Reviewing this place after my third visit and so far have not had a bad experience. Came here on a Friday night and wasn't too busy. Service was very friendly and helpful. in my experiences at Thai places when you ask for a 5/10 on the spicy level it can either be very hot or mild. in this case it was more on the mild side. asked for more spices and was brought out promptly. Ordered the Crab Ragoons as an App and the Roasted Duck Curry for an entree. The ragoons are crispy with a lot of filling. I've been on a curry kick lately and this hit the spot for me. Tom Kha soup is delicious. The golden tofu not so much. Got take out and the order was piping hot when received. The soup came with a pretty big container of ride which went perfectly with the sweet tang of the soup. Wanted a little something to go with so ordered he golden tofu appetizer. It does NOT travel well. Maybe it was the heat, moisture and time between the restaurant and home but the tofu pieces were stuck together. The rice flour coating congealed into a sticky tacky mess and I just couldn't eat it. I'm not one to waste food so it's a big deal for me to throw out the whole darn dish. I am typically quite picky when it comes to Thai food; and when I tell you this has been the best Thai restaurant I've had so far!! We got the pad Thai with shrimp, pad see ewe with chicken, and Hawaiian fried rice, thai tea and mango sticky rice. EVERYTHING was phenomenal. I wish the server checked up on us a bit more, but the quality of food made up for it! The 'hot' spice level was too hot for me but the 'medium' level was just right. read more

I really like that they bring the soup for lunch before you even order and that it's Thom Yum. The mixed veggie dish has a darker than usual sauce with it, but the veggies are great. Thai hot is actual nice and hot. Fresh ingredients and great service. Highly recommend. read more

Yes, yes, yes!! I have been focusing on supporting small Asian-owned businesses and this was a home run. Ordered for pick up on Saturday night and it was so good! I had crab rangoons and the cashew chicken (mild). Ordering online was a breeze and the staff was so kind when I went to pick up. I visit up in the area twice a week. I decided to grab dinner as I was not thinking about cooking when I got home. I did not want the usual bar fare which was surrounding in area and found Pad Thai. The recommendations for the Crab Rangoon was interesting because for a restaurant to be known for its appetizer is pretty amazing in itself. I usually go for basil fried rice, but today I felt like Pad See Ewe. I do have my favorite restaurant for Pad See Ewe and wonder if Pad Thai could live up to my expectations. I am please to say that Pad Thai did. Meaty pieces of chicken was very present in my entree and the flavors were spot on. I had enough to have leftovers for the next day of my entree but not my Crab Rangoon. After eating the Crab Rangoon I wish I had ordered another serving but it is not inexpensive enough for me to do that. The Crab Rangoon is so shockingly good that I have to hold myself back from ordering an order each time I am in the neighborhood! They are light, fluffy, cooked to perfection with the right amount of sweetness. I have not had Crab Rangoon like what Pad Thai offers anywhere else. The remind me of miniature cream filled elephant ears. I dream of making these at home. Service was great and my server was very friendly. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with Pad Thai, what a great addition to the Carmel Arts District. I ordered the mild Pad Thai lunch special that came with a spring roll and soup. Loved the price point for a pretty speedy lunch, not a fan of the coconut soup, but my Pad Thai was absolutely delicious. Excellent spot right on the Monon and next to Scotty's. My wife and I stopped in for dinner while the kid was with her aunt for the night. This is the second stop at this restaurant. We started with the chicken satay. It was under seasoned and dry. Needed a lot of sauce to eat. The sauces were very good. My wife got the mussamun curry and really liked it. I took a couple of bites and liked it until I got a bite of pineapple. I got the pad thai again because I could not remember if I liked it previously. It was ok, but way too sweet. There were very few bean sprouts too. I gave the leftovers to my wife. A new restaurant in Carmel's Main Street district is nothing terribly out of he ordinary. A new Thai restaurant on the other hand is very unusual, so I was really excited to try Pad Thai. I visited with a friend (whose review can also be seen here) and had a very nice first experience. My massaman curry was absolutely delicious, though not the best I've ever had. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it without pineapple but a server informed me that they make each dish to order- great surprise, as I was dubious. Another surprise, as it wasn't mentioned on the menu, at least that I saw, was a small cabbage, carrot, and chopped peanut salad of sorts. I'm new to Thai food so if it has a proper name, forgive me. As far as service, I was very impressed. We had one specific server but everyone there was incredibly attentive to our table and clearly concerned with our experience. Unfortunately not all new restaurants are so concerned with first impressions. My one and only complaint is the atmosphere. From a decorative standpoint, Pad Thai is very appealing. Fairly modern style with comfortable tables, somewhat minimal wall adornment, and a very easy, clean flow to the dining room is great. However, the complete lack of music severely detracted from this ambiance. Not only were there several other tables in the restaurant, all of whom we were very aware of due to the near silence, but we could hear a radio station playing from the kitchen. Obviously I wasn't expecting a private booth but it is somewhat uncomfortable to fine and feel that your entire conversation with your companion can be heard by everyone else in the restaurant. I hope that my only complaint is simply due to the recent opening of the establishment and still very much encourage any interested yelpers to quickly check out Pad Thai. With a decent bit of music to round out the ambiance, I look forward to returning to Pad Thai and updating a 5 Star review! read more

One of my favorite spots for lunch! They have great lunch specials and my favorite is the yellow curry! I come here with my toddler for lunch dates and they are so great with us. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that if you go at dinner time, the same dishes are more expensive and it seems like you get less food. I'd come here for date night if I could get past the idea that I'm paying $4-5 more and I don't get an egg roll, cup of salad, and cup of soup with my meal like I'd get at lunch time. read more

A friend and I visited Pad Thai around 8:15 tonight for dinner. The restaurant had about 4 other tables that were eating while we were there. The atmosphere was very quiet and it was pretty easy to hear what everyone else was saying. The place could benefit from some music to improve the vibe and make it so people don't have to whisper to one another. A basic sound system and a good satellite radio station would be a worthwhile investment. In terms of the food, everything was great. I tried the red curry chicken and my friend had the massaman curry chicken. We both really enjoyed our meals. Everything was very fresh and the portion size was perfect for one person. My dish may have been a little light on the quantity of chicken, but there is very little room for complaint overall. The servers all seemed very friendly and attentive. It was apparent that they cared about what was going on. In summary, the food was great, the service was good, and the atmosphere is certain to improve after a few minor tweaks. We have visited this restaurant numerous times for both lunch and dinner, with each time just as delicious as the last! I didn't even realize this place was here until a few years ago after leaving another nearby establishment and I'm glad I noticed it. I'm very much a creature of habit and once I find a dish I love, it is difficult for me to stray. Fortunately for me, it's never a disappointment! I order the beef and broccoli meal and it includes both a very generous serving of white rice and entrée, and a rather delicious roll with sweet dipping sauce. I did venture out and try the Thai fried rice with chicken for dinner tonight when we ordered take-out and it was more than satisfying! Definitely enough for two people to share. The lunch special includes a salad, soup, and spring roll. I order their Thai Hot heat level, and don't think its over the top spicy. On a recent trip to visit friends in Carmel, we made our way to the quaint little downtown walking area to listen to some live music and catch a bite to eat. This new Thai place had just opened up a few weeks back and we decided to give it a try...good thing we did! All of the dishes our group shared were good... we had Chicken Satay, Pad Thai and Tempura Shrimp as some of our main courses. But I have to tell you, quite possibly the best dish we ate was the Thai fried rice made with (really!) fresh vegetables and a wonderful sauce. Overall, a very tasty Thai restaurant. It is awesome to see a Thai restaurant open along the Monon, especially one as nice and tasty as Pad Thai. The food is some of the best Thai I have had in Indiana. The spice levels are on a 1-5 scale and seem to be accurate. The dishes are very flavorful and the texture is dead on. Prices are a little higher than other local places, but the location and taste make up for it. The decor is very comfortable while still being pretty modern and not too cluttered. Might have just had the best Chinese food at a Thai restaurant that I've ever enjoyed. After a busy day in Indy, we chose to stop at Pad Thai in the Carmel Arts District due to the consistent Yelp reviews. Although a little difficult to find, if you are not from Carmel, and not real comfortable on a very hot and humid late summer evening; the food helped to overcome the lack of climate control. We ordered the ground sausage dumplings and crab Rangoon. The dumplings were very good BUT the Rangoons, as has been reviewed numerous times were just amazing! The filling was sweet and light, the pastry was perfectly deep fried. I ordered the Orange Chicken and fried rice. The chicken was clearly cut from chicken breast and deep fried to perfection with a tangy orange sauce with a hint of heat. The fried rice was just perfectly fried without the clumpy consistency of other fried rice. My wife enjoyed Pad Kra Prow with chicken. The vegetables were wonderfully fresh and very nicely prepared. First time there today, during the Carmel Arts Fair. Pad Thai is situated right across from Bub's Burgers, literally right on the Monon Trail. We sat outside, and got an immediate greeting and seating. The weather was perfect, and they allow dogs/pets in the outdoor seating section. The Crab Rangoon appetizer was phenominal and completely exceeded expectations. Probably the freshest Crab Rangoon I've ever had, with a sweet & sour dipping sauce. We then moved onto the main dish, and as the name implies, we chose the Pad Thai. I got mine "medium hot", which refers to the spiciness level. The chicken was very fresh, and overall this dish was way above average. The pad Thai at this restaurant is the closest I have gotten to the taste of pad Thai from my favorite restaurant, Lemongrass. Great great great great! I went with my friend after school around 4:30 and we were the only ones at the restaurant. Ordered original pad Thai with veggies. The medium spice was decently spicy but tolerable. Think hot Cheetos-esque spiciness. It was definitely some of the best pad Thai I've had. Order came out in about 10 min despite us being the only customers but they gave us a starting for free salad so we weren't starving. We also ordered the Thai Tea and that might have been the highlight of the meal. It looked extremely glamorous and tasted like a sweet milk tea. It also came with a flower shaped straw topper. This was my second visit to Pad Thai. That means the first round was pretty satisfactory. We returned on a warm, summer Friday night. It was beautiful out, and being right in downtown of the Arts and Design District in Carmel, the patio was the only choice for seating. (Not really, you could totally sit inside, but why would you want to? The sun was setting, the warm area was fantastic and it's just that time of the year when everyone loves being outside, yanno.) They promptly brought ice water out as soon as we sat down, followed by the Thai ice teas after we ordered them. My gal pal and I split the pad thai, and added tofu and veggies to the order. The food took a reasonable amount of time, and we got so many noodles for our buck. The servings here are always spot on for lunch or dinner. As another Yelper mentioned, the sauce to noodle ratio truly is, as she said, "*magic*". Only disclaimer is that the pad thai does not come with steamed rice as it does at other places, so if you want your noodles on a bed of rice, be sure to order some rice with your meal! The parking garage right around the corner, and the parking is free for the public, so that's a plus. I definitely plan to be back around for another meal here. read more
