I came here after a long day on the water. The overall price for everything was a bit pricey. Nonetheless I got nachos and 2 fish tacos. I did not really care for the nachos because it tasted kind of bland to me. However, their fish tacos were delicious and very flavorful. After I got shave ice which was right next to the taco stand. I believe they are the same ownership but not too sure. However, the shave ice was the perfect way to end a hot day. I got the Hawaiian style shave ice which included 3 flavors, and condensed milk and coconut shavings on top and vanilla ice cream at the bottom. read more

We were looking for a lunch spot and came up to this place. As a vegetarian with two daughters who are also vegetarian this place has many options for us. I ordered the enchiladas and they did not disappoint! It was different from our usual California spice but still amazing. There is enough seating for everyone and the service was great. I was so glad when this place opened! My favorite is the carnitas plate. Great pico de gallo. They have horchata, sandia Aqua Fresca, and rich, creamy flan. The quesadillas are addictive, as well! I get that this is basically a taco stand (no restrooms and horrible parking), but we asked if we could move an outdoor picnic table a few feet to be in the shade if we move it back, they said no. We had my elderly parents with us and my mom has Parkinson's. Then after spending almost $200 for the 11 of us, I asked if I could get a cup of ice, and a tiny 4oz cup was given not even half full. Sometimes the simplest-looking places have the best food. This place is a colorful shack with a Food Truck Vibe and shaded picnic tables outside in the breeze. Dont drive by too fast or you will miss it. The food was fresh and warm but I found that it really wasnt all too different from any taco place. It is the best in Waimea, Kauai and the kitchen looked clean. It was recommended by friends that live in that area. So I guess it's the best they got. I would go back and I must admit this is based upon 1 visit. Will be given it another shot. But actually, I could replicate & probably do better. OH! a dinner for a party of 4 cost me over $60. Worst meal of our trip. We stopped by here after spending a few hours in downtown Hanapēpē. For $4-$5 you can get 1 taco made with with less than 1oz of meat and some sad sauce. Definitely a must go to if you're in Hanapepe, food is delicious! My wife and I went twice while on the island. The chef is very friendly and is from my home town. (Zanca)! Please support his restaurant and get the Al pastor tacos, or the carnitas tacos. He makes a delicious fish taco as well with Mahi Mahi. read more

The best part about this place, hands down, is the food. Which works out beautifully, as that should be the case for every place. We stopped by here, wanting only a taco for one person, and ended up ordering for everyone. Their tacos are heavenly and savory. The combinations of flavors are balanced to a perfection and compliment each other so well. You must not take any ingredient out. Being a picky eater myself, I was hesitant to eat the shrimp taco (it contained cilantro sauce, which I usually despise) but it turned my world completely. Every flavor flowed together like a river and crashed into your taste buds like waterfalls. It was the best taco I've ever eaten in my life. Their burritos were impeccable, as well. Underwhelmed. Guy manning the place was friendly, food was cooked quickly, but it was incredibly overpriced and under-flavored. The tortillas especially were so lackluster it was depressing. The fact that I spent over $50 on 10 tiny, unimpressive tacos was frankly embarrassing. Just freaking spectacular. Everything was so fresh and flavorful but didn't taste greasy at all. The California Burrito was just like the ones I get from home. The fish tacos were grilled (yay!) and the quality of the fish was phenomenal! The ambiance was also very cute. No frills, little outdoor picnic tables. Very Beachy vibe! This was #2 in my top food of Kauai! We ended up at this food truck almost by mistake. We were looking for another place, parked the car, saw this good-looking place with an over-50 couple having a late lunch - it was around 3 pm - and the male customer realized we were trying to decide if it was worth to stop or go on and find the place we were looking for, when he shouted "It's good! We always come here". And he was definitely right! My vegetarian husband loved his burrito and I had the best fish taco salad I'll ever eat. We went back the last day to take-away the same taco salad for me and something different for him and have lunch on the beach since we didn't have the time in the days before.
