Oh man never expected such a lovely find on the westside. I had low expectations on my walk over, but upon stepping inside and seeing how much time they put into everything they cook, I was excited. I got the clasico with extra veggies. You do need the salsa to spice it up and they offered us a mild salsa and a spicier one. I went with the more mild one which handed a perfect tiny kick and some extra punch per bite. It was all so delicious; I wanted to hold off reviewing till I could try a few more items, but I'm not in the area enough for that hahaha. But 100% give this place a try! This is a little place and I think most get pick up or delivery, but they have a few tables and we like to eat there and just watch the fun. You order at the counter and pick up. The place is kept so clean and it is adorable inside. The service is great. They are bi lingual and that is nice. Erica is so nice to us whenever we go. They have great Mexican food. Our favorite is their tamales. They have super spicy ones and more bland ones. I like the blander ones. You must try a chicken one and one with pork inside. You will be in heaven. We always order a bunch to take home. They heat up so nicely. They also have great tacos, rice and beans and great burritos. Their soft shell tacos are the bomb. I got a tlayuda mixta it was so big like for 3 people and my boyfriend got the quesibirria tacos with consomé the order comes with three very well portioned tacos and there consomé was so flavorful we both got a Coke to drink not very much choices for drinks but there customer service was great and so were the prices we only paid like $47 for everything. Bad part is there's no bathrooms and there spot is super small! But you can take it to go and go to the beach like 3 blocks away. Over all we loved it. read more

Got take out from SaMo's Oaxaca. The interior is nicely decorated. We ordered there and it took about 10 minutes to cook. Fast service and prices were reasonable. Veggie Burrito - Really appreciated all of the veggies inside! Usually restaurants will just make a normal burrito without the meat, but they included bell peppers and zucchinis inside. Very flavorful too with a good amount of rice (I love Mexican rice!) Chips and Guac - We got the large. It was sort of pricey at just shy of 10 bucks but then we saw the container. It was well worth it! There was so much guac we had to break out our own bag of chips. Not a complaint at all! Theres a shared parking lot right out front. It was busy but we were able to snag a spot. Really enjoyed this place. Will definitely be coming back! read more

This is an amazing little restaurant hidden in plain sight. The staff was very friendly and the seating area, though small, was very clean. Of course the best part is the food. My nachos were absolutely incredible. Everything that I saw come out of the kitchen looked amazing too, and everything was priced very reasonably. Located in a very small corner strip mall, is a hidden gem with delicious food. There were many menu items I wanted to order but my honey and I settled on 3 for our first visit. We got the chilaquiles with red sauce. It came with 2 eggs(we chose scrambled), choice of protein( we got carne asada) and beans. Delicious! I'm vegan and I asked the chef if he could make me a "tlayuda" with no meat and no cheese, and he did! It had grilled veggies, black beans and avocado...so delicious! I also asked for a side of their famous "mole" and it was absolutely amazing!! My friend ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and my husband ordered the regular tlayuda with meat and Oaxacan cheese. I also had a drink made with "maracuyá" (passion fruit), also delicious!! It's a small place, super clean, friendly staff! The one drawback is that there is NO restroom! read more

SaMo's was a good option after heading home from the beach. They're open late (by Santa Monica standards - 8 pm on a Sunday!) and were able to serve us right before closing. I got the 3 enchiladas plate - I enjoyed my cheese enchiladas with green sauce but wish I'd been able to mix and match (I.e. one veggie enchilada, having both red and green sauce). This is hands down the best Mexican food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The food alone was absolutely delicious. Every bite I took I felt like I was being lifted into the clouds. The Oaxacan burrito and enchiladas oaxaqueñas ended up being more than enough food for the three of us. Flavor was good, and we really enjoyed the mole, although the chicken was slightly on the dry side. The menu was clear and easily readable, and the workers were SO friendly and helpful when ordering and while eating. The food was absolutely delicious, everyone I ate with was completely satisfied with their meals. I ordered the birria queso taco, which comes with the consommé on the side which was all mouth wateringly delicious and exploding with flavors.
