Greet location to get lunch if you're going to Salt Pond. Definitely get the fish tacos and relleno. I'd ask for extra green sauce if you like your food spicy. Carne Asad a fries are good too but I'd suggest to eat this at the location instead of taking it with you to the beach as it can get dry quickly. Overall quality food the four stars is for the Carne Asada tacos and fries, was overcooked in my opinion. We also got the enchiladas which had a nice crust but again the asada was overcooked for me. We used to live down the road from the Hanapepe location and inevitably got hooked on the consistency, quick service and flavor. Our family loves Mexican fare and the simplicity in each dish is so appreciated. Amazing chicken burritos- ceviche- tacos, guacamole etc. when we do a quick Kokee one night camp trip it's perfect to order on way grab n go. A warmed burrito by a camp fire is heaven. They put this salsa of theirs in tiny containers.... I usually tell them I need 20. Order plenty! read more

Wow! That was some outstanding Mexican food! Me and my husband just finished hiking up Waimea canyon and stopped here for dinner and we are so glad we did. Every single thing we ate (carne asada chimichanga, shrimp tacos, chips & guac, horchata, churros) tasted super fresh, flavorful, and simple, as Mexican should taste. This place was recommended by David Timko of Kauai Sky Dive. Since it was around noon we finished our skydiving, we decided to go there. Price is definitely on the "high side" for tacos. We had "shrimp, carnita and fresh fish tacos" and a drink each. The total was over $32! We sat on one of the outside tables. The amount of guacomole. sour cream and the salsa on each taco was a joke. They gave us so little. When I asked for more salsa, the cashier gave us more "hot sauce" instead. Obviously, she does not know the difference between "salsa" and "hot sauce." The "fresh fish" taco did not taste fresh - it was dry and hard.... Righ before we left, one of us found out that bottled drinks we purchased were both had expired. One expired on 6/25/12 and my drink expired on 7/16/12. Today is Aug.3,12. I am sure we can find better tacos on Kauai than Paco's Tacos. We will not be coming back to this place. read more

Love all the choices for tacos. When I asked for good tacos, everyone has said Paco's tacos. We tried the chicken quesadilla, fish tacos, a chicken taco, and the beef taquitos. It was all gone in 15 minutes. Guacamole was great! Probably the best I have had in quite some time! read more

I used to be a fan of Pacos tacos but the last couple of months the service and portions had gotten REALLY BAD. The crew that's working the late shift are not consistent with their servings or doesn't know what comes with the food. I ordered carne asada burrito. (This comes with meat, pico de gallo and guacamole). I've asked to add rice, sour cream---guacamole and pico de gallo is missing on the burritos. On a recent trip home to Kaua`i, I finally had my first taste of Pacos Tacos. A friend of mine said her husband begs to eat there at least twice a week, and she wanted to share the experience with me. I am glad she did. I've been drooling over facebook pictures of their food for months, and let me tell you, the pictures don't do justice. The food is WAY BETTER than any of those pictures tell. We ordered a chicken chimichanga with beans and rice, a steak quesadilla, an order of taquitos, and a Horchata. We had another Horchata and steak chimichanga ordered to go. We took a seat under the tent on a white picnic bench and enjoyed a game of "who's that?" as we watched local traffic go by. The wait wasn't long at all, but everything was nice and hot!! Table manners and proper ettiquette were not even a consideration, everything looked so good, I dug in. Quickly cutting into my chimichanga, the "shell" was nice and flaky not greasy at all. The mix of flavors blended well. i reached across and took a taquito, dipped into their hot sauce....YUM!! It didn't take long and I was biting into a piece of my friends quesadilla. Oh and the nicest surprise, the Horchata.......it tastes like CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH cereal with milk. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was like dessert in a cup. After having some shaved ice in Waimea, we stopped here for some fish tacos. Yeah, we had dessert first before having the entree. The fish taco was delicious. We enjoyed eating eat while it rained heavily. Fortunately, they had some sort of tarp canopy which prevented us from getting too soaked. The service was fine and the food came out quick. We would stop by again cause it is conveniently located off the highway. Our only complaint is that they are a bit too overpriced. It costed almost $5 for the fish taco, and it wasn't even that big. I've had tons of authentic tacos in Cali., from restaurants, trucks & friends' homes, none have ever had guacamole! I didn't like that! Not a fan of it, I scooped it off to the side. I ordered shrimp tacos for lunch at The Shirmp Station at Waimea, which was very good. Due to that good experience, I again ordered shrimp tacos at Paco's Tacos on my way back to hotel in the evening, but the experience was quite disappointed. The price was high, yet the quantity was meager. It's like a rip-off. read more
