet if needed. I saw so many people ask for their drinks to be remade because it was too sweet and it really impacted the workers. I have tried some other desserts but just wasn't a fan. Before driving over, I even called the store to make sure they had it. To my surprise, someone actually answered, confirmed they had one slice left, and even offered to hold it for me. My mood instantly changed. After the day I'd had, I was genuinely excited and headed there immediately. I arrived less than 10 minutes later, only to be told they didn't have it after all. To make matters worse, they claimed they don't even hold desserts for customers. It wasn't just disappointing--it was incredibly frustrating. If they couldn't hold it, I would have understood. But giving me false hope and having me rush over for nothing completely ruined the experience. What was supposed to be a small bright spot in my day turned into an even bigger disappointment. Unfortunately, this experience has left such a bad impression that I won't be returning. There are plenty of other bakeries in the area, and I'll be looking forward to trying those instead.
