The buttercream texture complimented the cake (sometimes this part throws me off when the texture varies wildly but they did a great job here) Blueberry danish was yummy and each bite was full of flavor. Very much enjoyed my first visit to Sugar & Sage! They have lots of outlets indoors so it was nice to be able to sit and get some work done. Their danish and drinks were fantastic and the baker on shift was SO KIND to us. I personally appreciate how bright and open the space feels! I'd love to come back when the weather's warmer to enjoy their back patio. Something to keep in mind is that they do close at 4pm! Love this place. I've fallen in love with their breakfast danishes each season so far. It is a bit small inside meaning not many seats to work with outlet nearby to keep a charge. However one time I did go there to work and one of the employees when not working actively with a customer was still talking and talking with a very loud with an outside voice that was disrupting my work/focus with headphones in. I ordered the Mermaid Matcha and a brioche pastry in my visit today. I believe their mermaid matcha is matcha and butterfly pea flower tea mixed together to get that dark sea green color. It's a pretty color but I am not sure how appetizing it looks drinking it. The person at the counter told me that it will taste a bit like cereal milk which she was right about that. This drink is not overtly sweet which I enjoyed but I think if I get this drink again I would get it with oat milk. I was a little put off by the person at the counter taking my order while whisking a drink as it wasn't incredibly busy there. I wouldn't have minded if they told me to give them a second before taking my order because it made me feel like I needed to rush ordering a bit. As for the pastry, it was delicious. The croissant was flaky and soft and the cream cheese filling went great with it. I would get this again for sure. The interior was very clean and elegant. Love this little hole in the wall spot. It's very unassuming on the outside, but as soon as you walk in the door, it's clean, beautiful, aesthetic, and the customer service is awesome. The staff was calm and kind. I never felt rushed. I ordered an iced chai, which was a tad bit too sweet in my opinion but still delicious nonetheless. I was a little upset that there weren't that many pastry options. But I did come around 1:30 PM on a Saturday, so that was probably bad timing on my end. Upon walking in you immediately get a charming retro era French cafe vibe. It's not very large but what they've done with the space is beautiful and I love the attention to detail. The service was amazing, both women I spoke to were very attentive and didn't make me feel rushed to order. I did notice a woman later that looked like she may own or manage. I had never tried a sage latte. I will say this latte is now in my top 3 best lattes I've ever enjoyed and the latte art was absolutely beautiful! The woman up front let me know all of the pastries are baked in house. THIS IS WHAT I MISS. There are so many coffee shops popping up but when you find a place that is passionate about their craft it makes a difference. I am personally not a fan of delivered bakery items in coffee shops. This was hands down the best chocolate croissant I've ever had. The chocolate was not too sweet, the croissant was beautiful and buttery with the most delicate sprinkle of confectioners sugar on top. The decor inside was beautiful, I loved the soft pinks and touches of gold throughout the retro feel. My only recommendation would be to incorporate some more live plants. This place is too beautiful for faux. The patio was also beautiful, it's simple yet stunning. Stopped by here for casual coffee with a coworker. The interior is beautiful and it was nice and quiet inside. They had a neat outdoor space in the back, but it was being rented for a private event. I was hoping they'd offer some unique or seasonal pastries, but nothing stood out to me so I went with their seasonal rose garden latte which the barista recommended. It honestly just tasted like a regular latte in my opinion, but it was good coffee at least. I can't explain how much I love this place! The best matcha I have ever had in my life. It's so smooth and you can tell there's not many additives in it just by the texture / taste. Food was delicious! Service and drinks not so much. Came in about 9am on a Saturday a bit before brunch rush. We each got one savory item and one sweet item and a drink. The cashier took our order and handed us the box of pastries we sat down to eat and wait for our drinks and realized everyone else got their items warmed up. My boyfriend got back in line pastries in hand to ask them to warm them up because his kolache wouldn't have been good cold. He waited another 15 minutes to get to the register and then was ignored for another 5 minutes while he stood there with two pastries in his hands. Finally they asked what he needed and they heated them up and brought them out for us and asked if we had wanted the mustard that came with the sausage.
