Came here on a Saturday about 2 months ago, I definitely recommend this little gem of a coffee spot they make their drinks to your preference and make the drinks taste like how they are suppose to taste I got the toasted mellow which tastes just like a toasted marshmallow without it being too sweet to where you can still taste the coffee, my mom got a Mexican mocha which she of coursed enjoyed. My sisters got Italian sodas which they enjoyed there was so many unique drinks to choose from. Please give this place a try. read more

We didn't even get to try the coffee because of how inattentive the girl was as soon as we walked in. We weren't even greeted. To her defense she was preparing drinks for a couple waiting outside, but it's not too hard to just say hello. But it's okay, we waited patiently for a few minutes and so I greeted her because she decided not to greet me yet even though we were standing there for a few minutes. And so she was like "hi, I'll be with you in just a minute." We ended up deciding just to leave because it seemed like she didn't wanna help us. read more

Came here about 2 weeks ago to get some homework done and had no idea they had no Wi-Fi. I didn't realize this until I had already placed my order with the barista. The other inconvenience about this little cafe is that they only take cash. Lucky for me I had $3 in my coin purse and was able to get a tea for $1.50. I sat outside in the patio area for about 1 hour typing up some notes and it was very peaceful, but then more people started coming and it was hard to get work done. I'd say this little cafe is great if your not needing the internet and want to just chat with some locals, which seems the thing to do around here. Overall this is a cute little spot for some treats and visiting neighbors and if your in the area and need some chill time then this would be a good place to start. read more

What a great little place! I use to live here until we moved when I was in the 3rd grade back in 19**...lol....and so much has changed! My niece lives here now and we were wandering around playing tourist and she had not been here yet. Friendly hello and the guy working made our order was great! Great, cozy place with a warm and inviting feel. The baristas are super nice and personable. The quiche was a little basic (tasted like velveeta), but i dug it. Coffee was great! The service here is really bad. I've been here three times all different girls behind the counter and not one of them is friendly. You kind of feel like you are bothering them by your presence. The only for 3 stars is because the young man behind the counter was very nice. That and the cookie he offered to warm up was delicious! The coffee I ordered - a latte -was horrible however! I was very tempted to make them do it over but didn't want to make a scene...watery and tasted old. The foam part was decent. This is actually the second coffee shop in Pacifica (other is Chit chat cafe at the pier) that had this horrible watery old tasting coffee. The place had some cute decor and was clean looking. The upstairs area was way too warm sun it was pretty cold and windy out. It also smelled like melted wax, not that I minded the smell of that but it was a bit strange for a coffee shop. I think the fans were removed as they would have helped. Covid protocol was decent but they couldn't hear well behind the plastic wall at the register. The owner was also there and never even looked at me, not once let alone acknowledge I was there ,which I found rude. Won't be going back. read more

For all the noise that everyone makes, coffee is coffee. You know a good cup when you have it, and you know a good coffee shop when you get there. Pacific Java Cafe is a good coffee shop. What I like: I can walk there every morning for a cuppa-Joe before driving into the city for work. You can't beat that kind of convenience. You can get a fancy cup, or pour a quick and easy, and good coffee and be out in a minute! The folks who work there are friendly, quick, and easygoing. The price is very right. My morning cup is $1.25 so I can bring in two bucks and leave a nice tip without a second thought. Two days of major chain store coffee is a week's worth here. They have a nice selection of delectable things to eat if you want more than coffee. The atmosphere is very small town, and relaxing. What I don't like: Maybe I'm a pretty little princess but the only thing I can think of as a complaint is that they don't bring me a cup when my alarm goes off. That's really a bit much to expect. :D NOTE: Cash only here. At their rates I can't blame them at all. Credit and Debit card transactions come with a merchant fee. I'm totally good with keeping a few bucks handy for the coffee and giving my local java cafe all the profits. read more

My mom and I come in EVERY Monday morning for coffee and and to sit and talk. The same girl is always there and is always super friendly and knows I want my white mocha with whip cream. I'm surprised I don't know her name by now! The place has pure Pacifica charm. My mom and I love coming in because it's close by, cute and comfortable. Our ONLY complaint is the outdated tables and chairs. This place is SO great, it really deserves a little face lift. New paint that makes the walls pop, some cute rustic wooden tables to match the awesome retro green couch upstairs, and NEW CHAIRS! The baby blue and pink chairs with huge rips in the cushions have got to go. But don't let this review on furniture keep you from giving them your business. As a fan of locally owned and run coffee shops, Pacific Java is right at the top of my list of places I will always go when I'm in town. It's in a cool location right by Rockaway Beach surrounded my hotels and shops. Drink-wise, they have a killer White Mocha, I like to have them add Peppermint syrup. Also their Chai latte is yummy: sweet, rather than spicy, which I personally prefer (though many disagree with me, trust me I've asked). The owner Maria is really nice, I used to see her a lot in the morning but I'm sure she got over waking up at the buttcrack of dawn, so now there are friendly girls holding down the fort. Word to the wise: if you're looking for REAL food, ie., egg sandwiches, breakfast burritos, burgers, etc, you will want to go to Nick's or Rockin' Robs just down the street. Pacific Java has bagels, pasteries, yogurts, and perogis (I think), so not really substantial in that sense. There's little knick-knacks to buy as gifts, I got my mom a tea mug from here for Christmas and she loves it. Good variety of Loose-leaf tea (try the Genmaicha!) and Coffee beans for sale. Kind out out-dated decorations and chairs/tables, but otherwise a cute place to post for a while, or stop in and get your drink to go. read more

Woman taking our order kept her mask below her nose (why bother?!), and barely looked up, let alone made eye contact. She spent 30 seconds making my lukewarm latte, with the wrong milk. To her credit, when I returned to ask for sweetener, she notified me of her error and offered to remake it, but I opted out of another mediocre beverage made by someone without a mask. This is a minimal review. I've only had an occasional cortado, cappuccino, or espresso here so I cannot rate any of their food offerings. The staff is young and polite/friendly. I'm a little picky with my coffee (not full blown snob, but I do not tolerate garbage), that being said my coffee was always well prepared. Now for a completely random rant, there seems to be a trend with a lot of coffee shops where no matter what you order, if there is milk in it they pretty much make a latte. The service dropped my rating completely. I want to start off with this place is super cute and has a lot of potential to give it 5 stars but the service was awful. My boyfriend and I went here and the lady was either having a bad day, felt over whelmed or was forced to work during the pandemic. My boyfriend asked the lady if the drink he was thinking about ordering can be iced and she rolled her eyes and said "yes". Then the drinks were finally finished and she put them on the counter and then grabbed the money. I asked her which one was the toffee drink and she said "either or" then rolled her eyes again. First, Im not a fan of cinnamon in my drinks and my boyfriend ordered one with cinnamon in it. What if I was allergic? Yea I would probably say something to begin with but when I was a barista I payed attention to drink orders. It's kind of inconsiderate and dangerous when you don't. Then after she said "either or" she placed the unwrapped straws on the countertop where the money is being placed and people are touching... during a pandemic... I get having a bad day, but I believe that if you feel overwhelmed you should just communicate to your customers. Maybe say you'll be right with them, or thank you for waiting, or I'm sorry I'm a little behind. People usually understand but she was completely rude.
