Very much enjoyed my first visit to Sugar & Sage! They have lots of outlets indoors so it was nice to be able to sit and get some work done. Their danish and drinks were fantastic and the baker on shift was SO KIND to us. I personally appreciate how bright and open the space feels! I'd love to come back when the weather's warmer to enjoy their back patio. Something to keep in mind is that they do close at 4pm! Another thing I noticed is they don't consistently fill your drink up :( This wasn't just on my drink but for other's orders I observed as well.

I ordered the Mermaid Matcha and a brioche pastry in my visit today. I believe their mermaid matcha is matcha and butterfly pea flower tea mixed together to get that dark sea green color. It's a pretty color but I am not sure how appetizing it looks drinking it. The person at the counter told me that it will taste a bit like cereal milk which she was right about that. This drink is not overtly sweet which I enjoyed but I think if I get this drink again I would get it with oat milk. I was a little put off by the person at the counter taking my order while whisking a drink as it wasn't incredibly busy there. I wouldn't have minded if they told me to give them a second before taking my order because it made me feel like I needed to rush ordering a bit. As for the pastry, it was delicious. The croissant was flaky and soft and the cream cheese filling went great with it. I would get this again for sure. The interior was very clean and elegant. Heads up, parking may be a bit difficult here due to construction in the area. It was also a bit difficult to find their menu online as the website only showed catering. Overall, I enjoyed the items I received and would stop by here if I was around the area.

Love this little hole in the wall spot. It's very unassuming on the outside, but as soon as you walk in the door, it's clean, beautiful, aesthetic, and the customer service is awesome. The coffees are made fresh to order and the bakery always has delicious sandwiches and desserts. My two coffees were $14 and I usually like to enjoy them outside. They also spice up their menu by offering weekend specials or seasonal drinks. It makes coming back always exciting. Definitely worth stopping by!

I really enjoyed this coffee shop. It's a beautiful bright white but still calm and relaxing. It's pretty cozy inside. Plenty of drink and pastry options. There was quite a bit of seating but it was definitely busy. They have limited parking which I was glad. I'd visit again to try more off the menu!

Great vibes, great service, great coffee and great food!! I got a cappuccino and it was absolutely fantastic. I also got a chocolate dipper cookie and a kouign-amann that were to die for. Really cute back patio area!!

I was craving a matcha and came here because it was the closest coffee shop to me. I got the Banana Froster Matcha and a danish. This is by far the best banana matcha I've had in the DFW area. They have great pastries and a very kind staff. It's a great bakery with beautiful outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend.

Sugar & Sage is such a charming little coffee shop! The outdoor area is very peaceful and beautiful. It's enclosed by fences, so you can't see the surrounding roads and stores. Makes it perfect for a little photo moment, especially with the cute bungalow style chairs. Also, I noticed how attentive the staff was to make sure the tables and restroom were clean. The staff was calm and kind. I never felt rushed. I ordered an iced chai, which was a tad bit too sweet in my opinion but still delicious nonetheless. I was a little upset that there weren't that many pastry options. But I did come around 1:30 PM on a Saturday, so that was probably bad timing on my end. The espresso gluten free brownie still satisfied my pastry craving. There is a parking lot in front, but they do share with lots of other businesses in the area. Overall, I enjoyed coming here and would recommend it to anyone in the area!

Upon walking in you immediately get a charming retro era French cafe vibe. It's not very large but what they've done with the space is beautiful and I love the attention to detail. The service was amazing, both women I spoke to were very attentive and didn't make me feel rushed to order. I did notice a woman later that looked like she may own or manage. She had a wonderful smile and managed her team very well. When I did get to order I asked for a recommendation between the strawberry mocha or sage latte. The woman at the counter said the sage latte is her go to and I thought of course, I have to try the sage latte if I'm at a place called sugar & sage. Also, I love that this place is affordable. I had never tried a sage latte. I will say this latte is now in my top 3 best lattes I've ever enjoyed and the latte art was absolutely beautiful! The flavor of sage was subtle yet elevated the experience. I will definitely be showing this place to my friends. I also ordered the pain de chocolat which was a beautiful chocolate croissant. The woman up front let me know all of the pastries are baked in house. THIS IS WHAT I MISS. There are so many coffee shops popping up but when you find a place that is passionate about their craft it makes a difference. I am personally not a fan of delivered bakery items in coffee shops. This was hands down the best chocolate croissant I've ever had. The chocolate was not too sweet, the croissant was beautiful and buttery with the most delicate sprinkle of confectioners sugar on top. The decor inside was beautiful, I loved the soft pinks and touches of gold throughout the retro feel. My only recommendation would be to incorporate some more live plants. This place is too beautiful for faux. The patio was also beautiful, it's simple yet stunning. I'm sad that they close at 4 because I did notice some string lights that I'm sure look beautiful at night. The bathroom is also beautiful, they had a lovely candle burning. Also, this place closes at 4 and they are pretty sharp on it which is completely understandable so if you arrive at 3 prepare to enjoy the space for about an hour. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back.

The location does not have plenty space for parking. It's a cute little bakery. Service is great. The homemade Chai latte is the best ever!!

Stopped by here for casual coffee with a coworker. The interior is beautiful and it was nice and quiet inside. They had a neat outdoor space in the back, but it was being rented for a private event. I was hoping they'd offer some unique or seasonal pastries, but nothing stood out to me so I went with their seasonal rose garden latte which the barista recommended. It honestly just tasted like a regular latte in my opinion, but it was good coffee at least. My coworker got their mermaid matcha and although it tasted decent, we could hardly taste the matcha in it. The space and drinks were beautiful though.

We had such a great experience here! We took our kids on a date after going to see the giant teddy bear statues. The pastry is top notch -- very flaky, yummy, and well baked. No complaints! Our kids were given ice cream to sample as they had just made a batch. They loved it and so did we! It was so sweet of them to offer. We felt very well taken care of. Very instagrammable patio but not a ton of shade on a hot day. We will absolutely be back!

This was the first time I've been to Sugar and Sage bakery, and it won't be my last! The barista was fantastic, unfortunately I did not get her name, but she's in one of my photos. She was happy and helpful and made great suggestions to help me make the right coffee choice. The guy that helped me place my order was also fantastic. I also didn't get his name, but he had an accent and was young and very helpful as well! The interiors are adorable and their back patio area is a hidden gem! It seems the day that I was there they might have had a Mom group in this area because they were quite a few moms and young ladies running around ...it was so cute! I can't wait to go back and try more items!

First of all, the Bishop Arts District itself is incredibly charming. Block after block of unique shops ranging from bookstores and bakeries to candle shops, candy stores, coffee spots, and little boutiques. It's exactly the kind of neighborhood I loveeeee exploring while traveling and if I lived in Dallas, I'd probably frequent this area often. As for The Wild Detectives, the concept alone immediately appealed to me...bookstore meets cafe meets bar meets restaurant. That combination will pretty much always grab my attention. I love to read, I love to eat. The space has a pretty relaxed, community oriented vibe, and during my Saturday morning/early afternoon visit, there were plenty of people working, reading, chatting, and hanging out both inside and on the patio. My one slight disappointment was that the bookstore side itself was smaller than I expected and didn't have quite as extensive a selection as I had imagined. That said, I still managed to leave with a few great additions for my ever growing TBR pile. Overall, this was a worthwhile stop and one I may revisit the next time I'm in Dallas.

This coffee shop has quietly become my Dallas work-week crush…read more It's conveniently close to the office I'm using while I'm here, but the real draw is the vibe. Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.
