Delicious food! A Pedro institution. You'd in for a wait at breakfast but well worth the wait. Local fishing town vibe. Great friendly service! Went during off hours before closing and not crowded. We're so hungry forgot to get shots of food. Trust me - delicious! The fish sandwich amazing. Subbed fries for the homemade potato salad -delish!! The bowl of chili topped with cheese and onions so good. 2 blocks down from a beautiful Pacific coast overlook. Been going here for decades! Check it out it's a classic!!

My order. There's a 3% surcharge for using a credit card.

Got the Bacon "N" 2 Eggs with coffee. Everything was good. The bacon was crispy. The home potatoes tasted like they were cooked with butter. The coffee was a nice mild roast. There is seating both inside and in the patio area. Inside has a counter and two booths. I took a quick look at the patio area and it looked spacious. There is parking available. I went on a Saturday after 09:00 and there were approximately 4 parking spaces available. Service was very friendly and prompt. I think it only took about 5 minutes to receive my breakfast. There's also a 3% surcharge for using a credit card.

Pacific Diner brought back some memories of some old school diners like I grew up with in New Jersey, maybe with a little bit of a California beach vibe added in. There were some regulars sitting at the counter and a menu with drawings and puns made to look like a newspaper. We were in the neighborhood because we had stayed overnight at a hotel a few doors down before a cruise. We wanted a good breakfast, because you never know if they're going to have enough food on those cruise ships (I'm joking!) I was excited to try the chili verde omelette and my husband got the steak bits and eggs. Both were delicious and we also loved the biscuits! I also appreciated that my home fries were crispy and brown - I hate when you get barely-cooked-potatoes that are supposed to be home fries! Our meal was tasty, the coffee kept coming, and our server was friendly and efficient. If I was a local, I'd be here all the time.

When you're craving brunch and you're in the area, swing by. The menu is pretty expansive. I had a hard time choosing. Luckily when I'm in a group I can sample a bunch of stuff from others. The crab omelette, machada, and beef stroganoff omelet are fire! Great waffles too. Good coffee and plenty of seats. Service is great too.

A great neighborhood diner up on the hill in San Pedro. We came for breakfast around 10 am on a Sunday morning and expected a wait. No wait for a table of 2. Awesome! After reading the many options, I chose the crab avocado omelette -- hey, we're by the water. It was huge, loaded with crab and avocado and topped with a tasty hollandaise. The potatoes alongside were crispy and plentiful. And they even made my toast cinnamon toast! That was unexpected and super tasty. Brewed iced tea, too (not that nasty fountain stuff). And there's even parking. What else could you ask for?

Still great after all these years. Marinated Steak Bits and Eggs are the best thing on the menu. Don't forget to check the Daily Specials Board. Omelettes are awesome; especially the crab omelette and some of the specials. Get the house Pico de Gallo, even if you only have potatoes and eggs to put it on.

Not because it was featured on a news segment, or something similar, but because I saw it on an episode of Monk. It was used as a background prop. Funny what writing helps you remember, and hopefully what you remember is good stuff. Before I stepped into this bar, I expected it to be a Diver bar, in the grittiest sense, but I was wrong, it is a Dive bar in the most exciting of ways: It is a collection of tchotchkes (a fancy word for trinkets) that when admired as a whole and then independently give this place a whimsical personality. Imagine having a friend that when invited to a pool party wears a bikini with a fun print--- like cherries or flamingos, and is always down for a shot and playful mayhem. Being around this type of personality amps up the party soul of a moment because their vibe is that of a buzz-nurturer. Meaning that when I was in the bar, and all it has to offer, made me want to have a good time, regardless of what I carried in from the outside. The place gives immediate Tiki Bar vibes but does not carry the moment to full fruition. For example, in my pictures I show curtains with Tiki Idols, and a light fixture adorn with its own hula skirt but the Tiki motif does not transport one to a Luau where dancers sway as they wait for a pig to finish roasting. Instead, the Tiki vibes are sharply contrasted with posters and other keepsakes that are both aspiration and life lessons. For instance, one reminds us to leave your drama outside. Another hanging placard lists advisories that (straight) men should adhere when hitting on women. One of these is the fact that some women's sexual preference is NO. Another poster explains what happens when girls drink too much. One of the 10 outcomes is that women confuse the kitchen floor for their mattress when laying down. Like I said, all of these small and bigger touches combine to give this place a personality that draws one to have a good time. For me, there were two standout items in the place- 1) a jukebox and a 2) pool table. I was with three people that played pool better than me. One of them explained the purpose of a chalk mound. One is suppose to rub the place between their thumb and index finger to get chalk right in there. Then rub the chalk on the stick. This will create less friction which will help you shoot better. I did all that. This moment also allowed me and another member of my group to have a lot of hard wood jokes-- what are you going to do, we were having a good time at this place, and these jokes felt right. The jukebox was also free. I played Ariana Grande's version of Popular from Wicked and I felt the song. I was warbling loudly, and off key, and dancing because I was feeling the tune and the drinks. At the end, some of the people in the bar clapped and hollered. I went to put in another song I was stopped, the regulars were watching football on a Sunday, go figure. That is the thing about this bar, it is a regular's bar. People knew each other, people knew I was the first timer. Like when I spoke, two or three people answered my question. When I was looking for the key a customer directed me to it. So this place is definitely a place where regulars are at. And if you know anything about dive bar culture, regulars who know each other make a community. So you will need to navigate these dynamics if you attend. For instance, one of my friends was in the bathroom, doing the business of two. A regular opened the door and my friend was like, I am here, closed the door. The regular did not close the door, instead he made a joke about leaving the door just a bit open, while being a bro about it. I was horrified just being a witness. But between bar flies these type of jokes might be understood as joyful. But it would take me an alternate life to find humor in potty politics. I was introduced to the White Tea shot and it has become my new shot so this place left a mark on my taste buds. The shot at the end had this strong green tea taste. The prices were right too! I can't wait to go here again, when the party vibe calls me forth! Oh and it is cash only, unless you spend 40 and above then it is card appropriate.

After experiencing this twice, it's hard not to feel like we were being unfairly targeted. The way we were treated was disrespectful, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. It left us feeling profiled rather than treated like valued customers. We will never be coming back, and I cannot recommend this brewery to anyone expecting respectful or professional service. I called in the order. The staff was friendly on the phone and helpful in choosing my meal while I sat in 405/110 traffic. I ordered the chicken kebab plate: (1) chicken skewer, rice, grilled tomato/jalapeño, pita, hummus and tzatziki. I was skeptical at the price of $25, but thought this has got to be good with all these great reviews. I was told 15 minutes. I walked in the restaurant after 22 minutes and she asked for another 5 minutes, so I ordered a beer and sat at the bar. There were 2 sorry tables, 6 people dining total. It's a beautiful delicately decorated restaurant, white and gold accents. They have beer and wine only. From the looks of it, they have some nice wines and sparkling wine only by the bottle. I did not fully understand the menu, it seemed like it was confused about the genre of cuisine and lacked an identity in my opinion. It took her a couple minutes to get the beer and the food came out very shortly after. When I removed the contents of the bag at home, I was immediately disappointed. The portions are quite small. Any place I've ever ordered a kebab plate, there's been plenty of food for two meals, because I eat small portions. That was not the case for this restaurant and at such a high cost. And on top of that, the food was lukewarm, and I only drove to my destination less than five minutes away nor did I stay to finish my beer. I called to ask about the pita cause I couldn't find it in the bag. She said it was below the rice, and I asked oh that's an interesting way to serve it...Is there a reason for that and she said it soaks up the grease of the chicken, and it's much more flavorful to dip in the hummus and tzatziki. The hummus and Taziki are in a 1 ounce plastic ramekin. The tzatziki was good, but the hummus had no flavor and with oily. The pita is below the rice making it appear that there is more food than actually exists in the smallest to go container. The pita was in fact saturated with grease, and had that rancid turned grease taste. I also realized the meat is not chicken breast but chicken thigh, and although it was tender, it lacked flavor. The rice, lacked flavor, the tomato and jalapeño were not seasoned or ripe, and the hummus also flavorless and greasy. After spending $45 on a chicken kebab plate with a beer, small portions and such bland flavors, this is not a place I'll return too. They seem to be very well liked and I'm happy for them.

We were thrilled to see a few menu options that were marked as vegan. Bonus points for being affordable! I completely missed their attached parking lot when I arrived and ended up parking across the street in the neighborhood, where there was ample free parking. When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full and there was live music occurring on the patio. We opted to sit inside where it was a little less noisy and there was a comfy and cozy booth calling our name. The vibe was great, with fun and eclectic decor. The service was really upbeat and friendly and our server was so kind and helpful. We asked him if the espresso martini had dairy in it (which I just discovered that is a thing at some places) and he double checked with the bartender to ensure there wasn't my dairy in it! I ordered that alongside a falafel wrap I must say, both of these worked so well together. The espresso martini was light and refreshing yet still had a bold flavor. The falafel was nice and crispy with a delectable inside and the tahini sauce was so rich and creamy. The meal felt indulgent yet hearty all at the same time. I left feeling so uplifted and relaxed all at the same time. Despite it being on the noisier side, I was still able to hear my friend well and it was such a great place for us to catch up. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.
