My experience has been terrible, from the sales people to the delivery.
1. The first sales person I encountered (older man) tried to persuade me to buy an American brand. When I mentioned I was interested in the brand recommended by Consumer Reports, he told me "they were bribed." I left and returned later to buy the one I wanted. I only discovered later googling the model number on the receipt to find interior dimensions that the second sales person had ordered the wrong model for me. This delayed the delivery (and the delivery had been scheduled 2 months out in order to get the model I wanted.)
2. The delivery service told me the refrigerator would not get through any of my kitchen doors (older home). When they gave me the clearance needed, I pointed out two doorways that were wide enough if the doors were removed. Deliverers are not allowed to remove or deal with anything but the fridge. They indicated the door they wanted removed and left the new refrigerator in the dining room saying they would come back once the door was removed. (Old house, swing doors.) They said I would get a call to reschedule.
I had the door removed - no call, so I called and had to wait a week for the next delivery date. At the next date the delivery service said the previous workers had indicated the wrong door, and I needed the other door removed. Having seen it done, I unscrewed everything, told them it was ready to go and asked if they might help me move move the door (little old lady here). When they said they couldn't, I told them I would do it, and then they could install. I moved the door and looked outside to find they had left. They didn't tell me they were leaving, just gone.
So two separate occasions where I removed everything from the fridge only to find I needed to put everything back. And I still have a new, not usable fridge blocking my dining room. Yes, I'm pissed.
I spoke to the store manager, who promised a different delivery service and said I would get a call today to schedule. We'll see.
UPDATE: I didn't get a call, so I called back and was given the number of the outside delivery service and told to schedule it myself. When I called the service, they said they had supplied a price but hadn't yet received an acceptance from Pacific Sales. They agree to schedule, however.
This service was courteous and efficient and finished the job. The tech told me his company was often called in by Pacific Sales for problems, and he had heard many complaints about the usual service. He said his service would remove and replace doors, or whatever it took to install (they even put up painter's tape on the doorway so the refrigerator wouldn't scratch the woodwork.) Why doesn't Pacific Sales use a quality service in the first place? While I am very pleased with the outside delivery service, I won't go to Pacific Sales again! read more
