One of my favorite spots to go in downtown Conroe! The food is consistently delicious and they have a good selection of beer on tap! Happy hours is Monday - Friday 11-7 (if I remember correctly) they have $3 dollar pints of certain beer (blue moon, Miller, and ultra are a few). They have a special each day as well food wise! Last night we got the buffalo chicken sandwich which it was literally a whole chicken breast! Worth the money as it was super tasty! We also ordered beer and cheese pretzels super yummy and the Santa Fe burger which was delicious (comes with pepper jack and bell peppers). Service was friendly and good! read more

My business partner and I went here just to have a place for conversation and a drink. We found it to be a place of character but also good food at reasonable prices. Our waitress, Morgan, was delightful to talk to. She was always right there to check up on us when we needed a refill or to order an appetizer. It was not crowded when we came in a 2pm so we could talk easily. They tell me it is full most evenings and on Sundays when the have a bloody mary, fix it yourself bar. Made a 6pm reservation for a party of 10 for a Friday night and were seated right away! Our server Justin was amazing and very attentive! Everything he recommended was delicious. Appetizer: boudin ball. Big, crispy exterior, hearty, flavorful and meat chunks inside. Meal: Spicy Chicken and Shrimp Pasta. Very generous portion, penne pasta cooked just right, fantastic flavor. It was just the right level of spice and creaminess. Relaxed atmosphere, lots of tv screen for game time. The hubs and O sat at the bar bc there was open seating. No backs for the high top or bar seats. That didn't bother us m. The seats were comfortable enough for us. We ordered boudin balls and BBQ pizza. My hubs and I split both. We typically eat 1/2 a meal so it was the perfect portion for us. I'm here most Monday nights. Some friends and I hit this place up for their cheap margaritas. However, some nights they're decently strong, and other nights it's like drinking lime water. I'd like a little consistency. The food is bar food for me, since it's always past 9 pm when I go, and it's great for that. My husband I love the food. They have surprisingly awesome queso! We've had several different dishes and they've all been great. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that the service can be hit or miss. If you end up there during one of their events (some trivia thing started halfway through our meal) forget about getting your drinks refilled, your check, or anything. We were passing through Conroe for a couple of days, & found this on Yelp. Outside very inviting with large comfy patio space and blue glass fire pits. Nice place for date night with my husband. Very industrial decor, rust and brick. Beautiful bar with excellent gin & tonic made with house brands. We ate snow crab legs--super spicy with crab boil. Our lips were burning. Didn't need butter or sauce. Also ate a huge house salad. Simple mixed greens, but really delicious, fresh and crisp. Food was tasty AND healthy. Happened to be live guitar and jazzy singer. Enjoyed the laid back tone. A little loud for us, but not for all. Lots of TVs on sports channels during the set breaks. Only down side was (apparently) a hostess who seated us in an area without a server. Had to finally ask for someone to serve us, but after that we were served well. Unfortunately a young minority couple were at the same time completely overlooked. Even though we pointed out the mistake to a passing waitress, the couple got up without ordering and left. Service was great. Atmosphere was good although I would never have suspected it was any sort of restaurant from the exterior! Husband had the Sliced Beef - it was ok but the fries were salted within an inch of their lives. Daughter had French Dip and it was the best of the meals we had. But I had the steak salad. Don't. They cook the tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and grizzly small piece of steak together and dump it on the salad which results in a wilted mess. I ate a little and gave up. read more

My husband and I went last night after a year hiatus and we are now hooked. We will definitely be back. The food menu is huge. So many choices. We weren't that hungry so we shared the smoked chicken quesadilla. Delicious... next time no sharing I want my own. We also got the Chicken wings. We asked for all flats and that didn't happen. They are a bit pricey at 17.00 for 12 wings but they are really good. We got 1/2 garlic Parmesan and 1/2 buffalo. Also they smoke them then toss them in the sauce. Very good. Justin was our bartender and he was excellent. Very attentive and carried on a conversation with us and made us laugh. I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures but I will for sure next time. This review is for the restaurant aspects only - we've eaten here 10 times but never been to a show. Everything food-related about this place is surprisingly good. Why surprising? Well...it's a bar/music venue/restaurant at the ass end of Conroe, tight on the railroad tracks with a patio that looks over the tracks at a welding shop. BUT, that's where the not-great part ends. Inside and out, it's clear they spent some real money here, on the buildout, the decor, the menu, the AV equipment. And best of all, for us at least, the food is REALLY good. I seriously debated five stars, wish I could give 4.5. We've been here 10 times, especially since we can sit outside and it's been nice out, plus there's that Covid thing. Even though we're often the only people outside the service is prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. We've tried a dozen different apps and mains and have never, not once, been disappointed. If this were just a standalone restaurant, it would be most closely like Phil's in Montgomery - well done comfort food, country done right. After being all over Conroe and Montgomery for 20 years and trying most of the restaurants many times, we place PYH in the top 15%, and one of the top five or six places along the 105 corridor between Conroe and Montgomery. Among our favorite orders: pulled pork anything. They have real barbecue going somewhere and this is excellent. Chewy strands, not paste, with chunks of bark - among my favorites in the city. My wife loves their big salads with shrimp or chicken. The fried shrimp puts Landshark to shame, and these are the best fries for miles. And they've got Mulligan beer on tap (unless it's sold out, which is too damn often!) - one of my all-time favorite craft beers from right down the road in Bryan. Been here twice and the food is not great! $15 for a buffalo chicken salad that looks nothing like the picture on the menu. They call the chicken, chicken bits, but it's really chicken crumbs (left overs to be more specific). $7 for a watered down margarita and $12 for draft beer. The appetizer was huge, we got the nachos and it could've fed 4 people. I got the spicy shrimp and chicken pasta and the cheese from the pasta melted in my mouth it was delicious. Waited another 15 mins for my quesadilla burger (menu needs to be updated) the whole bun was quesadilla. Tasted like a habanero burger that was very tiny. I wanna start this by saying the food was phenomenal and the waitress was great! The only issue we had, (possibly due to COVID) was with the menu. No, not because it's QR (industry professional here) because it doesn't list the sides, the ingredients or how many sides come with each item. In theory this sounds like a random Karen issue, but I don't want to have to ask my waitress what comes on or with EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. I know how to read. List it on the menu. It also makes you feel uncomfortable and singled out as a first timer. (The Menu, that is.) Because asking one or two questions is one thing, but having to ask 67 questions about the menu because someone is too lazy to put ingredients underneath the items, thus adding more strain on the waitress/waiter. Dumb. Good location, great atmosphere, fantastic food, just not "user friendly." This could be 5 stars. read more
