I have a soft spot for Padriac's. Various nights out in my 20s with the gang, a good friend who met her now-husband there, one particularly memorable lunch with my best-ever boss after we lost a sale. Yes, it can be a very frat-tastic place, but it's still solid in my book. Good bar-type food, from the chicken soup to the sandwiches. Fries are mostly average, of that thicker-cut variety that brings some a little chewy and others over-done. Service is generally ok, especially if it's nice and you can sit on the patio, or if you sit at the actual bar. I'm not over in Smynings that often, but it's a solid spot when I am. read more

Yesterday our office ordered lunch from here and I got the "fresh catch" salad which comes with grilled salmon over mixed greens. I didn't know one could mess up a salad as bad as this--it really was probably the worst salad I've ever had. Half of the greens were old and wilted. How they think it's okay to give that to their customers is beyond me. I was busy picking out all the bad lettuce that I was left with about half left. I also expected a nice fillet of grilled salmon but the salmon was broken up into small chunks and very overcooked. I've never seen salmon in chunks/cubes like that before. The salmon was very under seasoned and way overcooked. Even though I didn't dine in, theres absolutely nothing good to say about this place because the quality of their food shows how little they appreciate & value ingredients and the customers. read more

The atmosphere is very inviting and a great place to spend an evening with friends. My first time in on a Friday evening that had live music. Not a band only a singer and his guitar. I must say he should be out on tour and not in a local establishment. I do not know his name since I am visiting friends in the area. This was July 17th for those locals that my know who I am referring to. Awesome, unique voice one could listen to for hours. The atmosphere, the service, and entertainment top notch, but the food we ordered not so much. I saw many burgers go by and thought that may have been a much better choice. We ordered two sets of the chicken tacos, chicken enchilada, and the Gouda tots. The tots were good but one definitely needed the ranch or other dipping sauce since eating them as they were seemed quite dry. The chicken tacos were made on a double layer of corn tortillas, some chicken and a lot of finely chopped lettuce, tomato, little avocado and a bowl of spicy salsa on the side. We had to ask for sour cream which made it much better. They were nothing to write home about. The enchilada seemed quite small in comparison to other restaurants for the price and also not a dish that stood out. These dishes were good but I would recommend trying something else. read more

Great ambiance, outdoor dining available, service has been hit and miss, bartender has always been quick. Clean, social distancing is going on, they have high tops, low tops, booths and bar seats. We recommend trying the lobster nachos they are the most noteworthy item here in our opinion! Menu has a wide variety and is different depending which meal you are eating. Pricing in the fair-medium price range for the quality of food, I feel its worth it! Presentation has always been nice as well! This is a place we always try to visit when we are in town! read more

We stopped in to Padriac's late on a Monday because we wanted a bite and saw the Yelp deal on the handy Yelp app. $10 for $20 worth of goodies? Yeah, we can do that. Trivia had just ended, the Braves game was on (loudly), and we settled in to a gigantic booth. The waitress was super perky and greeted us and recited the specials for the evening. I was pleased to see they had Red Stripe Light for a mere $3: hooray! The menu is upscale bar food with nicer than normal options, like the tomato caprese salad I chose. It was fine, pretty much what you expect at a bar. My man's gouda tots looked, um, fried. A little bit of a hiccup when we went to use the Yelp deal. We had paid, waitress had taken our money, written down the code, and then came back and said we had to spend at least $30 to redeem it. What the what? There was absolutely nothing in the deal's terms and conditions that mentioned a minimum tab. We reluctantly ordered another round at the waitress' suggestion, as she said it'd cover it. Well, turns out we were still $3 short, and knowing I'd likely not be back here to use the deal at a later date, we paid for $3 worth of air. Awesome. I'm really leaning toward a 2 here due to the Deal issues, but I know that's not commonplace. Just be wary if you're planning on using one. read more

It was a nice place. High end Bar Food. They had Music Trivia going on when I was there, people were enjoying themselves but it wouldn't have bothered you, not rowdy loud. I stopped here becauae years ago I would stop when staying in Vinings for Sprint by the Mall and it isn't the same place...but it's better for dinner. I remember an Island Bar with smoking because they didn't allow under 18, it's not that place anymore....or maybe I am remembering another Padriacs.. .in the Atlanta area. First off i'd say the 4 stars is for goin in the evenings/ night and not during the day for lunch. At night or after work the crowd gathers here to unwind, meet up and socialize with new and current friends, and to play a little golf on the arcade. You get your draft beer and you just unwind with good company. Great feeling! During the day when i've been, it's only been us and the bartender at lunch time. We both had cheeseburgers and fries and honestly Mcdonalds could have done better, and I don't even like Mcdonalds so that says alot. I would recommend checking it out in the evenings; Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are good nights to go. It has an old school pub feel to it, the bathrooms are clean, but you've gotta have alot of patience if your standing up because service at the bar can take a minute due to how crowded it can become and you'll always have someone bumping into you. And I didn't come here to drink and mingle. We were hungry and wanted a new place to eat dinner, unfortunately we decided to come here. They have a very limited yet expensive food menu. The food tastes bad. Really bad. In fact, I never thought something can be too spicy and too bland at the same time. My wife had a similar experience with her food. I was so disappointed. Normally, I would finish what is put in front of me. But this was probably the first time I just wanted to just stop eating and leave. We wanted get out of this place so fast. Also, we spent around $35 on our meals. That did not justify the quality of food we just ate. We could've went to Willy's next door and had a more satisfying meal for half the price. For hanging out and drinks, this place might not be bad. For food, head somewhere else. Decided to check out this Bills bar on football Sunday. I didn't know how crowded it would get so arrived 30 minutes before the game started. There was basically no one there. This worked in my favor as I was able to get a seat at the bar in front of the big TV. Kim was the bartender and provided great service. Closer to game time, people started rolling in and she kept her efficiency. They have several beer specials - not sure if all the time or just during games. Wow, I must have gone on a good night because I didn't have any of the problems that everyone else mentioned. We went on Fri night and had an opportunity to experience the 1 man band "John Amoroso". John alone made my 1st time visit to Padriac's most enjoyable. So enjoyable we're planning to go back to hear him perform Feb 15th. We ordered 3 apps and 2 out of 3 were outstanding. You must try the crab, artichoke, and spinach dip. It was the best I've had and I like that they opted to serve bread instead of chips. The fish bites were excellent as well with a light batter and spicy dip to give it just the right complement. The cajun shrimp was good as well but I would say it was our least favorite. It was good but not great. We cashed in on the $10 for $20 Yelp deal with absolutely no problems at all. So I think all of the people who complained about using the deal were heard because it was a flawless experience for us. I would definitely go back again and I recommend not being discouraged from some of the bad reviews here. Give 'em a chance. read more

I wasn't impressed and am confused as to what their concept is: Irish or regular restaurant? I've driven by Padriac's tons of times going to the Publix across the street, but haven't stopped in until this past weekend. We were looking for a smaller place to watch a football game, and Padriac's seemed to be off-the-radar enough for us to get seats and some food. We managed to find a spot at the bar with a decent view of the TV. This was after we waited awkwardly by the abandoned hostess stand. Apparently, they don't have a hostess (or didn't that night) and I probably waited 10 minutes for an already busy server to acknowledge me. Either have a full time hostess, or get rid of the stand/sign altogether. Anyway, we sat at the bar and had mediocre service. The bartenders seemed to have a lot of regulars they were fond of, and were just blah with everyone else. No enthusiasm, just going through the motions. Granted, the bar was crowded and the two girls were working hard serving everyone during a pretty major prime time college football game, but still. They didn't seem happy to encounter anyone who wasn't one of their regulars. After we got some beer (reasonably priced, by the way), I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad to offset the pizza we had earlier that day, and boyfriend had chicken tacos. The salad was good, and exactly what I'd expect for a CCS. Except for it had some weird tomatoes on it. The menu description says "roasted tomatoes" but they were this funky gray/brown color and didn't look appetizing at all. Boyfriend enjoyed his tacos, and they pile enough toppings on there for four tacos instead of two. We could have split them if we wanted to. The rest of the menu seemed really random: meatloaf, burgers, wings, chicken cordon bleu (that's not breaded), and other stuff. I was under the impression that Padriac's is an Irish bar, but the menu has nothing Irish on it. And the decor isn't Irish, just random sports bar stuff in a dark, heavy restaurant. I'm just really confused as to what this place is supposed to be. Also, some prices are a little high in my opinion. Oh, and their "Gulf Coast Fish Bites" aren't made with Gulf seafood. It's a misnomer and should be renamed or taken off the menu. Blasphemy to name something after the Gulf Coast without making sure it's somewhat authentic. Overall, I wasn't impressed and probably won't be back. I'll be in the area for Einstein's or Willy's, but don't anticipate coming back to Padriac's. The only thing that saved this place was their smoke-free interior. read more

It is sad to see a place that we enjoyed once to get such an appalling review compared from the last time.. and all because of the SERVICE. Whoever waited on us was slow... really slow... I mean so slow we must have stayed an extra 45 minutes to an hour waiting on our waitress to come back to our table. That is a looong time folks to not have service. I am so upset with this restaurant I almost dont want to write a review. So to keep in simple: Not only was our waitress slow, but when we told her that we are going to use Yelp coupon (courtesy of my parents buying it for us as gifts since we enjoyed the last visit here so much), she ROLLED HER EYES and told us we cannot use it on the same table. FIRST OF ALL: there is NOTHING on the agreement that says it can only be used for one table only. SECOND: If you do not know how to use a product that is promoted by the company you are working for, DO NOT GET AN ATTITUDE. Simply tell the customer you will check on it, and WALK AWAY. and please do come back in a timely manner. Rolled her eyes??! For those of you who knows, I almost got Madea on her! Anyways, so there. Dear Management: Please find better employees. The one who understands your promotions, and doesn't get attitude. PS: It was a coupon for twenty bucks. It said minimum purchase of 20 bucks. WE HAVE DONE THESE COUPON-THING A MILLION TIMES. And she comes back, once again with attitude, and tells us that there needs to be at least one dollar difference to charge the credit card. Since our total was $20.25. I was already forced to buy an extra beer, and I told her I do not want any more food. She gives me this "dumb" stare until I told her to go ahead and charge a dollar FOR NOTHING just so that we can get the hell out of this place. She comes back and gives us a receipt for $2. Now, I dont mind $1.75, but $1.75 FOR NOTHING on a restaurant and a server that was rude, and on the other check they also added some more change on it.. SERIOUSLY GUYS? I said a buck. and not 1.75 ... I was already forced to purchase an extra beer to go over 20 bucks (when in the agreement it doesnt say you have to go over 20 bucks..on other deals you just lose the difference) but this waitress forced us to go over what we wanted to spend. Driving home became a dilemma because I cant drive well in Atlanta and my hubby had to drink that extra beer ... and we were still over charged. One of several pretty good bars in the Vinings area. (The others are Marlow's Tavern, Meehan's Pub, and Tavern At Riverside) Decent live music on occasion. One gigantic TV screen. Respectable selection of beers. Food used to be great for a pub but menu changed in '07 and food just decent since. What these Vinings bars have in common is that they are all nice and clean and have good TVs. Crowd is more OTP. Lots of people who just got out of college. Those that are a little older are almost identical to the Buckhead crowd. Basically, places that might be culturally lacking, but doesn't change the fact that they are very comfortable places to relax in and watch sports or to hit on cute young guys and girls. They have a cute little patio but wouldn't let me smoke cigar there. : ( I don't live in Vinings anymore and have no reason to go here. I went to this restaurant bar the first time and was not impressed. I got a shrimp starter that was bland and forgettable. They have a"caesar salad" with roasted tomatoes not in my opinion a caesar salad it was not bad. My next trip I split a lobster nacho with my friend and it was fabulous. It had enough meat, cheese, sour cream and pick for two people easily. I drank a vodka drink with pinapple chunks to that was strong. I was told this place is more of a local drinking spot that it is known for it's food. Unfortunately, all of what I was told was true, however I needed to check for myself. My gf and I stopped here after picking me up from a long flight back from San Antonio as it was one of the only places open around the area. The place had a small crowd of folks who looked like they just finished playing in their sports league. Upon entering, you can tell this place is a little worn, and their advertisements for a wide variety of specials and promotions such as trivia. It reminded me of the best local college bar a town could offer but without the douchebaggery. I must admit that is was clean despite showing some age. As for the food, it left something to be desired. The fries I had with my burger were the best part of my meal as I reluctantly ate my burger indecisively, telling myself it was better than it really was. I'm pretty sure is was one of those pre-frozen burgers that you serve during a summer BBQ just by the way it looked and tasted. At least a cold Blue Moon helped me wash it down. My gf had tenders that were serviceable, yet uninspiring for casual bar fare. Our server was attentive, and did a standard job as the night went out. We both left considering whether we should have went somewhere else or ate something different. The place has potential however it seems satisfied getting a C+ and it shows. read more

It was enough to stop me from going... however, the call of Yelp coupon is just a tad bit stronger than the bad experience so I came back for another try. Good for meeting friends after work, it has a great selection of beers at reasonable prices. The decor is very similar to nearby bars Meehans and Marlowe's - dark wood and dim lighting. As far as the food goes, they are creaetive with their dishes. I love the Latin flair to their dishes (think spices like chipotle and cilantro). Much more than typical bar food, I love the Steak Tostada appetizer and their peach glazed pork. Just writing this is making my mouth water! Once caveat: Parking is crazy here. They have waaaay too many stores for the amount of parking. And so many lazy people like to park near the curb making it difficult to get in and out. Padriac's has the distinct honor of being my 100th review...wooohooo! This is a cool restaurant to hit up with you friends. We've always sat on the patio and found it to be a great meeting place to laugh and reconnect. Definitely the coolest perk is that on Thursdays they give you free glasses with every beer purchase. Thus if you just moved into a new apartment or something and you need to stock up on some cool glassware, Padriac's is an excellent choice. The service rocks, we never had a moment where we needed anything that wasn't preempted by our waitress. The food's great as well, tons of great apps to choose from if you're hanging out with friends after work. Check them out for a solid restaurant experience if you're in the area. read more

If you live near this place I can definitely see coming here for a drink or two after work or to watch a game. We came here after having already had desert (pinkberry FTW!) and popped in for a drink and something to nosh on. My date had a salad and I had some potato Gouda balls (which were fried, cheesy and delicious). Lots of TVs, alcohol, bar food, cute servers, drink specials, comfy booths, its a good place if you're sick of places like taco mac. A word of warning, we had an issue with the $10 for $20 yelp coupon, so be sure to let them know you have it and that there aren't any stipulations for using it. As this is covered in someone else's review already I will leave it at that, but I probably won't be back due to the issue we had. Great place for a beer and a bite. Salads are large ask for half order if needed. Same with the nachos. Saturday and Sunday football. Call ahead if you are looking for a specific sport or game to watch. My only issue is that it is DARK inside. Not that I like massive amounts of sunlight but it is a dark establishment and requires the light from your phone to see the menu. They should hand out small flashlights to see the menu. Was there on St. Patrick's Day...not a good idea! It was super crowded, full of people dressed in green with hats and celebratory spirits, watching the NCAA basketball game [I was too]. Walked in, there was no one to seat us even though I saw several waitresses/hostesses walk by...nonchalant look on their faces. Took us about 5 minutes to get someone's attention, and another 10 to get an empty table...After that, our waitresses was nice and friendly about getting our order in and bringing drinks first. We were expecting a full menu, but since it was holiday, they limited the menu to 6-8 items only with St. Patrick's Day/Irish themes :( I ordered an Irish Car Bomb [drink] and some kind of Irish Soup with beef and potatoes, it was pretty delicious :) My friend ordered a burger and coke, I think it was okay. During our meal, it was of course, super loud/noisy atmosphere and the doors were open at the entrance and back to the patio/deck tables. That wasn't so great because there were people smoking outside right by the doors, and the smoke would get in and everything basically smelled like smoke - my soup didn't taste so great then. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes to get the attention of our waitress to bring the check, she was off busy or who knows? We were in a hurry to go somewhere else, it really shouldn't take that long if she was paying attention after we finished our food and sat with empty plates/bowls/drinks. This is a standard pub up in the Cumberland/Vinings/Smyrna/whatever you want to call it area. They show all sporting events and will change the TV nearest to you in most cases. There is nothing special about it - they've got good service, regular bar/grill food, and a parking lot. Also, they are really cheap. I had 3 pitchers of beer and 2 entrees with a friend and it was $40. That's cheap as hell when considering the prices I normally pay in midtown. I shall return! read more

This place is not bad at all....honestly I really wasn't expecting much from it but I was pleasantly surprised. Hannah C. and I went here after a concert on a Friday night to have a drink or two along with an appetizer before we called it a night. When we came in I was really surprised about just how many people there were here...they really had a good crowd going (mostly the fratty type if you ask me). They also had a band playing a lot of 90s covers, and a couple of dance-able songs here and there....they were not bad, but I have heard better (maybe they have bad acoustics?). I was also pleasantly surprised to see a decent beer menu...they had a pretty good selection of draft and bottle beers. I decided to go with a Hoegarden go accompany the calamari that we had ordered. Our beers were served quickly and not much longer our huge appetizer arrived. The calamari order had fried okra as well as fried jalapenos on the side (I'm not a fan of the heat). The okra was actually pretty good, and the calamari were pretty decent, but I will say that they were very, very greasy. Maybe they should have fried them in hotter oil? Anyway, they were still tasty, especially with the sauce that was served with it. I believe it was vinegar based....very, very good! Overall our experience here was very good.....until random drunk guys started bugging us to dance, which we declined but apparently they didn't get message....we actually ended leaving because of those douches, prob should have complained to the bouncer but oh well.... It was the oldest two chunks of meat laying around out back. All of the ketchup in the world would not make it taste better. Absolutely not baked fresh that day or even yesterday. How about the mashed potatoes? They weren't even fresh. They were made today, but not recently. I think the potato was softer before it was cooked and mashed.
