A Hole in the wall called "Da crack" with a painting over the window of a dude playing a guitar…read moresitting with his back toward you, and the crack of his butt showing might be a bit off putting and pretty hilarious! Although you may miss this place as you drive by because it literally is a hole in the wall of a little strip mall of sorts you have to look for it. But as that description goes, typically the food found in a "hole in the wall" it is usually very delicious and they did not disappoint! The lady who took our orders was very friendly. I let her know that I was gluten-free which they were able to accommodate. We have the taco bowl or burrito bowl or a "bowl" as it's listed. You first choose burrito, bowl, or tacos, then choose your meat, which is ground beef, chicken, Carne Asada, fish, which happened to be shark today. Then you choose if you want sour cream and cheese, etc., guacamole, then choose Mexican, brown, or regular rice and then what type of beans, black or pinto. Then you choose your sauce, jalapeño mild up to very hot and then pico de gallo. Then you can choose your jarritos drink or the one canned guava drink. You get a size nice portion in a paper bowl covered with foil and it is delicious & seasoned to perfection. So they did not disappoint! Parking is tight to be mindful of those backing out. Will return before leaving Kauai.

I ordered the chicken burrito and my fiancé ordered the burrito bowl with fish. The bowl was served in one of those tiny Dixie paper bowls..for $17! He ate it all and was still hungry. My burrito had way more food than his bowl. Unfortunately their Mexican rice is really not it...the grains of rice are huge and flavorless. The only thing that saved my burrito was the shredded chicken. It was moist and flavorful, and they didn't skimp on the amount they put in the burrito which I truly appreciate since taking any bite without the meat was super bland. No seating available, this is all to go style. Parking is easy since there's a parking lot right in front. It's easy to locate and is situated next to a small grocery store. I recommend you go grab some banana bread from the grocery store for dessert, you won't regret it. All in all, I think there is better Mexican food on Kaua'i for the same price or less.

The idea of Mucho Aloha Brewhouse came about during a backyard BBQ in Seal Beach, CA that made its way across the Pacific Ocean and landed on the island of Kaua'i. As a tribute to celebrating among family and friends with great beer and food, a welcoming gathering place was created for everyone to come together and share stories. Would I find much aloha at this brewhouse!? PURCHASE(S) Mucho Aloha Brewhouse Lowdown Lager Beer 2.7% ABV 16floz Draft ($4.00 HH): Bright amber color, dank malty aroma, light body, dank malty sweet watery flavor, crisp finish, and dank malty aftertaste. Way too light and watery for me. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=ao_00rfkLvpprP7tqtocKw 4pc Loco Wings Hot ($12.00 HH): At $3.00/ea, these were small, had minimal meat, and weren't as hot as I'd hoped. The tortilla chips and salsa were fine. I was very disappointed, especially at nearly $9.00/taco. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=RywnYkqzivVoxLrTGNhFqQ Mucho Aloha Brewhouse Pineapple Xpress Hazy IPA Beer 6.0% ABV 16floz Draft ($10.00): Bright hazy amber color, fruity pineapple tropical aroma, light body, fruity hoppy pineapple flavor, smooth finish, and hoppy pineapple tropical aftertaste. SERVICE Warmly greeted by a friendly female and male behind the bar, I took a moment to browse the beer and food menu, then shortly ordered, my beer was ready immediately, I was given a table number, and I found a place out on the patio. Minutes later, a young man delivered my food. There was a self-serve water station outside next to the trash station where you dumped your trays and such. It was all chill - mahalo! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I took the bus, so this wasn't an issue for me. Otherwise, there appeared to be some onsite parking with spots along the main drag of Koloa Rd. and other side streets - 'nuff said. Furry family members were allowed outside! Daily happy hour specials (2pm-5pm) and almost certain nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more was available. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $98.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). We parked on the dirt next to the skincare clinic--make sure to be past their sign/not inside the clinic's parking lot. Taco Libre is located in a lot with other food trucks, including Aloha Always which has the best açaí bowls. The lady working at the truck was super sweet and friendly, she recommended half al pastor and half carne asada for the burritos, and they did not miss! The tortilla had a beautiful grill on them but still soft, the cheese inside the burrito was ooey gooey and the meat was moist and flavorful with no fatty/chewy bits. The burrito was a great size and served with side of rice and beans. Both their red sauce and green sauces were delicious, I didn't find them spicy but some might. They also had pickled red onions and pickled jalapeños by the sauces and they were a tasty addition to our meal. Plenty of seating available all around the lot, Taco Libre has its own family style seating right next to their truck. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes from this food truck! We were seated directly under a industrial fan used for the heat, but it was like 59 degrees so we asked if it could be turned off. We were told they can only turn it off it they turn off all the lights. So we asked if we could be moved to another table out of the way of the fan and were told no, this was the only table available. We sat down and the server immediately came over and asked for our drink order. We asked for a drink menu, so she brought one for five people. Then she stood at the bar staring at us until we decided. The drinks were delivered quickly and we're actually good. Next came the food order. Four menus for five people. Order placed for one taco salad, twelve street tacos, all chicken or steak, and one burrito. We asked if we could have chips and salsa, guacamole, and queso dip. One bowl of chips for five people, which we paid for two refills. Salsa was canned, guacamole was not fresh, and queso was bland. Taco salad was OK. Street tacos weren't what we expected and didn't have limes. They tasted ok and the meat was fresh. Burrito was messed up and they tried to lie and say that's how burritos are served and the green sauce was chilis. We found out it was cooked and served with ground pork. This was not advertised. Overall, they seemed bothered by us and we're talking about us in Spanish to each other. One of our party was fluent in Spanish. When we left, there were three people there with badges looking at some paperwork from the bar, which was very suspicious.

We sat on the patio by the pool and luckily the umbrella was large enough to block the sun! The food all tasted great. The crab dip with 6 or 8 pieces of toasted focaccia was high quality with real crab not surimi. The wedge salad was a large piece with crisp bacon, candied pecans, grape tomato halves and a tasty dressing. It only needed some red onion to make it perfect. The calamari were crispy but the portion size was too small and the pieces of calamari were too small so the ratio of crust to fish was too high.
