Stopped at Paciugo's at Dallas Love Field and picked up a bottle of Perrier. There were no price tags, and I was shocked to find it cost $5.99 at the register. When I asked to return the unopened bottle, the staff spoke rudely and said, "We don't display prices" and "we don't do returns." Completely unprofessional and dishonest. Paciugo is a Dallas-based franchise specializing in coffee and gelato. I read that their founders were a husband-wife team with the wife being the gelato expert and the husband a coffee roaster. I came here because I was intrigued by their Gelatte - yes a hybrid of latte and your choice of gelato (I chose amaretto chocolate chip). Its actually blended together and not like the picture which suggests cold gelato floating on a hot latte - I think that's a different drink called affogato (which is also offered here). The Gellate was interesting and pretty good - similar to a flavored latte but perhaps creamier and richer. I'm not 100% sold that the whole was better than the parts though. The gelato varieties and flavors look good enough to eat alone! Note they have both milk-based and water-based gelatos, and they describe the %fat with each flavor. 3.5 stars - will want to try again if I come across DAL again. read more

Honestly some of the best gelato I've had - and I live where the cult of Art of Flavors / Gelatology is - Las Vegas. Flavors are strong and not overly sweet. Pistachio was definitely the best of the flavors I picked. Prices are great. A small size with 3 flavors comes out to $4.60. That's a steal because I was able to split a small with my fiance and feel satisfied. At Hudson News, a grocery lunch box sized cup of Chobani was more than $3.50. Gelato was definitely the best choice for a snack at the airport. read more

Stopped in Dallas Love field on my way to California and wanted a quick snack. The place is really cute, they serve coffee and gelato and have a couple of tables for you to sit and relax. I had the small size with up to three flavors: pistachio, mocha and tiramisu. Unfortunately the flavors were a little on the weaker side. You can taste them but barely. The gelato was also more watery than creamy and you had more of a sugary taste rather than taste the flavors which I thought was too bad. I am curious to see however how their coffee tastes like, people seem to like it a lot. I know people sometimes commented about the cleanliness of the place... When I went there it was pretty clean, nothing I would complain about. Not sure how consistent they are with that. read more

I post this as three stars because the lady behind the counter was so nice the gelato was very good. The location just needs to work on the details, keep the tables clean keep the counter where you serve the food clean, keep the racks for you put the chips and other things full make it look good and inviting I saw several people stop take one step inside look around and leave. While fifty people stand in a super slow line for Starbucks, and the DD looking just as bad, I go seeking an alternative caffeine source. I peak in Paciugo to see if they have hot drinks, and to my joy they do! The man working was so friendly and helpful(also Purple Heart veteran of the Marine Corps- such a pleasure to meet you sir), and suggested a latte with melted gelato. Whatever- I'm in an Airport, where the prices are sky high and the calories don't matter. It was so good! I chose Irish Coffee gelato added to my latte, and it was like warm heaven in a cup. It was like having Baileys for breakfast!!! I felt a wave of sympathy for all the people waiting in the Starbucks line- this latte far exceeds anything they will end up drinking. read more

My most recent visit was an extreme and a small cup, which is $4.99, was barely filled with gelato. I have to tell you. The worst experience. 4 employees in the store. Three males and one short woman who seemed to be either a supervisor or a manager. Myself standing in line waiting to order and a lady in a wheelchair waiting for her pretzel. No one said hello. No one said one moment please. No greeting. Just a conversation about how crappy their jobs are. I waited 5 minutes and turned and walked away. Their service level was appalling. I had the Grande with Chocolate, Banana,Wedding Cake, Amaretto Choc. Chip & Texas Pecan Salted Caramel. It was out of this world!!!
