Good burger nice atmosphere would recommend for a weekday stop just to nightcap before bed.

I dropped in at Padriac's on a lazy Saturday afternoon for a casual lunch. The place was a ghost town at about 1:30, which might be a bad sign. But the bar area at least seemed to have some folks hanging out, so we grabbed a couple of stools. We started off by taking advantage of the $6 pitcher special...can't remember what the beer was but it wasn't a super cheap one, so it was a decent deal. The bartenders were excellent, personable and interesting. I definitely think sitting at the bar was the right choice based on their personalities. Service was ok, nothing exceptional, but they were fun to hang out with while we ate. Lunch was pretty basic, they have lots of sandwich options and some soups and salads as well. I was really hoping for a classic turkey club but since that wasn't up for grabs, I opted for a Cuban wrap instead. My friend got the Rueben, and we both had a big pile of fries on the side. The sandwiches were alright. Again, nothing amazing, but solid. The fries were just so-so, a little too chewy for my taste. This was a fine, reasonably priced stop in for a non-fast food lunch. Went in and sat at the bar for a beer and it was entirely pleasant. Went back the next week for a meal and wished I hadn't. The service was molasses. The food was not great (we ordered burgers medium and they came beyond well). Shoulda gone to 5 Guys and then had a beer here after. read more

I can't speak for the alcohol or the beer but I can vouch on the FOOD! Amazing amazing amazing I just moved to Georgia a few months ago and this is my go to place! AMAZING they have a great menu my favorites are their burgers and jambalaya pasta I was stunned with how good the pasta was. If your really hungry and looking for comfort food try the meat loaf, they give u a huge portion of meat along with mashed potatoes and corn. This is one of my favorite spots can't wait to try the rest of the menu! read more

Pubs are always tricky to review. Everyone seems to have a different expectation or opinion on what a pub should be, or not be. I had always held an unfair and uninformed perspective that Padriac's was just a junky local dive bar that was trying too hard to be Irish. I stand mostly corrected. Had President's Day off and ended up at Padraic's for lunch and what evolved into some day-drinking on the patio - after all, who doesn't love some day-drinking? What's not to like? As I was on the patio, I can't really speak to what dining or drinking inside is like - my quick pass through though showed a somewhat worn space - a bit like those really great comfortable shoes you have that are maybe just a little bit too old, but still quite serviceable. The patio itself was nondescript - typical iron patio furniture inside a fenced area that extends into the parking lot. The landscaping and brick wall shielded it mostly from the parking lot activity and road noise. Service was reasonably quick. I'd prefer service to be a bit more on top of things, but it wasn't bad by any stretch. If I were trying to get a quick work lunch in, then it might be more of annoyance/issue. The menu is about what you'd expect from a place that is trying to suggest that they are Irish more than they are not. Although other than the name, I can't really say I find anything about it that's Irish. Ordered the classic reuben for about nine bucks, with fries. The odd part is they chop up their corned beef - kinda like chipped beef if you know what that is. Seems odd to me, I much prefer it sliced. I know, maybe this is a foodie nit, but I know what I prefer. Despite the hacked up corned beef, the flavor was excellent and the bread toasted perfectly and ultimately not very soggy. Soggy bread is the bain of the Reuben sandwich fan. Fries were also quite good and seasoned well... all served alongside a nice big pickle spear. Enjoyable and I'd get it again. The real standout to me was their beer list. I've been to so many places like Padriac's where the owner has just phoned it in to their beer distributor and the taps are the same thing, different package ... Bud, Bud Light, Miller, Miller Light, etc. Not Padriac's. 39 taps and if you can't find something among those 39, then, well, I don't know, drink water or something. They've done a nice job of catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences - a number of the usual big brewery suspects (Coors, Miller, Bud), but then a few of the big regional breweries like Abita, Sweetwater and New Belgium and then most pleasantly surprising a number of the really good local guys. Multiple Creature Comforts (including Tropicalia), Scoffloaw, Orpheus and others. And dozens more in the bottle. Well done putting together a beer list that shows some thought and does try to be inclusive of all sorts of customers and price points. Where they appear to have succumbed to their liquor rep is the wine list. I'm not an especially knowledgeable wine guy, but the list was pretty short and seemed to be typical low/low-mid level brands. YMMV. One caveat - Padriac's is in a small strip of stores that includes a bagel place, cell phone, tanning and a few others. How the developer got all those stores approved with the limited amount of parking is beyond me. Beware, parking can be a bit of a challenge. Two thumbs up - some demerits for the uninspired decor and that late 90's called and wants their sports bar back vibe along with tricky parking situation. That said, if you're stuck in traffic on 285 and want a break to let traffic clear - hop off and stop in at Padriac's. I would. read more

If you want a good place to hang out and get wasted with your frat-boy buds and big-boobed sorority chicks, this is it. If you want to eat...skip it. There wasn't anything on the menu that really interested me. I finally decided on the fish salad (which turned out to be some pre-frozen salmon chunks, mixed greens, and tomatoes...that's it). I was craving an appetizer, but hubby was there to keep my diet in check, so I skipped the queso dip or $17 lobster nachos. At first, I anguished over not having my sinfully precious fatty goodness, but after we got our meals, it was clear that we were lucky to have missed the opportunity to overspend on food that ranks "Meh" at best. Yeah, if you're going out for happy hour and think that you might wanna eat while you're there, here's some friendly advice from this simi-picky peanut gallery: 1) spare yourself the trouble and eat a Willy's first or something...or even Chik-fil-a across the street, OR 2) get so drunk that you don't know what you're tasting after you order it. Food-wise: Not impressed. But they always seem to have fun events and drink specials going on every night of the week. Tonight, we just happened to stumble upon Guitar Hero night...costumes included. So, it was pretty entertaining to watch these guys take it so seriously. Not as entertaining as say, UFC , but it was funny to watch after downing a $3 Sam Adams (yay for beer)! I also read that Wednesday nights they have live music and $5 martinis for da ladies (love me some martinis)...I'd be willing to check it out. All in all, there is a 69% chance that I won't be running back, as I'm not your typical bar-fly, and even if I were, this experience solidifies that my heart belongs to Marlow's. We had just arrived in town to start our work week in Atlanta and found this place near our hotel. We were starving and ready to dive in. Our waitress was great about mentioning the wine and drink specials before we ordered which most certainly influenced our choices in a good way. We ordered a bottle of wine for my 2 co-workers while I decided to check out the local beer taps. I gathered that Atlanta is more of an IPA city than anything, but they didn't have a lot of darker beer options. However, our waitress was able to give me a taste of a few locals they had and I was able to find a quite tasty one to enjoy. For food, we indulged in the cajun shrimp which was oh-so-delicious and I went with the baja tacos for my main dish. I realize this entree is actually on the starter menu, but it was a perfect amount especially after inhaling the shrimp and garlic bread. I was pretty pleased when we left. Reeks of cigarettes, desperation, and despair. Like "Cheers," but in desperate need of oxygen tanks, antidepressants, and cosmetic surgery. I was studiously ignored by the staff, who could tell I didn't fit in by virtue of my self respect and lack of emphysema. One of the best neighborhood bars around the area of Vinings, GA. I've been going here for years. Best food items if you're willing the pay the price is the pork chops. They have a great late night menu after 10pm. They have live music which is fun if it is not too loud. Every night they have different drink specials, and during lunch they may have a special or two. Supposedly this is the "it" spot in Vinings and it certainly was busy enough for a Saturday night, but it didn't seem like anything special to me. I had the burger, which was pretty good; of course it's hard to screw up a hamburger. My date had the chicken enchilada, which she devoured. We had a restaurant.com gift certificate for this spot we'd never tried, so after church yesterday, we went ahead and tried it out. Not sure when they open, but we must have arrived around 12:30ish. COMPLETLEY empty - sweet. We had the complete attention of the waitstaff and she was quite sweet & helpful. The restaurant.com certificate said that we had to order at least $35 worth of food. Usually, the problem is that you'll go way over the minimum, in this case, we had to figure out how to approach the total. The most expensive item on the menu was an appetizer of lobster nachos for $17. NOTHING else was even near close in the price. Since we had so much of a cushion, we decided to go for it. We found hat they have a half-order, so that helped greatly to get something else. The dude loves soup, so he had a bowl and was quite pleased, some chicken/ vegetable something. Said it tasted homemade. He got some pasta vegetable dish, I ordered the portabello burger and added some bacon to it after ruling out another really attractive sandwich. The nachos were HUGE, we were baffled that this was a half-order. Pretty tasty, glad that we tried it. Not really sure about the quality of the meat, though. I hope it wasn't fake. Then... I was stuffed. I couldn't eat another bite. Wish I could tell you about the sandwich, but I never took a bite, its in the fridge for my lunch today. I couldn't even muster up the strength to take a bite of his. I had a few nibbles on my fries, they were pretty tasty. I really liked it, service was great, the menu was expansive. They seem to be more of a bar than anything, though. We don't drink, so we'll stick with the after church non-crowd. The music was GREAT on the overhead speakers, some ol' school R&B. There are several TV's, they had sports and news showing. Parking for this lot is absolutely deplorable though. Came here a while back with my significant other to use a restaurant.com certificate. We had to spend $50 I think, and we went during lunch - it was a LOT of food for us. The price points are quite high, but the portions are large. We found everything to be good, average really. The calamari had okra in it, which I think is awesome. The service was friendly and quick. Lots of tvs, comfortable booths and awkward tables in the middle. I've never been here at night, and since the prices go way up, I don't expect I ever will. read more

Service was friendly and efficient during the lunch rush, BLT was delish, but, the special Soup of the Day, was not so special. The Sausage Potato and Kale soup had a decent flavor profile, but #1 it was not hot, #2 the potato chunks were still raw in the middle, and #3, the kale was crunchy - not even wilted a little. I was starving, so ate around the raw potato, but my associate left most of his bowl on the table. Waitress made no comment on the barely touched portion when she cleared the table, so I guess he paid for it, unfortunately. Stopped in on a drive down to Orlando from Chicago. Wonderful beer selection, I had a local IPA that was really good. My fiancé and I split lobster nachos for dinner.
