I've been hearing great things about this place and I finally had a chance to check it out recently. I was pleasantly surprised by how good their coffee is. I ordered an iced honey vanilla lavender latte and it was amazing! It was a bit sweet but you can still taste the coffee. I also ordered their chocolate chip cookie because it looked so good on the display and oh my goodness it was delicious! I highly recommend checking this place out.

Very much enjoyed my first visit to Sugar & Sage! They have lots of outlets indoors so it was nice to be able to sit and get some work done. Their danish and drinks were fantastic and the baker on shift was SO KIND to us. I personally appreciate how bright and open the space feels! I'd love to come back when the weather's warmer to enjoy their back patio. Something to keep in mind is that they do close at 4pm! Another thing I noticed is they don't consistently fill your drink up :( This wasn't just on my drink but for other's orders I observed as well.

Came here while visiting and shopping the strip mall near university park district. This bakery is soooo cute and there's a big mirror to take cute selfies with your friends!! It was a little crowded when I went and seating was a bit limited. But if you get here early enough I think it would be a great study spot with natural lighting. I saw a poster for matcha soft serve at the front of the store and ordered it, costing me around 8$. The matcha in the poster was stacked a couple tiers high (like three swirls). However they ended up giving it to me in a very small cup and didn't give me as much as the ad. The brownie was good with it but I don't think they gave me enough of that either. Wouldn't get it again, not worth the price. My friend ordered a tiramisu latte which was absolutely delicious with a very intense roast flavor and had just the right amount of sweetness. We also got a croissant which was dusted in cinnamon sugar and had the perfect crunch & flakiness! Paired very nicely with the soft serve. I would come back for the drinks but probably not the soft serve.

I ordered the Mermaid Matcha and a brioche pastry in my visit today. I believe their mermaid matcha is matcha and butterfly pea flower tea mixed together to get that dark sea green color. It's a pretty color but I am not sure how appetizing it looks drinking it. The person at the counter told me that it will taste a bit like cereal milk which she was right about that. This drink is not overtly sweet which I enjoyed but I think if I get this drink again I would get it with oat milk. I was a little put off by the person at the counter taking my order while whisking a drink as it wasn't incredibly busy there. I wouldn't have minded if they told me to give them a second before taking my order because it made me feel like I needed to rush ordering a bit. As for the pastry, it was delicious. The croissant was flaky and soft and the cream cheese filling went great with it. I would get this again for sure. The interior was very clean and elegant. Heads up, parking may be a bit difficult here due to construction in the area. It was also a bit difficult to find their menu online as the website only showed catering. Overall, I enjoyed the items I received and would stop by here if I was around the area.

Love this little hole in the wall spot. It's very unassuming on the outside, but as soon as you walk in the door, it's clean, beautiful, aesthetic, and the customer service is awesome. The coffees are made fresh to order and the bakery always has delicious sandwiches and desserts. My two coffees were $14 and I usually like to enjoy them outside. They also spice up their menu by offering weekend specials or seasonal drinks. It makes coming back always exciting. Definitely worth stopping by!

I really enjoyed this coffee shop. It's a beautiful bright white but still calm and relaxing. It's pretty cozy inside. Plenty of drink and pastry options. There was quite a bit of seating but it was definitely busy. They have limited parking which I was glad. I'd visit again to try more off the menu!

Great vibes, great service, great coffee and great food!! I got a cappuccino and it was absolutely fantastic. I also got a chocolate dipper cookie and a kouign-amann that were to die for. Really cute back patio area!!

Sugar & Sage is such a charming little coffee shop! The outdoor area is very peaceful and beautiful. It's enclosed by fences, so you can't see the surrounding roads and stores. Makes it perfect for a little photo moment, especially with the cute bungalow style chairs. Also, I noticed how attentive the staff was to make sure the tables and restroom were clean. The staff was calm and kind. I never felt rushed. I ordered an iced chai, which was a tad bit too sweet in my opinion but still delicious nonetheless. I was a little upset that there weren't that many pastry options. But I did come around 1:30 PM on a Saturday, so that was probably bad timing on my end. The espresso gluten free brownie still satisfied my pastry craving. There is a parking lot in front, but they do share with lots of other businesses in the area. Overall, I enjoyed coming here and would recommend it to anyone in the area!

    Cinnamon bun latte

The croissant looks gorgeous but is really buttery. It was also a little tough on the edges. Maybe it was just this batch. 3/5 The cinnamon bun latte with maple, vanilla, and cinnamon is fantastic. Smooth, flavorful, and not too sweet. No complaints there. I'd definitely get this coffee again 5/5 Cute place. Great natural lighting. Nice styled interior. Many people just sitting around chatting. Friendly staff.

Upon walking in you immediately get a charming retro era French cafe vibe. It's not very large but what they've done with the space is beautiful and I love the attention to detail. The service was amazing, both women I spoke to were very attentive and didn't make me feel rushed to order. I did notice a woman later that looked like she may own or manage. She had a wonderful smile and managed her team very well. When I did get to order I asked for a recommendation between the strawberry mocha or sage latte. The woman at the counter said the sage latte is her go to and I thought of course, I have to try the sage latte if I'm at a place called sugar & sage. Also, I love that this place is affordable. I had never tried a sage latte. I will say this latte is now in my top 3 best lattes I've ever enjoyed and the latte art was absolutely beautiful! The flavor of sage was subtle yet elevated the experience. I will definitely be showing this place to my friends. I also ordered the pain de chocolat which was a beautiful chocolate croissant. The woman up front let me know all of the pastries are baked in house. THIS IS WHAT I MISS. There are so many coffee shops popping up but when you find a place that is passionate about their craft it makes a difference. I am personally not a fan of delivered bakery items in coffee shops. This was hands down the best chocolate croissant I've ever had. The chocolate was not too sweet, the croissant was beautiful and buttery with the most delicate sprinkle of confectioners sugar on top. The decor inside was beautiful, I loved the soft pinks and touches of gold throughout the retro feel. My only recommendation would be to incorporate some more live plants. This place is too beautiful for faux. The patio was also beautiful, it's simple yet stunning. I'm sad that they close at 4 because I did notice some string lights that I'm sure look beautiful at night. The bathroom is also beautiful, they had a lovely candle burning. Also, this place closes at 4 and they are pretty sharp on it which is completely understandable so if you arrive at 3 prepare to enjoy the space for about an hour. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back.

    Rose Garden Latte, Mermaid Matcha
    Susan N.

Stopped by here for casual coffee with a coworker. The interior is beautiful and it was nice and quiet inside. They had a neat outdoor space in the back, but it was being rented for a private event. I was hoping they'd offer some unique or seasonal pastries, but nothing stood out to me so I went with their seasonal rose garden latte which the barista recommended. It honestly just tasted like a regular latte in my opinion, but it was good coffee at least. My coworker got their mermaid matcha and although it tasted decent, we could hardly taste the matcha in it. The space and drinks were beautiful though.

    Lissette M.

I was craving a matcha and came here because it was the closest coffee shop to me. I got the Banana Froster Matcha and a danish. This is by far the best banana matcha I've had in the DFW area. They have great pastries and a very kind staff. It's a great bakery with beautiful outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend.

The location does not have plenty space for parking. It's a cute little bakery. Service is great. The homemade Chai latte is the best ever!!

The first thing I noticed was how beautiful everything is. The décor is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. And yes...those are real trees. That actually matters to me. I love restaurants with a beautiful aesthetic because it makes the whole experience feel special. Good food is wonderful, but good food in a beautiful space? That's even better. The menu is perfect if you're dining with friends because there are so many things to share. We ordered the traditional sampler, and it was such a fun way to try several Guatemalan dishes. Every plate that came out looked fresh, colorful, and made with care. The cheese pupusa was delicious, and the cotija cheese was the perfect finishing touch. Then there were the plantains. I actually stopped our server to ask, "Do y'all make the plantains from scratch?" They do. And it shows. They were fresh, perfectly cooked, and so good that I kept reaching for another one. Honestly, they may have been my favorite thing on the table. The steak was cooked exactly medium, had a great char, and was full of flavor. Portions were generous across the board, which is always a win because leftovers are basically tomorrow's gift to yourself. The spinach artichoke dip surprised me. If you're someone who genuinely loves spinach, you'll probably be very happy because spinach definitely got top billing in that relationship. It tasted incredibly fresh, and it made me realize I apparently prefer my artichokes to be just a little more competitive. The service was warm and welcoming all evening. I ordered a red sangria that never quite found its way to the table, but honestly, by the end of the meal I was so full that my stomach had already voted "maybe next time." One of my favorite parts of the evening was learning more about San Martín's history. Knowing it began in Guatemala and is especially known for its bakery and breakfast immediately put breakfast on my "I need to come back for this" list. By the end of the meal, we were full, happy, and already talking about what we'd order next time. That's usually the sign of a restaurant I'll happily recommend. Beautiful atmosphere. Fresh food. Generous portions. Outstanding plantains. I'd give San Martín a solid 9 out of 10, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

SHOUT-OUT TO KRYSTAL!…read more My sister-in-law celebrated her 60th birthday today with a surprise party, and we had about 40 family members attend! We all arrived between 12:30-12:45, and the party started at 1:00. I have to take a moment to give credit where credit is SERIOUSLY due! Our waitress, Krystal, was absolutely AMAZING. And when I say she was doing EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING! She was the only person serving us, while also having two other tables outside of our banquet room. Yes, our food took a while to come out -- but that was absolutely NOT Krystal's fault. She was working her butt off and doing everything she possibly could. She was attentive, constantly checking on our drinks, making sure everyone was taken care of, and paying attention to every little detail. It wasn't until toward the end of the party that I realized she had been handling this entire situation ALL BY HERSELF. She told me that the banquet hadn't even been put on the manager's calendar, so she basically got thrown into a party of 40 people at the last minute. And let me tell you something, KRYSTAL ROCKED THAT SH*T! Krystal, thank you so much for everything you did for my family today. You were kind, attentive, professional, and you never made us feel like we were a burden, even though you had been handed one hell of a situation. I personally hate Red Lobster and I don't even eat seafood, BUT my family will absolutely be coming back -- and I hope they come back specifically to see YOU!
