Decided to check out a new pizza place near me, called Padrino's! Excellent decision! Terrific wait staff, exceptional food (we both had stromboli's) and at a reasonable price! I was amazed at how much meat was packed into my "small" stromboli!!! We liked it so well, we went back again 2 weeks later! Again, excellent on all counts!! Plus, it feels like a pizza parlor with the right atmosphere! They obviously have a lot of happy customers, since it was like grand central with orders being picked up! I live In Maryland, but whenever I go home to visit family in Woodbridge, I ALWAYS order Padrino's! Their chef salad is hands down the best I've ever had--fresh, perfectly balanced, and loaded with all the right ingredients. This review is a little late as it's almost a week old. I have been meaning to post, but I did not have a chance. Unfortunately, this is not going to be a great review. Although I have been coming to this location for about five years, I recently had a horrible experience. I typically order online through their website, but on my way home I was driving so my mother decided to call in the order. We are originally from New York City and anyone who's from up north knows that a sub is the same thing as a hero and a hero is the same thing as a sub. So originally my mother asked for two meatballs, hero sandwiches. Unfortunately, when the order arrived, it was two meatball Gyro sandwiches As I mentioned, I was born and raised in New York City, so I did grow up around a lot of Greeks. Anyone who knows anything about Greek food knows that gyros are not made with meatballs. We called the restaurant to let them know that they had sent us the incorrect order. Immediately, the woman who answered the phone got extremely irritated and said that she did nothing wrong with the order and that we didn't know how to place an order for food. When we said we wanted the correct order or a refund as we weren't going to eat a meatball Gyro, she said she wasn't going to do either one of those things. She said that she read back the order and that my mother had confirmed it. If she didn't understand what my mother was asking for in English she could have just said that she didn't understand, and my mother would've gladly given her the order in Spanish. So unfortunately, we had to dispute the charge to the card because they took no responsibility for their part and got extremely nasty. Furthermore, unfortunately, we will never order from there again We have been ordering from there at least once a month for the last five years. We stopped by to check out the pizza based on prior reviews of its close proximity to the infamous NY pizza. We tried the NY white pizza and the padrino pizza which is reminded me of a supreme pizza. I wouldn't say it is exactly like a NY slice but it comes pretty close based on trying other local spots. Service was good considering it was quiet when we came in to place a takeout order. The interior resembles that of a back in time look at restaurants with its wooden tables and the opportunity to see the pizza making area from the dining area. Plenty of seating inside as well as parking outside. It is sad to see the sign of the times as you walk in of the short staffing but the ones on staff when we were there were quite pleasant and friendly. Based on the price points on the menu, it is hard to see a complete turnaround but if they simplify the menu and start a local eating competition, there might be some benefit in thriving amongst the competition in the area. read more

Been coming to Padrino's since 2015, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Their food doesn't taste frozen and rushed like other pizza/Italian restaurants. Their food is homemade. My favorite to go to app is the wings The staff is also very friendly. It has a nice warm feeling when you come in and it feels like a place you can relax and enjoy delicious food. Got the job done! We were famished on a ride home from an outing and placed a carryout order. It was ready exactly when they said it would be. We got a medium veggie pizza, a Hawaiian pizza, and chicken tenders for the kids. The chicken tenders/fries were a little below average, but the kids didn't seem to mind. The pizza was a little more watery than I had hoped, but had good flavor and actually tasted better after sitting for about 20 minutes (cooling down). Baked ziti is my ABSOLUTE favorite dish. I'll try everyone's at least once. Unfortunately, Padrino's wasn't the best. I'm not one to usually make bad reviews, As a matter of fact, I downloaded this app specifically just to tell my story of why this establishment is garbage. I've been in the Restaurant industry for over 27 years, I know how things operate. I placed an order for my friends 95yr old grandmother @4:50 something on for delivery, She had complained the last time we ordered from them the pasta was dry and not enough sauce, So I requested the larger portion and "Specifically asked" that they toss the pasta in with the sauce (that's typical of any restaurant) An hour and a half later the order still hasen't arrived, I called the restaurant and she assured me it was on the way. Then the food finially arrived,(literally less than a mile away) Not only did they not do what I had requested they simply piled up 1.5 lbs of pasta in a to-go container and put a couple spoonfuls of meat sauce over it...$12 bucks...for $1.50 of noodles and some half assed sauce. Then the order was missing the salad. So I call again and speak to the same woman from before...she asks if I can be put on hold. I wait for 4 mins, then she comes back and asks for my address to check if my complaint on the timing was correct, bare in mind this is the second call. In the middle of explaining myself she out me on hold again while I'm trying to explain the other discripancies only to find out I was speaking to myself. She then came back on the phone and I formed me that my order was only 1.5 hours and said she would send the driver with the salad he had forgotten...this is now 2 hours after I had placed my original order and 2 phone calls, I then explained how we essentially paid $12 bucks for a container of spaghetti with no sauce and requested more sauce....20 mins later, the driver shows up with a salad and ,I kid you not, the tiniest styrofoam coffee cup of sauce. At 6:20 I called and spoke to the manager. He said they lost the order I cancelled the order requested a refund, I have to wait until Monday to get it. We shall see. I never, ever thought I would find anything close to a real New York pizza in Virginia. Then we happened to be in Dale City and discovered Padrino's. WOW!! Since we were just passing through and stopped there for lunch we ordered a slice -- but after ONE BITE ... I thought I died and went to ... New York! ;) They even have a real New York Style SIZE (18"). So anyway, after that one bite we immediatelhy ordered a pie to go. Only wish we lived closer - but I think we'll make a monthly trip there just for their pizza! BRAVO, Padrino Family!!! PS We added pepperoni, but I am positively sure any combo would be great. This place reminds me Fairlington Pizzeria (my favorite). Steak and cheese is tasty and I like how it comes in 2 different sizes. It does come with raw white onions not grilled. I come here very often to purchase my pizza. They service is always very amazing! I also order for delivery a lot since I get home very late so I order to save time. I had an situation happened when they delivered my pizza it was the incorrect pizza. Without calling the store the manager came to my house and dropped off my pizza and apologized to me about the confusion of the incorrect pizza. Recall I never called them complaining about their mistake since I knew they were busy and it's not the end of the world. The lady in the front was having a hard time taking my pizza order (garlic olive oil pizza with tomato chicken and spinach) when we received the pizza, it had marinara sauce on it. I only had just enough time before work to order the first pizza so I couldn't have it remade. It was the only chance I had to eat something before work so I took the pizza with me anyway. The 3 star rating is due to my friend not liking the wings or sausage rolls. If we didn't have these items I would have given it a 4 star rating. I ordered a New York white pizza that was supposed to come with ricotta and mozzarella. I added sausage. This pizza is supposed to be a garlic and oil base based on the menu. I also ordered the fried ravioli. The order was delivered and the pizza was wrong. It has a ton of red tomato sauce on it so we called and they said they would deliver a new pizza. However, the new pizza was delivered and still no ricotta on the pizza. Great local spot in the dale city area. I'm a man of habit and typically order pizza from dominos but when feeling something different in the NoVa area this is my go to place. The pizza is great and reasonably priced. I got 2 mediums,, the Padrino's special and a 3 topping pizza. Total was about 30$ not including tip. Best Pizza in town, period. Just unbeatable pizza. I've only dined in a few times, and from what I've experienced it was enjoyable, but the real deal here is the pizza.
