I stopped by Palmieri just before closing. The store was clean, and the service was quick and friendly. I picked up the last two pastries available, and they were a little hard on the bottom, so I'd recommend visiting earlier in the day for the freshest selection. I came in this past weekend and ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and I wasn't quite happy with my latte. It lacked syrup and the espresso wasn't as forward as it usually is. I frequent the downtown location located in the farmers market and might have to just end up going to that location instead. You'd think Bishop Arts would be over saturated with coffee shops, but that really doesn't seem to be the case. Palmieri is very tiny, but it's got a few barstool height seats inside (great for people watching!) and a little outdoor space in the back. In addition to a full espresso menu, they offer a few sweet or savory Italian pastries and gelato. This is basically a ghost kitchen for their location in the farmers market. None of the food items are made on sight and in a lot of ways you can tell as the quality of the food item suffers. The service was ok and the ambiance ok. It's definitely not a place where you can get a coffee and snack and sit and read a book or chat with friend as there isn't anywhere to sit. The drip coffee was pretty good. I also got one of the cheese and tomatoe pastry's but it tasted a bit day old but had a good flavor. A must try for those who love freshly roasted coffee! The new cafe recently opened in Bishop Arts. We were told this is the second location for Palmieri. The original location is in the Dallas Farmers Market. The new cafe is tiny, but had a couple of chairs perfect for small groups or a quick coffee break (no more than 5 chairs though!). They had fresh pastries, gelato from scratch, and freshly roasted coffee beans. After the holiday rush, I had to get some coffee as a pick me up. Top notch Italian cafe. Nice and cozy atmosphere, almost intimate. The latte I order is great. Has the right amount of strongness to it. I went later in the evening so all the pastries and savory goods were sold out. I will have to come back! Beautiful ship in bishop to chill in the patio or inside on the ac. The coffee is one of the best in bishop and have great authentic options for Italian coffee lovers.
