Stopped by Tesoro earlier today and WOW -- definitely impressed. I had the OG chilaquiles with three eggs and they were absolutely incredible. Everything came out fresh, hot, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they really care about quality here. The coffee was also so good, and the customer service made the experience even better. My waitress was extremely knowledgeable, gave great personal recommendations from the menu, and made us feel very welcomed. The entire atmosphere was warm, inviting, and comfortable. We went to Tesoro Mexican and overall had a good experience. The food was solid. I ordered the tamales bowl, which was pretty good, and enjoyed it with a cup of coffee. My daughter had the chilaquiles, and she really liked them. The atmosphere was cute, clean, and had a cozy vibe, which made it a nice place to sit and enjoy the meal. The only downside was the long wait. It took about 70 minutes to be seated, which is understandable given how small the restaurant is, but it was still a bit much. I will start by saying the food is really good but this place has lots of potential. There are some things that I think would be great improving. To start off the plates cups for coffee are so beautiful, I love that they opted for traditional servware. However I don't understand why there is plastic silverware. Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and to say the least I was not disappointed at all. The vibes are so cute inside and the food was top notch. My husband found this place when shopping for records across the street and hasn't stopped talking about it since then, so we got up early this Sunday morning and headed over there to try to beat the crowds. What a wonderful, welcoming restaurant! I hadn't read any of the Yelp comments before we went, but my goodness aren't you people in need of a reality check? We walked in and were greeted and we were early enough to not have a wait. While we stood there waiting to order, I read their sign that basically let's you know that there may be tables available, but they will fill them according to the number of servers/staff available at the time. (I feel like the ones complaining would take the tables if offered and then complain because service was slow.) Once we were seated, we were checked on regularly and our service was impeccable. The food was delicious! Hubby is hooked on their chilaquilles and I had the chorizo con huevos and they were delicious. I wasn't crazy about the potatoes, but I'm that way most places with breakfast potatoes. (For the ones complaining about not having chips so you could eat the beans? We arrived on a Saturday morning at 10:30 am, understandably busy time, told it would be an hour to 90 min wait for 2. We decided to leave and try again another time. We returned a week later around 12:45 pm and were told a 30 minute wait for 2. We waited and got seated at 1:11 pm. Nobody acknowledged us, asked for our drink order and multiple employees walked past us. Another couple sat next to us about 5 mins after we did and pretty much immediately, a waitress came to them and took their order. Meanwhile we remained sitting and waiting. We flagged down an employee to ask for someone to take our order please and about 5 mins after that, someone finally came. On top of that, they offer complimentary peanuts and the peanuts were pretty much empty with old shells leftover in the bowl. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious and the ambiance is nicely decorated and beautiful. But it is disappointing that with such good food and beautiful decorations that the service has suffered. A simple acknowledgment is the bare minimum to offer someone who's spending their money on your business. I write this review not to be petty but to hopefully get someone's attention to make improvements. This isn't the first time I've been disappointed by Tesoro. It's been at least 2-3 times prior. I was so proud to see a restaurant with Zacatecas roots so I took my girlfriend here. After my experience, I was embarrassed. Although the food was delicious, this place is managed by inexperienced people that are obviously not reading the feedback from their reviews. We waited 1.5 hours for a seat and then another 30mins for food. They have signs that say they're hiring more waitresses and food runners when their waitresses and food runners interacted with us for a maximum of 3 minutes from the moment we ordered to when we left. They need more help in the kitchen to be able to service their clients. Food comes out like it's a video game. They bring out one plate at a time and there's no organization as to the order of which plate they do as they zig zag and fill tables in different orders. I had to wait 7 mins for my girlfriend to receive her meal after I received mine and if you're anything like me, I was raised to not eat until everyone receives their food at the table. Please please please focus on managing expectations given your wait times. Hire more help for your kitchen and invest in that kitchen. Bring out a table's full plates and not skip around. And preferably, ask for payment after one eats their food. It doesn't feel right to ask for a tip when I place an order after a long wait, it's very disconnected to the reality the customer is experiencing. Remember many people wait and save all week to try places like yours so for them to experience something like this ends up being the brand your restaurant gets known for. This place was delicious! I saw that it was hyped online so I was expecting it to be busy and or over hyped. I must say after reading the reviews I'm a little glad I went first then read them I would have been discouraged. The wait was about 25 minutes for my party of three one being a toddler. We waited and when we were seated we realized they had plenty of tables available which was odd. We did notice that the staff was very limited and the kitchen was tiny so we figured that was the reason. They also have a hiring sign at front so that makes sense. The wait for the food was a bit but again tiny kitchen so we were ok with it. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. The food was spectacular. I was hoping I didn't like it much because it is a bit of a drive for me but no I loved it. I got the birriaquiles and my mom got the special of flautas de pollo. The menu isn't huge and doesn't have a big variety it's pretty much the same thing with different toppings. I must say even though it's limited it is done very well everything was seasoned perfectly. I feel bad for those who had a bad experience but I hope they give it another try because to me it was worth it for sure. I hope they get extra help soon to accommodate more clients. read more

Me and my husband wanted to get to know the hype of this place after watching so many videos on TikTok. We arrived at the place at 11:47, lady in the front checked me in and told me that they had a 1hr 15 min wait, we taught that was a little too much but we decided to give it a try and wait. we saw that they have some empty tables outside but didn't offer any of those to us. After waiting in our vehicle I received the text message from the front desk saying that "they were ready for us" at 12:45 so we went inside and the girl in the front gave us the menus and told us to order and pay before giving us a table. We went ahead and ordered birriaquiles and a table number was assigned to us. Once sat down I noticed they have plenty of empty tables for such a long wait, but excited to try this place out. However, we started to get impatient after waiting 30 min of not having our food ready, my husband went to the front to ask for our food since we ordered something simple that shouldn't take that long to make (the sauce and chilaquiles chips were already made as well as beans and birria). Lady in the front said that every plate its prepared from scratch and mention that they have a very small kitchen and most of the orders were big. Anyways, we got our food after another 45 min and spend another 20 min eating before leaving the restaurant. My husband and I visited Sunday morning around 10:30ish, we waited in line for over 15 minutes, as you walkin there is a small lobby with 3 tables and a small bar, you order your food and you wait.... outside because the lobby inside is small. Outside there are about 8 tables, so you wait until one becomes available. We waited for over 35 minutes for our food. The staff was super friendly, I will give them that.
