We ordered the delicious and artistic tuna Tartare. Wow! Delicious with whipped wasabi cream sauce on the side. Love this seafood place! We were able to walk in at 6 pm and were able to be seated right away. This place is a great restaurant to unwind with great food and drinks. The restaurant is busy, with many patrons, but not too crowded, since we came in before the dinner rush. Apps: Oysters: Fresh & smooth, not briny. Steamed Mussels: I've never had a broth with mustard before and surprisingly it was delicious when it's paired with white wine and shallots. We even asked for extra bread to help sop up the savory broth. It almost tasted like curry. Main: Pan seared Chilean Sea Bass. I really liked the Asian flavors of this dish. The sauce with the fish and rice were excellent and portion size was perfect for one person. I tried the seafood stew and this was delicious! This soup was loaded with lobster, fish, mussels, and clams. It distinctly reminded me of Cajun Pan Roast but instead of the rice on top, it was incorporated within. Dessert: Hands down this is the creamiest creme brulee I've ever had. Having eaten many creme brulees, with flavored ones being my fave, this one tops the list. It is your basic creme brulee but it's way above the standard. It's so smooth, that it had the consistency like pudding. This was a delectable dish and I highly recommend! I have been wanting to come here for quite some time so I made a reservation for our anniversary dinner. As soon as you walk in, there's a strong smell of fish. The hostess and bus boy were very nice. Our first server named Roxanne was rude, inattentive and rushed us after a minute to order drinks. Our next server named Julia who didn't give us an explanation as to why our server was changed was very sweet and nice but incredibly forgetful. She forgot our sauce's, my lemon and didn't check back to see if we wanted drinks. At the end of the night, she said oh, I figured you were here for a celebratory dinner, Can I not just go to a nice restaurant on el Paseo without it being something to celebrate? Not only did it take forever to get our food, but when I finally received my sugar spiced salmon it was bland and flavorless. My husband said his steak was perfect and his old fashion was excellent. Once again, we let Yelp be our "Yellow Pages" (those of you who are Gen Z or Gen Alpha probably don't know what that I'm talking about) decided on having some seafood for dinner and Pacifica was chosen. Once again we ended up close to The Venue where we ate the night before and arriving at 6 pm we parked steps away on El Paseo (love the fact that the Palm Springs area has no Parking Meters). Once seated we ordered the calamari and clam chowder followed by the three recommended entrees of the pan seared Chilean sea bass; boneless beef short ribs and the sugar spiced salmon. All three entrees hit the mark as well as what I coined as the Palm Springs version of the Hawaiian Hula Pie. The only disappointment was the calamari which was average at best as it basically lacked flavor but thankfully had the 2 dipping sauces. This area for opportunity was not a deal breaker and overall it was a great experience - our female server was excellent along with the various server assistants who waited on our section. The seafood stew was flavorful and huge with a lot of seafood (scallops, fishes, lobster and shrimps) and a salad/soup; I could not finish it all! The mahi mahi was wonderful according to my husband. My kid got a full size fish and chips and she finished one fish and some fries and it also came with a drink and a ice cream! The prices are very reasonable here to my surprise. The location: GORGEOUS. We sat by the glass which looks over El Paseo. The rooftop portion had lights, tables, and booths. It was very intimate. If you eat here, ask to eat on the rooftop. Food: It was alright. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. It was fried well and the spicy Vietnamese dipping sauce was the star of that dish. I got the Sugar Spiced Salmon and my boyfriend got the Filet Mignon. My boyfriend ordered Medium Rare and the steak was more on the rare side. They didn't let us know they had cut potatoes and not the garlic mashed potatoes. Wish it was that I think it would have elevated the dish more. The side with the chopped potatoes and vegetables was disappointing and flavorless. The Cabernet sauce was too bitter and took away from the steak. The salmon was a tad bit over cooked but still tasty. The rub on it had a good flavor. I think the wonton chip underneath the salmon could be done away with. It was kind of a weird addition. the mustard sauce I thought was creamy however needed more salt for flavor. We personally wouldn't go back. The food isn't worth the price. read more

Filet was ok, had some bite and chew to it, so not sure if it Elias trimmed greatly, but still had some good flavor. Lobster, we'll always a good choice. Not overly zoomed, now chewy. Shrimp pasta did not have a lot of flavor, so maybe a miss on this meal. Overall it was good. Most likely won't be going back, but ok. read more

We went on a Friday. They close at 9 pm and we hit traffic coming from Rancho Cucamonga so our ETA was 8:33 pm. We called to see if they would still take us. The hostess Alexis was sweet and told us to come on down anyway. When we arrived the hostess asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside. My date chose outside. I was nervous because I get cold but to my surprise they sat us in a booth that replicates a cabana and it had its own heat lamp right above the table. It was perfect! Being outside but warm with a view of the city and the ambiance was beautiful. Our waiter was Santiago it was like he knew us. His recommendations were on point! He recommended the blueberry martini for me and a Manhattan for my date. Drinks were not only delicious but they weren't stingy with the alcohol. We got a head change for sure. As for food we got a little of everything from scallops, ceviche,, cauliflower, sea bass and ahi tuna Everything was delicious! The scallops and sea bass ceviche were our top two. When we first sat down Santiago said we were dressed to impress and asked us what we were celebrating. We said "life." He gave us a high five. I say that to say that is the vibe here.... Kuddos to the manager at Pacifica for following up on our dinner reservation request. We had requested with our dinner reservations to be seated to see the lunar eclipse, the first seating didn't quite work and she proactively realized this and moved us to a better location. We had a very good lunar eclipse experience. We started with the Baked Oysters on the 1/2 Shell. As you can see in my pic, we received 6 with barnacles and all (we liked the barnacles as a way of further expressing the ocean). The combination of the spinach, butter and lemon-parmesan gratinee was a savory way to start the evening. What sauce and topping I didn't use on the oyster, I used on their sour dough bread. Their sour dough, served warm, had the requisite pronounced flavor which held up well with the oyster sauce and topping - great combo. The lunar eclipse was in progress - see pic. We then had the Insalata Melenia. The mix of greens (which were fresh) and the sweetness of the fruit all melded well with the tang of the gorgonzola cheese and their lemon-mango vinaigrette. It was a nice balance all the way around. As you can see in my pic, the piece of sugar-spice salmon. I find interesting to put sugar on fish. The seasoning is a balance of earthy spices and a touch of sugar. They hit the balance and in the process caramelizing the sugar. This was a thinner piece of salmon and a bit over-cooked. On this evening, they were out of shrimp for my first choice of Shrimp Scampi Pasta. So we had the Seafood Stew. It had all the usual variety of seafood. The fish pieces held up well and were tender. But the lobster tail and shrimp were over-cooked. (The shell fish are served in the shell and takes a bit of work to free up the meat.) There is a bit of rice in the bottom of the bowl. The tomato based broth was very good. A nice mix of fish stock savoriness (a word in my dictionary) and a bit of heat on the palette. We really appreciated management and staff's appreciating our desires to watch the lunar eclipse. It was enjoyable to see staff and other patrons enjoying the evening show as well. read more

Okay, we had a truly exceptional experience here. Wow! We came here for happy hour between 3:30 - 5 and got an awesome spot right at the rooftop glass. Happy hour deals are great! They have a two course meal for $25, or save $2 off appetizers and cocktails, plus discounted beer and wine. We opted for the two course meals - with the option of a few soups and salads as the starter and several seafood and meat mains. All of the cocktails our table ordered were delicious and craftfully made! Loved my pineapple lemon drop and others loved the mezcal and whiskey cocktails offered. We tried both the clam chowder and Mulligatawny soup - both so good! I'd never heard of the soup before but it was similar to a spiced lentil stew and surprisingly delicious I LOVED the sugar spiced salmon, wow! Packed with flavor, and the sauce was just the wonton ring really elevated the presentation too. Others at the table got the seafood skewer and were impressed at how many scallops and shrimp they got! One of the best parts about our timing was that every first and third Friday, folks drive their classic or fancy cars around the Main Street several times. We had so much fun watching the cars go by from our birds-eye view! Come during happy hour on the first and third Friday for the show. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a tasty experience! Had a reservation and our table was ready at the scheduled time! Palm Desert has a lot of experienced residents and the restaurant also has an early bird special, so we were definitely the youngest ones here by numerous decades...it got better as the night continued but the crowd also thinned out. Started off with the ahi tuna appetizer and it was decent. Raw tuna topped with avocado with some taro chips. The sea bass entree was excellent. Super fresh sea bass with a juicy interior, topped with a few pieces of bok choy, a bed of curry, along with some gingered rice .. Meal ended off with the apple strudel which was nice to look at. Seems like it was reheated in the oven and there was ice in the ice cream... Service was decent by the staff that wore a mask covering their mouth and nose. I was a little hesitant to pursue Pacifica Seafood Restaurant since we passed by the Sullivan's Steakhouse just right beside it. You know me; I love me my steaks. But the missus decreed it was Pacifica Seafood and that was that. We were promptly seated on a busy Saturday night though it helps that we came in at a geriatric hour. I must say that the restaurant really looks nice and posh on the inside. As I looked onto the menu, I was pretty surprised that the 'surf' prices really approach the 'turf' prices on you common steak houses. Alas, I went ahead and ordered their Grilled Pacific Swordfish that came along with their Caesar Salad for good measure. The Caesar salad came and it wowed me. "Anchovies to kick it up a notch, that's a good starter", I'll say. The dressing is pungent creamy and those anchovies really tops it. Not a time is wasted, and my swordfish came. It was a good portioned meat and boy it did it right when I picked this entrée. The fish was moist and flavorful. On top of that the accoutrement, the chipotle salsa, avocado puree and all, just heightens the elegance of the dish. That was just a well thought after seafood meal that my palate truly appreciates. Lest we forget how the kids we also delighted with their food? Overall I would say that passing over beef (steakhouse) was a very wise decision as Pacifica Seafood definitely brought it. read more

We didn't have such a great experience at Pacifica. The service started slow and things went downhill from there. We were shown our table around 6:30 and sat for 20 minutes until having to go to the host and complain. Our server showed up shortly and apologized for the delay. We ordered drinks and starters. Luckily I ordered wine but my wife's Cosmo was horrible and we sent it back only to have a similar version return. Apparently the bartender didn't know how to make one :/ We ordered the garden salad and tomato bisque soup. The salad was fine but the soup was an odd deep red color and super salty. We moved on to the main course where I had the short ribs and my wife had the scallops. The short ribs were not bad but the scallops were cooked way too much. We had a coupon from our concierge for a free dessert but the waiter wasn't familiar with the offer and took 10 minutes to figure out it was good. We just had the ice cream/sorbet (two scoops). The sorbet was good but the chocolate ice cream was imitation ice milk or something not even edible. For what we were told to be a high end restaurant Pacifica underwhelmed in a big way.
