I really like Dr Torres, very professional. But please use common sense when using a out of country dentist. I checked with my local dentist first so he was on board with me getting my crowns elsewhere. The work Dr Torres performed was great. The cleanings are not as deep and extensive as my local dentist. So I suggest not making the office your only dentist. I will return if I need more crowns. read more

I can't recommend this dental office highly enough! I've worked with both of the main dentists there, and while their style is very different each is extremely gifted in dentistry. They have excellent training and attend to the quality of their work way beyond anything I've experienced in the states, and for a fraction of the price. They're English and the receptionist English is impeccable and although the office is No Frills, it has every modern Appliance and provides great emotional support . This review is for Dr Torres but I would be remiss if I didn't mention that every person in the office from the receptionist to the nurses and two other doctors are absolutely wonderful. I have been having my teeth taken care of in TJ for approximately 20 years and when my previous dentist started talking about retirement around 8 years ago I starting looking for another dentist and with much research found Dr Torres. I have had pretty major dental work along the way with Dr Torres with these latest visits involving eight teeth. I've even had teeth cleanings and one experience that we could call an emergency. It's pretty serious when your body thinks your teeth roots are foreign and decides to destroy them. I trust, respect and find Dr Torres a brilliant dentist who takes everything into consideration from your health to cosmetically and how wonderful you'll look. I went to Pacific dental yesterday for the first time and wow , everything my wife has been saying after seeing Dr. Natan Lutz for the past couple years is exactly as she said ! The new office is so beautiful, only less than a year old and everything is so clean and high-tech. I just can't say enough about the pleasant staff and the doctor himself, absolutely the best experience I have ever had at a dentist ! Nothing was rushed, he spent a few minutes up front to speak with you once you sat in the chair, took a panoramic X-ray and pictures which compared to the old way where they put you in a room with a lead vest, it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. He went back to his office, spent a couple minutes and came back to display everything on a 40" monitor hanging from the ceiling along with a quote for services before he got started. No pain what so ever and he was so meticulous in the way he worked explaining what he was doing throughout the process. I cannot speak more highly about my experience, if there were 10 stars on yelp, I'd give them. Lastly, we parked in San Ysidro and took a shuttle service across the border, dropped off at the front door of this beautiful modern high rise glass building, totally safe and absolutely changed my impressions of TJ after not visiting for several years !! read more

It's not hard to believe that few people have reviewed this place. I saw Dr. Torres a few years ago and he did a root canal and cracked the root. The tooth soon died, as well as the bone around it. I had too go to another dentist to get a lot more work done for a lot more money such as: Bone graft, extraction, surgical implant, and an expensive crown as it was my front lateral incisor, this cost me a fortune. When I discussed it with Dr. Torres, he stated he would refund me the money for the extraction ($60) I was furious, but accepted the tiny refund. But every time I went to TJ I would ask for the refund and the Dr. or the staff would make up some story why they don't have any money on them or nobody is there to write a check etc. After about 6 months I gave up and wrote a review on line, the Dr responded immediately and told me to remove it and to come get my money. Again I went to get the money and again the runaround. So I left the review and then the Dr. threatened me and told me people would hurt me. At that I said keep the $60 and I am happy to tell story. I had made an appointment for cleaning and exam. When I called to confirm, I was told that a two-hour slot had been reserved for me. That was worrisome. They wouldn't give me a quote over the phone. Both have done excellent work on me through the years with root canals, extractions, bridges and fillings. I'm especially impressed with their on-site laboratory and their up-to-date technology. I searched on the internet for 4 months looking for a dentist in Tijuana, that I could trust with my teeth. After reading the reviews here from Marilou; Claudia; and Cynthia, I decided on PACIFIC DENTAL CLINIC. Boy, I am so glad that I took their advise. With confidence, I packed my bag and flew to San Diego. My first visit with Dr. Nathan Lutz was on a Monday. He did an exam and reviewed the 2 dental plans that I had brought with me, from my 2 dentists here in Spokane, Washington. He listened to all my concerns. (During the past year I had lost 4 molars and I was tired of chewing all my food like a chipmunk). But, much more than that, he interacted with me as a professional. With his advise and vast knowledge of what would be best; with a total exchange of ideas, WE decided on the best dental plan moving forward. He immediately got to work. That day I had a crown removed; decay removed and build up; a temporary crown installed; a mold made for my permanent crown; and deep cleaning of 3 teeth in that quadrant; and, he filled 3 (of my 7) cavities. I used the free van service to go back to my room at the Best Western Americana Inn in San Ysidro; and, walked across the parking lot to Coco's to have dinner. No pain, didn't even need an aspirin. The next day, the last van to Tijuana leaves at 9 am. But, unfortunately my appointment was not until 2:30. That's when my permanent crown would be ready. So, (after another poster's advise) I walked up the street to La Fogata restaurant for breakfast. WOW, they really do serve the greatest breakfast! But, brush up on your Spanish. Many of the wait staff do not speak English. Having trouble with this one word, the waitress literally brought me a piece of bacon. :) And, if you are a smoker like me, the beautiful patio opens at 11 am. You can even have a bloody Mary. Also, going nuts trying to figure out how many paco's = $1? Don't worry, your bill will have both paco's and USD. After several hours of Sudoku, I walked the 1 block back up to my dental appointment. Tues. was a busy day. I had upper right and lower right quadrants numbed. I had 4 cavities filled; both upper and lower right quadrants deep cleaned; my permanent crown installed; complete x-rays taken for bite placement and bone location for my partial dentures; impressions made for my partials; and complete scaling and polishing of my whole mouth. With my pearly whites, (well, as I said...I'm a smoker, so their were more like pearly off-whites) I went back to Coco's for dinner. (Aspirin? Aspirin, we don't need no stinking aspirin, lol). And besides, Coco's makes heavenly pies! Thursday was the big day. I went in for my upper and lower partials. The fit is spot on. I was told that I could use denture creme if they get loose. No need to, they fit like a glove. Although they do have more "gum" line/area than I'm used to. It is hard getting used to a new "appliance" in your mouth. I never thought of that. But, I am totally happy with them. With the partials, Dr. Lutz replaced 5 missing teeth on the top partial; and, 4 missing teeth on the bottom. Sure, you go outside the U.S. to save money, I get it. But, that's not the reason I chose Dr. Lutz. At least, that's not the only reason. I have refused to have a "deep cleaning" here at home, because the last time they did that 15 years ago I vomited blood when I got home; and, my gums hurt for 3 days. Last time I had 2 teeth pulled here at home, (last May) the dentist refused to take out the stitches for 5 weeks. I finally had to go to another dentist to pull out the infected stitches; and, he put me on antibiotics and steroids to reduce the swelling. I looked like I had a golf ball in my cheek. I went to PACIFIC DENTAL CLINIC to get quality dental work. And, that is exactly what Dr. Lutz gave me! They have their own lab. The work is fast and professional. They are all licensed in the U.S. and in Mexico. They use the same sanitation procedures as you would get in the States. I had my whole mouth done and it only took 3 visits over a span of 4 days. The cost? Yea, of course it's a factor. I saved 75% on my first dentist bid (like I'd ever go back to him ever, even again, even if it were free!); and, over 60% on my second dentists bid. I went to Pacific Dental in September for a complete set of dentures. I had an appointment on Wednesday, back the next day at 1100am, and my new composite dentures were done at 430 the same day . The dentist was kind, gentle, and skilled. Price was great (1/4) of bad set I had previously from Western dental. Recommended them to my brother who will go soon. I've had extensive dental work here. What really sold me on this place is Dr. Torres background. My understanding is that his dad owns the connected dental lab for many years which Dr. Torres grew up working in so he has a solid understanding of dental lab work and the mechanics of the teeth, bite, and the ins and outs of fabricating crowns etc. I believe Torres went to USC to become a dentist and is highly trained. Dr Torres was recommended to me by a friend. I have been going to Pacific Dental for several years now and done 2 root canals, 3 crowns and I have been very happy with the work done. The staff is excellent and very responsive to emails. Dr Torres is very professional, highly qualified, conservative in his treatments and is very good communicating what he is doing next during all procedures. Their equipment is excellent and better than my former dentist here in San Diego. He can take X-rays, put it on a flat screen TV within minute and explain the procedure in front of you. I really don't like giving a 3 star because the dentist here are very well educated and are experts in periodontal gum disease and can do the laser and bone grafts needed. I was told by my dentist in Murrieta that I need bone graphs and surgery but two different dentist including this one said I did not need bone graphs! I only give it a 3 star because they were a little more pricey then Washington dental in Tijuana but Washington Tijuana does not have the expertise these dentist have they graduated Harvard and went to loma linda dental as well so my review is not based on them personally but the office location which had no parking had to park down the street at mcdonalds and the office looks like a dive! My daughter in law when first going up to the office did not want to go as she was horrified and scared (lol) she needed extensive dental work but pacific dental were almost double of what Washington dental was charging and it was an extremely nice office. I did have a few fillings done here and am happy with the work but again it was double of what I paid at Washington dental. This office also has its own lab that does the dental stuff right across the way from their office as well. read more

Dr Torres, Dr Lutz and Dr Romero have all worked on my teeth and I could not be more pleased. I am 68 years old and I recently had an implant completed and it came out perfect. I drive from Santa Barbara to Tijuana to have all my dental work done and have been going to Pacific Dental 14 years. I will not see anyone else because unlike the Dentists I have seen in the states where there was always a problem with my bite, or caps falling off, Dr Torres fixed my mouth, and for this, I am forever grateful. Dr. Torres was fantastic, He did 10 crowns and they look wonderful I have had them for about 1 year with no problems. Dr. Torres was very caring, conscious, and knowledgeable and took great care to make sure I was in no pain. The teeth are beautiful it is a dream come true being able to smile again, I flew all the way from Boston and it was well worth the trip the price at home was over $20,000, Dr. Torres did it for $6000. We have had the most excellent experience getting crowns, root canals, implants, bondings, deep cleanings, fillings and more. Dr. Lutz is the most gentle and skilled dentist we've ever known and takes his time to explain in detail what needs to be done prior to and throughout each procedure. His caring manner sets you at ease. Pacific Dental's equipment is state of the art and their prices are a fraction of the cost of the same services in the US. We park our car in one of the many parking lots in San Ysidro and walk across the border where you will immediately find taxis. It's only a 5 minute ride and costs between $5 - $10. Crossing back to the States is hassle free, although the wait times differ depending on the day and time. Definitely worth the visit! I just came back yesterday from my extensive dental work (2 mornings, 3 hours each) after being treated by Dr. Torres and I am praising the truly excellent service I received. This was my first time I have ever sought dental care outside of the US and I admit, I was nervous. My US dentist had quoted me $20,000 for everything, whereas Dr. Torres charged me low $5,000 for the same--and more. He and his staff are polite, gracious and fluent in English. He was very, very gentle--I experienced no discomfort at all. Staff arranged for a hotel reservation for me and his go-to friendly taxi driver even walked into the hotel with to ensure I had the reservation as promised. I also received a hotel discount, per his dental office referral. His office is located in an older building, but his dental equipment and services are all A+++. I'm returning in two weeks to have my new crowns put in. All in all, I am a very, very happy consumer and will continue to have Dr. Torres as my dentist as long as I can stand the long wait walk-through line back into the US. Recently I was told by 2 different San Diego dentists that I needed a root canal and crown. The cost was more than triple what I had paid for 15 years earlier for the same needs. After much research I chose to go to Dr Torres in Tijuana. WOW, what a find! I told him what the 2 other dentists had said. He said he'd like to get x-rays and then decide. Using digital imagery of the affected tooth he said he was more conservative than some dentists and he recommended doing the crown but hold off on the root canal until it became more apparent that it's needed. There is a chance it may need one but there was enough tissue that we should do the crown and only then do the root canal if warranted. Well I've had a root canal before so who am I to argue. After getting the crown put on this last week I'm thrilled. There is and was no pain indicating no need for a root canal. Also I saved a lot more money that I would have in the states. Throughout the whole procedure I noticed Dr. Torres professional techniques led me to tell him he was the best dentist I've ever been to.
