Absolute BEST espresso martini I've ever had in my life. This little gem is located in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego. We stopped in to kill some time before going to old town for dinner. The bartender was extremely inviting and friendly and the place wasn't really packed yet as it was early afternoon. Ordered up a couple espresso martinis and we were immediately hooked. So delicious, and well put together all the way down to the chocolate syrup on top. Tony's martini bar is an absolute winner in the Ocean Beach neighborhood. I could've spent hours there if I didn't have a reservation for dinner.

Went in around maybe 6:30 on a Friday, and it was fairly busy already. Took a booth. We weren't sure if a server came around or not - we thought we saw someone greet one of the other tables. After a few minutes, no one came over, so we went to the bar. No big deal, but it just wasn't clear. We went to 2 different bartenders for drinks. One was super friendly and made a beautiful drink for my friend. The other person seemed a little irritated, and mine wasn't as pretty (see picture). Overall though the drinks were good and reasonably priced. We would give it another try for sure now that we know what to expect. We liked that you could get martinis without the stuffy feeling of other martini bars.

This is a cool laid back dive bar! Kayla made us delicious and pretty espresso martinis while we watched some NFL playoff games. Definitely worth the visit for those and or the game

This classic cocktail bar has it all. The martinis and old fashioneds are made perfectly by all the bartenders. The bar itself is comfortable and large. There are super cool round booths and 2 pool tables. There's a late night Happy Hour with drink specials. They even mix up the vibes with karaoke on Thursday nights.

In town visiting on a mini getaway for a few days and found Tony's, We had a blast over a week 1/2 ago and it was memorable and definitely fun, the bartender who served me was awesome making the best Apple Martini's for me just the way I like and playing pool was absolutely total fun. The Karaoke was outstanding and very versatile. On my next visit to San Diego, we look forward to visiting again.

I stopped by on a Friday evening around 9:30 PM, and the place was absolutely packed. There was live music playing. The venue offers a variety of seating options, including lounge-style sofas, high-top tables, bar seating, and even pool tables. The service was fantastic. Our bartender remembered our drink orders and actively checked in when our glasses were getting low to see if we wanted another round. They have a solid beer selection, a wide variety of liquors, and a drink menu available, although I didn't get a chance to check it out. Overall, it's a fun spot with a lively atmosphere and a great place to grab drinks with friends. One thing to note: dogs are not allowed. If you're looking for a lively place with great service, live music, and plenty of drink options, this is definitely worth checking out. read more

Went here after we met Sarah in the wild! She was so sweet and funny! She made us the best tasting Almond Joy Martinis! I've only had a martini one other time and this one was so much better! Hands down! It was so delicious ! Tony's is a fun place where the locals go in OB! We had a great time hanging out! The booths are cozy and inviting. The music was playing in the background and we were all able to sit and chitchat with each other! So much fun can't wait to go back again soon! read more

the male bartenders are RUDE. the girls are super nice but seriously if you're not wanting to be put in a bad mood do not come here unless you can get the female bartenders to help you. the male barback with glasses is a total asshole. ALSO cut everyone off at 1 am but closes at 2??? don't come here if you want to have a good night. go to the bar next door! read more

We went for karaoke on a Wednesday night which started at 9. It started off slow then there were a steady stream of singers who were pretty good and the song selection was mostly up to date but I'm from Hawaii so I didn't expect them to have local songs. But surprisingly they had one Josh Totofi song and a handful of Maoli songs (but that isn't really local songs any more now is it? ). I didn't get to try any martinis but stuck to her off tap because I need to drive back to the hotel later. And Josh the bartender was very attentive. Devyn the kdj was an awesome host as well & she can SING!!!!! There is a little stage w a good and loud system where the bar really gets into the songs w the singers. And the booths on the side of the wall, the middle high tables and the bar seating were arranged in just the right places so it wasn't crowded to walk through. There was billiards in the back and I would definitely be back if ever I'm in San Diego again. read more

This place is great, the espresso martini is one of my favs but on a busy night it might take a lil. The bartender Sarah on sat pm was great, so sweet and explained the menu and gave other fun ob tips . I will def come back, the only gripe is the bathroom smelled like chemicals and in the 3 min I was in there gave me a headache. read more

Their martinis and service was very good. Who doesn't like a martini that's only 9 bucks??? Got the white chocolate raspberry and really enjoyed it. The chocolate martini also looked very delicious!! I'd come back again sometime. Not overly sweet for a dessert martini which I love. read more

Absolutely zero happy hour. Staying there for two drinks and working on my computer with my service animal... I was told by the owner I had to leave. I will never be here again deal with it themselves. As it said, this is a dog friendly bar. Granted this is not a dog... It is a service animal. You can tell the owner to suck it. I am OB and I come here quite often. This is the first time I've been harassed. Do not ever come here. read more

This bar has to be at the bottom of your list. If you want to enjoy a lack of customer service and have an experience that makes you feel like you're the pit of a peach - dirty, a scum bag, and don't matter...give it a shot. The owner, Curtis, has no desire to listen and rescale issues that the bouncers inflict. You're likely to be profiled and judged upon showing up to present your ID and may be told you're not welcome for no legitimate reason other than being the fact you're the victim of a power trip. Most recently, the sign out front advertising $3 mimosas talked me in to going inside. Who could see the sign and keeping walking?? Not me, not my friend. Didn't matter we were on our way to another bar, what's a quick pit stop?!?? Bar tender was super friendly. Gr8 place to stumble into and grab some quick dranks. A pizza joint is nearby. I say that cuz tony only got the alcohol but they allow you to bring grub in. I walked over this night and got a pizza... cuz i loves pizza!! If i remember right, this was the 20th stop of an all drinking day affair, they have a jukebox and pool tables. Great drinks at fairly cheap prices. It's my favorite neighborhood bar. The Moscow miles are $5 on Fridays. They have amazing martini's too! There is an Espresso martini and a chocolate martini that are amazing! I highly recommend this bar in OB! read more

Multiple bystanders witnessed his behavior but failed to intervene, assuming it was just "relationship drama" After the man finally left, the venue's security completely misread the situation. Instead of checking on my well-being or ensuring the aggressor had left the premises, security targeted and chased me as if I were the problem. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. I felt entirely unprotected by the staff here. I hope management takes this as a serious sign that their security team needs immediate retraining on bystander intervention and de-escalation, rather than harassing women who are already in vulnerable situations.

Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. It's difficult to even get into the parking lot, which is in a tight strip that's in between the sidewalk where the restaurant's building was located and Harbor Drive, which has its own navigating issues with the street also being the main drag to have access to the airport. I had to circle around the area using PCH to get back onto Harbor, then approach the restaurant from the north. When I got into the "lot," I had to flag down a couple of valets to ask if they had any open spots. One of them told me to circle back around AGAIN to get an open spot. I decided to heck with that and just pulled into a parking garage on Ash St. just 50 yards away from the restaurant. Once inside, we were able to get into a private dining area for my mom's party. The eating space was nice and spacious, acommodating for our party of at least 20 people. The restaurant is also very nice and clean. The entrees and appetizers did seem like standard wedding fare, though. I ordered the braised shortrib, and while it was good, I couldn't escape the impression that it was something that one would normally eat at a wedding reception. The beef was soft and tender, the mashed potatoes creamy, and the carrots were cooked very well. I enjoyed the strawberry lemonade cocktail and appreciated that they reduced the vodka content so that I wouldn't get so buzzed from one drink. Eventually, I had to order a regular lemonade though, which I did enjoy. It was sweet and not overly sour. Also one point in their favor was the clam chowder starter course. That also had a little sweet flavor to it, which was definitely preferable to having an overly salty taste. The bits of bacon in the chowder helped to cut down the sweetness. The desserts were pretty standard fare. I liked the chocolate brownie more than the raspberry cheesecake. I will also note that the two servers we had for the dinner party were terrific. It couldn't have been easy to handle that kind of workload but they looked like they've been doing this kind of thing before.

I recently visited Tony's Martini Bar on a weekend night, and while it was pretty busy, I had a great time overall. The bartenders were fantastic--super attentive and skilled at making great drinks. They definitely contributed to a positive experience. That said, the live band's music was very loud. It would've been nice if they had lowered the volume just a bit so people could actually talk without shouting. Maybe it's just me getting older, but it felt a little over the top for a place where you'd expect more of a lounge vibe. Despite that, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was top-notch. This is a fantastic bar but with one of the bitchiest karaoke hosts there is. (Sundays Only) One that also supports Israel and will completely stop your set and good time just to silence other your voice for speaking out against genocide, but whatever not like freedom of speech, better for us though, the longer your around trash the more ur likely to smell like some. I always have the best time at this bar. Chad is the best, he makes me feel safe and secure the whole time I'm there. I never have to worry about strangers kidnapping me or casting voodoo curses on me when he's around. I've never been disappointed by the craft beer selection either.
