He even said had he known we were using them that day he would have met us at the beach! He had them rinsed when we got there and showed us how to inflate/deflate/and put everything on them and pack them up. They still have 9 months of a 1 year warranty left so he told us to let him know if there are any issues. He did not have to offer anything like he did. Most people would have just handed the boards over and took the money. I would 100% recommend Sam and his rentals to anyone!

Five hours later, I was charged an additional $25 for a "child seat"--which I did not rent or use. We specifically asked about pricing for the Rad bike when we arrived, so this charge makes no sense. The same thing happened to two of my friends--they were charged an additional $75 and $50 hours later, also labeled as "child seats." When one of them called to ask about the charge, she was dismissed and told, "you're not that special," . Collectively, we spent nearly $500 that day, only to be hit with unexpected charges that were never disclosed or agreed to. To make matters worse, I am a returning customer. We rented bikes here last summer, and I've brought several visiting families here as well. We own a home in Incline and visit multiple times a year. I mentioned we were from San Diego--perhaps they assumed we were just tourists and wouldn't return. We've all filed chargebacks, and unfortunately, you've lost our future business. Excellent trip! We took a half-day rafting tour down the Truckee River. It was mostly Class I, some…read moreII and a couple of Class III rapids. So much fun! Our guide was knowledge, skilled and very friendly. The meeting location is in Squaw Valley. After about 30 minutes of filling out paperwork, we took a 15-20 minute van ride to the drop in spot. The actual rafting was about 5-6 miles and took 2 1/2 hours. It's well worth it! The views are beautiful, and the rapids are a lot of fun. The half-day Truckee tour is pretty good for kids. Make sure they can swim and aren't afraid of water. Most of the rapids aren't too scary, but they should still be careful. After the trip, they provided water and sodas.

If you leave from the Squaw Valley location, which everyone on our trip did, you will encounter chaos. They want you to be there at 7:00 AM. Get there on time to wait around for about 30-45 minutes while everyone stands in line to fill out the paperwork and pay. There is nothing provided to eat or drink and talking with some of the other people on the trip, most of us didn't have anything to eat or if they did it was very minimal. The ride to the put-in spot was 2 hours away, the second hour being very bumpy with a lot of hairpin turns. When we asked the representative on the phone during our research phase of finding the right trip to go on, he told us it was about an hour. The ride back was a bit quicker, although we were a lot later than what was expected. The guide in charge wanted to wait to eat lunch because of the extensive flat, slow part of the river. Great idea, although when we finally stopped, about 2:00, we were so hungry we could hardly stand it. Oh, they provided some trail mix before lunch. Our guide was great. He was very helpful and explained everything well. He was very strict about safety, and very knowledgeable about the river and every rapid. Lastly, they tell you to leave anything you aren't taking in the raft in the van you came in. It will be safe. Well, not true. When we returned to the van our stuff was all over the floor. Clothes, sunscreen, etc. The driver used the van during the day and obviously wasn't too cautious about the items we had all left for safe keeping. The cold beer at the end of the trip after we unloaded the rafts was WONDERFUL!

I and two family members had the pleasure of riding with Uprising in August on two different…read moreoccasions. It was the first paraglide for all three of us, we had varying degrees of nerves, and we're so glad we did it. We started with a brisk 20 minute walk up the hill carrying a pack. They do a good job of chatting with their riders, not only because they seem genuinely interested in getting to know people, but it probably helps them gauge who needs a break on the hike. The view from the top is worth the hike, even before you jump off. I did a tandem with Tomas and he did well to manage my expectations. He explained what was going to happen well before we were strapped together and running off the side of a perfectly good mountain. Knowing things ahead of time helped reduce my anxiety. Also, because he was so calm and thorough, it created confidence that this was going to go well. Once we were airborne he gave me the option of flying, explained anything I wanted to know about the mechanics of what he was doing, or he was fine just letting me enjoy the view and the wind in my ears. It's amazing how peaceful it is when you're up there, I can see how people would get hooked on this. It's a great vantage point to see just how blue-green Lake Tahoe is, and it was fun to watch other paragliders going past us. We rode the thermals, just like a bird, until it was time for our perfect landing at Kings Beach.
