    Shrimp Louie Pizza

Last minute stop-in and we were very pleasantly surprised. Both pizzas were cooked with just the right amount of heat to be firm but not burnt. The red sauce on the Zep (my favorite) had a little sweetness to it. I'm so happy they use COLD banana peppers too- that's exactly how I make it at home. It's such a refreshing contrast. The Krazy Chicken was okay but seemed a little less flavorful for being Thai-influenced- still very good. The Zep, while seemingly basic, was the winner for me for having such a complimentary flavor profile. I can't wait to get it again.

I was a bit disappointed. The pizza was a bit bland, no real flavor. I ordered the chicken and pepperoni and the chicken also had no flavor. It is a big size for the cost but the fact that it's lacking flavor it's not worth it. The server wasn't super friendly and just had us sit and we waited a little before even getting a menu. Once we got the menu we ordered the food but he didn't even bother to ask what beverage. I did notice that he was a lot friendlier and open to explain things to other customers that came after us. I also had to be the one to ask for a refill on my drink even when it wasn't even busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After we left I went ahead and tried out their custards. Another bug disappointment. They weren't too flavorful neither and for the cost definitely not worth it.

My son asked for pizza after we visited the Riverfest. Several people had mentioned how good the pizza was and it was right at the corner. Ordered a maple bacon pizza and a coconut custard cup....$30 total seemed like a lot but I was thinking the pizza would be a good size. $20 for a thin personal size pizza to me is pricey but my son said it was really good. I'm not sure it's $20 good lol. Coconut custard was yummy....dense and creamy. I would not make this a regular spot due to the high prices sadly

Yes, this photo was taken just shortly before they open today so no one was there except us picking up our pizzas for our Company meeting

[Coronavirus review] This place is open during corona, though I found it confusing that they are apparently running out of the back porch; signs seemed to suggest if you wanted frozen custard you should go to the front, but that was closed off and no one was there, so I went to the back and got in line with the pizza folks. It does seem like most people are reviewing the pizza (a long rectangular creation), but the sign says pizza and frozen custard, and I wanted dessert. The banana split I ordered was a rather magnificent-looking mess that drew looks from other people in the local park; someone asked me where I got it and went straight over. This dish was an entire banana with custard and sauce, but also quite a few other preserved fruits; if you're going to indulge in sugar, might as well get it from fruit. Of course, custard is egg and dairy and not for everyone, and this was a pretty straightforward small town kind of place without a ton of options, but it seems like what they do, they do well.

This is a time where I wish yelp had half stars because third base was a solid 4.5 stars but I will round up because everything was great. I ordered the Roma caprese which was extremely fresh, however the basil didn't have much flavor at all. I also got a half occoquan clam half shrimp Louie pizza. This pizza was so delicious and perfectly cooked! The clam half was loaded with clams and bacon and the shrimp were so tender and tasted amazing.

Diablo Pizza and Maple Bacon Pizza

Found this spot visiting Occoquan for the first time. First off, it's definitely a pet and family friendly spot. With a decent amount of outdoor seating and some outdoor space, it's a great spot where everyone can relax. In terms of food, we got two signature pizzas on one pie. This is a great option as it allows you to try two of many interesting styles. Today, we got the Diablo and Maple Bacon. Of the two, I would recommend the Maple Bacon. It had a strange flavor consistency but in a good way. It was sweet and savory. The Diablo sounded and looked good but it just didn't match up to the maple bacon in flavor. In fact, the Diablo was mostly flavorless. It was fine but just not what I was expecting from the menu description. It lacked the spice that was advertised. In all, the pizza was good and is definitely worth a try. Third Base also sells custard on one side side of the building. BE SURE to get some. I got the banana split and it was to die for. Fresh fruit with tasty chocolate vanilla swirl was the move.

Located in historic Occoquan VA, it's mainly a chocolate shop that ethically sources its cocoa from different countries around the world in order to make their in house (mostly dark) chocolate bars and bon bons. They also serve gelato, drinking chocolate (hot cocoa) and on select weekends homemade pizza with sourdough via Graffiti Cat! The shop is very small with no seating inside but there are a couple tables and chairs right outside and in the alley (in the winter we just get it to go or eat in the car). Parking is hard as it's very busy and it's on a historic street so it's all on the side of the sidewalk. The drinking chocolate is my favorite! I always have to order a traditional (think American hot cocoa but with a richer feel), and a European drinking chocolate (smaller cup with less milk but so rich like drinking straight melted dark chocolate!, so absolutely delicious!). I often get their bonbons as well which are handmade and have various flavors like toasted coconut, Ugandan Dark chocolate (named for the country of cocoa origin), raspberry and mint, along with a few others. I got the 70% dark chocolate, the mint chocolate, and the toasted coconut. I liked two of them but the mint chocolate tasted a bit too much like toothpaste to me so I didn't finish that one. Now onto the Pizza. They make their own sourdough for these personal size pizzas, and use fresh ingredients. They have a set menu except for one special pizza which changes each week and is updated on their website. I ordered the margarita pizza and added pepperoni on top. The margarita part was tasty and the sourdough really compliments the ingredients well...if you like sourdough you'll love these pizzas. I would say that the pepperoni is more porky than beefy and since I don't tend to like pork I didn't appreciate it as much as I usually do. If you like pork you will be fine with it. The pizza is NY style in that it is thin and chewy. I think it could use a bit more sauce but it's tasty nonetheless. My husband got the cheese pizza and he enjoyed it but not nearly as much as me (though he doesn't love sourdough like I do). The service is great and I love the adorable cat mascot for the pizza. They hand draw on each pizza box and each one is unique, which is cool. If you look out the window you'll see they 'graffitied' a graffiti cat on the brick on the side of the building. Bon bons: 4/5 Drinking chocolate: 5/5 Pizza: 4/5 TLDR: delicious dark chocolate for drinking and eating; ethically sourced. Pizza pop up on weekends is good and has a cute cartoon cat mascot. Parking sucks, but that's just historic districts for you. I dream of the drinking chocolate and need to get it at least once a month. I definitely recommend both Potomac Chocolate and Graffiti Cat.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest woman, Ms. L, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. The shop offers a great variety of treats, including both dispenser-style and individually wrapped candies, along with a selection of specialty sodas. The space itself is small but clean, inviting, and well kept. While there are no public restrooms, the overall atmosphere makes it a pleasant place to stop in and enjoy a treat. This place keeps the Belgian brews stocked across the spectrum. From fruity Lambics to Tripels (my personal fave) and Quadrupels, pales to darks. There's a lot to explore here. The food is pretty good too. The frites (fries) are excellent and pair well with the beer. They are thick without veering into steak fry territory, nicely crunchy, and packed with a pleasing amount of salt (and I believe a hint of vinegar). The waffles are also a standout, typically topped with light and airy cream. The merguez lamb sausage is also hearty and delicious. I wish the building itself was larger. There's only a few tables, meaning you may be in for a wait if you go during the colder months. And I recently had the chocolate mousse and didn't care for it. It was much more akin to pudding, and there wasn't a deep enough chocolate flavor to contrast with the whipped cream. There's no better place I've found in Occoquan to eat, drink, and be merry.
