Ok so I went to Padua Pasta a couple months ago, and the girls behind the counter were pretty rude so I left without purchasing anything. Today I had to go to upland post office, so i figured i would give padua pasta another try. Tried to order their lunch box combo which says 6" cold sandwich, side salad, pickle, cookie. I asked for the frenchie, and she says "no we dont do that w the frenchie." (This one is older but she is just as rude.) Alright, so can i order a frenchie and buy a side salad and a pickle? "Yes." Ok i would like the chopped antipasta. "No we only do that salad in the large box." OKAYYY can I get the frenchie with a freaking slice of pickle on the side? "Yes". Ok so I'm glad we got that squared away, then they charge me 2.00 for the slice of soggy pickle. I seriously cannot. Just to clarify: frenchie is literally a french roll with goat cheese, fig jam, and arugula. Its good, but not some kind of magical work of art Also one of the only non-meat sandwiches on the menu. Any monkey could make one at home. If this woman was friendly, I probably wouldn't care and would have chosen something else. Sorry Padua Petty Pasta Makers, two strikes and you're out. read more

The store has a good set up a little confusing if it's your first time but you'll get it. Got some pasta to take home and make later, was great btw the freshness makes a difference. Had the house sanwhich and cannoli, sandwich was loaded, delicious. if you're not a fan of oil on a Sammy, then request light oil or no oil. Best sandwiches ever! I've also tried other items, such as the lasagna, manicotti, and chicken parmigiana. All were great. However, the sandwiches are the best that I've had. I think it's the bread. I was told that they have a baker arrive in the middle of the night to make the bread fresh. It's so good that I buy it by the loaf and take some home. One other plus - the sandwiches are big. My wife and I split a 6 inch. It's plenty of food for two as they are stuffed full ingredients. read more

This place has good reviews so I decided to try it, and has a beautiful set up and a lot of variety throughout the store. However I was totally grossed out when I went to open up a black-and-white cookie and found it had mold in the back. The employees gave me a refund, although they seemed generally unsurprised and unapologetic. read more

All I can is that Maria made it happen! I order 30 8oz pizza doughs in which they usually come in 1 pound bags. I was worried because I've had bad experiences ordering things in advance. I do love going to Padua Pasta! There is a sandwich I absolutely love, and a pasta salad. Their cakes by the slice are excellent! I just recently had the Pumpkin cake, and oh my goodness! I went back the next week to get another slice, and it was just as wonderful. However, the pumpkin banana bread was not good, which was disappointing. My Son loves the Chicken Sandwich, and my Mom loves the Tuscan Soup. The food is great! However, the staff behind the deli counter are never great! I come in about 3 times every month, and sometimes more often. They are always rude, annoyed, never say "Thank you", or "Have a nice day", they're also impatient. I was recently in on Saturday October 6th, 2018, it was the same. Honestly, if I didn't want the sandwiches I had ordered, and the soup for my mom, so badly, I would have walked out. The girl behind the deli counter taking my order, sighed, was rude, and when I said "Thank you", hoping she would also, she said "ugh huh your welcome". I left the counter feeling as if I had truly bothered her by ordering food, and it was a very negative experience. My order was over $70.00, please be a little kind. Being Italian American, and raised Italian, Its important to me to pass on family traditions, The best one is family Sunday dinners. my grandmother cooked all day, as I child I was always in the kitchen with her. Fresh produce,bread,pasta, sausage, and handmade meatballs were always the way to go. so after being passed down to me, this is the only way I know how to cook. this deli/bakery has ALL you need, from fresh made pasta to, sausage and meatballs.......... I have been here a number of times. I like their pasta. I've got a number of different types and it is all fresh. They also have pasta sauce in the refrigerator that you can buy and it is OK. Are usually spice it up a little bit. Their sandwiches are pretty good I've different ones. The roast beef sandwich the other day. It was pretty tasty. read more

Went here for lunch on a Friday. We weren't sure if there was going to be enough seating inside, because you can't tell from the pictures. But there is quite a bit of it throughout the store. Nice sandwich (cold and hot) and salad choices, plus pizza by the slice. What makes it really good is their fresh bread they bake on site! Note though, that the sandwiches are pretty hefty. We ordered the smaller (6"?) sandwiches, which were hard to finish. Could have easily got the ones that were a little bigger and shared. Lots of little dessert choices too, plus Gelato!! Next time around we will split a sandwich to leave room for dessert :) read more

Heard so many great things about the sandwiches here from a good friend that I decided to give them a try . Well unfortunately I can only review the service I got as I left without ordering. Came in yesterday afternoon around 2pm and there were several people mulling around waiting for food. Had to ask one of the women where to order. Walked up to the counter and waited for 10 minutes without even being acknowledged. Asked to place an order and the girl didn't even respond to me. I turned around and walked out. I guess business must be good enough that they don't need more customers. Seems like a nice place but I'll never know. As far as service goes, whoever is in charge should take a close look at what is being done. There really is no order to the process. Maybe a sign or two to let customers know where to order. read more

Love having an Italian Deli/gourmet market here in old town Upland! We bought a freshly baked baguette, and two kinds of homemade pastas to cook up at home, and a sampling of their delicious cookies! First time we went there for dinner is was closed at 7:05, so we learned it is more of a place to pick up food, not eat there. Only 2 large tables to eat at. I then went back and picked up food a few days later. What I got was good, but was $30 in the bat of an eye. I will go back, but I think Claremont would have been a better location. They put a lot of effort into the remodel, the staff is friendly, but location and hours of operation I see as an issue. I'd love to tell you how the food is, but I wasn't even able to make it in the door. I called and asked if they were eat-in or just take out. The lady on the phone said they have a nice eating area with great atmosphere and delicious food. Sounds great. We get there and there are literally 4 parking places. There was an open space, however the Volvo parked in the space next to it did an "I'm special" park job, so we couldn't park. I ended up parking on the street, and as we drove past I saw they had a grand total of *2* tables. Some eating area! I get the baby and my 5-year old out of the car, and as in waking up, a guy with 4 other people sees me, and literally runs across the street, practically knocks me down, and grabs the table, while the rest of his party is still 100 yards away. I go in and start to set my stuff down, and the guy says, "Oh, I'm waiting for a few people". Douche. So I left, pissed off. Maybe it's not fair to judge them on their customers, but don't tell me you have an eating area and it's two tables. Wasted 30 minute drive from Fontana. Maybe I'll try takeout one day. read more

Visited Upland for the first time a few weeks ago with a friend and we were told about this little gem and are glad we checked it out, such a cheerful, charming place, you would never know it from the outside. Great ambiance with the Sinatra-esque soundtrack in the background, an open stainless steel kitchen, one of a kind décor items here and there, and lots of appealing displays. They have a small Italian grocery area where I found both the anchovies and anchovy paste I needed for a recipe. Even better they sell adorable little treats and trinkets - novelty tea towels, pretty jars of candied violets, gourmet items, kitchen and table items, cookbooks, it's a great place to pick up a hostess gift. My friend and I split 2 sandwiches, a hot roast beef with swiss, and a fig jam, goat cheese and arugula, with a side of fresh pesto pasta with lots of whole pine nuts, and an assortment of cookies from their little bakery, and a split of wine - it was all SO good. They have a large assortment of soft drinks as well as beer and wine. We lucked out and didn't have to wait for a table but they could definitely use more tables. read more

I absolutely love this place! The food and service are consistently excellent. While I am partial to their salami, I highly recommend the roast beef and turkey too. The bread is killer. Don't forget to save room for pasta salad. And of course, their pasta, sauces, and sweets are unbelievable as well. The biggest problem with Padua is that there are too many good things to eat and just not enough room in my stomach to do so. Warning to someone who hasn't tried this place: this is not fast food. If you order a sandwich, it might take a few minutes to prepare it. No crazy wait, but more time than a chain. What you get, however, is far superior! read more

I wish downtown Upland had more places like this! Very cute little shop with a great selection of meats and cheeses, fresh pasta, fresh bread, and more.
