This has proven to be a professional moving company that is honest and has fair prices. I've moved with them twice in the past three years and both times I've been pleased with their services. I have read that a few people on yelp have had bad experiences with them, but that seems to be the minority. From what I've read there are very specific instances of people being upset about broken items and the replacement process or results not up to par with the customers expectations. But from what I've experienced the movers both times were very careful with my items and thorough in wrapping all my furniture in padding blankets and protecting my old and new house with flooring and wall covers. I'm not discounting other people's experiences or saying that they didn't happen, I just think that these were one off cases. For a moving company with so many satisfied customers and a long track history in the local area they have very competitive prices. I did market research prior to both moves and found the majority of moving companies charge at least $10 or more an hour per mover. So for a move that requires three movers at $10 an hour each, that's a $30 savings each hour. And each of my moves have taken at least six hours, that's at least $180 savings right there. Now this math doesn't take into account extra fees that each moving company seem to have, such as fuel and driving time, but out of all the moving companies I called all of those fees were very similar and perhaps standardized? I called Two Men Will Move You based on a recommendation from a friend. Had I looked at Yelp beforehand, I might not have hired them, but a friend referred me so I gave them a shot. I'm glad I did. Tony and Joseph came out and worked hard, with barely a pause to catch their breath. They took great care with all my stuff, wrapping and packing TV's and glass furniture carefully to avoid damage. Unloading was quick and easy despite having cleaners and construction guys out to do work on the same day. They even asked if I needed help moving anything else around in the house before they left. One other thing to note is that they were able to store my belongings on the truck for 5 days while the previous owners of the house I was moving into packed up and left. I called the night before the movers came, and even though it was last minute they were able to accommodate. Moving is a terrible hassle, but they went out of their way to make it easier. I've had mixed experiences with this moving company. One move went well - nothing special but nothing really bad either. The second move was a very bad experience, though. I had them scheduled for Sunday at 9 AM. They called me the day before at 4:30 PM and canceled on me! They had a move that was taking longer than expected and didn't have the manpower available for my move. I can understand unexpected issues arising, but they weren't very good at recovering from it. I tried begging and pleading for them to work me into the schedule - doing it later in the day, even - but no luck. I finally asked for a discount because of the inconvenience caused by the rescheduling to a later day. They refused to discount services at all. Remember, they canceled at almost 5 PM the day before. I think that's worth some sort of compensation, don't you? Anyway, I told them to forget about rescheduling, I'll find another way to get my stuff moved. I was pretty mad! I then called Starving Students and they were able to fit me in, even though it was a last-second appointment. They totally saved me! I am never calling TMWMY again, unfortunately. read more

Bruce and his crew were very polite, very efficient, and very thorough. My wife and I have been through military and civilian moves all over the country, and this was the nicest, most professional bunch that I've ever worked with. As always, we had underestimated the amount of stuff we had, and they took it all in stride. They actually thanked us for being nice to them! (Apparently, a lot of customers are rude and pushy.) They also had one of the lowest prices in the area, and they were very close to their estimate ($11 over). In my experience withe these movers, they were SUPER fast, got the job done in 1/2 the time I expected and they charged me what they quoted me. They also did not damage any furniture and went through the paperwork before and after the move. However, I thought it was extremely tacky that the driver kept telling me how "gratuity" was a big part of moving. You NEVER tell a client that they have to tip you. It is not funny, it is rude and it makes the client not want to tip you at all. Also, they decided to take a "lunch break" in between the move (which I was not opposed to since they packed so fast). Find someone else. I've used this company twice -- once in 2010 and once this week (late 2013). Both moves were roughly a mile and pretty much exactly the same stuff to be moved. The move in 2010 went relatively well. Three guys showed up, they helped pack some of the loose stuff we still had lying around, and the whole thing took 3.5 hours. (You pay by the hour.) Only downside: we've yet to find several mirrors, one Apple wifi, and a small bag with papers that were important to me. Since we've been through all of the boxes in the garage, I assume that they were either left on the truck and they didn't bother to contact us ... or stolen. Perhaps we should have looked for someone else this time, but things were very smooth last time except for the couple items we haven't found. So we used them again this week. We answered all their questions about the move and they even looked up the records from the last move, so they completely knew what they would be moving. I asked for an afternoon move and they agreed. But then they showed up at 4:15 PM with only two guys! At that point, we had done probably a dozen loads of small, loose stuff in our minivan--so, if anything, they had LESS stuff to move this time. The two guys were friendly enough, but moved like molasses. They worked 3.75 hours that night and got 90% of the stuff inside the house moved, but none of the (fairly full) garage. They left that night without a confirmed time to return, though expressing a "we hope we'll be back in the morning." I got up very early and moved 5 jam-packed minivan loads of stuff from the garage to the new place myself--just to reduce the amount of work that they would need to do (and cost!). At that point, the garage was more than half moved (by me). They showed up at 9:30, and it still took them two hours to load a very small amount of stuff from the house and really not all that much left in the garage. A friend or two and I, motivated, could have done it in 30-60 minutes. Total time: 6.75 hours. Same stuff as three years ago. 3.5 hours with 3 guys for the entire house/garage last time versus 6.75 hours this time with two guys and with a LOT of stuff moved by me, both days. Not to mention that they didn't show up until very very late and didn't finish the job on the contracted date... which created big problems for us on the move-out. My wife complained to a manager at the company about the timing and he claimed that it took longer because we hadn't properly described the contents to them -- even though I'd answered all their questions and they'd looked up the records from the last move! He was a real jerk to my wife and completely disinterested in taking any responsibility. read more

'Two Stoned Men Will Move You' is the proper name of this company. The movers got stoned outside my home after arriving and greeting me. They destroyed the armoir by tossing it down the staircase. (The company did pay me a few dollars based on the weight of the destroyed armoir) Before unloading, the larger guy asked me to write one check to him for $150 for work in excess of the 4 hour cost. He came in and made a sob story about not being able to feed his children, actually cried with tears. Coercion, I believe its called when movers won't unload until you pay extra, and directly to them, not to the company. Always good to check Yelp before hiring. read more

The 2 guys were cool yet they never offered to say that they could have had 3 or 4 guys when we made reservations. Was billed $930.00 and I literally had to help these guys move all day and then call another friend to help us when we arrived to our new home to unload. I really do not want to get into all the stories and afterwards nightmares. blah blah blah !!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. Wish we would have went to the Uhaul place in Point Loma and hired 4 of those guys that sit out front and ask if ya need help. Still woulda been cheaper than $85 HR. In short we were ripped off. My work has used these guys a few times with good results, so I decided to try them for my home move. It was a great experience. We had two guys and the driver, Nollie, was the best. He was super upbeat, laughing and singing. I am all about positivity when I move as one sour attitude can sour an entire moving day. Not the case here, Nollie's spirit kept everyone's' spirits up. The two guys worked quickly. They brought us in a bunch of wardrobe boxes that we furiously filled with small crap as they filled up the truck. They left the boxes and came back to pick them up a couple days later. The price was great! It's $275 for the first three hours and $85 an hour after that (billed in 15 min increments). We were hoping our move would only take three hours, but we had more crap to move than it looked like at first glance. These guys were quick and diligent...never wasting time. Our entire move wound up costing around $400 plus tip. Not bad for saving us the stress! I don't think you'll find a better price! read more

This was my first time hiring movers, and I am so glad that I chose this company. I called two days before my move and they're were able to accommodate. I described my situation and they estimated 3-4 hours at $95 an hour. BTW, there's a three hour minimum. The men arrived and were so nice and friendly! They moved all my stuff and my roommates stuff in 2 hours! It was stress free. :) I don't know if all the guys at this company are as friendly and attentive, but these two gentlemen were. If I could give negative stars on this review, I would. On November 15, 2017, I had a contract with this company to move my household goods from La Mesa, California, to Spring Valley, California. this distance was approximately 8 freeway miles. the scheduled and agreed start time on the 15th was for nine o'clock in the morning, but they didn't show up until nine fourty-five. when I saw their personal vehicle pull up in front of my house, I went out to inform them that I had a moving truck coming soon and could they please park somewhere else. they said that they were the movers and continued to eat breakfast. there was a strong smell of marijuana pouring from the vehicle, leading me to assume that at least one of the occupants was high on weed. throughout the day, one of the movers was really careless about handling my furniture and mattresses, and when I asked him (courteously but firmly) to be more careful he got a serious attitude and threatened to walk off the job. when they moved the mattresses to the truck, they didn't cover them or protect them in any way, dragging them down the steps, across the grass, and over the dirty floorboards in the moving truck. that was the first day. the second day, they loaded the truck at the first house, but they didn't finish. the rude guy said that if I want my stuff to get moved they have to get it over to the new place now, and besides, they didn't have enough packing material to pack up the glass for the entertainment center or finish moving the other household items. he said that I could put it in my car and do it myself (which I ended up doing, by the way.) when they unloaded the stuff at the new house, several items were damaged due to mishandling and rough treatment. I called the company and they said fill out a claim. so I filled out a claim, and submitted it. when I contracted them and paid them, I paid the additional $140 for full coverage insurance, but the company says they don't offer that. I asked what that $140 was for, and they said insurance. but, according to the PUC, that insurance is automatic and shouldn't incur an additional charge. I paid extra for extra coverage and they are not going to honor it. I don't want to bore you, reader, but be wary about using this outfit and check the law before you agree to their price. there is a lot more that happened but my fingers are tired of typing. read more

After deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt, I decided just to make a quick phone call to the company to ask for a quote, and to see for myself how good they are. Surprisingly, the person who answered the phone was polite, patient and answered my every question. It turns out that this company is actually under new management and has a new owner!! I really want to commend this company. I used them in October of 1990. And Again, in 2017 with two Separate Moves to the same Location. I want to commend the Team of Erik and Eric for the Tireless, Professionalism and Super Hard Work they did for me. These two guys I highly recommend. Hard, Hard Workers. They are focused, care about the Customer and Get the job Done. They are very careful with your possessions. I did not have anything damaged at all during this move. My Move was done in in two separate steps. Erik and Eric did my last and final Move. We had Tons of Boxes. 2 Work Benches, 5 Shelving Racks, and also an assortment of other heavy work related items. On my First Move, we had furniture, and lots of boxes. Also, items that could be damaged easily. All was transported flawlessly with no mishaps what so ever. I also want to commend the team of David and Rick who made sure that all my stuff was handled with care. Again, super Hard Working Team. Both were excellent. I have used Two Men Will Move You many times for both myself and my daughter for residential moves. They have always been fantastic, on time, professional, careful with both the items to be moved as well as the interior surfaces. My daughter owns a preschool in Poway. Recently, she moved to a new site and was planning to have friends and family help with a rental truck. On a Wednesday, with the move scheduled for Saturday, it was decided that professional movers would be a better choice. I called Cathy and even though it was the end of the month (prime time for movers) she and Diane managed to get us on the schedule at our requested time. Moving a preschool is very different from moving a residence. Even though we had boxed up the toys and books, there were many easels, tables, chair stacks, rugs as well as cabinets and bookcases that weren't very stable. The movers also had to move large play structures from the playground as well as many bikes, cars and sand boxes. Mike and Mike did a great job. The day was very hot but they powered through in a timely fashion while taking care to keep everything intact. I highly recommend Two Men Will Move You for all moves. read more

USE ANOTHER COMPANY!! I recently used this company a few months ago and it was a horrible experience! The movers were very careless. They ripped up the kitchen linoleum, scratched up our wood flooring and banged up the doorway in several places.They took pictures of the damages and said someone would call me regarding repairs. Three weeks went by and no one ever called. I finally gave them a call and I was told they never received a claim form from me. I was never told I needed to fill out a claim form or I would have certainly have submitted it immediately. I sent the claim form in and once again no one called. I had to call them up and ask about someone coming to do the repairs. After numerous calls they finally scheduled a so called repair team to come out and fix what they had destroyed. All they did was throw some paint on the doorway, glued together the linoleum and put some type of oil on only part of the damaged wood flooring. I was not home at the time so when I returned of course I called them to let them know the flooring was still damaged. The owner gave me the run around so many times it was ridiculous! She sent the same two guys back to look at the damages and they both admitted to me that they did not fix the flooring because they didn't see all of the damage. Once again I was told the owner would call me and of course no one did. Finally I called the owner and was told by her that the guys told her it was repaired. I even sent her photos of the damaged floor to which she NEVER took responsibility for. THIS COMPANY IS NOT HONEST! If I could give a -5 stars I would. GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE! I wish I could put zero stars. This was the biggest mistake I have ever made . Please trust me when I say so not waste your money . Not only will you spend a lot of money but you will lose your stuff and they company will take zero responsibility . My husband and I hired them to move us and they lost several boxes . I called about it to let them know that some big ticket items were missing since they had packed up our items and I went through every box and couldn't find are Roomba (I-robot ) as well as our master bed room comforter and I saw them but it in a box the comforter was not placed in a box but the roomba was in a box with other items . After about 1 month of going back and forth since they had no idea we were missing a box and asked if I was missing anything else . Noted umm it's hard to miss big ticket items .. I was like no just those items in box . The owner brings me the roomba without the rest of the items and my roomba is broken ... I am like umm where the rest of the stuff she is like oh this is it .. I am like where is the charger and the remaining items ? Common senses would be the other items in the box is mine since it came from my house .. lady is like oh I wasn't sure it was your stuff the rest you never said what other items were in the box .. then I am like ok it's mine . Now it's been about 2 1/2 months since I get my stuff she is like I'll drop it off to you again an other day .. I am like no I'll go there and make sure I get all my stuff I go there my stuff is all over out of boxes . The owner never apologies nothing and now I am pissed because why the heck are my stuff out of boxes .. she tells me all these stories that make no sense We never lost your stuff Oh the driver got in an accident Oh your stuff was in Mexico Like wtf this all makes no sense ?? I am like you know it's not right what happens She gave us 0 discount for the stuff I had to pick up and the stuff I lost My broken roomba !! And I am still missing items .. I am so upset and worst part is I know accident happen but the lack of caring about the situation or replacing the items they broke is frustrating or accountability or just tell me why my stuff was taken and out of boxes . worst. company. ever. I don't know where to begin....my place flooded and I had to move my things out for one month. I hired Two Men Will Move You to move my things into storage - about 5 miles from my place. They showed up (looking high) and moved my things. As they finished, I gave them specific instructions to meet me at the storage unit. I drove down to unlock the gate and wait about 20 minutes. Again, 5 miles away. They finally show up, did a three point turn, and drove away after waving. Yes, they drove away. I thought maybe they were going down the street to turn around, but after 30 minutes - yes 30 - I got into my car and drove around looking for them. After driving around and not finding them, I called the dispatch office. They said they do not have the cell phone numbers for their drivers and they have no way of contacting them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????? These people actually hire DRIVERS that drive their equipment and they have no way of contacting them??? Needless to say, I was sitting in the storage lot for about 3 hours that night waiting. I must have called their office ten times and finally got in touch with the owner. I believe I was screaming at this point because all of my belongings were in that truck somewhere with two drug addicts. The owner - to her credit - drove down from Escondido to find the truck in their lot. She could not explain why they would NOT deliver my things as promised and had ZERO explanation the next day. The drivers came back the next day and tried to shrug it off and when I wouldn't sign the paperwork, became irrate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Worst experience of my life. They were all 'jacked' up on something and it wasn't their chain smoking. After dissassembling furniture and not reassembling they had to leave late in the afternoon with a truck still not unloaded and furniture in pieces. THEY NEVER CAME BACK!! This was definitely the worst move I have ever experienced in a series of 8 moves. To start the movers arrived 1 and 1/2 hour late. Then took another 1/2 hour finding a parking place for the truck. As we were moving internally in a condo building there is a time limit on the elevator usage so when we told them they would need to be finished in 3 hours, they got upset and continued to moan and groan during the whole move. When my husband complained to their supervisor they left the rest of our things at the elevator while he was writing the check. I know people that have had good experiences with this company but that certainly was not our experience. When I spoke to the owner she just kept telling me how horrible we were and how good her employees are. Overall rate is cheapest I found but having a 650 ft sq 1 bdrm apt, it took them 6 1/2 hrs to move, so the cheap rate didnt matter when they waste time to charge more! Also have the nerve to say what type of tip is expected halfway thru the move. One guy was "sick" so we barely saw him at all, they took a lot of smoke breaks & lunch on my time for their payment, some items were broken when it got to the new place. They were HORRIBLE! I had excellent results. We are a family of 8, and this was a big 3 truck move. I met 8 of their workers, and every one of them worked hard, fast, and efficiently. The owner understands how to run a business the old fashioned way; take care of your people, and your clients, and they 'll take care of you. She sent boxes and wrapping materials to my home ahead of time, and periodically checked on my packing progress, offing to send out some pros. *they also saved and sold me used boxes at half price, and bought them back again at half price! They showed up on time and with plenty of material to protect out furniture and boxes for all of our hanging clothes. They took care of our items like they were their own. Also, we were not over charged one penny as they charge by the quarter of the hour (I believe that is what I remember). They even took out the hour they took for lunch.
