Update: I don't appreciate being called a paid fraud review. I'm not in San Francisco either. What I did pay for was hot tub services that were never rendered and we were charge for them multiple months in a row. You broke our hot tub and when we sold out house we had to cut our losses and give a big discount so the new owners could get it fixed. Austin seemed great at first but then never responded to texts, said he came when he didn't actually come out and after hiring him my hot tub BROKE!!! It won't heat anymore and was fine before him. I cannot believe that he ignores his clients and makes you do all the work to get him out there MAYBE. I have been trying to schedule a repair for almost 2 months to no avail. Austin and his employees that I have encountered/spoken with all are friendly and knowledgeable. Pacific Pools replaced my pool pump, installed a loaner pool vacuum as mine was getting quite old, and provided pool maintenance/cleaning services. The pool pump works well w/o any issues and I do appreciate him looking at trying to service my pool vacuum. The only potential issues I would recommend Austin to look into are the following: (i) It can be difficult to reach Austin, his turn around time on emails can be on the order of several days to a week at times. (not too big of a deal) (ii) I paid (in advance) for pool pump filter cleaning. I was under assumption that this service was completed, however I found out that it had not been completed about a month or so after. Not sure if this cleaning was subcontracted out or if they have a specific guy that comes out and does the cleaning, but you might want to implement some procedure or check during the weekly pool servicing that the filter cleaning was actually performed. While this was an unfortunate oversight on Pacific Pool's part, after reaching Austin he did come out right away and took care of the situation. So I do appreciate him taking action. Overall I would recommend Pacific Pools if you need monthly pool service or pump installation. Side note, Austin and his employees were always friendly to my dogs! Cheers, Kyle read more

Very very bad service!!! We hardly use the pool, but yesterday (Wednesday) my daughter and her friends decided it would be great to go swimming due to the excessive heat! We have hired Pacific Pools for over a year! We thought the pool would be clean. There was dirt, bugs and leaves in the pool when the pool man (Ken) allegedly serviced the pool the day before ( Tuesday). There were bugs and leaves floating and sunken in the pool. The condition of the pool can not be due to winds or poor weather. It was the usual beautiful San Diego weather not windy, perfect for swimming! Our pool is routinely allegedly serviced weekly. Unexceptionable condition visually and from a hygiene perspective. Wow! This is what happens when they think you don't pay attention to things! Instead of doing the job they are paid for!!! I have debated on writing a review since I don't want my name tied to negativity online and I have never written a review, however, I would think San Diego should know that Pacific Pools is not a company you should hire. At this time, Austin owes my HOA $2K in for a pool heater which he has yet to return the money for but has cashed for her own personal purposes. The beginning of working with Austin was great. He cleaned our pool but slowly, like the rest of the reviews, I could never get a hold of him and we were constantly battling with him to clean our pool. He was so MIA to the point that, our pool was frequently green. The final straw was when he asked us to pay in advance for a pool heater and installation and when we did he couldn't be reached again. He said that he couldn't install or get the pool due to covid but we ended up calling another company who gave us a pool heater in a week. When we asked Austin to return our money, he was no where to be found. We sent him multiple letters asking for our money back with no response. At this point in time, I highly recommend that no one hire this company. I will update my review once he pays my company back but until this I will let this comment stay on the internet. Also, I tried to submit a claim against his business on BBB but he isn't registered. Lesson learned! read more

We come into town to find our pool lacking chemicals or not running properly more than once. We also have a separate hot tub that is also lacking chemicals. Do not trust them!!!!! Austin is extremely unresponsive and unprofessional. He has been screening calls after he ordered the wrong cover and wouldn't pay my deposit back. It all started 7 months ago when I scheduled an appointment for an estimate and I called him 30 minutes after he was supposed to arrive and he claimed he forgot where he wrote down my address. This should have been the first sign. Next he promised me a quote the same day and it took over 2 weeks he hear from him after emailing him twice. He sent me a quote and asked for a deposit which I did and asked for the invoice. It took weeks of calling, texting and emailing to get a response. He ignored my communication for months and I finally had my tenant call him because I was afraid he was screening my calls. My tenant got a hold of Austin right away and Austin explained that the company ordered the wrong cover and would t refund him... this means it was his fault. My tenant asked him to update me immediately and it took over a week to get back to me. Again he promised an email that evening with a payment schedule, and I received nothing. I still don't have my full deposit and it has been over 6 months. Do not use this company. read more

I really tried hard not to have to post this. I think this may be my first bad review on a business. I really wish I read the negative reviews. Austin was responsive to me until he got 50% of my deposit for a salt water system. Then it took him 3 weeks to install the system. He made SEVEN different appointments with me to do so and flaked on all but the last one when I requested my money back. Never mind that I took off from work all seven times only to have him straight up not show and not even notify me. He finally installed the system when I was not home, left me a bag of salt by my door and told me to read the instruction manual. This was 5/2019. I searched the internet and figured out all the right properties to get the system to work but it still doesn't produce chlorine. I called the manufacturer who was shocked that I was calling and wondered why the person who installed it isn't the one trouble shooting. I said "well, he got my money and now ignores my calls..." Do yourself a favor and go with any other business. ANY other business. not this one. read more

I live in Coronado, CA. I was looking for a smaller business to service my hot tub, as the bigger services in this area for Coronado are rather expensive. I found Pacific Pools and Austin has been servicing my hot tub ever since. He shows up on time, takes his time, and gets the job done. He keeps the filters clean and free of debris; our hot tub is a sparkling oasis! He has always been patient and answers all of my questions. After our 'storm', my husband took the filters apart to clean them out... well, I didn't think he'd gotten everything back together correctly.....! So... I called Austin, he came out and made sure everything was working properly! (Don't tell my husband, but things didn't look too bad!) He made some minor adjustments and didn't even charge me because he didn't have to 'fix' anything. If you live on Coronado Island and have a pool, spa or hot tub, I would highly recommend Austin.
