I'm so glad my sister suggested we get cocktails during her afternoon visit because it led us to this spot. What a cool spot to hang out in the afternoon! They have wonderful seating. A spot to hang out with your bestie or group, indoors or out. The sun was a tad wicked in the afternoon so bring your sunglasses and spf! The cocktails were fun and so many to choose from. The Strand was my favorite gin cocktail (pictured in a wine glass). The food menu was nice and each dish we received was tasty yet had a bit of comments of improvement from each of us of how it could be better. For example, our cauliflower tacos could've used more cauliflower and I noticed a difference in my photo compared to previously posted photos. The distillery fries cheese is really good, but we would've liked less cheese so we can enjoy the dish without it being so heavy. The pickle fries and distillery fries were also saltier than plates normally are these days (guests sometimes prefer to add salt to their liking). Our time here was perfectly set with the live music. As a native San Diegan, I can assure you that Oceanside never had a restaurant that looked this charming or had food and drinks this good back in the day. No way, no how. The times have changed. The interior is gorgeous and they've got a large outdoor patio, too, with a cornhole set available. The food was terrific. We tried the distillery fries which come with avocado, chorizo, cheese and a fried egg on top. But the star was the fries which are incredibly crisp and well-seasoned. Seriously, the fries alone may be the best I've ever tasted. The mahi mahi tacos were good, too. Lots of flavor and very fresh ingredients. They've also got a kids' menu and the sliders (you get two) were terrific. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the bun was high quality. The sliders come with those excellent fries, too. Of course, you're probably here for the cocktails or their housemade alcohols. I tried the Skeleton Kru which is made with rye. It's on the sweeter side but was delicious. They also offer four interesting mocktails on the menu which I found very thoughtful. This is a very restaurant that Oceanside is lucky to have. read more

The Mill Room took over the Pacific Spirits and unfortunately took off many awesome things off the menu including the pork bites. This was one of my go-to places and now its menu is so scaled down. They also had a lot of gluten free options and now they don't. I can only hope that this renovation is an upgrade instead of sanitizing the menu even further. read more

The food was amazing for the price. You get a lot for what you pay for. The drinks were delicious and you could tell they really were made in house. We sat right next to the live music and it was a pleasure to watch him entertain the nearby tables on a one-on-one level. We were there late and when we finished our meal it was technically after closing but the kitchen was so nice and made me a bread pudding to go so I wouldn't miss out on dessert or have to feel bad for keeping them waiting I apologize for not taking note of the name of our server (I feel like her name was Taylor?) but she really helped us with picking out our drinks since we don't go to places like this often. We've got to stop giving everything 5 stars, or, just own the fact that we randomly find awesome places Anyway, we were on our way to somewhere else when we passed Pacific Coast Sprits and Kitchen. There was a small craft fair happening in the parking lot there and across the street so parking was an issue. You can park in the neighborhoods to the west, though. We were told it would be a 20 min wait but it was more like 10 min. Once inside our waitress was VERY good. She really seemed like she enjoyed the place and was very knowledgeable about the cocktails and drinks. We started with some of the best pretzel bites we've ever had, a whisky/bourbon flight, and a craft cocktail flight. We didn't really like the whiskey's. Too much rye for us. The bourbon's were pretty good though. The craft cocktails were pretty good though. The mac and cheese with pork bellies was awesome. Almost a little TOO cheesy, if that's a thing. I've had ones with pork that were too salty. Not the case with this one. The chicken sandwich with fries was awesome as well. Had a little honey on it and serano chili spread. It was very tasty. Overall, we loved it. We're only in Oceanside a week and I think we'll be back. We don't often go to the same place twice. It was that good! read more

The guava glow cocktail was so good! It helped make up for my dislike of the pork belly bites. For the price ($18+ tax & tip), the pork belly bites are not worth trying. The pork belly was also quite salty but the slaw that accompanied the bites were good. The burrata plate - simple and flavorful, was amazing. There was just enough bread to enjoy all the burrata. We have been dying to try something new during COVID-19. I was running next door for something and noticed the patio was open for business and nicely spread out. So we decided to try Pacific Coast Spirits. You can take a seat and order hands free/person free at your picnic table by scanning a barcode, this really makes things simple. Then the food and beverages are brought out to you in an enclosed container, after the drinks of course, picnic style. Pacific Coast Spirits makes a variety of alcohols and I wanted to try their whiskey tea. It was so smooth, I say purchase your alcohol from a solid local distillery and for mixing this was the absolute smoothest whiskey I've ever had. The menu only offers a few options. My husband and I both went with the Fried Chicken Sandwich. I had to pair wisely with my whiskey after all! WOW, the sandwich with a side of fries were the best I've had in San Diego. I'm sure I would get the same thing again! I love craft distilleries! We came during the first lift of shelter in place so we couldn't dine in. They were setting up some picnic benches and flowers in the parking lot. We had to order at the front and sit outside, they didn't allow anyone inside. I got gin and tonic and I'm a fan. It tasted good. Their other drink was too sweet, forgot what it was. The guy let us try their whiskey. Hopefully next time hopefully we can get the experience inside! read more

**This review is not about the distillery itself but for the speakeasy that PCS hosted throughout October** I was excited to see how the speakeasy was set up in the corn maze, and went on one of the last weekends they were hosting. The password hints on social media were creative and an interactive way for customers to engage in the event. 1/2 proceeds went to Kids for Peace charity that night, so it was nice to know our payment helped contribute there as well. There was a $5 entry fee for the grounds itself, then the drinks provided were $12 for draft cocktails and $14 for stirred (old fashioned, manhattan, negroni), but they were served in small plastic cups. We ordered one of each stirred cocktail, all of which were strong, but to the point where the old fashioned and manhattan tasted as if we ordered the same drink. Over time it felt like I ordered the whiskey neat. Maybe it wasn't stirred very well, but any additional garnishes (orange peels, cherry, etc) felt like it was just there as some decor instead of additional flavor. To the bartender's credit, there were only two on staff from the time I was there, and the lines were very long and didn't really end. Service was very nice and quick. The draft cocktail (fall back) had a great cinammon aftertaste and was reminiscent of juice. I hope to visit the distillery and get another shot at the drinks in-house, but it was an experience I wouldn't really go to each year. read more

Let me start by saying the drinks here are fantastic. This place distills quality spirits and uses them to craft exceptional cocktails. I ordered a pisco sour and was very pleased. I will definitely come back to order drinks again. (Only drinks!) That said, the food was nowhere near the quality of the drinks; in fact the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a salad, which sounded great on the menu but was poorly executed. The chicken was incredibly dry and fried to the point of being burned. The bun was average. The salad was lackluster. Even though I plan to return for the great cocktails I will not be trying any more of the food. It's really only the quality spirits that were able to still earn this place four stars in my book. read more

Pacific Coast Spirits ain't half bad. They have great specials (like $2 taco tuesdays, 3-6pm HH, and Wednesday $20 smash burger and a beer 11-4). We've been a a couple of times, but decided a Wednesday lunch was in the cards today. We sat at the bar and our server was great (didn't get her name, short blonde hair, tattoos). Everything was great (but albeit could use some extra seasoning), we were in and out, and had a great time. We hosted a 175 person buyout at Pacific Coast Spirits recently and it was sheer PERFECTION! Lucia is a dream to work with. Once on-site, her team was professional, efficient, and tended to our guests every need. The ambiance is great, and the food even better. We had a few guests do whiskey tastings and they loved that experience. The quality of ALL of their spirits is top shelf! Love that they are locally made-and you can even tour the back area where they barrel all of the different varieties of what the produce. This was the best food I have had in a while! The poke was amazingly fresh, the Brussels sprouts were so delicious and the brisket was so tender and the sauce was perfection! I'm picky with BBQ but this was ! The Hocus Pocus cocktail was delicious and just right for spooky season. The inside of the restaurant was inviting and open with great music and cute seating choices. Food was fast (not too many people). Service was super slow as far as getting a straw or the receipt but it seems to go with the laid back vibe. Fun fact: they do have a jar of cotton balls in the women's restroom and no one seemed to know why lol. I've never had the reason to need a cotton ball in the restroom but if you ever need one they are there for you lol. read more

Came to Pacific Coast for dinner. Overall ambiance was fine but food was not great nor were sizes worth the price. More detail- We were surprised there were only a few tables on a Friday night. We ordered blackened mahi tacos, the Baja tacos and brisket. When the Mahi tacos arrived I was unpleasantly surprised as the fish was the size of my pinky finger. I had to wave the server down and ask for a few things and asked if that was a normal sized piece of fish. She looked at it bewildered and said no and would get a new piece. One extra taco arrived shortly later. None of the food was great and were not served any water. Overall the ambiance was nice but we would not return. We joked that we knew why nobody was there. Maybe we came on the wrong night or ordered the wrong items but will not return to find out. read more

The food arrived before the cocktails, surprisingly! The tacos were so good, and the chicken sandwich was spicy and tasty. The cocktails were yummy too - the Farmerita was a bit strange even though my date likes carrot drinks. And turns out my date got mild food poisoning from something in his meal - we aren't sure what exactly, but based on the timing it was definitely that. We decided to check this plate out for lunch after reading an article in a local magazine. We sat outside which had a nice atmosphere with picnic tables and umbrellas. There is, also a couple games set up. We ordered a couple of the cocktails and unlike a previous review said we were able to have them outside. I had the Spicy Prickly Margarita which was good and definitely had a little kick to it. My husband had the Oaxacan Anticuado which was recommended by the server. At first, he didn't like it but then halfway through realized he just needed to stir it! For food we ordered the Distillery Fries and Blackened Mahi Tacos. The food was not impressive at all. The fries were extremely salty, and the tacos had a tiny piece of fish. I think the atmosphere is a good place to stop and have cocktails, but I would skip the food. read more

This place has sooooo much potential but misses the mark in a few places. We went for happy hour on a Thursday evening. Should've been packed as it was beautiful out, but the place only had one other table. There's a full bar, good enough music, and it's decorated well, so why not people?? Well the food is average (at least the happy hour food) wings were good, poke nachos also good, but nothing memorable just solid. Prices on happy hour are great for what you get. Drinks though-- another place with pre-batches cocktails--- ewww They are never good. Overwhelmingly sweet and falling flat of charisma. My son had the Pastrami Sando with salad which he described as very good. Hubby had Chimichurri Steak Sando with fries. He requested rare steak and was delighted with how it was cooked.
