Cute little spot tucked away on Newport ave. Love a good espresso martini, and what's not to love about a little edible art on top? Fun vibe and friendly bartenders.

Absolute BEST espresso martini I've ever had in my life. This little gem is located in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego. We stopped in to kill some time before going to old town for dinner. The bartender was extremely inviting and friendly and the place wasn't really packed yet as it was early afternoon. Ordered up a couple espresso martinis and we were immediately hooked. So delicious, and well put together all the way down to the chocolate syrup on top. Tony's martini bar is an absolute winner in the Ocean Beach neighborhood. I could've spent hours there if I didn't have a reservation for dinner.

Espresso martinis were fantastic and bartender, Ryan, was great to chat with. Location is close to Ocean Beach and other shops. We will definitely be coming back!

Went in around maybe 6:30 on a Friday, and it was fairly busy already. Took a booth. We weren't sure if a server came around or not - we thought we saw someone greet one of the other tables. After a few minutes, no one came over, so we went to the bar. No big deal, but it just wasn't clear. We went to 2 different bartenders for drinks. One was super friendly and made a beautiful drink for my friend. The other person seemed a little irritated, and mine wasn't as pretty (see picture). Overall though the drinks were good and reasonably priced. We would give it another try for sure now that we know what to expect. We liked that you could get martinis without the stuffy feeling of other martini bars.

This is a cool laid back dive bar! Kayla made us delicious and pretty espresso martinis while we watched some NFL playoff games. Definitely worth the visit for those and or the game

This classic cocktail bar has it all. The martinis and old fashioneds are made perfectly by all the bartenders. The bar itself is comfortable and large. There are super cool round booths and 2 pool tables. There's a late night Happy Hour with drink specials. They even mix up the vibes with karaoke on Thursday nights.

In town visiting on a mini getaway for a few days and found Tony's, We had a blast over a week 1/2 ago and it was memorable and definitely fun, the bartender who served me was awesome making the best Apple Martini's for me just the way I like and playing pool was absolutely total fun. The Karaoke was outstanding and very versatile. On my next visit to San Diego, we look forward to visiting again.

PACIFIC SHORES @ OCEAN BEACH…read more Parking is available on the street, and it's free! We ended up coming to Pacific Shores because one of my best friend's mom was there with her girlfriends. When we arrived, there was no line at all. Security was really nice, and we got in easily. There weren't many people inside around 10 PM, and I definitely feel like this bar is more of a "grab a drink, sit with your friends, and chat" type of spot. It's not a club or a dancing bar. We ordered a round of shots and a mixed tequila drink. It wasn't strong at all, but it was really delicious, and I genuinely enjoyed it. The server was also super nice, especially since our friend's mom kept ordering drinks and shots. He brought everything out quickly and with great service. I really loved the architecture and ambiance. It had a darker, cozy vibe, very much a small, deep-bar aesthetic. They also had some really cool paintings, and if you were wearing white or yellow, your clothes would glow in the dark, which was a fun touch. It wasn't super busy, and I appreciated how easy it was to find seating and just relax. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but it was still manageable. Overall, I'd definitely check out this spot if you're walking around Ocean Beach and want a chill place to grab a drink and hang out with friends.

The food was just as killer. The pastrami sliders were fantastic, albeit small. The tuna tostada was solid, but there should be 2 on the plate IMO. The potatoes and crispy mushrooms were very tasty. As the night drew on it got cooler inside but just be aware. The decor is adorable and the DJ was super fun. Our waitress said most of their serving dishes and glasses are antiques that the owner has collected. Love that. We ordered a glass of Gamay (because it was served cold) and beer to start. We ended up getting a bottle of the Lester Pinot Noir also because it was cold. They will let you taste any wines even before you order a full glass and that's super awesome. Note they only have beer and wine. The food was good and as everyone else has said, the portions are small. We started with the pastrami gougeres which was definitely my favorite thing that we ordered. Very, very good and not nearly as heavy as I thought they would be. I was afraid to order them because I didn't know if they'd be super filling (they are just the right amount). The summer tomato salad had an amazing ginger dressing and I thought was a pretty decent size for a small plate. The salad changes and uses seasonal ingredients. The peach was great with the tomatoes though I wish the peach had been a little more ripe. The bbq potatoes were great, my boyfriend liked those the most. And we ended with the scallops which were good but only two pieces. Definitely ask for a spoon if you get the scallops so you can make sure and get all the sauce. Overall, it's a very cute spot. Not sure if we'll go back only because it is pretty costly for the amount of food you get. But I do recommend it.

Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. My friend and I decided to both get the steak on the hot stone. It comes out raw and you have to keep track of time to cook it how you like it. You can choose flavored salts and butters and sauces for the side. We also shared the pickled strawberry salad. It had lots of toppings, flavor, and textures. The pozole verde was also excellent.

What really keeps me coming back are the seasonal transformations. They go all out with the decorations, and during Christmas the entire restaurant feels completely transformed. It's one of the best holiday dining experiences in San Diego. The seasonal touches don't stop at the décor either. I like that they regularly introduce limited-time food and cocktail specials, so there's usually something new to try while still keeping some of their popular favorites on the menu. Everything I've ordered over multiple visits has been well prepared, and I haven't had a bad meal yet. It's definitely on the pricier side, so I see it more as a place for celebrations, date nights, or when you want a unique dining experience rather than an everyday meal. Between the food, drinks, and the incredible decorations, it feels worth it for those occasions. One piece of advice: make a reservation. This place is popular, especially during the holidays and other seasonal events, and tables fill up quickly.
