Harassment until they can find grounds to drop you. After being insured by this company for more than 20yrs without a single claim, the company started a policy of harassment with threats of cancellation. It began with an inspection where the company finds minor issues around the property and requires you to fix. After several rounds of fixing and returning pictures to document, the inspector finds additional issues. The final round, the inspector cited leaves on the ground from a small 6ft tree that had dropped in the fall season. My house is kept in good shape, and I cannot understand why they are harassing me and others who I can see in this forum. I can't say enough bad things about this company. If you have a choice to buy no insurance at all, or insurance from Pacific Specialty, try no insurance at all. It'll save you the cost of the premiums, and when you have a legitimate claim, both will have you with no coverage. I was a customer of this company for 18 years. I have a mobile home and my neighbor was an agent for them. A couple of years ago they told me to get a new and then they would reinstate me. After pondering what Pacific Specialty Insurance did to me, I realized their dishonesty goes much deeper than I originally listed. I posted about how they used photos from March or April, 2024, to justify cancelling my home insurance policy, claiming that a washer/dryer on the back porch were unacceptable, among other items. They sent someone to my house in November 2024 to take pictures but withheld those pictures when we were communicating with them about their concerns. Those pictures would have shown that the appliances were no longer on the porch because I got rid of them in April. Moreover, the motorcycles were moved to Arizona in July 2024 and that fact would have shown in the November photos. read more

I got homeowner's insurance through them when I bought my home in May 2024, and they have constantly nitpicked and made ridiculous demands and cancelled me twice - once was for not replacing the roof shingles of a backyard shed with a matching color shingle. They have zero communication skills, and cancel on a dime, no notice whatsoever. I believe they cancel repeatedly in order to get more money from the homeowner - every time they cancel, the homeowner has to pay whatever extension for a full year's coverage. If it was possible to give them 0 stars I would. The company is so bad a contractor warned me up front they don't like to pay. True to his warning I was offered $2900.00 for a $9000.00 job. After contacting the state insurance board because they wouldn't return calls or even contact the contractor directly, they paid me commensurate to the damages. However after that was concluded my policy was cancelled as what I can only consider as retribution for reporting their practices. This was my first and only claim with this horrible company. Stay away from them at all cost. It is now months later an I get a call from a co tractor that they still have not been paid. Pacific Specialty also doesn't return their calls or emails. They have shorted these people $3000.00 that I'll probably have to pay now. I am rating this company a one because it's it's the lowest I am able to rate it. I have been a devoted customer for almost a decade and they can't help me on weekends. My house had a flood two days ago and the contractor recommended a hotel because of possible asbestos and mold exposure and a dehumidifier running 24 hours that makes it difficult to sleep. I am shopping for a new insurance company now and would not recommend using this lazy insurance company that can't work weekends. I had a great day, was in a calm mood, and was feeling quite happy. I called in with 1 simple question regarding clarification on "depreciation". She answered hurriedly, talking fast like an "auctioneer" at an auction. I gasped, "excuse me, could you slow down a bit so I can follow you?" She excused herself saying she just got in the office and asked for my claim number because she didn't have my file and wasn't ready yet. After doing so, the conversation went from zero to 100 in a blink. As I waited on the phone, she pulled up an email and started speed reading..., I asked her to slow down so I could follow along and then the rant began. "Well, I shouldn't be reading this, she said something about personal belongings continued...it's your responsibility to read all this yourself..I tried to interject but she didn't let me get a word in edge-wise. She made a snotty remark, "that's above my pay-grade". I asked her for the name of her supervisor she mentioned a Doug with no last name and then I asked for his number; she gave me the wrong to another property claims adjuster. Rather than apologizing for her behavior, she went on ranting saying "good luck, he's happier than I am". "You won't get anybody on the phone on a Friday!" What's unnerving is that she had no fear that her offensive behavior would have any repercussions.
