This made for a wonderful outdoor wedding party dinner. Very friendly for dietary restrictions. The on site team went above and beyond for our group and I am so grateful. Highly recommend.

Saw them at the UW street fair and decided to try the paella del mar. It was tasty but I've had better paella. For the portion size, I don't regret paying $17 but it would've helped it the flavor was just a bit more fragrant and strong. One of the clams was also not cleaned well and had some sand/ocean goop still :/

Saw these guys at the Snohomish Farmers Market then at the Fremont Sunday Market. Friendly owner and staff. Ordered the Paella del Campo (chicken, non-spicy chorizo) and Paella del Mar (Penncove mussels, Manila clams, prawns and calamari). Both were good even the ones we brought home with us. Highly recommended!

The Paella Valenciana was outstanding! The smokiness of the rice and the high quality chicken made the dish memorable. My husband, who doesn't normally like paella, enjoyed it as well. The Manchego Salad was scrumptious and the strawberry fig balsamic glaze was to die-for. The mixed spring greens in the salad were extremely fresh and not wilted and flat like I've had at some restaurants. This exemplifies you and your wife's culinary talent and dedication to high quality ingredients. I can't wait to try your other paella dishes!

We did a belated Christmas gift exchange with friends recently and our friends made reservations here. So glad they did! It's literally right down in the main Bellevue Square hub, so we were able to easily park at the mall and make a short walk to Castilla. Vibes were perfect with low lighting but still a bustling atmosphere. Our server (unfortunately forgot his name) kept solid recommendations coming all night and was so funny and personable! As this is a tapas spot, we tried quite a few dishes and split them amongst the table. Mixta Paella: our server promised us that the smaller size paella was good for 2-4 people and man he was RIGHT. The portion was absolutely insane and I don't think we even finished all of it. Everything tasted so fresh and there was so much flavor to the dish. They warn you ahead of time, but plan for the paella to take 30 minutes for them to prepare. Grilled Octopus Leg: Every time I have octopus (which is two times now LOL) I'm a little worried about the texture, but it was prepared beautifully here and the sauce that it was in was delicious. Salmon & Artichoke Dip: I'm a sucker for any type of artichoke dip and this was no exception. Creamy, rich, and great flavor! Beef Medallions: Tender and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend. Chorizo & Onion Empanada: Another banger. So crispy and the filling was so good! I actually was on the fence about this one but my husband insisted, and it was a good choice. Patatas Aioli: Crispy layered potato with a garlic aioli? I mean, come on. You can't go wrong. Delicious. This was our first visit to Castilla and I'm sure it won't be the last - would definitely return if I'm dining up again in Bellevue!

I had made a reservation in advance by phone. When we arrived, however, the restaurant told us they could not find our reservation. While mistakes can happen, the interaction felt dismissive from the very beginning. After we were eventually seated, we were not given menus, even though other guests around us received theirs immediately. We waited and asked multiple times but were still left without menus. Eventually, I tried to get the attention of the front desk and asked for a menu. Instead of helping us, the owner came over and told us that we were being "not polite" and that because we were "not polite," we would not be given a menu. Wanting to document our experience, I posted a Google review while we were waiting. Shortly afterward, the owner came directly to our table with the review on her phone and confronted us about it while we were eating. I politely asked if we could discuss it after the meal, but was told that we needed to change the review immediately or leave the restaurant. I was honestly shocked. I've never experienced a restaurant owner approaching diners during their meal and pressuring them to modify a review. This was my father's birthday dinner, and the confrontation made the entire evening uncomfortable and upsetting for my family. To make matters worse, after we got home, we realized that one of the dishes we ordered was never served at all, and no one noticed throughout the entire meal. I understand that service mistakes can happen. Losing a reservation, forgetting menus, or missing an item can all be corrected. What disappointed me most was how these issues were handled. Instead of acknowledging the problems, we were blamed, confronted, and pressured to change our feedback. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe future customers deserve to know about our experience.

But this is a really upscale place and assume the place runs at full capacity during dinner hours. There is parking under the building and you can get your parking ticket validated by your server before leaving - so no stress with parking in downtown. Yes, this is an expensive place but since we were here during lunch hours, we were able to take advantage of the Executive Lunch - Set menu for $45 per person. Among us 3 people, we were able to taste everything available in that set menu and every single dish was amazing - like truly, from presentation to flavors, especially the 3 appetizers - so so very good! Location is perfect, heart of downtown but none of the road noise or human traffic. A wonderful add to downtown Bellevue!

Everything we had here was great (though I make a better Pastel de papas, potato tart). Lovely tapas that reminded me of those on the streets of Barcelona. This time, I made reservation although was a bit turned off by having to reserve with a credit card and must cancel "up to 1 day before the time of the reservation. You can always transfer your reservation to another person." No-show or late cancellation is subject to $10 fee per person. I get why they have to do this, but instead, like other establishments, they could have a disclaimer saying if you're 15 minutes late, they'll release your reservation. Judging from how busy they got, I don't think they would have had a hard time filling a table of a "no show" reservation. When all the tables are filled, noise level is a bit loud, but still manage to hear our conversation. They played great background music too! We tried a couple from their fresh sheet/seasonal menu: - Peach Pintxo - 21 acres peaches, jamon iberico, cypress grove fromage blanc tarte by heritage baguette. They were good, but nothing to rave about. I think I would've liked to taste the sweetness of the peach against the saltiness of the iberico, but the peach overpowered the taste of the ham. - Roasted Carrots - blue glass farms carrots, crushed marcona almonds, za'atar kefir, hot honey glaze. The roasted carrots were surprisingly DELICIOUS! I didn't think roasted carrots were worth going on and on about, but they were nicely cooked (not too soggy, had a nice firmness to them), and very flavorful! If this is still on the menu, I highly recommend! From their regular menu, we had: - Lamb Rib Chops - romesco, pea puree, mint (3 pcs) -- we were told the lamb was in the mint marinade for 24 hours. The meat was very tender and very flavorful! I highly recommend this dish. - Tortilla de Patata - spanish "omelet", walla walla onion, pimenton aoli (a valdemar family recipe). If you like walla wall onions, you'll like this dish. It had the sweetness of the onion. For drinks: Barrell of Monkeys - rhum barbencourt, russel's reserve rye giffard banana, hazelnut orgeat amontillado syrup, lemon -- this cocktail is delicious! You definitely taste the banana flavor. Cantaloupe mule - mocktail -- a bit disappointed, it was very tart and I didn't taste the cantaloupe at all. It was more of a lime juice. I did ask our server to make it a tad sweeter, but it got too sweet. Lesson learned...stick to alcoholic drinks! LOL!

You Will Be Disappointed…read more I was looking forward to going to La Loba, on the recommendation of a friend; in her defense, she went for dinner, we went to brunch. Perhaps the A team works the dinner shift, as there is zero service for the Sunday brunch shift. La Loba is led by a James Beard-Nominated Chef with experience at renowned Michelin-starred restaurants, which is why our experience at La Loba was so extra disappointing. As a guest, I expected more, and as guests, we should have received more. We were sat and our server takes our order. We did not see him again until the end our meal. Despite it not being busy, as they first opened at 10:00 AM, we were never checked on while we waited 20 minutes for waffles and tableside French toast. Perhaps we changed our minds, and did want to order coffee, or a cocktail, or supplement to our order (which I did), but was never afforded the opportunity as we never saw our server, and all other servers seemed incredibly busy just walking around the restaurant, not doing very much. This was not isolated to our table; there was another table where they were essentially left alone after their food arrived. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing brunch, La Loba will not be providing it, as there is a DJ playing music for ambience. The music was incredibly loud, where I could not hear my husband, who was sitting 3 feet away from me. When the food finally arrived, we were given a "show" (the tableside French toast), I am not sure why the server bothered to tell us what he was adding, as we could not hear him over the music and his mumbling. The food was unimpressive. My husband's waffles were hard and dry. My "XXL" French Toast was essentially a huge hunk of bread, topped with fresh berries, granola, nuts, vanilla gelato, and choice of local honey or dulce de leche. I had expected the bread to have been sliced and stacked, or for the bread itself to be somewhat flavorful. But no. Almost $40 for a hunk of hard, bland bread and some berries. The only flavorful aspect of the plate was the gelato. I could have forgiven the food if the service was better. Our server finally made an appearance to clear our plates and was shocked I didn't finish my hunk of bread. It was only at this point he asked if wanted anything else. We received our check as he hovered while we tapped our card to pay, and immediately cleared our table as we were getting up. If only he gave the same attention to clearing our table as he did in actually hosting us with hospitality, we would have returned for dinner. The food is not spectacular, or singular enough to override the non-existent service. The restaurant, like its food, is beautiful to the eye, but a huge disappointment when you actually experience it. A generous one star, because zero is unavailable. Just another Seattle restaurant with self-entitled service staff expecting a 20 percent gratuity for barely doing the minimum.

First of all, shout out to my guy Nate who was a tremendous server. Not only does he have a strong name, but he helped a brother out who had a fly in his beer. Good guy. We had an idea of all of the dishes that we wanted to try, but he was the shepherd that steered us towards the star of the show - the halloumi. The crispy cheese is a fantastic bite on its own, but the salad and peppers that accompany it add such a perfect balance to this plate. It's almost like eating a mozzarella stick, but just with better cheese. Let me tell you about the shrimp though. These lil puppies are bathing in a garlic butter sauce that is begging to be sipped on like a fine wine. The bread is an ideal vessel for soaking up that sauce and creating an open faced shrimpy sando. During our journey through these tapas, we discovered that the best part of the experience is trying to get a piece of everything from multiple plates to create the perfect bite. Since all of them are so well-balanced, you can mix and match whatever you want to make your wildest dreams come true. This made the dinner infinitely more fun than your average night out. The beans were just kinda mid though. You can skip 'em. Would recommend for solid food and a great time in Ballard!
